Put in my official leave request today Grin 1 week annual leave from 15thh to 19th Feb, mat leave from 22nd Feb, baby due 10th march and returning to work ok the 9th January 2017 - definitely all seems a bit more real now.
Will catch up on everyone's posts after tea - haven't stopped eating today at all!!!

ThePug · 18/11/2015 17:24

My weight fluctuates by a good 2kg during the day depending when I step on the scales! I managed to put on almost 4kg in the ttc/first mc stage through trying to better control my blood sugar levels, but since BFP I have put on about 2.5kg if you take morning readings anything up to 5kg after dinner though

Ugh, Q I've still done nothing yet and not only do we share a due date, but I'll be induced 2 weeks before!! Putting 'call accountant' on my list of things to do tomorrow so I don't get to the end of another day without having got round to it.

MyNameIsSuz · 18/11/2015 18:02

Oh god, am I the only one who hasn't weighed myself? I'm sure I've put on a lot, my arms feel meaty and my bum looks big. And I look way more pregnant than two people at work due the week after me! I was hoping I wouldn't put too much on as I didn't last time, but looks like I'm having a harder time of it this time and it's showing! I burnt a lot breastfeeding ds so shouldn't be too worried, but he was a marathon feeder and I'm hoping for a better one this time! Feeling very unfit generally, my belly dancing class was so hard going last night - I made a decision and have signed up for pregnancy fitness classes instead, I haven't been before as they were on the same night but think it might be time to make the switch.

Hello all!
Finally caught up, hope you fluey ladies are feeling better.
suz I havent either, know i'll only fixate on it and that's never healthy.
What's the youngest aby of you would leave a baby overnight if noone minds me asking? Dp booked tickets to derren brown without thinking, baby will be approx 13/14 weeks by then. If, and I know it's a big if, baby will take a bottle would you leave overnight? Would be at our house with mil staying here, it's either that or drive the 55 mile journey home afterwards.

MyNameIsSuz · 18/11/2015 18:43

Hmm, I wouldn't have been able to at that age q but we were breastfeeding and it was still hourly at that point. Even if he'd been mix fed it would have really messed with my supply and been pretty painful. But if you're planning to formula feed I don't see why not!

IndomitabIe · 18/11/2015 18:59

We first left DS to go out for the evening around 9 months. Can't remember when we first left him overnight (though I do remember waking up at 3am anyway with mega-boobs!).

I think I have to go back to work tomorrow, but I've got myself in a right panic about a course/presentation I've got to do next week. I keep telling myself that whatever happens, it'll be all over by this time next week, but it's not helping the adrenaline drops I keep getting. Can I just hide under my duvet for another week?

Missikat · 18/11/2015 19:02

Oh god my weight gain is out of control! I was 11 stone at bfp, weighed myself the other day and I was already 12st 6lb!! BlushIf I am in hospital for long (which obviously I hope I am) this is only going to get worse as I'm so inactive. (Also I have no willpower with food and one of the few pleasures in here is eating!)

I did gain 4 stone on the dot when pregnant with DS (and lost almost 3 stone by the time he was a year) I never shifted the extra stone tho but then again my pre preg weight was post wedding following slimming world so I was lighter than id been in more than 5 years......ah well. Now I kind of feel it doesn't matter how fat I get if I can manage to keep Flump inside and fattening up for as long as poss!!

I agree tho that if you do want to breastfeed it's good to have some extra reserves as it really takes it put of you.

ffauxlivia · 18/11/2015 19:23

I'm sure I read that we're supposed to gain something like 9lbs extra fat just for breastfeeding! Then on top of that there's a couple of pounds on the breasts, another couple for amniotic fluid, same for placenta, same for bigger uterus, and about 4lbs for the extra blood - I remember that particularly surprising me. And that's before you add the actual extra human being inside you :) So don't worry ladies, I'm sure doctors would be telling you if you are putting on too much.

Glad to hear Flump is still happy inside Missi, hope you got some entertainment sorted. Ginger hope it went well at the doctors

IndomitabIe · 18/11/2015 19:29

Only a couple of pounds of placenta? I'm sure mine was as big as DS was, though probably less dense. But I'd expect it to be 4 or 5 lb at least (DS was 8).

ffauxlivia · 18/11/2015 19:50

Probably indom! Not quoting anything, I just remember being surprised how heavy everything was! At my scan my placenta looked almost as big as the baby Smile

docmcstuffins1 · 18/11/2015 21:00

Hi ladies, not been around for a while (been having a lovely time in sunny Barcelona on my babymoon!), has taken me HOURS to catch up, you're such a chatty bunch!

missikat so sorry to hear you had such a stressful time, glad flump is staying put for now! Hope you're managing to keep yourself distracted, I'm keeping everything crossed for you over the coming days and (hopefully) weeks.

I'm too scared to weigh myself as I feel massive. Bump has really popped over the last 2 weeks, and people feel like it's ok to comment how massive I am on a daily basis! It really upsets me, and I spent a lot of Monday in tears as I felt very self conscious. I'm feeling more positive today (slept a bit better which helps) so hoping to get back to enjoying being pregnant again.

hayleycookie · 18/11/2015 21:12

Found this little gem re weight gain. Obviously varies by person and pregnancy but it's an interesting average to look at :)

Paperblank · 18/11/2015 21:43

I think I've put a stone on each boob. One of the women I work with said "Oh my god! How big are your boobs!!"

