Morning everyone!

Hope your Christmas with the in-laws goes ok can't. At least you've got your scan when you get back to look forward to! Lovely that you got a first kick too. I wonder if there was something about last night. My baby seemed to be having a non-stop party in my belly too from about 12-1am! It was probably my fault as I was suffering from insomnia again and couldn't get comfortable so was shifting around a lot. I felt lots of kicks from the outside and much higher up than normal too!

Glad that your scan went well Pikz

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 21/12/2015 20:11

Great news pikz! And yep now once felt it once (really properly) that seems to have been the start of it, lots of very obvious movements all day today while we were travelling!
After a slightly stressful journey to the airport and the very early wake-up, not to mention being plunged into non-stop French-speaking which I barely understand (and haven't tried to since we were here in July) and full-on family I was absolutely shattered this afternoon! Luckily DP has gone into super sweet mood and told his niece and nephew I needed peace and quiet, everybody went out while i put my feet up and I fell asleep for an hour at 6, I think I could honestly have slept all night from that point! So if I get to have plenty of rest like that, maybe this week won't be so bad after all Wink

Elephantslovetofly · 23/12/2015 18:40

Hi everyone, not been on here for a while but I've been reading through. Lots of exciting news!

I had my 20 week scan a week ago, all was well although I too had to move around a fair bit and go off for something sweet to try and get the baby to wake up and move. We aren't find out the sex, so it's still a surprise. It's lovely to see the little hands and feet developing!

I have been feeling the baby move since 19 weeks, although only when I'm sitting or lying down. I've got terrible reflux which is getting me down a bit - keep waking in the night with a mouth full of acid!

I've put on 11 pounds, which I think is about average. I definitely have a bump now :-)

Have a fab Christmas everyone, and good luck to those with upcoming scans

GunShotResidue · 23/12/2015 20:24

I had the same problem Elephants, baby wouldn't wake up during the scan! I have a non sleeping toddler so I don't mind too much if this one is lazy!

TMI, I had some discharge today that was thicker and more solid than usual. Slightly worried it could have been part of the mucus plug. Might ring the doctor tomorrow but I'm not sure they'll be open.

Hope everyone has a good Christmas!

ParsnipSoup · 23/12/2015 22:10

GunShot probably better to ring the midwife rather than the GP and they definitely should be around tomorrow. I've heard that if you lose bits of the mucus plug they grow back so hopefully it's nothing too serious!

ODog · 24/12/2015 11:42

Merry Christmas to everyone from the French Alps! Hope you are all having a lovely time and I will try to check back in more when we are back after new year. Lovely to hear so much good scans news and movements.

Felt so good to have a ski as hardly done any exercise this pregnancy and DS is enjoying exploring and all the attention (although not so much getting dressed in all the layers!)

And yep mucous plug grows back so not a massive issue in itself although always best to get checked out as could be an infection.

PearlyFish · 24/12/2015 18:40

Just checking in quickly to say Happy Christmas! Hope everyone is well. Xmas Smile

Had my 20 week scan yesterday. Everything looks fine and we managed to stick to having a surprise!

That's so interesting about mucous plug growing back. Hope it's all fine Gunshot.

ParsnipSoup · 25/12/2015 07:59

Merry Christmas everyone. Hope you all have a lovely day!!

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 25/12/2015 09:39

Wishing everyone a peaceful and happy Christmas, thank you all for keeping me (at least partly) sane over these past 5 months - so here's to sanity, growing big healthy babies, and looking forward to champagne and soft cheese next year!!! Xx

frozensmoothie · 25/12/2015 10:19

Merry Christmas to everyone and all the bumps too! Hope you all have a great day! Xmas Smile xxx

Happy Christmas! Hope everyone is having a lovely time x

ODog · 28/12/2015 13:07

Just a quick place mark as this thread has dropped off my threads I'm on. Hope everyone is enjoying Christmas. Currently having an alcohol free beer on the balcony in the sunny French Alps while DS naps getting very excited as I've seen a September thread!!

ParsnipSoup · 28/12/2015 15:29

I think everyone must still be in a Christmas food coma!

