Minx, to join the FB group, message Bish (she started the thread) with your Facebook name and possible a description of your profile picture. She'll add you as a friend on FB and add you to the group.

ODog · 17/11/2015 17:27

Lovely scan minx.

We are having homemade chicken escalopes that I stole off nigella. Well I say we. DS fell asleep on the drive home from my mums so if he stays asleep then he won't be having any. It's either he wakes up and we all have a very late night or he stays asleep and we all have a very early morning. Yawn!

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 17/11/2015 18:07

We're having m&s dinner, falafel, pitta, houmous, kofta and salad stuff - we still have no kitchen and I am completely exhausted having had the day off work to spend with my family who came to London for the day. It's the 2nd anniversary of my brother-in-law's death today and my sister took my nieces out of school for the day and they all came up to London and we do something nice. Having just spent the day toddler wrangling my nephew though am in awe of those looking after #1 while pregnant with #2!
Am so tired that I actually fell over quite badly on my way home, so now I'm bruised and sore as well as knackered!!

VickyHW · 17/11/2015 21:44

Lovely scan minx! Love how s/he looks pouty, and all the spine! (I know that is a weird sounding sentence).

I haven't had dinner yet, I seem to be starving in the day and stuff my face then my body catches up in the evening and isn't hungry. Could force down an fish finger sandwich though!

cant ouch, hope you're not too badly bruised or anything!!

fizzydrink1807 · 18/11/2015 10:25

Scan went well yesterday. Baby was lying in an awkward position so not the best pic. Due date confirmed as 26/05/2016

Ooh lovely scan minx!

Everyone's dinner choices are delish. cantbelieve that sounds like an ideal dinner of little picky things! We ended up having quorn tacos which were scrum.

Grouchy when is your 20 wk scan? Just wondering as we had the same 12 wk date. Smile mine is 5th January, only 7 weeks away! not that I'm obsessively counting or anything

Just ate all of my lunch at 10am. Woops. All I can think about is food at the moment!

TiffanyAtBreakfast · 18/11/2015 10:29

Oh fizzy! That's a lovely photo. Glad all is well Smile

PearlyFish · 18/11/2015 10:40

Eeee!! Just wrote a long post but my phone ate it! Not sure I'll have time to write it again, just wanted to say hello Smile

frozensmoothie · 18/11/2015 11:02

Aaawww lovely scan photos! Glad everything went well.

I'm counting down the days to my 20 week scan now.....3 weeks and 6 days to go!

We signed up for the NCT Essentials classes last night. They didn't have any for May dates so we'll be in the March/April due dates class. They're just around the corner from our house so hopefully we'll meet some new local friends Smile.

Nct was the best baby money we spent with DS - I still see those girls at least once a week and we have the occasional night out. We have even managed to l get babysitters for next week so all the men are coming too!

fizzy and minx - 26th may was my due date with DS! He was born 5th June so hope yours don't keep you waiting.

1 month today until 20wk scan!

TiffanyAtBreakfast · 18/11/2015 11:59

Ooh frozen I've been umming and ahhing about doing that. At least the Essentials course is a bit less eye-wateringly pricey than the Signature one. Is it just six weeks before the baby is due that they start?

GrouchyKiwi · 18/11/2015 12:06

I really wanted to do NCT or similar with DD1 but ended up being put on bed rest for 3 months so wasn't allowed to leave the sofa except to go to hospital again, for appointments, or to go to bed. Oh, and bathroom visits. And now that I'm on #3 there doesn't seem much point.

Lovely scan, fizzy.

Tiff I don't have my date for 20 week scan yet. Angry Will have to chase it up with the midwife when I see her in December.

Bish I'll pop you through a pm when I remember re Facebook!

frozensmoothie · 18/11/2015 12:09

That's good to know ODog. I hope we make some good friends on ours as we're the first of our local friends to have a baby.

Tiff my course is 22nd Feb - 21st March. It's meant to be for March/April due dates but I managed to sneak in there as they only had a Signature one for May / June dates and I couldn't justify the price of that one! We're paying £164 for the two of us including the NCT membership for the year.

The midwife said that the NHS classes are booking up so fast and advised me to book them now. Technically you're not meant to book them until 28 weeks but she said people were booking them now anyway and they were getting full already. I think there is a mini baby boom around here and it's becoming super competitive!

I'm not sure if it's worth doing the NHS parentcraft classes if I'm doing NCT? There was also an NHS breastfeeding class which I might book on to as I'm not sure how much that's covered in the Essentials course.

ODog · 18/11/2015 12:14

If you can afford it I was encourage everyone to do nct.

