Morning ladies (and welcome new ladies)!

Woodsy - what a gorgeous scan pic! So delighted for you!

G - I reckon don't panic, as Loki says women eat/drink/do all sorts of things they're not supposed to and go onto have healthy babies. Also I reckon mushroom pate is pretty safe compared to meat versions!

So tired today! Stayed up past 10pm as I had my best mate round and we were chatting til late! Feeling it today. Achy and tired Xmas Sad Very mildly crampy so panicking as this around the time I mc last time. Just got to get through this week and think positive. Nervous and excited for scan next Sat

Happy Sunday all! Xmas Smile

Gx91 · 13/12/2015 08:52

Thanks cheery and culture !
I also love Brie ! Haven't had any but did eat a cooked Camembert mmmm X
Going to nip the worry in the bud and steer clear of all pate! X
Hope ur ok cheery , tiredness is the worst as it heightens all other symptoms too , hope u manage to get a catch up nap today , try not to worry I have had cramps on and off the whole time too I'm sure everything is just fine , I understand your concern tho but not long before u can see everything is just fine in there , make sure u get all the rest u need and u will feel much better Smile xx

Loki17 · 13/12/2015 08:55

I'm sure you will be fine G. I know how you feel. I ate scrambled eggs made by my dad and they were slightly runny. I beat myself up which was silly as I only ate a mouthful.

Gx91 · 13/12/2015 08:59

Loki It's crazy eh ! My mum makes quite funny scrambled eggs too , it puts u off straight away doesn't it ! Im sure u will be fine too Iv never actually heard of any pregnant woman getting food poisoning or salmonella , this countries approach to what's safe really do put the shits In you ! Xx

Cheery1 · 13/12/2015 09:28

Thanks G! Xx

Cheery1 · 13/12/2015 09:47

P.s. Apparently in Italy they tell pregnany women to avoid salad and strawberries but not rare meat and wine!

wantingno2 · 13/12/2015 11:28

Hey ladies
not posted for abit just been really tired and moody just didn't want to bring the thread down with my pitty party lol how is everyone doing x

Vikkijayne2507 · 13/12/2015 11:34

Im getting more and more excited as well as nervous about my scan next Monday, I just have a horrible feeling nothing will be there although I have no actual reason for thinking this and it was the same with ds at 12 week scan and all was perfectly fine, Ive been wrrying myself about mmc just hoping the exhaustion is a good sign and the random bouts of nausea are good signs. ive been utterly tired and have a cold as well which is just compounding the issue.

I wouldnt wory too much about the veggie pate mention to your midwife but dont fret too much.

9 + 6 weeks

Hamsolo · 13/12/2015 11:49

I have to say I thought the problem with pâté was vitamin A content because of it containing liver. I didn't realise it was a food poisoning thing. I think listeria is really rare though - as in 3 outbreaks in the last 20 years kind of rare. So honestly, don't overthink the pate.

Cheery1 · 13/12/2015 12:01

vicky - we're in sync! I've had horrible cold too and 9+6. Miserable as you can't take anything. Pharmacist offered me lockets, I ask you....lockets?!!

wanting - you're allowed a pity party! Hope you feel better soon xx

Ellizardo · 13/12/2015 12:22

Cheery - ha ha Lockets! How about a slice of lemon in hot water?!

Am off for roast chicken with my parents in a minute, yum! Trying to distract myself from the scan and Harmony blood tests tomorrow morning. OH has delighted me by saying he can take me out to lunch straight after (usually it's all work all the time and he'd be back in office asap) so I'm semi looking forward to tomorrow now. Fingers crossed it's all peace of mind and that by Christmas we'll know everything chromosome-wise is fine plus the sex!

Love the scan pic Woodsy. I remember the consternation at the massive hooter on our 12 week scan last time!

Fuzzyducker - I feel the size of a house already. Was actually just looking at sacks coats in the sales as can't do up my usual ones!

Ellizardo · 13/12/2015 12:24

PS Woodsy - needlesstosay, it's obviously some scan trick as DS1 has regular nose!

