Just dropping in to say my scan went well - baby (just the one, happily - I kept having dreams about twins!) measuring correctly for dates, in the right place, little heart beating away. My bladder wasn't as full as it could have been so the pictures aren't super clear. Worth bearing in mind - the sonographer said it is best if you're really bursting for the loo!

redstrawberries101 · 21/11/2015 15:37

Hope all of you with medical conditions get the appropriate level of care. My GP has recommended I take antibiotics throughout pregnancy (I was prescribed them life long following spleen removal but only took them continuously for 2 years). I don't particularly want to but he said that pregnancy further suppresses the immune system so I would be risking mine and my baby's life.

Can anyone offer any advice? Thoughts? Would be really grateful. X

redstrawberries101 · 21/11/2015 15:37

You and me, really happy for you! Smile

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 21/11/2015 15:39

Thanks Mel.

Ellie I'm sorry I spent all that money on tests now - if only I'd known I just had to pee in a dish of vinegar! I wonder what kind of vinegar you would need to use???

EllieJayJay · 21/11/2015 15:40

That's wonderful you and me I'm so very pleased how many weeks are you??

Am wondering if I will get an internal or external, I will be 7+4 on Tuesday :)

Also thinking its twins, DP keeps dreaming of triplets

It's so lovely hearing the news about people's scans xx

And you and me I don't know but I think it would have to be from Waitrose surely?? And none of that "essential" stuff

It's gross, and I'm unable to tell when it will happen or not, it's only every once in a while for me but when it does happen it's horrible x

Hi all. I hope everyone is doing ok.
I haven't been on much as I've been stressing about my scan this morning.
I have put a thread in pregnancy (don't know how to link on phone) about the possibility of there being 2 gestational sacs. They have now put me at 3-4 weeks as hcg levels are good but no yolk sac in either sac yet.
There were to black areas on the scan that both looked like sacs to me but the sonographer said one could possibly be a bleed. Midwife I saw after didn't mention a bleed but a possible twin pregnancy although neither can be classed as viable yet. I have to go back next week for another scan.
Does anyone have any experience of this? I'm trying to get my head around the possibility of having twins Shock xx

lilygirl81 · 21/11/2015 16:34

Mel I can understand how concerned you are about taking antibiotics, but sounds like the best for both you and the baby. I suffer from severe chronic pain, and can't walk without crutches or using my wheelchair. When I spoke to my GP they switched me on to morphine, which they have said I can take until later on in pregnancy. I'm trying to just take the lowest dose I can, but without it I really would be bed bound. Luckily I have a TENS machine which will be getting lots of use rather than popping another pill

EllieJayJay · 21/11/2015 17:06

icomeundone* no experience but I hope your ok xx

I will try to find your thread for you and post on here X I just click on the browser part copy and paste xx

Welcome cheery - best exercise is swimming or good long walks at this stage I think.

Bumpandgrind - there is no harm in self-referring direct to your local hospital (will you be going to the same one you went to before with HG? if so, the maternity / antenatal wards will have your records on file...I would also just let the GP know too

Youandme - so pleased for you. Twins?! I am having anxiety dreams about that too. Argh!

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 21/11/2015 17:34

Yes it was a relief that it wasn't twins!

According to the scan I'm 8+3, which is a day or two further on than I thought, but the sonographer said there's a few days margin of error this early. I'm pretty definite about when I ovulated, so I'm reasonably sure of my dates. It's a bit academic really though.

Jo6526 · 21/11/2015 18:42

Just catching up on all the posts!

Happy Saturday girls, I went for cycle this morning then for a blowdry. Visited my best friend who had baby girl 2 weeks ago. Undecided wether to go for dinner tonight or chill in front of TV. It's so cold in Scotland!

I'm feeling a bit like a fraud today, I have no symptoms at all apart from some bloating I feel great! Stating to think I'm imagining I'm pregnant GrinConfused

EllieJayJay · 21/11/2015 18:57

Sounds nice Jo I had haircut yesterday and did make me feel lifted X I'm down south and cold here too, curled up on sofa with kitten and crackers :) and Google

Ladies I know it's a long time until July, but have just seen people raving about Dermoplast... It's a spray for your delicate areas and it is apparently a life saver :) you need the blue can though :)

Expensive but apparently it enables you to pee without dying in pain X and the pads underneath apparently are also good.
