Lol fuzzy ! U made the word sound funny there !
I'm considering having a wee glass of fizz with Christmas dinner too , I did have the odd glass after the first trimester with DD
Times have changed , when my mum was pregnant she was told there was nothing wrong with getting ur feet up and having a glass , nowadays you get scorned ! Same with breastfeeding , they used to say a few sips would help baby sleep X
so going with everything should b ok with moderation Smile

Cookiesandcoffee · 13/12/2015 22:31

fuzzy I've always felt really awkward about saying the words 'I'm pregnant' for some reason.. I don't think I've ever said it!

gx I will also have a glass of something on Xmas day.. Even if I do pop some lemonade in there or something.

Me and DH had a rather disagreeing conversation about names tonight. We are literally screwed either gender. Completely apposing views. Sigh.

Coraltee123 · 13/12/2015 22:44

I feel so much better about it now lol. Just wanted to let you all know I found these sweets that help with sickness. They are sugar free barley ones think they are for diabetics but they seem to be working a treat!

Mordirig · 13/12/2015 22:51

Ah what a shame Cookies Me and DH are usually at odds with names, I picked DS's name and he picked DD's name and they were the only one's of each that the other liked!

We seem to be of the same mind this time around and already have our boy's name, it definitely won't change, and we have 2 girl names we both like.

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 14/12/2015 01:44

I woke up 45 mins ago with the worst trapped wind I've ever had in my life. It absolutely will not shift. Feel like I might die the pain is so terrible Sad

Loki17 · 14/12/2015 06:30

Me and dh never can agree on a name. With dd we had two names and then 3 days before I gave birth I decided I hated them. I think it was because we had such a small cross section of names. This time, we have a couple for a girl but nothing at all for a boy. In other news, my tummy has popped! Roll on the scan when I can allow myself to buy maternity clothes! it is going to be an uncomfortable week and a half!

wantingno2 · 14/12/2015 06:33

Thanks cookies and gx91 I really feel I'm suffering from anxiety this time I never felt like this with my son I just feel like OMG how am I going to cope with 2 I'm lacking in patience at the moment and my moods are low and very snappy but I read that apparently if your pregnant with a girl you need more hormones to maintain the pregnancy so it's more likely to make you have antenatal depression due to the high amount of hormones I don't no how true it is but it's got me thinking x

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 14/12/2015 07:08

What an awful night. Pain from trapped wind lessened a bit after I posted last, but didn't go enough to let me sleep until about 4.30. I'm knackered now - really don't want to go to work!

pulpi · 14/12/2015 07:35

And just when we got settled back home, it's off again on a plane. This time we're off to Canada to visit the family. Not really looking forward to the long flight, but I'm going to pack plenty of snacks and the DH has placed plastic sick bags in every piece of hand luggage. Potentially Excorist moments aside, I am so excited to get to Canada and tell my parents. They know how we struggled for a year to get pregnant and I think this'll send them right over the top.

Oh, also got my booking appointment and first scan dates for Ninewells up in Dundee. Jan 11 for the appointment (and maybe heartbeat?!?!) and Jan 14 for the first scan.

Kaytee1987 · 14/12/2015 08:25

Sorry to hear about those with trapped wind, there's nothing worse it's so painful!
My nausea is definately getting worse Envy

Bluebell20 · 14/12/2015 08:32

Sorry about the lack of sleep, youandme.

I too woke up in the night, in pain because I needed a wee. This has happened quite a few times in the last few weeks - I'm a bit too good at ignoring the need for the toilet until it actually hurts and wakes me up properly.

However, I was surprised because the wee wasn't very big. Then when I went back to bed I still had a couple of sharp pulses of pain in that area. Went back to sleep for a couple of hours, when I woke up I found I was still getting the odd pulse of pain, although not as sharp.

I am really worried girlies :( no blood though, so that's got to be good? Maybe it's a urine infection....

Kaytee1987 · 14/12/2015 08:45

Bluebell that's happened to me on occasion even before being pregnant, I think it's due to holding your wee in for too long. It could also be a urine infection, try some pure cranberry juice and lots of water and see if that helps xx

Bluebell20 · 14/12/2015 08:57

Thank you Kaytee xxx

Cheery1 · 14/12/2015 09:33

Morning ladies -
youandme - you poor thing! Sure you'll sleep like a log tonight to catch up but so horrible and scary. I thought I was cramping early on and it was trapped wind. Horrid.

bluebell - as a cystitis veteran, it definitely sounds like a UTI. Apparently more prone than ever in pregnancy. Do you get an urgent need to wee then not much and a bit of burning after? Drink plenty of water, cranberry juice also good (mix water and cranberry juice to make it less tart). Also recommend bottle washing for prevention and no tight trousers! I'd also phone your GP. Hope you feel better. Xxx

Cheery1 · 14/12/2015 09:38

P.s. They can pass really quickly if you flush them out. As Kaytee says, can be be from holding it in too much. Try not to worry xx

Scase1firsttimemum · 14/12/2015 09:52

Hello ! I got told to join the July 2016 thread and oh my it was difficult to find a thread thats open! Haha
I am pregnant with my first and am currently 9+5 so due 13th July :)
Everyone seems so supporting on this thread I love it ☺️ I did read some upsetting stories and the way everyone helps out is amazing love it😊
And for symptoms Ive had well its been good and horrible! I had terrible morning sickness a couple weeks ago, I had to be sent home from work! I am hungry all. The. Time. Cans of coke seem to be a thing for me and I did have a strong craving for apples!
Having a few blood tests today and hoping to get my scan date soon :)

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 14/12/2015 10:00

Thanks for the sympathy girls! It was horrendous. My upper back is killing now, I think from being contorted into weird positions all night!

