That's great news cant mine went well too, so relieved! Our sonographer was so lovely so better experience for us, baby kept waving it's arms around again and blocking her view so we were in there for about half an hour, problem is something has happened to the base of my spine since laying down on the bed thing they use and I'm now in agony, can barely sit down or walk. Dh had to help me up after the scan as I literally couldn't get up.

Congratulations again frozen how exciting to have chosen a ring, what a shame it doesn't fit but hopefully it will be ready soon :) 3 months is nothing! That will be here before you know it! Im hoping I will feel baby from outside soon too, sounds amazing!

Discofairypants · 29/12/2015 19:35

Hi all! Another one here with a scan at 8.30 this am! How spooky!

All looking good and we are team yellow.

Glad everyone is well ... 3 Mths of work left eeeek!!!

PearlyFish · 29/12/2015 20:36

Great scan news cant, southy and disco Smile

Congrats on official engagement frozen, hope your ring is ready soon! 💍 Seeing the movement is great. Not seen this bean wriggling yet but I remember taking a funny video of my stomach going mad when I was pregnant with my daughter.

21+4 here. Am shattered from Christmas but otherwise feeling well.

Am also on the 3 month countdown to mat leave. Had the thought today that I might not return afterwards but concentrate on private work instead... I do have the post Christmas blues though so will give it a bit longer before I decide for sure.

Southy84 · 29/12/2015 23:13

No way disco! This is odd!! So pleased yours went well too :) fab day all round! How exciting another team yellow.

Thank you pearly I was hoping to hold out til beginning of May before starting mat leave (edd 16th may) but you all seem to be going earlier than that, do I need to re-think? don't think I will be going back to work.

PearlyFish · 30/12/2015 06:54

Love 'team yellow' (that's not finding out, I guess?) Another team member here!

Southy you should be fine working to 38 weeks - or beyond if you are feeling well and job isn't strenuous. I'm due 6th May and want to go off on the early side as I'm anticipating being knackered due to coping with a 3 year old as well as being pregnant. It's not a problem at the moment (except on days when she wants picked up / carried a lot) but I expect it will be towards the end of 3rd tri, and I don't want to be working on top of that.

Even if you not planning to go back, the later you go off the more paid weeks you get with baby. Plus reasonable likelihood of being overdue with your first. I planned to go off at 38 weeks with my first. Brought it forward 2 weeks in the end but due to unrelated life circumstances rather than because I wasn't managing at work.

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 30/12/2015 07:54

Oh team yellow is a surprise? Me too then! Bizarrely somebody else on a different board I was on had an 8.30am San yesterday too!

Mat leave planning is interesting me too as I have zero idea what to do. I have quite a lot of stress responsibility though my job isn't physically demanding as such, but I do have the commute into central London, but was hoping to hang on as late as possible for financial reasons. I guess you can plan but you never really know what will happen!

ParsnipSoup · 30/12/2015 08:09

Glad to hear all of yesterday's scans went well.

I'm planning to work until almost 37 weeks and still do both nights and 13hr day shifts if I can but everyone is looking at me like I'm mad so I guess I'll just have to go with the flow. To do the same hours in shorter shifts I'd need to work 6 days a week which I really don't fancy!

ODog · 30/12/2015 08:18

Lovely scan news and glad we all seem to be growing healthy babies.

I will be going off at the end of March I think due to having to use up holiday. I have loads as I still have holiday owing from last Mat leave and then I went to 2 days so have almost a full time allowance to use somehow normally I end up buying more!

frozensmoothie · 30/12/2015 09:43

Glad everyone's scans have gone well!

I was originally planning to work until 38 weeks but I have so much holiday left to take I will probably go at 36 weeks and take holiday until just before my due date. I have a relatively stress free and not physically demanding job but I do walk to work and wondering if I'll still be able to manage that in the later stages. I just hope baby is not overdue as I don't want to end up sitting around at home bored! I plan to go back after mat leave.

Bishboshbash · 30/12/2015 11:01

I went off at 36 weeks last time and I wished I could have gone sooner, I really struggled towards the end even just standing for any length of time or walking upstairs was hard work with my sore hips. Ds was 2 weeks late but after two years of bad sleep I look back very fondly on those six weeks of napping!
Just see how you feel nearer the time I suppose!

Yay for all the good scans on here. We had one too today and we're team pink, which is lovely as we have a DS already. I also was convinced it was a girl before feeling her. But since then I've been calling her HIM a lot, as it reminds me of her brother.

Re: mat leave I went off at 36 weeks last time, less ready to finish work than to finish commuting. The train bothered me a lot and I was tired of it. I'll do the same this time. I have very happy memories of sitting on terraces having lattes with some of my equally pregnant new friends... DS was 5 days late, which was fine, although I was very ready to meet him (and labour started at 40+3 as well).

