Mascara - hope u can keep busy and 4 weeks passes quickly ! I'm hoping to get a d8 for scan soon but probs won't b til middle of Jan ! Aaaarrrrggggg x

Loki17 · 19/11/2015 21:12

I think my dating scan will be in the first or second week of January. I'll be 11 weeks on Christmas day. I think I need to watch what I'm eating a little more carefully. I'm just eating every time I feel sick and I only want carbs. I only gained 2st last time, I don't think I'm going to have the same small gain this time at this rate!

mascaraisamust · 19/11/2015 21:17

My 8 week scan is only £35. Keeping busy is the plan...off away for the next few weekends so that's two weekends sorted.

Carbs all the way here too Loki.

Stom91 · 19/11/2015 21:32

How much are private scans? I'd love a scan before Xmas but don't think I'll get one

redstrawberries101 · 19/11/2015 21:32

We looked at early scans and cheapest was £100 here in Edinburgh!

Gx91 · 19/11/2015 21:33

That's great guys think it shouldn't b hard keeping busy on the run up to Christmas but we will all b super bored after! Lol
Don't worry about putting on the weight if ur body wants carbs give it carbs ! Grin it will b wanting fast energy because it's so tired all the time ! Lol everything should settle down after first trimester ( we hope ) Smile xxx

Gx91 · 19/11/2015 21:34

That's what I thought melavi , I haven't got as far as looking though xx

EllieJayJay · 19/11/2015 22:12

Private scans near me are all around the £100 mark for the early ones - but still think it's worth it... £40 is amazing!!!

Melvali sorry to hear you're going through it too, your hcg test sounds very encouraging though like the others have said and from my reading loads of women can go on to have healthy babies after bleeding. Good luck for tomorrow, will check back to see how you get on. I'm trying to take the approach that I'm still pregnant and have hope until there are facts that prove I don't. My worst fear is that this could be an ectopic pregnancy going by manic googling of risk factors and symptoms, but in fairness I'm not in pain and would kind of expect to be if it's that? Trying to resist that kind of internal debate with myself but it's hard. Like you melvali trying to keep busy to distract myself which does help a bit.

Loki17 · 20/11/2015 06:01

Well if it helps anyone the place I'm going to is called 'tummy2mummy' in Hinckley. I went with dd because I was pregnant at a similar time and I didn't want anyone guessing over Christmas. It's run by ex midwives and they were so lovely.

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 20/11/2015 06:34

Loki I went to tummy to mummy for my 4d scan last time. The ladies are lovely but my scan was rubbish. I was really disappointed. This time I'm going to the new scanning place in Lutterworth. My friend is a baby photographer and works alongside them. She says there fab. So I think we will give them a go this time.

Gx91 · 20/11/2015 06:44

Good morning early risers !

Gx91 · 20/11/2015 06:54

Aww what a wee soul , they might not give him it if he's not feeling great or has a temperature Sad
Did you have to call them up and make the app for him ? I was waiting for a letter for DD ?
Il ask today got midwife app at 11 xx

redstrawberries101 · 20/11/2015 07:02

Morning girls

I didn't sleep much last night :( was up at 3 reading on here and almost posting like a loony but then forced myself to put phone away and up again now. My scan isn't until 10.30 but I thought I would get up and shower now instead of tossing and turning. I had a gp appt booked at 8.20 which I made when I found out I was expecting and I never managed to cancel it yesterday so I will go along anyway and fill them in.

I've had some dryness down there tmi sorry but I think it's because the blood replaced the cm. I suffered from this previously (after my op) and they thought I might have a very mild form of PCOS. At the time I was on the pill and when I came off it it lessened greatly. It sometimes creeps in though. They just prescribed replens a vaginal moisturiser which helps loads and the leaflet said to consult doctor before use in pregnancy but the other day I used it anyway. I think the dryness is also linked to thrush (which I suffer from fairly often because I was on antibiotics for 2 years continuously and then on and off since) and also frequent UTI's which I suffer from since my op too. Apparently something to do with irritation in that area.

Sorry for rambling on, I'm just nervous for the scan. I had prepared myself for the worst but after the bloods I'm thinking it might just be ok. I would rather think the worst and be pleasantly surprised than be hopeful and come crashing down.

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 20/11/2015 07:08

Good luck Mel I will be checking back regularly today. Hopefully it's all just been nothing and you will get to see a little heartbeat today. It must be so difficult. You are such a strong woman you've been through so much. When you get the all clear I think you deserve a super sized slice of cake. Thanks

Ellizardo · 20/11/2015 07:12

Morning Melvali - I'm up too with boisterous 7 month old, making him my special patented banana pancake which I end up scoffing most of the time.
I've been thinking of you a lot and hope today goes well. Will your OH be with you today? It's a good call to see your GP too, another shoulder and opinion cant hurt. Can you distract yourself with music/radio/email? I can recommend the famous 'whodunnit' podcast Serial...40 mins of total escapism!
And when this is all over, drinks are on us xx

Gx91 · 20/11/2015 07:17

Glad u have a doctors app today too they might b able to give u some useful information that will help ease the anxiety before the scan X
Recurring thrush and uti s must b a totally pain ! Sad
Fx for u today Mel (( hugs )) look forward to hearing some good news later ! Xx

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 20/11/2015 07:22

Good luck Mel - will be thinking of you at 1030.

redstrawberries101 · 20/11/2015 07:26

The support is overwhelming girls! Thank you so much.

Hubby is coming with me to the scan but I said I'd be ok at the docs.

On a funny note I really need to thread my lady tache it's getting pretty bad!! Just not had the concentration to do anything that I haven't absolutely needed to do since the bleeding started on Monday. After the scan though, either way I'll hopefully be able to get on with life again.

AndIAskMyself · 20/11/2015 07:48

Hello - can I join? I had a feint positive two days ago, but my DP and I wouldn't quite believe it until we got a more concrete positive, which we got today on a cb digital.

I didn't expect to be pregnant as this was our first cycle trying, and I don't feel at all pregnant. Not one bit. Which really worries me. I keep expecting my period to come and keep going to the toilet to check.

I feel so, so fortunate and lucky for it to have happened so quickly. But I didn't expect to feel this way. Does anyone else not feel pregnant? Or did anyone else feel the same and then the symptoms kicked in a week or so later?

So my stats - I'm 30 and due the 29 July according to when my last period was. Baby #1.

I noticed some people here are SE London. Me too! Hello!

Vickie360 · 20/11/2015 07:52

Good luck Mel will be thinking of you x

Jo6526 · 20/11/2015 08:03

Andiaskmyself exact same here! No real signs, the ones I do are really mild ones that I would have with period (little bloating on Thursday eve, sore boobs that aren't sore anymore)

It was our first time trying, and I mean 1 time (we were both working away and family staying in October) so we literally tried once when I knew I was ovulating - so it's all abit of a shock! Think husband is more frustrated as he was in for months of constant sex to try. Smile

I have doctors this morning but dreamt I imagined I was!!!

Jo6526 · 20/11/2015 08:04

Dreamt I imagined I was pregnant when I wasn't!