Gx91 · 14/12/2015 10:00

Cookies - I am completely avoiding the name thing until later , I brought it up the other night and went to bed angry with OH not agreeing at all ( will wait til in huge ) to remind him what I'm going thru for us to have another child , he is stuck in his ways with naming a boy after his dad ( I would rather it was the middle name ) Angry X
You and me - trapped wind is agony , Iv been making sure I don't hold back really is annoying OH must b getting sick of it lol X
Wanting - you should tell ur midwife how u are feeling , they will make sure that u get more appointments so that can talk to u about ur mood , I found last time it really helped although didn't stop it completely , when DD arrived all the anxiety left , pregnancy really does test the body ( it's hard work ) u will be fine just don't b afraid to ask for the help or talk about it , they understand Smile X
Pulpi - great uv got ur booking app and scan sorted , think they mibi could get a heartbeat at ur app , I can't remember wen the Doppler can pick it up X
Bluebell - I get sharp pains I the bladder after holding in a big wee , they usually go away after about 10 minutes tho , the girls r probably right , if it's the start of a urine infection try to flush it out with loads of water , think tea is best avoided . Look out for other symptoms aswell for uti and mibi pop a wee sample in to the docs X cheery and kaytee seem to have nailed that on the head Grin xx

Bluebell20 · 14/12/2015 10:14

Welcome Scase!

Thanks so much Kaytee, Cheery and Gx. The pain has completely gone away now and I think you are all right, it's wee-related! I'm going to drink lots and lots of water and get some cranberry juice today. I won't go to the doctor just yet as I feel fine now, but if it happens again I'll drop in a sample.

We started talking about names yesterday! I was really pleased, as DH brought it up. We've got one we both really like for a boy (DH's suggestion), and one we both quite like for a girl (my suggestion), but the girl's one is also my nan's name, and I think DH would rather we chose something unique. It's funny - I thought I would find it easier to think of girls' names, but I don't at all!

Bluebell20 · 14/12/2015 10:17

Oh Lordy, I just played 'Baby name finder' on Mumsnet, and it ACTUALLY came up with the 'unusual' boy's name we had picked out! ARRGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Gx91 · 14/12/2015 10:23

Lol imagine that bluebell maybe it's a sign !! Grin xx

Scase1firsttimemum · 14/12/2015 10:28

Ahh baby names! I love talking about baby names ☺️ My partner and I have a name for each gender that we both like (girls name suggested by him and the boys suggested by me) although our littlw munchkin wasnt planned, we both couldnt be happier! He has been so supportive of the horrible symptoms Ive had and has been the target of my terrible mood swings but he couldnt be more excited to become a Dad ☺️

Gx91 · 14/12/2015 10:32

Scase that's lovely ! Sounds like he's doing a great job looking after u! Glad u guys aren't arguing about names too that makes it nice and easy for u by the time baby comes Smile lol xx

Woodsy81 · 14/12/2015 11:02

you and me, trapped wind is just so horrible. I am sure that is what my 4 monthly pain is. I get it for 8 hours solid and it always happens at night- Doc says its just IBS but it is the most painful thing I have ever experienced. (so far! - I'm thinking childbirth might top it though). I also have after pain and tenderness for a good couple of days afterwards. I really hope you feel better soon. Stick to foods that are easy to digest for a couple of days and lots of liquid.

DH and I had a little chat about names last night and I think we have finally agreed on a boys name. DH came up with it after reading a baby name book in a shop yesterday (cute!). I had actually thought of the same name a few days ago but hadn't mentioned it as thought he would instantly veto it.

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 14/12/2015 11:12

Cookies we have ds1s birthday next week. I'm not sure how I will survive it I'm so shattered. You still have time to choose names so don't worry too much. We have a definite boys name and a few lovely choices for a girl.

Gx91 my mum always tells us how she used to put a drop of whisky in the bottle to help us sleep at night. Apparently it was on midwife advice. Don't worry I've not tried it and I won't be.

Youandme when I had awful trapped wind the other week I laid on the bed and rubbed my tummy in a clockwise direction being quite firm. It seemed to work but I know how painful it is.

Bluebell I would say the pain is from holding your wee. I get lots of sharp stabbing pains if I don't go to the loo. So often in the night as obviously I must be holding it in in my sleep.

Scase hi and congratulations. I can't drink coke at the moment I had cherry coke at the weekend and it made me feel so bloated and full.

I'm so cold all the time anyone else? No matter how long the heating is on for I just can't seem to warm up.