Cheery1 · 13/12/2015 13:11

Elizardo - I've been chugging hot water with lemon and honey, alas not lemsip! Ah well on the mend now :)

Sounds like you need a good movie or a book to distract you! Or clear out a cupboard....? Good luck for tomorrow, let us know how you go! X

Bluebell20 · 13/12/2015 13:34

Nice scan pic, Woodsy!

Vikki, I have my scan a week on Monday too, and I'm the same as you - excited but so nervous! And wondering if I will have to wait extra long for the screening results because of Christmas.

I definitely, definitely have a teeny tiny bump now. It doesn't go away when I breathe in! Totally invisible unless I have my clothes off, though!

I've got quite a bit more energy now so hoping that things are picking up for the second trimester!

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 13/12/2015 15:00

It makes me quite sad to think that it will be weeks and weeks before I actually look pregnant, if indeed I ever really do. That's the downside of being overweight - I already had a big flabby belly, and it doesn't look much different now. I think it's slightly firmer, but since no one else is going to be pressing on it, that won't do me much good!

mascaraisamust · 13/12/2015 15:27

Gosh does anyone have no energy at the weekend? Xmas shopping for a couple of hours yesterday and I fell asleep on the way home and today I've been to my booking in appointment and done the dishwasher and literally not moved off the sofa since midday. Feel like such a lazy so and so... You know when you have stuff to do too! Even the thought of going to the kitchen I'm feeling like I can't be bothered! Maybe I am just lazy!

Loki17 · 13/12/2015 15:44

I feel exhausted too! I keep falling to sleep as soon as dd goes to bed!

Woodsy81 · 13/12/2015 16:08

Thanks for all the lovely comments on our scan pic and thanks for the reassurance on the normal nose size Ellizardo. I will pass this on to concerned DH. Grin
Mascara, my excuse when I am feeling a bit lazy is that I need to take advantage of any time I get to rest. When our little bundles arrive, that time to rest will become few and far between. So put your feet up with a cuppa...and a few biscuits. Brew

I had some shopping time to myself today. Went to get measured for maternity bras. Have been putting off everything to do with pregnancy/baby shopping....but I cannot ignore the size of my boobs any longer. Turns out I have gone from a 34C-D to 34E-FF depending on the brand. And god these bras are not pretty! Oh well....needs must. Think I'll be getting undressed in double quick time so DH doesn't have to look at my ugly bras. Lol.
Also allowed myself to look at baby clothes. They are just so soft and small but still can't quite believe I'm going to have to squeeze a baby that size out of me in a few months. Eeeeek. Shock

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 13/12/2015 16:17

Goodness ladies I have a mini break from this as we've had a busy weekend and you've almost filled a third thread haha.

Mascara I'm always tired. We went to Milton Keynes to take the toddler to see Santa. Usually I love it but I was exhausted I just wanted to go. Fell asleep on the way home. I was also a major grump as I was hungry. I'm awful when hungry and tired at the moment. Poor DH.

Youandme don't worry I feel the same that it's going to take ages for me to look pregnant as i have a big tubby belly already. I do feel enormous at the minute.

Gx91 obviously being on number 4 I'm rather relaxed about all the eating guidelines. The way I look at it in my mums day there were no eating or drinking guidelines and my siblings and I all turned out fine. I eat peanuts and did during my last pregnancy( ds3 has no nut allergy) , I eat prawns, I eat some of the soft cheeses if well baked. I will have a glass of Buck's Fizz on Christmas Day and probably a glass of fizz with dinner.

I can't wait to tell family and have this scan. I'm on a daily countdown.

10+3

Kaytee1987 · 13/12/2015 16:21

Mascara I'm completely shattered too! Been working half the day at home and now decided I'm going to get a cleaner if I can find a decent one. Too tired to even consider cleaning the house and DH already does all the shopping, cooking, dishes and jobs in garden/garage.
I'm 8 weeks today and most of my bras feel too tight and the jeans I put on today dug into my stomach meaning I had to change into leggings Shock I've put on 1lb now but my stomach looks rounder, it must be bloating though as uterus is still tucked away at this stage I'm sure! DH has commented on my tummy (in a nice way) think he finds it exciting.

mascaraisamust · 13/12/2015 17:26

I went clothes shopping yesterday and tried on a pair of jeans two sizes bigger and I couldn't do the button up! Nothing fits me! Goodness knows what respectable outfit I will wear xmas day! Kaytee had the same conversation about getting a cleaner with DH, even said that could be my xmas present! Desperate...