An early happy new year to all of you. I have the toddler to entertain before going off to friends for NYE tomorrow, so I won't check in again. It'll be a very special year for all of us. I like the thought of half the pregnancy in 2015 and half in 2016. Although I don't feel like it should be 20 weeks already...

Discofairypants · 30/12/2015 23:39

I finished at 37 weeks last time which meant I had a whole month of naps, baking and box sets before dd arrived! I'm aiming to do the same this time but will have an almost 4 year old time so will see!

Can only afford 39 weeks mat leave, waaaa!

Coming round so quick!

Congrats on all the other scans!

Mamama31 · 31/12/2015 09:51

Hi ladies I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and congrats on all the amazing healthy scans!! I had my 20 week scan yesterday- and finally got a due date :) so I'm 21 weeks 2 days today and due on 10th may!!!!!! So excited to meet this little boy, it's unreal how much love is there already! We could not be happier!
I'm planning to work up as close to my due date as possible I might go off a week before as I'd prefer the time off with baby on the other side as will only get 9 months off due to financial reasons so I want to make the most of it on the other side. That's the plan anyway but as we know baby could have another plan haha!!

Well I just want to wish you all a very happy new year! And how wonderful it is knowing that 2016 is going to be so special and exciting for us all. I don't even have post Christmas blues for the first time ever as I'm so happy and excited for the year ahead! I hope you all are too. Have a great New Years whatever you are all up to! And just think....this time next year we can enjoy it with a glass of fiz and our 6/7 month old babies in tow haha! X

ODog · 31/12/2015 13:49

Anyone else suddenly popped out a bit? Not sure if it's just bloat from Xmas....Hmm

ParsnipSoup · 31/12/2015 20:15

I definitely have exploded more than popped, have been ill over Christmas so I haven't been eating more so it must be baby.

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 31/12/2015 22:08

No no me too, I am suddenly feeling super pregnant!! Since the week before Christmas I have stated expanding at a rate of knots...22 weeks today!

frozensmoothie · 01/01/2016 16:35

I've definitely popped out over Christmas. I finally look pregnant now and my skin feel stretched to the limit. My bump has got a lot higher and I can feel a bit of pressure now when I walk. Also suffering from the pregnancy blocked up/stuffy nose which is annoying!

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 02/01/2016 21:13

Another popped one here. I look a lot further along than last time. Luckily now we've had all the scans and tests, I am happy to let the world know number 2 is on its way...

PruneCat · 02/01/2016 23:51

I am 19w3d (first time mom) and I am mega-pumped for my scan on Thursday. Also... anyone have any experience in booking flights for a baby that doesn't exist yet? I plan on taking the baby to the States at the end of the summer to meet my family, and every resource I've come across says to just book our regular adult tickets and then phone the airline once the baby is born and has a passport and add him/her to the booking. Has anyone actually done this successfully? Any tips? Good luck with all your scans!

ParsnipSoup · 03/01/2016 10:48

So something strange happened last night. I got in from dinner with my friends, changed into PJs and then realised I was leaking milk!! I realise this is essentially the main purpose of boobs but I was so surprised, in fact I still am really surprised!!

Pikz · 03/01/2016 14:18

Another one who seems to have grown massively over Xmas!

Parsnip that happened to me last time. Breast pads will be your saviour

On the flight piece, we did just that with DS and it was fine. Just make sure you can get a passport in time

ParsnipSoup · 04/01/2016 19:06

Had my 20 week scan today and everything was fine (thankfully). Took ages because the cheeky little baby didn't want to lie in the right position. I had to jump up and down and go to get a cold fizzy drink before he'd turn around.

I then went all the way to ikea (an hour away) to return something and completely forgot to put it in the car. Almost cried. Had to console myself with meatballs.

ODog · 04/01/2016 22:02

Oh parsnip how annoying, but congrats on good scan news. Also I have known friends to have leaked milk and have Braxton hicks from 20 weeks so quite within the realms of normal. I found boots breast pads to be the best.

I have a real wriggler today. DH and I have been watching her move all around you belly all evening. Feel liked I've popped overnight again and suddenly really showing.

PearlyFish · 04/01/2016 22:36

Congrats on your scan parsnip and hope you are sorted with some breast pads now.

Another wriggly bean here, and although I don't seem bigger I am packing on the weight! totally blaming the results of Christmas indulgence on baby

Off to pregnancy yoga tomorrow and v excited about it. 22 weeks 3 days today Smile

Good luck to everyone having scans tomorrow! Hope everyone is well x

notsoold · 04/01/2016 23:32

I had to leave the facebookgroup.....apologies to all but I got very stressed.
Congratulations to all with such good news!!! Our scan is only on the 6th.
Xx
