My morning sickness has returned with a vengeance this morning. I can't stand ginger, absolutely hate the stuff. The thought of ginger biscuits makes me feel worse. Any one else have any recommendations of something I could try for first thing in the morning? I can't wear sea bands or anything that would be obvious. I can't wait until the scan so I can just tell people! I conducted a 5 hour exam yesterday and all of my colleagues were congratulating me and telling me to drink wine. I just smiled and agreed but feel so guilty for lying!

wantingno2 · 19/11/2015 06:43

Try rice crackers loki but have them buy ur bed they recommend you eat befor you get up and you won't feel as sick or plain digestives.

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 19/11/2015 07:37

Hi Bonxie how lovely to have an early scan. It must of been great seeing a little heartbeat.

Mel fx for good news for you this morning. I hope you got some sleep.

Loki like wanting said they recommend eating before you get up just something bland like a digestive or rich tea biscuit.

I have really bad constipation again. I've not been eating much due to nausea & I think that's making it worse. I've ordered a big Tesco shop today. I'm going to stick loosely to the Weight Watchers plan if I can just so I can ensure I'm having a healthy diet as I've always eaten rubbish in pregnancy before. I'm also going to workout again today as that's supposed to help get things moving. Blush

bergamot I saw that they were £20 in superdrug and thought no.. Came home and looked on Amazon and they were £11. I spend that on my normal vitamins and oils so I was happy with that. And if you were running that much before then running now will be totally fine. Only time I would stop is if you have bleeding.

loki sorry to hear you're feeling crappy. I woke up feeling ridiculously sick and had an 'at both ends' moment. First time too. Have you tried anything for breakfast? I want nothing. Makes a change for how greedy I've been...

mel wishing you all the luck In the world with your bloods.. Try and think positive happy sticky thoughts. Keep us posted won't you.

Chuckling to myself at your ice story ellie I think DH would have a field day. Mine are more achey than nipple-pains?

Can't remember who mentioned body combat but I think you are ok for now. It's quite high intensity so further down the line might give you a few problems but listen to your body. If you have any concerns speak to the instructor. I've found more vigorous exercise has made me feel sick at times so far. Spin is a good one for pregnancy!

redstrawberries101 · 19/11/2015 08:13

Thanks girl I'll let you know when I hear. They open at 9 but I expect it'll be about 10 by the time they call.

I slept okish but woke up achey, think I was subconsciously awake if you know what I mean and didn't sleep deeply.

Have a good day everyone xx

I've been eating genius seeded loaf that's nice. Weight watchers tomato soup, all bran, crackers/ryvita & Philadelphia. Scrambled eggs on toast, omelette etc. I've found eggs quite settling & beans strangely.

Sorry no idea why that posted so many times

EllieJayJay · 19/11/2015 09:51

I've also heard sipping ice cold Diet Coke is good for morning sickness... 50mg of caffeine in a can.

I've always liked ginger biscuits in milk but not a fan of ginger generally - the orange and ginger drink from tesco finest doesn't taste to ginger for me... But my taste towards ginger has changed so I've found myself drinking ginger beer on occasion, with ice, grape juice, mint and pretending it's a fancy Moijto.

I just can't give up Pepsi max so I still have one can in the morning and one in the evening - but rarely tea or coffee. So I'm within my caffeine allowance :)

I was like that last week photographer all I wanted was dirty cheeseburgers, chicken super noodles or cheese on crumpets...

I ventured into spaghetti bolognaise this week, and am also liking spinach with feta, strips of steak, cherry tomatoes balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Bread rolls with butter too :)

Mmmm Ellie sounds scrumptious!!!

Quick question is ur first midwife app ur booking app ? I can't remember ? Don't know whether to get DD looked after ? Xx

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 19/11/2015 10:06

Gx91 yes first midwife appt is booking appt. I've got the childminder watching Ds3 when I go to mine.

