Vicky I've been getting a lot of headaches. Have found a product called 4head that works quite well (just not for migraines) and is safe in pregnancy. You put it on your forehead and temples.

TiffanyAtBreakfast · 04/11/2015 11:08

Sorry to hear about those feeling rotten! I'm also headachey, grumpy and overtired, had a row with DH last night about something silly, I think I might book a few days off work to recharge my batteries!!

How do I go about being added to this FB group?

Southy84 · 04/11/2015 11:09

Hi notso yay for scan next week :)

Sorry you're feeling rough 99 and glad you have meds sorted x

Sounds like a lovely day hotchoc very jealous, although looking forward to a few hours with dh for our scan tomorrow afternoon, just hope everything's ok. Made the mistake of watching first look hollyoaks (from last night) this morning and cried, it was so terrible and made me worry. I won't say anymore but anyone who watches it just be aware.

toffee hope your day goes nice and quick for you.

I had a bad headache last night vicky (late night and self inflicted I think) and that was bad enough, I hope yours ease soon, not nice though :(

Yay for being pampered and looked after dervinia my dh works away a lot so I spend a fair amount of time alone boo.

This is my first baby following a mmc back in 2009 however definitely have a small bump going on already Shock won't be able to hide it much longer and a lot of people are now guessing.

Morning to everyone and hope everyone has a nice day x

Southy84 · 04/11/2015 11:11

Cross posts tiff hope you're ok, a few days off sounds like a fab plan!

Bishboshbash · 04/11/2015 11:32

Tiffany PM your name and I will add you to the fb group :-)

Sorry to hear lots of you are still feeling ill, I'm feeling a bit better today, fingers crossed it stays that way. I've got a work conference coming up soon too toffee and hate the thought of being away from home for a few days. I just feel more vulnerable being pregnant and want to be at home! Hope yours is over soon.

I've also been getting headaches quite regularly and yesterday was feeling really dizzy and lightheaded.

Will be thinking about you tomorrow Southy I'm sure the scan will be fine, let us know how you get on.

TiffanyAtBreakfast · 04/11/2015 11:52

Morning Southy, thanks, sending good vibes for your scan tomorrow, so exciting! What time is it?

I definitely already have a bump too, people have started to look at it when I'm walking out and about (probably trying to work out if preggers or just chubby! Blush)

I'm the same Bish, I thought my nausea had settled a little but then yesterday I had a new wave of it, very annoying! OK great, will PM you now.

Southy84 · 04/11/2015 12:01

bish yes my nausea was worst between weeks 11-12 it weirdly suddenly felt a lot better at 12+1 just feeling more hungry now.

Thanks frozen yours is tomorrow too isn't it? Just wracking my forgetful brain!

Thanks tiff it's at 3:30, ive been wishing this week away big time! I feel like I'm just bloated and definitely gained a few lbs Blush trying hard to not snack though as ive been warned by a few friends that it can be a slippery slope... Easier said than done! What date is your scan?

As long as everything is ok tomorrow I will debate joining the FB group- has anyone realised they know each other?

frozensmoothie · 04/11/2015 12:46

Hi southy I had my scan last Tuesday and finally got around to getting the photos online. Will be thinking of you tomorrow afternoon.

Any nub theory experts care to take a guess at the gender? I have no idea or even if you can see the nub!

Got my 16 week midwife appointment booked now so it's all seeming a bit more real.

Bish did you manage to find my fb profile ok?

Southy84 · 04/11/2015 13:10

Aww lovely photos frozen how long did your scan take? I don't think I can see a nub, but I'm going to say boy- not sure why though- just a guess :) Will you find out what you are having?

TiffanyAtBreakfast · 04/11/2015 13:11

Aww frozen, what lovely clear photos! Smile

frozensmoothie · 04/11/2015 13:30

The scan only lasted about 10 mins. She took measurements of the crown to rump, brain and head and the nuchal fold and checked that everything looked ok. There was a bit of waiting around afterwards while she wrote up the report and we booked in for the 20 week scan (on 15th Dec!) I then had to go to phlebotomy for the combined screening blood test. The whole thing didn't take too long though.

I will definitely find out what I'm having. I'm thinking boy too but for no real reason, just a hunch!

TiffanyAtBreakfast · 04/11/2015 13:48

Ahhh so exciting! I want to find out too :) when do you find out the gender - the 20 week scan? Wonder if your hunch will be right!

I have a hunch that mine is a girl Smile

As I'm overweight I've been reading that I might have to have a transvaginal ultrasound - Bit worried about it Confused. Has anyone here had one before?

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 04/11/2015 13:59

Great pics frozen!

