Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Piffle · 10/01/2007 14:24

I had stretchmarks with ds no new ones with dd but they recur somewhat
I have the same old ones making a reappearnace now, I nevef bothered moisturising before but this time have lovely Clarins oil that feels great and smells gorgeous so at least skin feels supple.
Having been almost free of SPD since I had my appendix out (think the 2 wks bed rest saw it off) it is creeping back. Also feeling light headed sometimes.
Getting quite a few hard Braxton Hicks too which push baby down and feel quite erm.. weirdy.

Aside fromt hat the insomnia is the worst thing really.

30 wks
a Boy!
Hooray for me finding out although at a 29 wks scan it was obvious

DollyPopsIn · 10/01/2007 14:43

I am not doing the imsomnia yet - I get up at least 2x to wee, but fall back to sleep straight away (sorry). However, this was exactly the same with DD1, and once she was born I never got more than 2 hours for the first 3 months, so I am sure my time will come !!

sexkittyinwaiting · 10/01/2007 14:47

Piffle did you tell your Dh what you were having? He didn't want to know did he?

foxabout2pop · 10/01/2007 14:50

Dolly - shouldn't that be "Dolly Pops Out?"

foxabout2pop · 10/01/2007 14:50

Congrats Piffle - Just seen you're having a wee boy too

DollyPopsOut · 10/01/2007 15:03

Foxy, you are absolutely correct of course!

Acc my nearest and dearest, I didn't look pg (ie just looked fat!) til about 3 weeks ago then I mushroomed. My MIL (not dear and thankfully not that near either) greeted me on C'mas eve, before hello / good journey etc with "you're looking very plump".

Anyone got their brown line yet? I haven't but am very pale anyway, and didn'get one last time til about 37 weeks. Got terrible pigment on the face though, and looked like I was sporting a quality 'tache until DD1 was about 6 months old.

You can tell a lot of quality work is being done here this pm .

LunarSea · 10/01/2007 15:04

Amie - are you still on for the Aquanatal tomorrow? Guess I need to dig out a costume (and hope it still fits!) tonight.

TheBlonde · 10/01/2007 15:17

Moss - I have stretchmarks from puberty but none from DS
Hoping not to add any more with this pg but they do fade so I'm not too worried
I think drinking lots of water helps

Dolly - I'm a bit concerned about the bfing too. DS selfweaned about 15/17 mths - I can't recall when but certainly by the time I was 12 weeks gone. Hopefully he won't show any interest!

TheBlonde · 10/01/2007 15:18

Never got the brown line on the tum so not expecting one this time

3rdTriMossTer · 10/01/2007 16:02

Thanks for all your stretch mark answers!

I guess I'll just get used to them!

Dolly, it's obvy true then, all the best people are born on April 4th

I have a slightly pink line rather than a brown line, but the rest of me is white as a sheet so you can still notice it!!

Yes, I'm doing quality work too

Piffle · 10/01/2007 16:10

I've not got the line yet, I know I had it both other times, cannot for life of me recall when it appeared
DP knew - I was so crap as little man was sucking his thumb in one of the scan photos and I said on the phone to dp after the scan (he was away with work)
It has long legs, chubby cheeks and HE was sucking his thumb
So kinda let the cat outta the bag - he's fine he laughed at me
PIl do not want to know though, have to train the kids...

I think I've had the line permenantly since 1998

sputnik · 10/01/2007 16:22

Hi everyone, just gatecrashing from the June thread to invite anyone who's interested to join the all-new, cross-thread ante-natal fitness club. Quick intro:

Some of us on the June thread wanted to get together and give each other some support and motivation for a bit of exercise in pregnancy, and, not wanting to disturb others on our thread who just wanted to chill out in peace, thanks, thought it'd be a good idea to set up a new thread for everyone on the ante-natal threads, all welcome.

We're not talking marathon training or anything here, but it would be great to have a place where we could share our experiences of exercise in all stages of pregnancy, swap tips and links, and gently motivate each other when we might be flagging a bit. I for one am in serious need of it, having spent xmas doing nothing more strenuous than chewing on quality streets.

So, who's up for it? Step right this way!

3rdTriMossTer · 10/01/2007 16:45

I'm sure I just posted a message but it's gone!

Anyway, hello sputnik, I admire your resolve but atm the 30 min walk part of my commute is rapidly spiraling out of control, took me nearly 45 minutes this morning!

I've never exercised really, apart from walking (and all right I did a brief stint of jogging for about two weeks a few years back before I realised I liked the trainers better for going to indie clubs!) but good luck to those who do!!

Mmmm... quality street...