Gx91 · 19/11/2015 10:09

Thank u I better call my DM then lol hope she's not busy as if tomorrow at 11 ! X

EllieJayJay · 19/11/2015 10:09

I think they do call the first appointment the booking appointment :) I've already been given lots of firms to fill in, but can't bring myself to do those until after my early scan next Tuesday. Can't believe I'm 7 weeks tomorrow, it's come round so quickly :) but I still have two weeks before I see my mid-wife.

I am currently unable to get KFC filet burgers out of my head... DP was threatening to cook this evening but I really want KFC... Might get some for lunch and have it again for dinner ;)

Loki - I second Ellie's Diet Coke suggestion. It's great for an upset stomach/nausea.

Bergamot - re: omega, think preg vitamins are a bit of a racket to be honest. As long as you've got plenty of folic acid and no Vit A for the first trimester, you should be fine. That's not to say i don't buy them (!) but own brand Boots / Superdrug 'work' just as well. Diet would be equally important. There is a real industry built around exploiting our vulnerabilities whilst pregnant (let alone when the baby actually arrives)..I love Mumsnet for that reason to cut through the crap and figure out what really works.

Beautician - nice pampering suggestions! Paraffin eh? I shall investigate. I still have a load of preg bath stuff from DC1 (speaking of pregnancy industry) given to me by well-meaning friends...but I really rarely take baths so a massage sounds fab.

Good luck today Melvali xx

VulvaVoom · 19/11/2015 11:00

How's everyone today? I'm feeling like I have a bad hangover and am waiting in for a delivery with 3 yo DD, not fun.

I think the tiredness and nausea have really kicked in like last time. Boo.

Wrt cures for nausea, ready salted crisps are amazing but sadly not healthy (or great if you're constipated)

Thistledew · 19/11/2015 11:24

Hi All!

I'm checking in to this new thread for the first time.

I'm 4+6 today, and still have pretty much zero symptoms. I did a test again a couple of days ago and it was still reading positive, so no news has to be good news.

My boobs are maybe a little sore, and I might be a little more tired than normal, but that may be due to the fact that we moved house at the weekend and had to carry the entirety of our belongings up two flights of stairs. I went for a swim this morning and did feel quite tired at the end of the mile I swam, but again that might be because I haven't swam for nearly 4 weeks as I have had a series of colds and coughs.

Oh well, I'll report back when I have anything interesting to say.

Has anyone else had problems booking in to a midwife via NHS choices? I tried to do it the other day but we are without wifi at the moment so was trying to use the mobile site on my phone. I found pregnancy advice and info on the various maternity units near to me- but where to actually register? I gave up hunting for the link and will have to find a quiet time at work to do it on a desktop site.

photographerlady · 19/11/2015 11:25

Salt and vinegar crisps have been amazing for nausea but yeah not the best choice

EllieJayJay · 19/11/2015 11:26

I guess sucking on mints might not be an idea too :)

Just added mint humbugs to my shopping list and though umm maybe that would help someone with sickness...

Am still desperate for KFC, my mouth drools thinking about it :) which is happening a lot (gross) another symptom I have discovered is that I'm shaving more Hmm said to DP this is driving me nuts I may eventually resemble a cute little ewok... The gits response "more like chewbacca ewoks are small.." Followed by impression. Confused

Well at least he might get to learn what it's like living with a bear as he malts everywhere lol

And yes I did hit him with a cushion before laughing and telling him he is not funny

BergamotMouse · 19/11/2015 12:16

Thanks for advice on vitamins. I think I'll get through this month's supply and then decide what to do based on a bit of research.

I'm also not experiencing many symptoms thistle but am only 4+0. I have a bit of heartburn and i almost cried in an assembly this morning but other than that not anything I wouldn't normally associate with AF. I reckon they'll kick in in a week or so though but then at least I'll feel that it's real. At the moment it hasn't really hit me as feel no different.

Stom91 · 19/11/2015 12:20

Those who've had more than one can you pop at 8 weeks on your second? I've either popped it I'm really really bloated! Hmm

beckslovestimmy · 19/11/2015 12:34

Stom I'm hoping it's not all bloating. I don't feel bloated and have steadily lost weight since I found out I am pregnant (slimming world) but I noticed today that my belly under my belly button looked rounder. 8+4 here.
