Good luck today Mel. Hope it all goes well.

I'm very similar And (congratulations). I'm due 28th July so we're almost at the same point. Also got pregnant first cycle of trying.

I don't feel pregnant, almost feels like I'm making it up a bit. I forget all about it sometimes. I keep talking about it with DH and we'll happily chat about it but it doesn't feel quite real. I'm getting the odd bit of heartburn and think my boobs are getting a bit sore but no major symptoms. Maybe that's when it will feel more real. I also keep thinking my period will arrive. Do you have any symptoms yet?

Jo6526 · 20/11/2015 08:08

My issue if I didn't take the test I would have never imagined I was pregnant. With reading all the things I have I'm trying to not imagine I have symptoms when j don't. For me it's been bloating but that's fine now, sore boobs gone now and this dizziness that feels like I have a bug but nothing that's stopping me doing things. Tiredness but again with the weather I normally feel like this at this time of year.

I'm not worrying - yet still very early 5+2

SunnyScot89 · 20/11/2015 08:10

Good luck Mel. Thinking about you today. Try to stay positive and relaxed, there is nothing you can do to change anything which is rubbish but that means you can just go with the flow. The ladies at EPU at RIE will look after you no matter what.
Welcome Myself hope you have an uneventful journey.

Jo6526 · 20/11/2015 08:15

Good luck Mel xxx

redstrawberries101 · 20/11/2015 08:20

Thank you Smile welcome to the new joiners!

AndIAskMyself · 20/11/2015 08:29

The only symptoms I've had is the odd twinge - like ovulation pain - throughout the last two weeks. But it's not enough to call 'cramps' and it's not painful so I don't know if Its the sort of twinges I'd always have. Yesterday I started to feel a bit heartburn-y. But again, not anything worth mentioning.

I have spent the last few months reading the conception threads and people talk about sore boobs and feeling sick and going off certain foods, but I haven't had any of that.

I'm sure when I start to get symptoms I'll wish I enjoyed the moments where I felt normal!

So, sorry for being thick, but what do you do now about doctors appointments? Do you go to your gp or straight to a midwife? I was going to call my doctors surgery this morning and explain and then ask if they thought I needed an appointment? Is that right?

beckslovestimmy · 20/11/2015 08:56

Thinking of you this morning Mel hope the scan can give you the reassurance you need xx

Gx91 · 20/11/2015 09:02

Welcome newbies and congratulations !
And I ask myself - you should call them and ask , I had booked a doctors app then called up to ask if I could go to midwife instead and they changed my app , today at 11 Smile X
Also don't feel pregnant although really tired this morning ..
Hoping they give me the sm due date as I think at the moment and can't wait for scan letter ! Xx

Ellizardo · 20/11/2015 09:24

AndIaskmyself - Welcome! If you're SE London, you can self-refer straight to midwife at Lewisham/QElizabeth/Kings...whereever is your closest hospital/the one you'd like to be at. It cuts out the need for a GP appointment which I think essentially tells you what you already know: you're pregnant and take folic acid!

And don't worry about no symptoms either. It's kind of annoying because it's such a momentous thing and your body is like meh, but everyone is different and symptoms WILL most definitely arrive soon in the form of a massive belly and pregsomnia etc. Enjoy the early stages!

SunnyScot89 · 20/11/2015 09:53

I've just been looking at early scans. In Edinburgh ABC4D do a reassurance scan for £99 but if you enter the code SALE2015 you get 50% off. They have other clinics in Glasgow, Motherwell and Ayr. Think I'm going to book myself in.

redstrawberries101 · 20/11/2015 10:03

That's useful to know sunny thanks!

redstrawberries101 · 20/11/2015 10:05

Jo6526 · 20/11/2015 10:20

Doctors went well, very quick and she couldn't find her calendar so she just went with my calculation of 20th July Smile

Blood
Pressure fine and I said I wished I had lost more weight but she said not to worry about that, I'm healthy enough in terms of falling pregnant so quickly so that made me feel bit better.

I feel like I have hangover though!

1st midwife appointment 22nd December
1st scan 8th January

Gx91 · 20/11/2015 10:22

Congratulations jo I though u had to wait for a letter to scan date ? Hope I get mine today just about to leave for my app Smile xx

photographerlady · 20/11/2015 10:28

Morning ladies. Still on the morning sickness has taken over my life phase but last night I had super noodles. So much salty goodness. Poor baby is just getting so much brown food at the moment.

AndIAskMyself welcome!

Jo6526 · 20/11/2015 10:28

I'm in Glasgow they give you a 'booking number' the operator asked my details and then put me on hold and came back with both dates, I was thinking I would be lettered but I suppose it works better doing it that way incase I couldn't make those dates.

I am holding off telling my work as close to end of March (waiting for extension of part of my post) the downside to that is that I would normally get time off for antenatal appointments that I'll need to take my own time for

EllieJayJay · 20/11/2015 10:30

Good luck Mel thinking of you xxx

Good Luck Mel

SoniaShoe · 20/11/2015 11:02

i hope all is going ok mel Brew

i had my gp appointment this morning which was pretty non-eventful. i think they just feel they need to do it to check you know what you're doing and want to have the baby before handing over to the midwife. the poor doc was completely clueless about pregnancy and maternity procedures but it didn't matter. it was just nice to get stage one ticked off. got the flu jab from him too (although he had to check with reception first that pregnant women could have the flu jab...!)

got my reassurance scan tomorrow morning at 8 weeks

wantingno2 · 20/11/2015 11:09

Good luck melvali I've been thinking about you all night I've been up since 3 myself x

Vickie360 · 20/11/2015 11:10

Just done another cb digital and its still saying 3+ although I should just stop wasting my money. And wait for my scan but it's nice to get a little bit of reassurance even if they aren't completely accurate x

wantingno2 · 20/11/2015 11:30

I'm the same Vickie I've stopped now it's just nice to see it makes you feel better