For all those feeling sicker/worse around 11 weeks I definitely had that too. Now at almost 13+6 wks/14+1wks (depending on who I listen to!) I am feeling so much better, although my lower back has taken on a definite curve in the past few days - I knew that your spine has to do that, but so soon?
Anyone not on their 1st pregnancy do you remember when that happened? I'm told I'm quite big bump-wise for where I'm at so maybe that's why it's having to curve already!
Meanwhile have just been for a wax and the beautician was telling me how women's v-jjs change in month 7 or 8....fascinating conversation for a lunchtime!!

Southy84 · 04/11/2015 14:19

That's quite a short scan then frozen I thought it would be longer than that. I also have been told I have to walk over to a different hospital for my blood test which is a pain!

Yes you can hopefully find out at the 20 week scan tiff as long as baby cooperates Grin ive had 3 transvaginal scans and they are honestly ok, the 3rd I had a trainee who wasn't as good as the other two sonographers I saw, however they aren't painful at all and once you see baby on the screen you forget about the whole being probed thing!

Can't help with the back info cantbelieve but wondered why you have two different dates? Have you had a private scan too? I did and mine differed by a day- so wondering what I will be told tomorrow :)

VickyHW · 04/11/2015 14:24

Thanks guys - Grouchy I will look for some 4head tomorrow!

Bish I haven't had morning sickness really but in the past few weeks I've been a lot more nauseous than I was previously, if I don't eat first thing I feel really sick and I've had a few close calls with having to run to the loo and retch lots.

Lovely scan Frozen! So glad they're going well for people. Hope you feel better too!

Tiff I'm chubs (size 18 approx) and didn't have to have a transvaginal US at either of my early scans, you should be fine! I have had one however, when I was having my irregular period investigated years ago and they were ruling out PCOS, it was much less uncomfortable than a smear test.

Sorry if I've missed anything out I'm sneakily trying to read/type this at work!

VickyHW · 04/11/2015 14:25

Oh & I'm convinced I'm having a girl, having a boy hasn't even occurred to me haha, bet I'm wrong!!

TiffanyAtBreakfast · 04/11/2015 14:27

Thanks for the reassurance Southy, some of the articles I found online were less than pleasant! Must remember not to google things I'm worried about I just wish I knew for sure one way or another whether I would need one. Will they try the conventional way first or just go straight for the transvaginal when they see I am chunky? Smile

So glad this board is here for situations exactly like this!

TiffanyAtBreakfast · 04/11/2015 14:34

Thanks Vicky that's really helpful Smile

VickyHW · 04/11/2015 15:40

Oh another weird little thing! Has anyone else changed their sleeping position? I always always slept on my left hand side, forever, but the past two or three weeks my husband's had to wake me up in the night because I'm flat on my back snoring, something I've only done before when drunk! Anyone else?! (Probably just me haha)

Southy84 · 04/11/2015 16:05

I would have thought they'd try normally to start with tiff don't worry I think they will find baby with a normal scan not a problem :)

vicky yes!! I always slept on my left side but now find it verging on impossible! And I don't know why, ive resorted to putting a pillow behind my back to try to stop me, which has kind of worked but do still occasionally move onto my back. I wonder if it's because my brains saying I shouldn't do it that I now want to!

ToffeeAppleMarsBar · 04/11/2015 16:18

I've been a right fidget during the night. I sleep on the left, I sleep on my right, on my back, on my front (!!!)... my position seems to change every 20 minutes. It doesn't help that my cat is obsessed with lying on top of me whilst I'm asleep. Sometimes I'm fine with it but the last few nights it's really done my head in and I have to keep pushing him off. Poor cat.

And yes, don't worry Tiff - I'm sure they wouldn't try transvaginally unless they felt they absolutely had to. But if they do - think of it as 'training' for birth. That's what I keep telling myself now everytime I have to do something that's a bit painful or awkward or unpleasant - it's training.

notsoold · 04/11/2015 16:24

tiff around here it depends on the hospital.at mine they always try to abdominal first independent of mum size after 8 weeks. At another near by they only do transvaginal until 10 weeks......... hope it helps.

Bishboshbash · 04/11/2015 16:26

Sleep on your back while you still can!! That was the worse bit of pregnancy for me last time, having such sore hips from not being able to sleep on my back.
Toffee my giant cat sleeps in my feet space, drives me mad, last night I woke up with him cuddling my bare foot with his head resting on it, weirdo!

OP posts:
TiffanyAtBreakfast · 04/11/2015 16:29

Yeah that's a good way to look at it Toffee!

Another one here that's been finding I really want to lie flat on my back rather than my usual favoured side position, but I seem to manage to stay on my side through the night which is good.

I've been waking up 2-3 times in the night for a wee though, very annoying as it wakes the cat who then paws my face and generally bugs me for her breakfast for the next few hours til my alarm goes off! Hmm good thing she's cute.
