Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 41st grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 41sr grads thread is HERE

The thread we have graduated from is HERE in its 55th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread HERE
for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

HERE is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates. (Except it's not because I don't know how to link to the stats sheet!)

It's kind of reassuring to me that other people are scared shitless as well. We'll all get through it somehow and get our wee ones Smile

Just had a nice chat with the diabetes nurses as have had a ton of high results last couple of days. They think hormone surge. If tonight or morning is high I'm to up the metformin. She said it'll keep getting harder to manage till 34 weeks (which is an improvement on 36 weeks as one of the other told me). Bit disheartening when I'm restricting my diet, taking the pills and still getting high results!

oneyorkshirepud · 14/12/2015 16:29

Hmmm, she is now licking small cat's bum. Perhaps it wasn't a sign ha ha!

oneyorkshirepud · 14/12/2015 16:31

X post there! Stick with it Pretzel, not long to go now! Flowers

MollyBloomYes · 14/12/2015 16:31

Hypno didn't work fabulously for me but have done two lots of daisy birthing which I feel will equip me as well as poss should it come to it, breathing techniques etc. Will all be in my notes as well so hopefully midwives will be on it but will be ensuring they're left in no doubt! Or I may find astonishing reserves of inner strength after last few weeks and sail through! Do rather feel like the hospital have deliberately fobbed me off and delayed for ages so that I have no choice but vbac tbh. Just annoys me because if I had a physical problem that would make vaginal birth difficult or impossible there'd be no quibbling but mental health is viewed so much more in terms of 'get over it' and sometimes it's joy so easy to do so!

pretzelpieces · 14/12/2015 16:35

Thanks pud, yeah 34 weeks is only a week a half away so if it peaks then at least I know what I'm dealing with.

molly you're so right that mental health isn't taken seriously enough. The registrar I saw last time was total rubbish with my anxieties over being induced - didn't want to answer my questions.

MollyBloomYes · 14/12/2015 16:46

I've really demonstrated that I've made every effort with trying to deal with it as well, gone to the classes, met with the specialist midwife, done my own preparation but still incredibly anxious! Incredibly frustrating, there's still a long way to go with mental health services and it shouldn't be luck of the draw really if you get a sympathetic hcp or not! Oh well, lap of the gods at this point really!

ThursdayLastWeek · 14/12/2015 16:49

Yes that really is unfair molly - my experience was so very different, but I expect that was exactly what it was, luck of the draw.

FeatheredTail · 14/12/2015 17:05

Thanks viroids.

After condemning the idea of purchasing a foetal doppler when Lil broached it, I am now considering one....well, that or finding my local farmer and demanding a scan with his cow scanner.

Jcandy · 14/12/2015 17:10

Just had my first sweep, was 1cm dilated central, soft and 1cm long apparently, whatever that means! Didn't hurt at all which was a nice surprise Smile

molly that isn't fair, is there anyone at the hospital you can speak to?

pret that must be hard for you but know that you are trying your best, some things you just can't control, hopefully it stabilises soon.

Haha midwife cat seems confused pud

CountryGal4 · 14/12/2015 17:48

Haha yes thurs! I find if I get those while I'm waking about I have to stop for fear of pissing in public!! Haha

honeysucklejasmine · 14/12/2015 17:55

Oooh JC! Exciting!

Country, Thursday tena lady. She is your friend. Never fear a sneeze again! I mean... You'll still piss yourself, but you won't get wet! Wink

I almost vommed on myself in car today. Had to breathe deeply in to my pot of gum then desperately chew a couple. It passed luckily, as I was in a very naice village with locals who would not have appreciated me spewing on the village green.

CountryGal4 · 14/12/2015 18:03

Well I haven't pissed myself yet......

jellypi3 · 14/12/2015 18:23

Yet...Wink

To be fair I only pissed once accidently when chundering so I've done quite well there.

Yay for sweep jc :) hope it wasn't too weird getting your fanjo inspected!

Today was the first time I've had to physically stop and take a break from just walking. I felt so knackered and my back and fanjo were killing me.

Talking of painful fanjo, mines been aching like mad. Could this be baby moving down?

oneyorkshirepud · 14/12/2015 18:35

Could be Jelly. Mine likes to punch me in the foof too. Which is nice.

Ooh JC that is exciting, definitely progress as your cervix will previously have been 3-5cm long, firm and not dilated. (Yes, I am currently obsessed with cervixes/cervi ) Hmm

Productive day here. I was going to batch cook some food for the freezer but decided to make truffles instead. Dark chocolate and cointreau, white chocolate and cardamom, white chocolate and raspberry and dark chocolate and salted caramel (NOM). Clearly these will keep us going when we have a new born. Ahem.

Illiria · 14/12/2015 18:46

Hi all, exciting times :-) hope all those due get a wriggle on.

