I need to start preg yoga again at the weekend. It all went a bit awry before Xmas, but I really need to do something.

I haven't joined the FB group notso so not sure what made you feel stressed but there are a few of us that still hang out here so welcome back! Good luck with the scan tomorrow.

Think we are going to start stripping the spare room for the baby's room at the weekend. Exciting stuff!

frozensmoothie · 05/01/2016 10:47

Great news on the scan Parsnip!

I'm 23+2 now and can definitely feel and see more wriggles happening, especially when I'm lying in bed. I've come down with a horrible cold so struggling a bit with sleeping and being back at work.

We wrote a list last night of all the decorating we need to do and things we need to buy before the baby's arrival. Feeling a bit overwhelmed now!!

GunShotResidue · 05/01/2016 11:57

We had an awkward baby at the scan yesterday too, DD was the same and DH is very worried this one is going to be as stubborn as her!

We have got a date and a potential address to move into in march, I've planned out a month of decluttering and throwing stuff away this month, then next month will be cleaning and getting ready to move, month after will be moving in and setting up the kids room! Excited!

Hope everyone had a good new year!

notsoold · 05/01/2016 12:21

Sorry.... I got stressed with life and fb was just too much for me ....
I am envious of you sorting decorating....baby will be sharing with dc3. After 6 months (during that time he will be with me)

Pikz · 05/01/2016 12:56

I'm not on the Facebook group either. I wanted to wait until I hit viability. Weird I know.

Frozen I am 23+2 as well! Just put all the spare room furniture on eBay at the weekend and about to start stripping it. Then need to order DS's new furniture so I can get the baby's room together. All starting to go very quick!

TiffanyAtBreakfast · 05/01/2016 16:05

Hi all, haven't checked in here in yonks! Don't know why really, I guess I tend to use FB as I keep it logged in on my work computer all day. Hope everyone is doing well.

Had our 20wk scan today, but baby was so curled up that the sonographer could hardly see anything. What they could see of the baby was healthy and no alarm bells thank goodness, but the gender was too hard to decipher.

We're booked in for another attempt at the hospital in two weeks time, but I (being the impatient saddo I am) seem to have accidentally booked a private gender discovery scan for £39 on Saturday! Woops-a-daisy Grin

Nicky333 · 05/01/2016 16:26

We had our 20 week scan this morning, all is fine, they think it's a girl.

I have a low-lying placenta which should move before 34 weeks but if it doesn't, I'll need a caesarean.

For £39, I'd book a private scan too!

ParsnipSoup · 05/01/2016 17:54

Glad everyone's scans have gone well. Tiffany that gender scan is such a bargain!!

I need to get as organised as everyone thinking about baby rooms. MIL is giving us DPs old crib, SIL has given us a cot... So we're very lucky. Need to really make a list of bits I need and start deciding what to buy. Total overwhelmed by the choice (and expense) of it all.

ODog · 05/01/2016 22:07

Another girl in the group. Lovely news nicky. tiff - please check in and let us know how the scan goes at the weekend.

parsnip - newborns need surprisingly little so if stick to the basics as much as poss. You can always nip out and buy non essentials of you find you want/need them once baby arrives. Also have a look and see if your local nct branch do nearly new sales. I always go and pick up loads of bargains at ours.

GunShotResidue · 06/01/2016 18:23

We now have a definite date and address! Baby won't be going into the kids room (sharing with DD) for at least 8 months after we move but I'll decorate it as a shared room so it's not too much change for DD.

Parsnip I agree that babies need supprisingly little. Somewhere to sleep, a way to feed them and some clothes and nappies are the essentials. We were going to buy a changing table for DD but ended up using a folding mat on our bed or the floor which worked just as well and took up almost no space.

ODog · 06/01/2016 21:05

Had such a stressful afternoon. Had to take DS for his 2nd menB jab and he ended up going crazy when he saw the needle. Nurse hacked his poor little leg a bit and then ended up dropping the needle in my lap and scratching me with it too. Nightmare. He's fine now apart from normal side effects although he keeps rubbing his sore leg. I was a bit worried about some of the vaccine getting to the baby but some googling and a text to midwife has put my mind at rest. I'm sure even if it was dangerous that so little would have got in that it wouldn't have done any damage anyway. And it cost me £120 (paid private as DS missed the cut off to get it on nhs).

notsoold · 07/01/2016 00:04

Had my scan today and I was happy before hand because after 5 days I finally could feel movement last night. But it was a much more relaxed scan than the others we had! All is well and it is a boy. Clearly a boy....GrinGrin
I might have to buy something now....Wink

GunShotResidue · 07/01/2016 10:33

That sounds very stressful ODog! Glad he's fine now and you're reassured. I think DD just missed it too, I need to look into it but moving seems to take up most of the room in my head!

Glad your scan went well notsoold!

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 08/01/2016 12:52

Just checking in! How is everyone doing?
I hit 23 weeks yesterday and am feeling pretty huge, and I get a painful stitch when I try and walk at my normal pace....very boring! After a few weeks of feeling pretty good and energetic I'm having a tired and stressed out week, not sleeping very well (or enough) with my mind constantly whirling with worries! Everything seems to be coming at once - my tenants have given notice to move out oft flat, work have suddenly decided to change my contract and tell me I have to do weekends (and apparently this is legal??!!) plus I'm stressing about finding an NCT course, choosing a name, finding a pram, and our kitchen is still not finished - started work at the end of October! Is it any wonder I'm feeling a bit stressed??

