I'm sat waiting for 16 week midwife appointment. .. she is running 40 minutes late so ill be here a while!

Borrowed the doppler from work again, found the heartbeat in about 5 seconds and dh got to hear this time Smile

How are you feeling today caterpillar?

Torfhinn · 21/12/2015 11:59

Good luck tatted, i don't know where God Loch is Grin

Belleboo23 · 21/12/2015 12:41

Yay on the scans!!
Just booked my next vip sale slot had a look through the preview sooooo many lovely baby things how will I resist!! Might pick up some white sleepsuits wishing we knew what we were having but then I'd go shopping crazy!!! Anyone planning on buying bigger stuff if the January sales are good? I don't know if it still feels too soon for all that but be a shame to miss a bargain lol

Louise34567 · 21/12/2015 12:56

Never too soon Belle ;)

TattedPixie · 21/12/2015 14:13

Been for my scan this morning and have a wriggling little bubba cooking away nicely. I thought I was 13+2 today, turns out I'm 14+3 so been moved a whole week forward. Now my due date is 17th June

laughingGnomette · 21/12/2015 14:19

Congratulations on the great scans today ladies!!

Eastend2015 · 21/12/2015 14:32

Congratulations all. Tatted- so exciting, a whole week closer!

I feel like my bump has disappeared today and yesterday but my tummy is all tight and feels like it's stretching (but no cramping and still nauseous/ knackered). Has anyone else had this? I went swimming on Saturday which always improves my posture massively and do feel less bloated so maybe it's just that. I had quite a stressful weekend as my mum has been meddling in some stuff which really upset me, and I had a new niece born today so am just feeling a horrid combination of frustration/ impatience, jealousy and anxiety 😥 Reassurance please!

MadrigalElectromotive · 21/12/2015 14:34

I might well buy some bigger things if I see them in the sales Belle - now I know it is a girl I am struggling to restrain myself from buying a gorgeous little dress, but I'll force myself to wait until after Christmas I think. Xmas Grin

MadrigalElectromotive · 21/12/2015 14:42

My bump seems to get bigger/smaller through the day Eastend - and you may well be a bit less bloated too. Try not to worry. Smile

Talcott2007 · 21/12/2015 15:32

Absolutely can't wait to find out what we are having and will be delighted with either! We have to wait until end of Jan and considering how 'difficult' baby was with the 12week scan (would not stop jumping around, spinning and wriggling so took ages for the poor sonographer to get all the required images!!) I bet baby will keep their legs firmly crossed this time just to make DP and I crazier crazy!

Anyone want to take a guess at what our little jumping bean will be?? (Scan 12Week+6)

Rose2806 · 21/12/2015 15:59

Congrats on all the lovely scans! Great Christmas present for you all :-)

Eastend my bloated tummy seems to go up and down all the time, don't seem to have any hard bump yet and am 14+1.

Does anyone else feel more worried now they are telling people? I think I expected to have a proper bump by then and the scan already feels like ages ago, I was so desperate to tell people beforehand but now I almost wish they didn't know again!

TattedPixie · 21/12/2015 16:10

Here is my scan. I can't stop looking at it!

June 2016 thread #5 Starting the great gender speculation. ..
Eastend2015 · 21/12/2015 16:24

Thanks Rose and Madrigal! Just spoken to my midwife (poor guy will get plagued by my incessant questions) and he patiently explained it was normal. Definitely more anxious now though- with my niece being born today it's bought it all into focus. A really good friend has just told me she is 7 weeks gone and how excited she is about going on mat leave together but it's had the effect of making me paranoid again about "jinxing" it!!

Lovely scans Talcott and Tatted!

PrincessPunzie · 21/12/2015 16:52

Rose2806 absolutely! I posted all our Christmas cards this morning, with a written note in the ones to extended family to tell them our news, then I went for a run and spent the entire time thinking "Oh God what if I've jinxed it now?!" - I even thought I was having stomach cramps at one point (I wasn't, I was fine when I got home). I've been very sparing with who I've told, and if they social network at all I've made sure they adhere to our "No Facebook" rule as well. I just can't stand the thought of everyone I know knowing - not just because of the implication if things go wrong, but also the probable expectation on others' parts that I'll be excited and happy and baby-brained 100% of the time (rather than an actual person who just happens to be pregnant, which is what I am!) I want to be me, rather than A Person Who Is Pregnant for a while longer Smile

nehagarg · 21/12/2015 19:52

I am so incredibly relieved that I am not the only one wondering why pregnancy is so jacked up when I feel miserable and would have loved to have the baby without the mess of pregnancy.

I am in the same boat PrincessPunzie. Everyone seems to think I have suddenly become incapable of talking about anything except the baby

MollieRos · 21/12/2015 20:12

Me too! I'm happy to talk a bit about being pregnant, but there are a lot of other topics!! I'm finding it quite hard when people keep going on about me being pregnant... "oh, you must be so excited!" Um, not really actually- we're still processing the whole thing, and it's still feeling very unreal. Excited isn't really where I am at the moment. I've just been smiling and moving the conversation on, talking about there being a long way to go etc, it's going very difficult to keep up an air of constant euphoria for the next 5 1/2 months Grin

And pregnancy is really not that much fun so far, I'm astonished at all the people who enjoy pregnancy. Turns out being pregnant is really not my forte. Already had a nap this evening, now counting down the minutes till I can go to bed...

Yippee to even more lovely scans! Smile

MindfulBear · 21/12/2015 21:13

princess instead of going to a sports bra place and getting checked I recommend ordering a load of different sizes from less bounce or bravissimo and trying them on at home. Once you find one that is a great fit just send the rest back.
That way you avoid the fitting ladies and their mirrors!!
& you protect your breast fibre with a well fitting sports bra AND protect your back too. 2 v important things in pg & beyond. Grin

MindfulBear · 21/12/2015 21:15

I'm changing jobs so I'm not telling anyone we are pg. don't want to tell them until the v last moment. Anyone know when you have to tell your employer? I won't be eligible for mat pay but need to make sure I can get mat leave!

Eastend2015 · 21/12/2015 21:32

www.gov.uk/working-when-pregnant-your-rights

15 weeks before due date so that's pretty late!

PrincessPunzie · 22/12/2015 07:32

Thanks Mindful that's a great idea - I will try it Smile

Mrspopper · 22/12/2015 08:04

Definately felt quite a bit of movement last night.... Exciting!

jbiscuits · 22/12/2015 08:19

I've also started to feel a few little kicks when I'm sitting down, concentrating with my hands pressing on my bump Am looking forward to feeling proper movement, it's pretty much the only bit of pregnancy I enjoy!

Great to see more scans Smile

bikingintherain · 22/12/2015 08:39

Hello ladies!

I just got a message saying my SIL is pregnant and has just had a scan, I'm so pleased for her. We both started trying about the same time but she caught first but then had a mmc, but then a little later I found out I was pg, and felt bad for her. But now we both are hurray! now all we have to do is fight over maternity clothes!

Oh and also I'm a little quiet as we've just come over to the UK for a fortnight, but I will try and keep up!

laughingGnomette · 22/12/2015 10:42

That's really lovely biking! How far apart are your due dates?

Last day at work for me before Christmas (hooray) and it's a short one as I have my MW appointment at 2:30 Grin.

laughingGnomette · 22/12/2015 15:45

Aahhh, a nice strong heart beat was found by the midwife. Grin
My next midwife appointment is at 28 weeks which seems ages away.