Beautician I'd love to have your laid back attitude, maybe next time Hmm

mascaraisamust · 13/12/2015 19:35

Ok I've eaten:
Shreddies
Beans on toast
Mince pie
A finger of a twix
A bag of Doritos and salsa (contains msg Shock didn't know this until I'd eaten it!
Dough balls and garlic butter
A margarita pizza
Some Pringles!
A banana

And dH has gone and bought syrup sponge and a bag of apples Hmm bad day.....

Cookiesandcoffee · 13/12/2015 20:00

Oh my goodness so much chat ladies! Have been super busy this weekend, has been DD2s birthday and lots of social events/other birthday parties. Definitely ready for bed.

Ladies I'm with beautician with the laid back attitude. Not to say I was like this first time round. I followed the book to a t then! The more you know about the level of risk etc should help. Guidelines are so different across countries etc, and they change over the years - eg eat nuts/don't eat nuts so I take it all with a pinch of salt. I have a very strong stomach so I have still eaten Brie for example as I feel the risks are so low. I hope you feel ok gx as worrying is not fun. If you feel anxious maybe speak to midwife?

Lovey scan pic woodsy and your comment about the nose made me laugh! I'm sure it will 100% be normal when he/she is bornSmile could it not be a hand?!

Jealous of the roast elliz I hope you can keep your mind at rest. Was it yummy? Best of luck for tomorrow Grin I'm sure everything will be fine. Have a lovely lunch too (mine is a DH that would go straight back to work!)

wanting you pity away. We all need to do it at times. I know I sure have! Hope you're feeling better soon. It just isn't the time of year to feel crappy and have no energy is it?!

coral your post made me laugh. A lot. I had the same last pregnancy and not much better this time but it does come and go. His very existence irritates me! And funnily enough it did rear its ugly head again during labour Blush if it makes you feel better this was 3 years ago and we are happily married really Grin

loki I would maybe make a docs appointment? Just incase it's a UTI. I used to get a thrush like feeing quite often. It wasn't what I call 'full blown' thrush but did go away with thrush treatment. Ever since I changed to an 'intimate wash' for the area and it's made a world of difference, very rare I get any 'upset' now.

Gx91 · 13/12/2015 20:40

Thank u all for the posts about what u can eat , I feel so much better now , I said I was going to be more laid back second time around and had my first real flakey last night ! Lol sure me and baby will b just fine !

Loki a thrush cream wouldn't hurt to see if it helps especially if it itchy Blush thrush is the worst , if u think it could b a uti mibi take a urine sample into the docs as they are also very common during pregnancy , I always hav a tube of canisten in the bathroom cabinet as I get mild thrush from time to time and like to nip it in the bud before it gets bad X
Wanting lol we welcome all pity parties ! Lol think there will be more than a few in here ! X
My midwife has put an amber alert on my file as last pregnancy I suffered from pregnancy anxiety so they had to monitor my mood , didn't even know what I was anxious about , just couldn't shake the feeling , felt stupid because I couldn't explain y I was feeling like that X
If it helps to speak on here I would say do it if it makes u feel better x

FuzzyDucker · 13/12/2015 20:45

I wouldn't worry about the pate at all. If I felt like eating (bloody morning sickness) I'd happily have uncooked Brie (in this country most of it you buy is made from pasteurised milk anyway), tuna, glass of wine now and then, and my favourite home made by me raw egg mayo with eggs from own, unvaccinated chickens. Very laid back here! But also very healthy and not prone to things.

We told some friends today as I'm too fat and sick to get away with it much longer. Was fun. I find it hard telling people as I don't like saying the word pregnant... It sounds funny!
