The fact that you have been hoovering is positive actually because you may have just pulled a muscle.

Elliejayjay after my ordeal this past week I was barely looking after myself and last night did my threading and this morning put on a honey and oat facemask , just showered now with a lovely smelling scrub from next. Important to pamper ourselves. X

Gx91 · 21/11/2015 13:02

Roto - I would call the private one aswell and explain ur situation , they may offer u discount or see u because Belfast hospital can't , worth an ask I suppose as 100 is a lot hope ur doing ok glad the bleeding had stopped X
Ellie - makes u wonder what oils they r burning if they aren't good for pregnancy they probs aren't very good for us ! Lol
Totally agree with pampering urself , I'm gona get some stuff from lush on wed when I meet my gran for lunch , she will probably buy them for me ( she can't help herself ) Smile X
Just getting ready to go swimming with DD and my sister , don't get much of a swim tho normally just bobbing around with the little one lol x

EllieJayJay · 21/11/2015 13:03

They really should scan straight away, it's terrible - the other ladies are right if you can try and relax and wait until Monday then do, only you know how you feel xx but I'd be trying A&E for sure if your worried your worried and they should see you. I keep all my fingers crossed for you xx

mel I can't imagine what it was like for you xx I'm glad you have taken some pamper time - well deserved for all of us but especially you and some of the other ladies who have been stressed this week. X

Hi all

roto that sounds really scary I hope you're ok now. As the others said it could have been the hoovering and now its stopped? Monday will seem like a lifetime away but they may know more by then than they could tell you now so you may not get anything conclusive if you could be seen today or tomorrow anyway?

Hello ladies,

Am new to the thread, dd 11th July 2016. I'm 36 and had a miscarriage in April at 11 weeks so really anxious this time! Delighted to be expecting again but worrying about everything! I had 6 week reassurance scan on Weds and all looks fine so far so keeping everything crossed. Also normally I run about 25 miles a week and I've decided not to run this time, doesn't feel right but cold do with something to help relax me - I'm realising how much I rely on running and wine!! Tried to go to a yoga a class today and got sent home by the lovely instructor and she doesn't recommend it in the first trimester. Not sure what I can do bar sit on the sofa and eat biscuits.

Lovely to be able to chat to other expectant mummies, hope everyone is having a good Saturday :)
xxxxxx

SoniaShoe · 21/11/2015 13:13

I had my 8 week reassurance scan this morning and it went really well. Saw a heartbeat and got some pics. The measurements were right for 8 weeks too. Was so glad I had done it, I wasn't planning to until this week I changed my mind because its a lot of money but the reassurance is amazing.

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 21/11/2015 13:15

Glad it went well Sonia. Mine is in an hour - I'm drinking a pint of water now as instructed! I am unbelievably nervous.

Will be thinking of you Ro - hope everything turns out fine.

Cheery1 · 21/11/2015 13:19

P.S. Roto - I'm keeping everything crossed for you that all is well. As the other ladies have said, it could be absolutely nothing. So many women have the symptoms that you have and go to full term with a happy healthy baby, it seems like there is no normal!

Cheery1 · 21/11/2015 13:20

Good luck with 8 week scan - YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut xx

SoniaShoe · 21/11/2015 13:38

Welcome to tsoso and cheery and congratulations to you both !

Cheery1 · 21/11/2015 13:46

EllieJayJay · 21/11/2015 13:54

Welcome new ladies xx

cheery there are worse things than sitting in the sofa eating biscuits :)

I've been eating cheese, crisps and drinking fruit juice... And today I have migrated to fudge :) can't run due to huge boobs

I think if I don't get offered a reassurance scan I will pay for a private one the week before christmas.

They do then in my local city, which is about a 15 min drive away for £99. But If I go a 45 min drive away I can get one for £65. If I go an hour away £40.

I don't know where to go.

(Chester, Warrington or St Helens)

Do they do early nhs scans if your last pregnancy ended up high risk with a 31 weeker? I don't know if it's just for loses and ectopics?

Chocolatekeepsmesane · 21/11/2015 14:10

Roto fingers crossed for you. Hopefully it's just some implantation bleeding, I had this with my 4th but it scared me so much.
The waiting is the hardest take care Flowers Chocolate

Cheery1 · 21/11/2015 14:14

EllieJayJay - that is very true! I don't mind really as long as doing the right thing, so hard to know what's for the best!

Cheery1 · 21/11/2015 14:16

BumpAndGrind - I think if you're super anxious contact your nearest EPU, they'll try to fit you in from what I hear. No good feeling really stressed! If not definitely worth going private to put your mind at ease.
xx

MissClarke86 · 21/11/2015 14:19

Hi all, can I join? Got my BFP yesterday and predicted date is 26th July.