ODog having a drink on a balcony in overlooking the Alps sounds amazing! Can't believe there's a September thread now... Strange to think we're all either rapidly approaching or already half way!!

Any more scans coming up soon? I have my 20-week scan next Monday.

PearlyFish · 28/12/2015 16:58

Yup, definite food coma here! Have had no fewer than 4 family Christmas get togethers including 3 full Christmas dinners and today is my second boxing day, phew!

French alps sounds amazing Odog!

I'm back to work tomorrow for a couple of days, then doing New Year with friends. Am so excited that I only have 3 months left before maternity leave!!

GunShotResidue · 28/12/2015 17:04

Is there much snow ODog?

Hope everyone has had a good Christmas!

My scan is a week today, I can't wait. Will be 20 weeks on new years eve, having half the pregnancy this year and half next!

ODog · 28/12/2015 18:28

Snows not great gunshot but it's skiable, but I love sunny skiing so I'm happy.

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 28/12/2015 21:44

Hello all! We have been visiting my family today after a week with the DP's fam in France (slightly torturous!), back to work tomorrow but first - the scan! It's at 8.30 tomorrow morning so hope I manage to sleep tonight!!

Southy84 · 29/12/2015 06:16

Hi everyone, hope you're all well. odog the Alps sounds lovely! Glad you're having a lovely time.

My scan is also today and also at 8:30 cant! How strange! I'm so nervous ive been awake since 5:30! Dh is snoring away still Hmm how's your France trip been cant?

Hi pearly and parsnip and gunshot hope you are are well too, how many weeks is everyone now? I'm 20+1 and was equally shocked to see a September thread! Where's time going?! So grateful to December for helping speed things up!

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 29/12/2015 07:17

How funny southy - scan buddies! I woke up at 6.15 to pee but otherwise slept right through, I was quite surprised!! But probably because I was so shattered! Trip to France was...well, I ranted a lot on the FB group, kinda tricky (combo of inlaws/language barrier/pregnancy hormones - wahhhh!!) - a week was far too long!
Good luck for this morning! X

ParsnipSoup · 29/12/2015 08:08

Good luck with your scans this morning Southy and Can't!!

I bet you're glad you're back Can't. I find it hard enough visiting my lovely in laws for 1 night at the moment let alone having a language barrier! On the plus side French Christmas food is usually yummy so hopefully you were well fed!

Exactly 19 weeks today!

Southy84 · 29/12/2015 08:10

I know of all the times it could be im surprised someone else has a early morning one too :) on our way now.

Sounds like a tricky week, but you did it, I would have struggled too! At least youre back now and can have some relaxation time, all the best for your scan too, let us know how you get on and if you find out what you're having :) x

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 29/12/2015 09:49

Hope all went well southy?
Ours was all fine, over rather quickly and sonographer not very charismatic this time around but the important thing is everything is looking normal Smile

frozensmoothie · 29/12/2015 10:39

Glad everything went well at your scan can't and hope yours goes well too southy.

I can't believe there's a September thread already! Also can't believe I will only be back at work for 3 months after new year and then maternity leave will start. I've already had people contacting me who are interested in applying for my maternity cover and its not even been advertised yet.

Weve had a good Christmas. Spent Christmas day and boxing day with DPs family and got officially engaged on Christmas day. Even though I picked the ring I told DP the wrong size so it had to be exchanged and the right size is now on order so I don't have a ring yet.

Now in London visiting my friends amd family until Thursday and I'm exhausted! Hoping to get some downtime at some point or I'll be back to work on Monday more knackered than when I left!

DP has now felt baby move and I've just been lying in bed watching her kick from the outside which is amazing! Can't beleive I'm now 22+2!

GunShotResidue · 29/12/2015 15:44

ODog that's good, DH went at the beginning of the month and had to stay near the top of the mountains as there wasn't much snow lower down.

I'm 19+5, I think time's gone really fast this time, it seemed to drag so much with DD! At the same time I'm so impatient for May to hurry up.

Good luck for all the scans this week!
