Yes to skin tags too! I had a lot of them anyway but even more now.

I've not had nightmares but have had more crazy dreams. Last night I had one where I was at the hospital and I needed to give a urine sample and every toilet I went to was engaged or blocked and I was desperate.

I've also been feeling more emotional but mainly more angry and snappy. Last night I went into melt down because the milk had leaked and there was a lake of milk in the bottom of the fridge that I had to clean out Blush

VickyHW · 23/11/2015 15:31

Haha ok good (sorry) I feel less gross now I know it's not just me :D

frozen I would have a meltdown about leaky milk pregnant or not, cleaning horrible old food/milk out of the fridge is one of my least favourite jobs!

Southy84 · 23/11/2015 15:58

Hi everyone, just sneaking back after a bit of a break- sorry to have dissapeared Ive just been having a strange couple of weeks. Had the blood results back and my risk for ds was a lot higher than I expected especially after a normal nuchal fold measurement and I feel like I had a bit of a meltdown. It's not horrific but just not what I expected and I think my hormones have got the better of me! DH has been lovely and we decided to have the harmony test as I just need to know what to expect.

Talking about skin tags, ive not got any but have a strange couple of white bumps that have appeared in the outer corner of my eyelid- now I'm not sure if that is what they are!

I'm feeling less pregnant too, but still waking up multiple times in the night to pee! It's so frustrating and I'm so tired. Had a scan last Friday as part of the harmony test and baby seemed fine, we saw them swallowing which was very strange!

Hope everyone is ok, I will try and get a chance to look back over the last few pages x

frozensmoothie · 23/11/2015 16:10

Thanks for the sympathy Vicky maybe my meltdown wasn't so unreasonable after all Wink

Welcome back Southy I was wondering how you were doing.

My ds rate was higher than I expected too, in the 100s rather than the 1000s as I had assumed, but still low risk.

I found a site with info on risks based on maternal age and found that the risk factor was bang on for my age. It made me feel a bit better as it must have just been my age and being the wrong side of 30, rather than the nuchal fold/bloods showing anything worrying.

Hope you get positive results from the Harmony test soon.

Southy84 · 23/11/2015 16:20

Thanks frozen, mine was 1:185 and apparently should have been in the 700's (I'm 31) and it freaked me out. I know it's still fairly low but would have however been flagged if it was 1:150. Even my Midwife reassured me I wasn't bein over the top about It but then that ended up scaring me more and I just cried for two days.

Feels like it's been one worry after another and I'm so rubbish at remaining calm!

frozensmoothie · 23/11/2015 16:24

Sounds like you've been having a really tough time Southy. It is so so hard to remain calm during pregnancy, even more so after everything you've been through.

When do you get the results of the Harmony test? I hope you find out soon, the waiting must be so hard.

Southy84 · 23/11/2015 16:36

I had it done Friday, they can take up to two weeks but I was told that they now process them in London (it used to only be in America) and apparently they have been getting results back in about a week. I will receive an email and hoping it is this week (please let it be this week!)

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 23/11/2015 17:19

Keeping everything crossed for you and quick results Southie - I think we are probably all guilty of not staying calm so I'm sure your reaction was completely normal!

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 23/11/2015 17:20

Oops I mean southie!

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 23/11/2015 17:27

baby brain<
I'm going to shut up now....

frozensmoothie · 23/11/2015 17:37

Keeping everything crossed for you Southy really hope you find out this week and it's good news,

ODog · 23/11/2015 18:01

Nhs not bed!

ODog · 23/11/2015 18:01

Sorry to hear you have had such a worrying time southy. I think the risk ratios make it seem worse. If you work that out as a percentage it's 0.005% which seems super low compared to miscarriage rates in the first tri etc etc. fingers crossed for a good result this week to put your mind at rest. What does the harmony test do above and beyond the bed testing, just out of interest?

Southy84 · 23/11/2015 19:07

Thank you all, wish I'd come here sooner as you've all made me feel better, hehe icant I'm having a day like that.

odog that's made it seem so much better thank you, my mathematical skills are rubbish so would never be able to work that out! The harmony basically tests your blood and picks up DNa from the baby- so you can also ask to be told the gender and I think it's 99% accurate, although we don't want to know. Then once they pick up the DNA they can quite accurately test for the trisomys- ds being about 99% accurate, and as its only a blood test its safe rather than risking a amnio. I think if the results came back positive the nhs still insist on a amnio though as that is a diagnostic test whereas the harmony isn't. We wouldn't go through with that or an abortion though, I just need to know as would want to prepare myself, baby's risk of the other trisomy were very low in comparison to my ds risk.

Southy84 · 23/11/2015 19:08

Midwife actually suggested the harmony to us x

VickyHW · 23/11/2015 19:35

Hope you get good results from your harmony test Southy. Looking at is as a percentage is definitely the best way! I'm waiting for the results of my quad screening as they couldn't measure the NT at my previous scan, I'm so worried it will be high (and I'm 31 and overweight so it will be even higher). It's stressful I wish the results were faster!

ODog · 23/11/2015 20:40

I actually think my maths might be a bit wrong there. Anyway the percentage would still be very low.

frozensmoothie · 23/11/2015 21:02

Your maths was almost right ODog. You just need to x100 so its a 0.5 or half a percent chance which is still v. v. low.

Southy84 · 23/11/2015 21:29

They really struggled to get mine too vicky I'm actually not convinced that what they measured was it! They didn't seem to convinced either (it was two of them debating it- I think I had a trainee) when did you have your bloods done? Hopefully you won't have to wait too long. You're right though the waiting is the worst.

Thank you odog and frozen hope you are all ok x

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 23/11/2015 21:44

southy I had the harmony test and although technically it's still a screening not a diagnostic test they told us that as long as they can find 7% minimum of the baby's DNA from your blood then it's basically 100% accurate. I think if it comes that it you'd then be able to opt out of an amnio if you don't want to have it, it is optional to have any screening at all let's not forget.

GunShotResidue · 23/11/2015 21:52

Hope you get good results back soon southy

Anyone else had bad heartburn/indigestion? I didn't get any until the 3rd trimester with DD but it's started at 14 weeks this time!

I've been feeling some movements, only when lying in bed or on the sofa for a nap but it's reassured me a lot. I have a bump and am out of my normal jeans, I'm quite enjoying looking pregnant!

Southy84 · 23/11/2015 21:53

How long did your results take to come through icant? I definitely would turn down an amnio to be honest, not sure if I could have IT as my placenta is at the front? Not actually asked or researched that but not sure how they do it? just hoping this harmony test will give us some better answers/reassurance.

Southy84 · 23/11/2015 22:04

Sorry cross post gunshot thank you, I'm ok unless I eat too much then I burp up sick Blush gross hey! I seem to have a massive stomach and it's my first and only 15weeks...

TiffanyAtBreakfast · 23/11/2015 22:35

Hi all. Afraid I'm guilty of hanging about on the FB page more often than here, whoops!

How's everyone been feeling? Sorry to hear you've been stressed Southy, hope you're alright.

Feeling very uncomfortable in normal leggings now, will have to bite the bullet and get some maternity ones in the next few days.

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 24/11/2015 07:27

southy it was 2 weeks between our 2 appointments (test and then results) but you mentioned your test was being analysed in London and ours was definitely sent to the U.S. so hopefully yours will come back quicker!