I've only been off the pill a month and this is my first 'cycle' so it's happened very quickly!! My dates might be a bit iffy for that reason.

I feel very very weird. Is that normal!? I'm happy, but it just feels strange! We were going to try properly after Christmas and I think I thought it'd take a few months for my body to get up to speed.

Rang my doctors and they just said to pop in on Tuesday and pick up a form for a blood test...but didn't mention needing an appointment? Can anyone explain what happens now!?

EllieJayJay · 21/11/2015 14:36

I just saw a thread April 2016 babies so thought I'd be nosey lool

So I didn't look very far just the first post and it was only their second post which they started in August and their only about to start their third... I'm so glad we are such a chatty bunch :) :) were not even out of November and were nearly on thread 3

So my observation wasn't to be mean it was just to say I'm so glad we have each other xx

Last time I had very severe HG, was hospitalised a few times, tore my oesophagus 3 times, cracked ribs, etc from being sick. At my 20 wk scan, the babies limbs were all measuring too small and I went onto weekly scans and under consultant care. She had multiple soft markers for downs and dwarfism.

I slipped over at 31 weeks and crack my tailbone, 3 days later I had a sudden PPROM and she arrived less that 4 hours later.

It was all hell on earth and I feel mad for even trying again but I'm sure sure if any of that warrants the extra early scan.

My DD is fine, bright, healthy and about 70th percentile for actual age weight and height (she is 2 now).

No symptoms so far. I'm 5 weeks tomorrow. Only the missed period and positive test (30 of em, no exaggeration :( ) so far. I'm having trouble believing I'm actually pregnant.

I haven't even rung any HCP's yet.

EllieJayJay · 21/11/2015 14:41

It's a mind field cheery I honestly do not know what I would have done without everyone here as until the MW appointment your pretty much on your own with Google :)

I'm not seeing my MW until week 9 and it's driving me crazy hence going for an early scan I'm paying for myself on Tuesday to check everything is ok

Welcome MissC ask for a booking form and ask them when you pick up the blood test form how do you get an appointment with a midwife - it varies place to place I had to go and pick up a form and they booked me the MW appointment and that was it... I did book an appointment with a doctor due to my age and medical condition but pretty much waiting for that MW appointment

Congratulations xxx

I'm actually really struggling not to send myself crazy and I'm not sure who to turn to.

I have high functioning autism so I am not sure if my first port of call is the midwife, my GP or my consultant for my ASD.

I'm utterly confused by the 'correct' process that I'm burying my head in the sand.

Last time is was easy. I got HG and it all sorted itself out while I was in hospital on a drip at 7 weeks.

Now I'm petrified about what might happen and don't know who to talk to.

Can anyone help me?

Cheery1 · 21/11/2015 15:11

BumpAndGrind - as EllieJayJay says, it's a blooming minefield.

It sounds like there's not an immediate reason to contact your EPU/midwife so if you have a good relationship with your GP, I'd say that should be your first contact. There isn't really a correct process but unless you have symptoms that you are concerned about, your GP is the best thing. Then you can express your concern to them, and then they can help you decide what then next best step is.

I think these early weeks are so stressful and it can be overwhelming. Hence this thread being so brilliant! Hope you feel a bit better soon.
xx

Cheery1 · 21/11/2015 15:12

P.S. I'm very glad too Ellie x

EllieJayJay · 21/11/2015 15:13

Hi Bump I have very different medical conditions to yours but I didn't know what to do either as with my conditions can come complications in pregnancy and my medication is all Category C for me as I know with diet changes (it's very hard to keep up but for baby I will) I can if I keep a very close eye monitor my condition. I decided to stop taking my medication for as long as I can.

I booked my MW appointment then called the surgery to ask if they could leave her a message to call me as I was confused as to the correct process - because I worried of complications (if I get unwell I will go downhill very rapidly and experience collapse and I need the hospital to understand what to do to get me on my feet literally!). The MW recomended a senior GP in the practise who had specislisim in women's health. That GP listened to all my concerns, put my mind at rest and took appropriate action. So she has written to the consultants who look after pregnant ladies (brain fog is very bad today) and they will see me sooner. She also has informed A&E added notes as to what care I would require should I get unwell (I'm very very blessed not to have suffered morning sickness it would be double trouble for me!) and contacted my consultant who looks after my condition to find out who in his team would be best to advise.

I hope this helps you make the decision on what to do next xx
