Thanks for the advice Loki! And thanks for being honest gx91 X

fairydust85 · 16/11/2015 22:23

Jumping over to this new post to hopefully keep up with what we are all going thru! I've managed to scare myself to death tonight while hubby's been at work. I'll go from reading a positive article to googling miscarriage statistics and then symptoms of a missed miscarriage....like seriously WHY am I doing this. I feel like sh*t now. Got another 5 weeks at least of feeling like this before I can have a scan and see if everything's ok or not. Driving myself barmy. Angry someone talk some sense into me :(

LuckyinOctober · 16/11/2015 22:28

Hello ladies, not posted in a few days as I've only had time to keep up with reading everyone else's chatty posts - learn something new every time I read! Glad to have a new thread set up, thanks Ellie. Was sorry to read Lily's news on the old thread. I'm starting to notice that my pregnancy hormones have given me extra empathy and an urge to mother everyone I come into contact with as well as constant nausea, super sense of smell, exhaustion and the other usual suspects. Anyone else finding that? For nausea I'm finding staying hydrated with plenty water, cactus juice, ginger supplement, ginger shower gel, ginger and lemon tea alternated with peppermint tea and snacking on nuts are just about keeping it manageable (not vomited yet fingers crossed!) Also more comfy having bought some stretchy waist work trousers in Next and some M&S maternity bras at the weekend.

It is quite funny :) and I am sure you will get her back, my mum still bangs on about all the embarrassing awful things we did - a mothers right I think X

And why do people do this scare thing!! I am looking forward to telling people our happy news I'm not looking forward to busy-bodies!! Heard all sorts of stories I really must stop googling

I for one will be having all the drugs possible and won't feel bad at all! When do you discuss birthing plans? As I don't know when to start looking into this properly, currently avoiding as that bit scares me!!

I must sleep although small cat is wanting love and attention little love will hardly leave me alone :) supervises me :)

Night night ladies x

Hello everyone,

Found out today I'm pregnany, still shocked but excited. We started trying last month so it's all happened fairly fast,

I've calculated due date as 20th July.

First pregnancy so any helpful tips, links etc welcome x

CultureSucksDownWords · 16/11/2015 23:35

Birth plans aren't particularly discussed until very near the end, as so much can change between now and then. You can make your own notes about it before then, and then use those to write the actual birth plan. Some people poo-poo the whole idea of birth plans, but I found it helpful to clarify my own thoughts on various things. It's also worth remembering that nothing can be guaranteed, so mine had lots of options and possibilities written out for different circumstances.

Vickie360 · 16/11/2015 23:52

IComeUndone · 17/11/2015 06:47

Hi everyone. I hope everyone is ok.

I haven't posted the past couple of days as I've been stressing about my 2 day hcg blood results.

I had my second bloods took on Sunday afternoon and managed to get the nurse to tell me what my hcg levels were on Friday. They were 57 Sad so I spent all of Sunday worrying myself sick (literally) about Monday morning which means I didn't have the best time at dm's for Sunday dinner. It was worse as only me and dp know, I'm incredibly close to dm and dsis who was also there. It was sooo difficult hiding it from them.
Any way EPU rang me first thing yesterday and my hcg levels have more than doubled so they have booked me in for a scan on Saturday to make sure bean is in the right place. Staying positive for now as hcg levels are good and symptoms are getting worse/more noticeable. Its crazy how you want to feel yucky for some kind of reassurance that everything is ok Confused.
I hope everyone has a good day, congrats to all the newbies and un- mumsnetty hugs to all those suffering bad with symptoms Flowers xx

4+6 today

Gx91 · 17/11/2015 07:14

Icomeundone- glad ur HCG levels are kicking into action , and that's great they are going to do a scan just to make sure X hoping u can sign relief after it and mibi ul get to have ur first look at the little bean X good luck to u and symptoms getting worse surely a good sign Smile x

fairydust85 · 17/11/2015 07:31

Morning everyone :) does anyone else get tummy ache when 1st waking up? I just got tummy ache across my whole tummy where my belly button is....it came and went but these things scare me. Is it just my body waking up or was it just cos I needed the loo lol

AndersArms · 17/11/2015 07:45

Told my DPs last night who were lovely about it - had braced myself for concerns (am healthy but v overweight and also my family's main earner and another mat leave is going to affect progression) - but they were lovely and I feel good about that. Picked my timing well though - I happened to be in Paris for work on Friday-Saturday so when I spoke to them yesterday I think they were very much relieved to be hearing I was ok. (I was far from events and only mildly inconvenienced by it all which is nothing in the circumstances).

I will almost certainly have my third CS. DD was quite a traumatic EMCS, DS was a lovely smooth ELCS and the Reg said afterwards that future births should be sections.

IComeUndone · 17/11/2015 07:49

Thanks Gx91 Smile

Fairydust all my cramps seem to be worse first thing and right at the end of the day. My stomach cramps are mostly down to trapped wind Blush, I had it with previous pregnancies quite bad. Pregnancy does cause havoc on my and most peoples (I think) digestive system in pretty much every way it can which sucks a bit.
Hope you're not feeling too bad xx

redstrawberries101 · 17/11/2015 07:53

Morning everyone

I'm obsessed with checking this thread and the preg app to see what's going on lol!

