Good god this thread moves fast!

Been thinking of you missi, glad all is currently quiet Flowers

RE: weight gain, I started out at 10st 4, weighed myself the other day and am 12st 1 Confused. I think it is mostly boobs and bump though - I've measured my arms and thighs and there doesn't seem to be much difference there from pre-pregnancy measurements...maybe a quarter of an inch, if that. My boobs on the other hand are five inches bigger than they used to be at last count! I've also gone up 2 back sizes.

I'm trying not to worry about it to be perfectly honest, I'm eating healthily and there's not much else I can do!

Rosieblossom123 · 19/11/2015 11:35

Beautiful I hope you manager to see her today!

Missi I'm glad baby's staying in put Flowers

I just rang my midwife because of my heart palpitation and they said they might have to check on my fibroid. Has anyone else been getting really bad heart palpitations?

ThePug · 19/11/2015 11:39

Ooh Tri I'll look out for you on Saturday Wink You're lucky you're coming before the Christmas Market starts next week, which is hell on earth in terms of the number of people crammed into one space.

Beaut hope you can get through to the local midwife and she can come to see you. Someone on another thread I'm on has just been diagnosed with the cholestatis thing, of which the itching is a major symptom, so best you get checked over. It's definitely not chicken pox related is it?

Am I the only one still wearing my normal bras?! My boobs have rounded out and got firmer but not yet bursting out of any bras!

DH said the most amazing thing the other day while I was getting changed; he said I looked like that Demi Moore magazine cover Grin closest he's ever come to an un-prompted compliment!

Parpaltunnel · 19/11/2015 11:52

cough

Hi everyone. Can I come and talk to you? Not sure what etiquette demands with this stuff but I just realised these antenatal clubs exist and I'm due March 20.

BeautifulLiar · 19/11/2015 12:07

Parpal hello :) we talk a LOT!

I've been told to go to the clinic at 2, with chickenpox ridden children. I seriously cannot believe she's asked me to go! Wish me luck...

vroc81 · 19/11/2015 12:13

Hello Parp!! Welcome, have you had your 20 week scan do you know what you are having?

*Beaut" Hope you manage to get to see someone today and get it sorted!

The Pug I can still wear my normal bras I have two that are more comfortable (I think from the shop they were from must mean they are a tiny but bigger) but I am still in my normal jeans as well!

Got on the scales this morning before I went off to my 24 week appointment and am back at the weight I was at the beginning so have put the 3lbs back on that I lost feeling nauseous around 8-10 weeks but the midwife said that was fine... As I am lardy anyway I must be loosing a bit to the weight of blood, boobs and baby I guess? Still don't have much of a bump though (hence still being in my jeans) although she said it was coming along nicely and its just because I am tall there is plenty of room, I am sure when I can't see my toes I will regret being sad about the lack of bump..

vroc81 · 19/11/2015 12:17

Beaut cross posted, you can only do as you are told, good luck with it!

TriJo · 19/11/2015 12:20

Welcome Parpal - my due date twin :)

BeautifulLiar · 19/11/2015 12:27

Yeh true! Thanks guys. I'm sure all will be fine - I generally have very itchy feet anyway (although never this bad). No idea why and wouldn't wish it on anyone!

marmiteandcheeseplease · 19/11/2015 13:26

hello parpal! as beautiful said, we are a chatty bunch Grin. feel free to chat along with us or just drop in and out!

wow beautiful I'm really surprised you've been asked to go in with chickenpox - though I guess they will just keep you all seperate! I think that's what they do in GPs surgeries anyway... god I'm not looking forward to the day that DD gets it. Hope it all goes ok and the itchy feet thing isn't cholestatis.

I got my leave confirmation yesterday Grin last working day is 12th Feb, due on the 8th (although by my dates more like the 13th) so have a month off before baby arrives (course now she'll be early haha). It sounds like a lot but I am using up holiday so doesn't eat too much into my maternity leave (which is 9 months). With DD I worked till 38 weeks, and tbh I can't be arsed with that again.