PearlyFish · 08/01/2016 20:34

Congrats to everyone with recent scan news!

Odog hope your little boy feels better now after his jabs.

Cant that does sound stressful and really frustrating work springing that on you. Don't worry about names and buying stuff, you've got a while yet. Also you don't really need to do an NCT class, and if you do one it doesn't have to be antenatal, the early days postnatal courses are really good in my experience.

23 weeks here and feeling like baby has run out of room already! Was having definite ligament stretching issues today and kept having to massage the sides of my bump.

I was planning my maternity leave a bit more today as I need to get it in writing soon. Because I'm part time I worked out I only have about 30 days left at work. All starting to feel v real!

I've forgotten at what point we get matb1 forms. Is it at 25wk appt?

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 08/01/2016 21:03

pearly I looked up the MatB1 form details yesterday and it says around the 25 week appointment.
I also foolishly? posted for employment advice on MN and it didn't make me feel much better about the work situation!

ODog · 08/01/2016 22:10

Just catching up.

Congrats on the good scan news notso.

cant - I agree not to stress about buying stuff and names etc. still lots of time. I still see my nct group weekly and they were a lifeline for me but there are lots of other ways to build a network of mums so no need to stress there either. I can't help with your work problem but sounds dreadful. What happened when you posted on MN?

pearly - he's fine now, thanks. A good nights sleep did the trick. I think I may have to go on leave from start of March as I have accrued leave from previous mat leave that has to be used by end of March. A lot earlier than planned but it will be nice to have that special time with DS. He won't remember, but I will. Technically mat leave won't start until start of April so about a month before D Day but I didn't want to take a big chunk of time off to go back for only a couple of weeks. Also because I only work 2 days a week it works out I have less than 20 working days - crazy. Planning on asking for my matb1 at my mw appt next week when I will be 24 weeks!

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 08/01/2016 22:23

odog glad all better now - that sounded awful, super stressful and can't believe you had to pay for it too!!
And the other advice I got - well, some was useful, most just said I had to suck it up, and a few seemed to suggest I was stupid that in the job I do I didn't realise I might have to work unsociable hours. Errr...maybe because they told me I didn't have to??

ParsnipSoup · 08/01/2016 22:58

I got my mat1b at a random 21 week appointment. Just need to fill out the forms for mat leave now. Person taking over my job is trying to make me leave earlier so she can start sooner and it's making me feel so guilty, but I really need the money from an extra couple of weeks!

ODog your vaccination experience sounds very stressful... Hope the next ones go smoother. At least it was all for a good reason.

Can't that sounds very unfair with work making you do shifts that they said you wouldn't have to. Ignore the unhelpful comments, I think they can often be from people who are either in a rubbish situation and want everyone to be as glum as them or people who have never experienced something similar.

ODog · 09/01/2016 07:50

Luckily I think he has one more menB in the summer and then just his pre-school ones in a couple of years. Just the new baby ones to go. Ahhh I hate baby jabs. At least this one will get menB free and it won't cost me over £350 (£120 per jab and he needed 3! - ouch!)

People can be very mean on here cant. Probably the type of people who wouldn't say boo to a goose in RL.

Nicky333 · 09/01/2016 12:30

I got my mat1b at my 20 week scan / consultant appointment. You have to let work know when you plan to finish by 25 weeks I think.

Parsnip you decide when you want to finish, not someone who's dying to jump into your shoes. Tell them to suck it up Smile

royaldub · 09/01/2016 12:37

Hi Ladies,
Its been so long since I checked in here ye probably dont remember me lol!

We had our scan yesterday and we are having a little girl so we will have one of each now, everything is looking great and baby is growing as she should be, was a lovely experience yesterday.

I am 23 weeks today and feeling more and more movement now so reassuring.

Started shopping yesterday and got few clothes from Next was a bit overwhelmed tbh its 6 years since I shopped for a newborn and Im so used to boy shopping!

Hope all is well with everyone

TiffanyAtBreakfast · 09/01/2016 15:13

Hi all :) had our private gender scan today and it's a boy! So exciting. Apparently everything looking healthy, baby is slightly bigger than normal so they're wondering if I might be further along than they thought. So happy baby let us see everything this time!

Hope everyone is feeling good on this rainy Saturday!

ODog · 09/01/2016 15:33

Congrats and gender news royal and tiff.

We have had a lovely Saturday so far. Had a bike ride to the marina with a hot chocolate stop this morning. DS loves going on the back of DH's bike on the baby seat and looking at all the boats. Then we have emptied the spare room and done a tip run this afternoon, ready to start decorating for the baby. Got a dinner out with some friends tonight while DH is on babysitting duty so a good Saturday all round really! Smile

GrouchyKiwi · 09/01/2016 17:31

Hi everyone. Hope you all had great Christmases and New Years.

We had our scan on Wednesday and all is looking good, though the baby wouldn't move up into space so the sonographer couldn't see all of the spine. I go back in 1 1/2 weeks for a repeat attempt.