I have had another bleed, my doctor had said it could happen and so long as it isn't painful or too much I am ok but to book an appointment if I want to but there wouldn't be anything they could do. So whilst I know that it shouldn't be anything apart from cervix irritation it is damn scary. Feeling a bit crap. Don't want to take more time off and another internal would just mean another bleed :-(

Sorry this is a me post, DH is freaked out and we have been trying so hard to just get to this point I don't think I could try again if this doesn't work out.

pretzelpieces · 14/12/2015 19:08

ill gx all is going to be just fine for you, it must be scary though. FlowersFlowers

jc Ooh sounds promising!

MollyBloomYes · 14/12/2015 19:32

I'll keeping everything crossed for you Thanks

I thought I'd do a bit of cervix inspection. Can't even reach it. Probs not an encouraging sign really is it?!

rdm10 · 14/12/2015 19:47

Viroids, long time no 'see'! I haven't posted something since ginormobaby was born-5 weeks tomorrow!!- and I haven't really kept up to date with reading either but I do keep an eye on you all on the Fb group. Just thought I'd check in and say hi and hope everyone is well. We must be super close to some more babies.

I never did a birth story and it almost feels like too long has passed to bore you all with it. But what I will say is that I did end up having an ElCS and it was so much better than I thought it would be.
I was hoping ginormobaby would come naturally but they didn't want him getting too big so booked a CS for 40+3. The day itself was so calm, even when in theatre everyone was really calm. The op itself wasn't painful, just weird if anything. Henry is absolutely perfect and even though he was a whopping 10lb 5 oz, he didn't look chunky. I thought he'd come out looking like a toddler but he was a tiny little thing (well to us anyway!?). We stayed on hospital for 2 nights but it was never really that painful. The recovery has been much easier than I was expecting too. I felt relatively human after a week or so and feel fully fine now. I was driving after 4 weeks.

So, although many of us would love a natural birth, just know that c-sections aren't really that scary!

ThursdayLastWeek · 14/12/2015 19:59

As a viroid with an elcs booked rdm that is just my kind of birth story Grin
Hope you're bearing up well?

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 14/12/2015 20:09

Thank you rdm for that lovely positive take on things. Intervention doesn't need to be traumatic!

ill can you request a scan to check on baby? FlowersChocolateCake

Feeling supwr shattered and hungry today... this baby is really kicking my ass... just last week I was bragging I could do this again... maybe definitely not.

Mermaid36 · 14/12/2015 20:11

Oh dear! I'm 7+5 and already in maternity trousers....today I obviously looked really preggers and someone thought I was about 5/6 months gone...

Had to disappoint them by explaining it was bloating not baby Blush

CarrotPuff · 14/12/2015 20:16

Oh Ill don't lose hope. I haven't had a sub chorionic haemotoma myself (I'm guessing that's what you've got) but from reading on here the only way for it to disappear is to bleed out. It must be really scary but please try to stay positive Thanks We're here to hand hold and listen.

Glad you had a positive experience rdm, well done!

Anyone got itchy stretch marks? I'm not sure if these are my old ones, or I'm getting new ones in the same place, but I almost scratched myself to blood under bump yesterday. It's not too bad today... Any remedies?

honeysucklejasmine · 14/12/2015 20:35

Ill hang on in there sweetheart. "This too shall pass", as Mumsnet says. (Or " fuck this shit" as JSers say.)

rdm lovely! Has H gained much more weight? DH and I both have family history of ginormababies so I have a growth scan booked for 36 weeks.

I have to say... I am much more worried about vaginal delivery that a CS. Prob because I have had abdominal surgery three times and been OK in recovery but experience immense pain having big things put in my vagina.

Like speculums, you filthy monsters.

Is it wrong to be gx for a large baby so I can request an ELCS? Blush

FeatheredTail · 14/12/2015 20:49

Ill, really hope you're ok. I must have missed what's causing the bleeding (a haematoma?) but have the doctors been reassuring? It must be so scary but we're all massively rooting for you. Pleeeeeeease consider taking another day off - being off your feet can't hurt and neither can day time snoozing. In the grand scheme, work can and will survive a day without you. Don't think about not begin able to try again - you haven't been told this pregnancy is a no go. Try to look forward and take comfort from Carrot having had something that's similar (?) and having a toddler to show for it. Hugs.

YogaPants · 14/12/2015 20:49

ill that sounds scary. How far along are you now?

It's nice to hear a positive birth story rdm! Is ginormobaby still on the large side post birth?

I hear you on the bump showing mermaid. Bump outed me at work today although I am 15 weeks 6 and I had to buy my first bits of maternity wear over the weekend as I feared waking up one morning and not having anything but my eponymous yoga pants that will fit!