Bit pissed off with my work though. My boss agreed that I wouldn't do any teaching next term since a) I will be heavily pregnant and b) I'm only around for three weeks of term. Anyway she was supposed to give my module to a colleague to teach because apparently his teaching load is low. But then it turned out that there were only two students on it, so we were going to scrap it, but one student is really complaining about it (sigh), so my colleague asked me if I could 'teach some of the material in a couple of lectures' in one of his modules! cheeky AF! so basically rather than me having less teaching and him having more, he's somehow used this as a way for me to take over some of his teaching Angry. Needless to say I was like um no I don't think so.. he asked me to 'think about it'. Not fucking likely! (sorry for rant and university/work politics, I know work related chat is boring haha but needed to have a moan)

Paperblank · 19/11/2015 18:39

Hiya parpal

Nice to "meet" you Smile

I just want to come on here and blow my trumpet...I got a big boost at work today. I've been asked to act up into a management role from now until I go on mat leave. There isn't an actual role (and won't be) and it's only for 12 weeks but even so I was thrilled to be given the opportunity.

Plus the extra spondoolies will come in handy!

Beautiful What did the midwife say?

BeautifulLiar · 19/11/2015 19:38

Marmite - nope, wasn't segretated at all. In fact we had to sit right in the middle of the waiting room and the receptionists affectionately referred to the DC as "the ones with the chickenpox" Confused

Wow, congrats Paper! Non alcoholic Wine for you. The midwife turned out to be a school mum which could have been awkward (I will die if she turns up to my home birth) but it went ok. She listened to the baby's heartbeat and entertained two poorly kids when she inadvertently sprayed my blood out Smile I should have the results tomorrow!

neh205 · 19/11/2015 20:56

Welcome parpal

beautiful I've had itchy toes, ankles and legs for last week. It's driving me mad! I called midwife on Monday and she was meant to call me back but no response and the same on Tuesday. I called again Wednesday and was then told the midwife only works Mon & Tues. Which is ridiculous! Apparently no one else to check in with the days she's not there so round have to book Dr appointment instead.

Getting a bit worried about it now might go to Dr tomorrow rather than wait until Monday.

I'm back in for second go at 20wk scan tomorrow. Hope baby in better position this time!

One of my friends gave birth today. So exciting!

paper congrats! Amazing news!

missi hope you and flump are doing ok.

IndomitabIe · 19/11/2015 22:08

Ooh, marmite, that's a brutal early wakeup. Hope you managed the day ok.

Missi, that does sound like a good perk. Glad you're able to focus on the positives! And glad the mobile network/hotspot idea works too!

Shame about the Paris trip, TriJo, but you're probably right. Bath is lovely. Have you been to the Thermae spa? It's worth a wallow!

Oh no, Beaut, I hope they got to you today! Ah, excellent! Unless there were small children in there I expect most people would have had chicken pox.

Rosie I've only had the usual occasional bit that's normal for me but my friend with IVF twins and OHSS has had some significant heart wibbling (technical). She's had it monitored and took some time off to rest. Haven't heard of any recurrence. Do mention it, especially if you're getting any dizziness too.

Ahh, ThePug, that's a lovely comment! My boobs have shot out this time, I'm sure they didn't last time. I think they "remember" the deal this time!

Hi Parpal!

vroc - still in your normal jeans?! Hat off to you!

Wow, marmite, that's ridiculous of your colleague! Stick to your guns!

Great news, Paper! Well done!

That sounds irritating, neh, and the midwife availability thing. Mine is part time too, but I'm fairly sure they'd just arrange for me to see someone else. (She's also retiring before March Hmm).

It turned out I still felt pretty awful when I got to work today, but gradually got better throughout and am back to proper-normal now. Grin

I got told twice today that I have a very neat bump. Perhaps they don't realise I'm only 22 weeks!