Icomeundone sorry to hear but keep your head up there is still hope

Fairy dust no tummy ache for me but we are all having quite a range of symptoms! I've come out in red painful spots :(

Welcome
To the newbies!

Are any of you exercising? If so what kind?

fairydust85 · 17/11/2015 07:59

Thanks girlies I feel better after a toilet trip haha ;) every little thing scares me to death. I nearly took a test to make sure I'm still preggo but I've had a word with myself to stop being daft! Lol!

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken · 17/11/2015 08:33

melvali I'm continuing to do Zumba and body pump classed as I'm already a little bit overweight do trying to keep it all under control. I'm away at the moment with DH for a long weekend break so we did a 3.5 hour hike through the Suffolk countryside yesterday - absolute killer on my hips for some reason and found myself getting out of breath quicker than usual but apart from that absolutely fine. I've just ordered a pregnancy Pilates DVD on eBay as well (99p bargain!) I've heard that keeping active during your pregnancy makes labour easier so will try to keep up as much as possible. Not having many symptoms at the mo apart from sore nipples and mild nausea so it makes getting out and about a lot easier. Are you doing any exercise? If so which ones?x

Jem01 · 17/11/2015 09:03

Thanks Ellie bought some ginger biscuits this morning!

Loki your labour story made me laugh, will make a great story for daughter's future boyfriend!

Ellizardo my scan is also 4th Jan

Icomeundone good to hear they'll do a scan on Sat, not long to go for that now. Hopefully that should put your mind at ease.

melvali Not much exercise, Zumba once a week and lots of walking (if that counts?)

Welcome Jo6526 and Vickie360 and congrats :-)

redstrawberries101 · 17/11/2015 09:05

Thanks allthegoodnamez!

I just wondered really. I was still trying to build up my fitness after my op before I fell preg, I was able to manage the gym twice a week only and but the third time I was ok exhausted and would get run down infection etc and vicious circle. But leading up to TTC I wasn't doing much (due to family circumstances time constraints) apart from focusing on my steps and trying to build them up. I'm only managing 5000 steps!

For the pregnancy, I was advised not to put my body under any more stress as given my medical history the preg will be stressful enough for it, but to try stretching regularly. I'm still trying to keep going with 5000 steps and build it up, and having done Pilates for the first year after my op I thought I could start that too as its gentle. I do feel like I need a good stretch because my legs and hips feel so tight.

Don't know about anyone else but I'm just so exhausted at the moment getting through the day is enough !

Hope you enjoy your long weekend!!

Bluebell20 · 17/11/2015 09:13

Loki, your birth story was scary, then beautiful, then hilarious! Loved it.

Welcome Jo and Vickie!

IComeUndone, sounds like things are progressing as they should. Fingers crossed for your scan.

Melvali, I normally gym or swim two or three times a week, and am planning to keep going with that. However, because I've been so coughy yucky, I've not been able to do any exercise for about a fortnight, which is very annoying as I think it would make me feel better. Swimming is supposed to be very good during pregnancy because it takes the weight off your feet!

Well ladies, this morning I feel queasy and for the first time I can't bring myself to eat anything :( Darn it.

Our plans for a Christmas reveal to our families are totally scuppered now as DH's parents, my dad, and both of our brothers know! But we are still keeping it quiet from wider family until we know everything's fine with the scan.

I had such a funny dream last night. My mum died 11 years ago, and much as I love and miss her, I rarely dream about her. However, last night I dreamed that she had told the whole of our wider family that I am pregnant! I was so cross with her, but didn't want to upset her by being cross, so was trying to hold the annoyance in!!! Woke up and told MIL, and she pointed out that dream-mum must have been very excited about me being pregnant to have told the whole family. Which then made MIL cry! Bless.

Hi everyone
I haven't really posted for ages. I just feel so sick in the evenings I can't bear to look at a screen for long. So by the time I catch up on the thread I can't look at my tablet any more to type! Spending my evenings eating or sleeping. I'm not actually being sick just feeling so so nauseous most of the time. It must be so obvious at work. I've got my sickness wrist bands on and everything. But I don't care anymore just have to get through this nausea.

Hope everyone else I ok.

Oh and I've booked a private scan for this Saturday. I'll be exactly 8 weeks. I'm getting too impatient and just want to hear a heartbeat for peace of mind. I really didn't want to spend the money but its worth it I think. 4 weeks feels like a lifetime away at the moment! I'll let you know how it goes Smile

Woodsy81 · 17/11/2015 09:28

Morning everyone,
Today is the first day I have woken up and actually 'feel' pregnant if that makes sense. Although there is still a lack of nausea, I have noticed my boobs getting bigger everyday and my stomach getting a little rounder - though thats probably just bloating. We are booking a private scan for 10 weeks - I know that's just before 12 weeks, but we are just really busy up until then. The thought that all going well, we get to see our little button in just over 2 weeks is an exciting prospect. :)

I've got a scan booked for Saturday too, Sonia. Hope yours goes well! I think I'm going to be 8+1.

SoniaShoe · 17/11/2015 09:55

Ah great youandme it will be great to hear about yours too. I'm 7 plus 3 (can't find a plus sign on this phone!) today so you're a day ahead.

Do you think we should do another stats list? I find them quite useful to refer to (or I'm just nosy). Maybe we could start a new one instead of copying over as I hate the idea if taking people off? I'll start it anyway...