Might join you if you do a post-pg one though!!

kiwibella · 10/01/2007 17:17

congrats on your news Piffle!!

Can I say a great big thank you to the advice and suggestions that have been left on my other thread. I feel a million times better after reading your comments.

I don't know what you mean by 'the line'... be it pink or brown?? Where should I be checking?? I haven't looked for stretchmarks either, not sure I could get a good look Hope you feel better about yours Mossy... I love Kitty's suggestions of 'mummy marks'. Gorgeous.

Rosy... hope you have had a great childfree day (and managed to find those bargains!).

Great to see you back Dolly... I don't have any suggestions about the jealous breastfeeder other than talking about how she has grown up etc and maybe being ready with her own doll to b/f when this bubba comes. I can see how it could be a tricky situation.

divastrop · 10/01/2007 17:17

i've never had that line in any of my pgs.

as for stretchmarks,my boobs were already covered in them cos they appeared in 2 weeks when i was 12.i got a few on my tummy with ds1,but i wasnt that bothered as i have a huge scar from having my appendix out so i never showed my belly off anyway.i was covered in them with dd1,my arms, legs, bum etc.the ones on my legs faded and the ones on my arms faded after a few weeks of using that bio-oil.i didnt get any more with the last 2,this time i seem to be getting more on my tummy on top of the old ones

i got my double buggy yesterday, which was very quick.its cool, well i think so and dd2 likes it too.

i actually did my upstairs housework this morning.its only cos i have to go to the hospital clinic tomorrow and i dont want to be worrying about anything.i also have an overwhelming desire to sort all the baby clothes out...

Kiwibella where is your other thread?

Diva what's your appointment for tomorrow?

kiwibella · 10/01/2007 17:41

it's
here Mossy...

I was only asking for alternative titles for a baby shower but some people seemed to think that having a baby shower at all was a silly idea. You might recognise a few names - we have a great bunch here .

Booboobedoo · 10/01/2007 17:48

Sorry you got a bit of flack on that thread kiwi. It was only really from one poster, and I've seen her being... err... 'contraversial' (for which read rude) on other threads in the last couple of days.

For now I've charitably decided she must be 'hormonal' (my own blanket excuse atm).

3rdTriMossTer · 10/01/2007 17:59

Kiwi I have posted on it too now. I've probably nothing constructive to add but wanted to show my support

rainbowgirl · 10/01/2007 18:09

grrrrr who ARE these miserable people on that thread?

as i said on your thread bella, i had a baby shower myself first time round, it was wonderful, i got totally spoiled and we even drank some wine as well as eating a lot of nice food, and talking baby stuff for hours... makes me sad 2 think of it now but i'm happy for you!

well, i'm moving tomorrow. i've been on hold for 35 minutes with Orange!! trying to change my internet connection over. diva did it really take you a week? after feeling initial relief at being offline for a while, i now feel panicked at the thought! although i haven't posted much lately, MN is a comfort.

oh well. better get back to packing. my ankles have swollen up like treetrunks

did i read something kitty about a) having a get-together at yours and b) you having a pool/being near a beach?

count me in!

in fact, can i come and stay now?

xx

Jaysecond · 10/01/2007 18:15

kiwi, did the link load for you on your other thread?

RE stretchmarks, like others i got them when i was going through puberty, mostly on my thighs but some on tummy, i always knew i would get them in pregnancy, however they didnt show there true colours till i was about 37 38 weeks, ( i was secretly hoping they had bypassed me...) anyway, after i gave birth i saw them properly for the first time, i was really shocked at first till DH said that i had the best tummy in the world as it had given him his firstborn...... awww sweet, i am expecting more this time round also!

btw..two years ago right at this minute DH and i were on our first date.....just wanted to share!!!

evenhope · 10/01/2007 18:39

Exercise?!

I struggle to get off the settee; have had to start staying in at lunchtimes because I can't climb the 4 flights of stairs back up to the office, and I've had to give up dancing. I feel like a beached whale.

Has anyone else reached that point (mentally) where you suddenly realise that actually there is going to be a baby at the end of this? I feel like I'm going a bit mad but I suddenly realised there isn't long to go, the other day, and thought "nope, don't think I want to do that". Having spent the first 3 months worried sick it'd fall out; the next 3 months worrying about tests and getting used to being pregnant I had completely forgotten what the point of it all is.

I blame the lack of sleep- up 4 times for a wee last night, and awake from 3am to 5.30am the night before. Is it me?

30+2 (girl)

kiwibella · 10/01/2007 18:39

Rainbow... I read that in your best Nikki from BB voice . Good luck with the move - keep thinking about spending time with your feet up in your new home!!!