(And stashed away all my emergency tins with the camping kit. We're ready for a couple of snow days now!)

marmiteandcheeseplease · 19/11/2015 22:27

Glad you're feeling a bit better indom. Neat bump is a nice comment to gge Smile all I seem to be getting at the moment are 'you're huge' comments.

DD got sent home from nursery this afternoon, for second day running, with temp of 39 Confused. Expect that explains the early wake up. I felt bad as they must have wondered why we took her in today after she had a temp yesterday too, but she was happy as Larry this morning and we took her temp at breakfast and it was 36.2, so didn't see a problem with sending her in. They said she had been pulling on her ear though, and her cheeks were red, so I think we might be teething the dreaded second molars Sad just hope it doesn't last too long, DD is a terrible teether and its been a long drawn out affair every time! Be good to be the teething all done by the time DD2 arrives!

BeautifulLiar · 20/11/2015 01:52

Indomitable - ooh are we twins?! I also got told twice yesterday that I have a neat bump, was very happy! Also I remember how fab my home birth with DD1 was, with the most amazing and hilarious midwife. I quickly got pregnant with DD2 and then she had the audacity to retire two months before she was due. Sigh.

Neh - yay, someone who can relate! Although not yay that you're going through it too. I'm up now, scratching of course. I do have eczema which flares up in pregnancy but not on my feet. Fingers crossed you can get in touch with someone tomorrow. I'm sure we'll be fine though - 24 weeks is very early to develop OC and I've never had it before.

Marmite - oh bless her. Hope she sleeps a bit tonight! My three have been freaks of nature and never seemed bothered by teeth, I bet my luck will run out with this one!

Had a panic that "time is running out" yesterday and ordered a baby monitor, baby bath and some Playmobil for Christmas that secretly I want I've hardly got anything left to get now. I'm a bit of a control freak though so it has to be this way!

TheMshipIsBack · 20/11/2015 03:42

Grr. Pregnancy insomnia strikes again.

BeautifulLiar · 20/11/2015 08:11

Do you just get up then, TheMship? I always just stay in bed fighting it but it's frigging shit.

I was awake 12 - 4:45 last night!

TheMshipIsBack · 20/11/2015 08:26

Beautiful I'll give it half an hour in bed then get up for a while. Sometimes I'll fall asleep again on the couch downstairs but more often I'll read for an hour or two, have some chamomile tea, then go try again in bed. That's pretty much what happened this morning - I did get another hour of sleep before the alarm went. I find if I stay in bed I get anxious and worked up about not sleeping.

BeautifulLiar · 20/11/2015 08:51

Yes I do too. You're sort of looking at the clock thinking "Ok now I've been awake for 90 minutes...!" I'm terrible though cos I just grab my phone and start dicking about on the internet Mumsnet even though that wakes me up more. Really should read my book...

Today is the 5th day pretty much stuck in the house with chickenpox, and all three DC are here today. I can't see us getting out at the weekend and DH isn't even home. Aagghhh! I plan to sit on my arse and do very little...

Rosieblossom123 · 20/11/2015 09:32

Beautiful you're so organised, I've still got a lot of stuff to buy :( By the way cosatto are releasing a new range in 3 days, I'm excited I hope they're nice patterns! Oh and I looked on gumtree to buy a second hand mamaroo and can't find any :( where did you buy yours from?

BeautifulLiar · 20/11/2015 09:40

I wasn't this organised with the others, but four children will be like a military operation so I'm preparing now!

Ooh didn't know about the new range, can't wait to see it!

I got mine from gumtree. Had to drive 40 mins away but had a nice carvery on the way back :) I'm surprised you haven't found one where you are!!

Rosieblossom123 · 20/11/2015 09:45

Beautiful because I've signed up to getting emails they keep sending me sneak peaks haha teasing me basically!
I looked yesterday and there was nothing on there, I will have another look today maybe from my work address? to open up my options!

Rosieblossom123 · 20/11/2015 09:53

They're the only pictures they've sent me, I want to see some girlie patters!! Grin