I did the nct and nhs classes. They cover most of the same stuff but our nhs ones were at the local children's centre so you got to know the people you will see at weighing clinics and very local classes/baby groups etc. whereas the nct ones tend to cover a wider geographic area.

TiffanyAtBreakfast · 18/11/2015 12:16

Oh strange Grouchy, I was given mine at the 12 week scan by the sonographer. It probably just works differently in different regions.

Ah interesting, thanks for the info! £164 is a pretty reasonable price I reckon for classes and membership. Hope you do make some lovely friends, my parents' very dearest friends now all met at NCT 30 odd years ago.

ChefsFloozie · 18/11/2015 12:23

Hi girls,

So I've been long time lurking. Hello to everyone and thoughts esp to those who've had tricky times.

We thought we would struggle a bit as my DH is a bit older and hasn't exactly totally treated his body like a temple plus a lot of our mates are struggling. Decided to Start Trying in October but apparently once in September was enough!!

Had a happy 12 week scan yesterday with a due date of the 26th May (popular eh fizzy and minx !) Would like to join the Facebook group so off to see if I can work out how to do that!

Bishboshbash · 18/11/2015 13:43

Hello sorry I've been rubbish at keeping up on here.
Glad everyone's scans have gone ok! Helloo to all the new people I will add you to the fb group today, it's certainly getting busier over there now which is fab!
Tiffany my 20 week scan is on the 5th of Jan as well. So far away!
Grouchy I got a letter about a week after my scan for my 20 week scan ,hopefully yours will show up soon.

Congrats and welcome Chefs Smile

Ooh Bish it does feel miles away doesn't it? Only 7 weeks to go...

GrouchyKiwi · 18/11/2015 15:59

Bish I hope it comes soon. We're away in NZ for two weeks come Saturday and I'd really like to know before then!

I really, really want a massive glass of red wine right now. Have been refereeing the children all day and have got to the point where I've dumped the toddler in her cot and told the 3 year old to play in another room till I've calmed down. I've got a sore throat and had a bad night with the toddler last night so am just not coping today. DH will likely be home late as well because he has to get things ready at work for our holiday. Boo.

Sorry for complaining. Sad

Hope everyone's having a better day than me!

PearlyFish · 18/11/2015 20:01

Ah Grouchy, have a virtual Wine

I could do with one too! My sweet little girl has turned into a raging threenager and it's not fun. Hats off to you for coping with 2 little ones whilst pregnant, it's hard enough with 1!

Hi and welcome to chefs Smile

29redshoes · 18/11/2015 21:36

Just popping back in after a few days away, have been following along but not much time to post!

Interesting to read about NCT, I was on the fence but I think I'm now convinced to give it a try.

grouchy I'm totally with you, I am missing wine a lot at the moment!

Welcome chefs!

My big news is I've got a definite bump and hardly any of my normal clothes fit now. I'm 15+2 and it's my first! What's going on?? Someone offered me a seat on the tube this morning when I wasn't even wearing my baby on board badge!! Very confusing because everything I read suggested I'd take a while to show - I'm 5'7", size 10-12 with a longish torso (or so I thought). Oh well, I am quite enjoying looking pregnant, just hope this doesn't mean I'll be completely massive by the end...

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 18/11/2015 21:45

29 I'm 15+6 today and I am really definitely showing! Saw my family at the weekend and again yesterday, and my sister said there was a big difference between my bump on Sunday and on Tuesday...I definitely seem to be growing by the day now!
And I have got really good at asking for a seat on the tube. I get on, go straight to the priority seat and ask "please can I sit down?" - no glaring, no getting p**sed off. It is SO much better this way!!

29redshoes · 18/11/2015 22:02

cant phew, I'm so glad it's not just me! I've just bought 3 maternity dresses online, time to embrace the bump I think!

I'm v impressed by your tube strategy. Honestly I don't know if I could do that, I get way too shy about it which is silly really. I've only asked for a seat once, towards the end of the first trimester when I felt really ill and just suddenly blurted out to nobody in particular "ummmm I'm pregnant and I feel really sick, could someone give me their seat please". It was surprisingly effective though, 3 people jumped up at once!

Does anyone have any recommendations for places to buy maternity clothes?

GrouchyKiwi · 18/11/2015 22:33

My bump is massive now, at 13 weeks, which is apparently unsurprising for third pregnancies.

I get most of my maternity clothes from JoJoMamanBebe, which is a little pricey, but the quality is lovely. Highly recommend their leggings. Also have some things from Verbaudet, Gap, New Look and Red Herring (at Debenhams). John Lewis can have some nice things over a big price range.