There's no denying it. They are enormous and only going to get bigger. I'm not sure it will be safe to breastfeed, the poor baby won't be able to breathe.

Strawclutching · 19/11/2015 06:08

Last time I looked i had put on 21lbs but I'd imagine more like 2stonde by now. I eat 600kcsls in cereal bars before I even have breakfast so not surprising! Still way less than with dd1 and I lost all that and more so not too worried.

Healthyeating meant I was still being sick 4 times a day so I figure this is what the baby wants!!!

It's lovely to be able to catch up on the thread. Dd1 (2) is still asleep at 607 (one of her longest lie ins ever!) normally I've been up for well over an hour by now. This is heaven.

BeautifulLiar · 19/11/2015 06:47

Oh my god, I'm knackered

Another night of being awake for 2 hours with excruciatingly itchy feet...

Time to ring the midwife??

IndomitabIe · 19/11/2015 07:29

Straw congratulations on your lie-in!

Beaut yes, I think it's time. Sorry you've had a bad night.

My throat is back to bearable so I'm back to work in a minute. Thanks for the well wishes and letting me moan about it!

Have you seen that "preppers" topic on here? They've got into my brain. I was dismissive of it before, but now I find myself with an extra £15 of tinned stuff on the tescos order! (In my defence, I've used vouchers for it). Pregnancy madness? If the winter is bad (unlikely) we could, theoretically, get cut off here for a few days. And seeing the aftermath of the Paris stuff, I know it was only a day or two, people being told to stay indoors, I thought well what if we are at the end of the week and we've run out of food? So, I'll now have some tins in the garage! I'll have to remember to stock-rotate now won't I, or I'll rediscover it all in 5 years time all manky. I suppose that's the best outcome really! (I'm not going to post on their threads though...).

MyNameIsSuz · 19/11/2015 07:42

I'm knackered too Beautiful, I don't know how I'm going to manage a whole day! I've had a terrible headache the last couple of days - more of a face ache all down one side, I think it's my teeth Sad it hurt to sleep on it last night and the night before. Anyone have any ideas (other than braving the dentist)? Feeling decidedly woe is me today.

OP posts:
Strawclutching · 19/11/2015 07:59

Beautiful defo call the midwife. It's probably just pregnancy itching but worth checking out. I had it from 8 months last time. It was horrific so I have s lot of sympathy for you x

Me624 · 19/11/2015 08:02

Another one who is sleeping badly Sad the itchy feet thing sounds really annoying though Beautiful, definitely speak to the midwife about that.

That table is really interesting hayley! I can't believe all the extra blood weighs 4lb, that's loads. Paper my boobs are enormous too and have been since 8 or 9 weeks - I really hope they don't get much bigger! I haven't been measured as I'm wearing soft sports bras at the moment but I think I must have gone from a fairly generous DD before to at least an F!

TheMshipIsBack · 19/11/2015 08:34

Beautiful you should call the midwife, they may want to do a couple of tests of your liver function to rule out cholestasis.

marmiteandcheeseplease · 19/11/2015 08:42

straw congrats on your lie in... my DD (also 2) usually wakes up about 5.30/5.45 ish. rarely after 6. She woke at 4.40 this morning screaming for a cuddle Sad was my turn to get up as well! got into bed with her though and she managed to drop off, but I was lead down awkwardly and so couldn't really properly sleep, ended up dozing till 6. Didn't feel so bad this morning but now (when I've just started work), the tiredness has suddenly hit me like a sledgehammer...

beautiful deffo ring the midwife about your itching. It might be nothing but best to get it checked out.

Missikat · 19/11/2015 09:10

Well one positive of being in hospital (aside from having someone else change my bed and cook for me!) is that I am actually getting really good sleep amazingly! Not waking up to go for a wee and not being woken by a toddler in the morning (although obviously I'd rather be at home with my little boy rather than here Sad). But have to think of the positives, the last two days I've slept until 8am!!!!

Missikat · 19/11/2015 09:12

Oh and thanks Indom on the suggestion of unlimited data and making my phone a hot spot (or whatever you call it). I had no idea about that but have looked into it and that looks like a goer!

TriJo · 19/11/2015 09:16

So little man kicked hard enough when me and DH were cuddling last night for him to feel it... Blush

We were supposed to be going to Paris this weekend for a mini-babymoon/rugby match. Found out on Tuesday the match was cancelled, decided yesterday to cancel the whole trip. Just feels a bit wrong travelling there at the moment. We're now going to Bath on Saturday to watch my team playing away instead - not quite the same but it will still be a nice little weekend away for us. We're not out much money on the Paris trip either - Eurostar said we can rebook for any time in the next 180 days and we were using a free night from hotels.com for the hotel and we got that back too, so only around 30 euro each for the match tickets that we're out. Probably going to go visit friends in Brussels using the Eurostar tickets.

BeautifulLiar · 19/11/2015 10:17

Rang the antenatal unit and they told me to go in but of course I can't because the other DC have horrendous chickenpox. Fucks sake. They said a local midwife might be able to do a home visit, but I've just missed her calls and now she's busy!! Aagghhhh!!
