Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 40th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 39th grads fred is HERE.

The thread we have graduated from is HERE in its 55th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread HERE for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

HERE is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates.

Yey! Glad you got some better sleep Jelly, it may not work every night, I'm finding that I have to change things up a bit and try and trick my body into sleeping.

Gx for a good physio Pretzel!

JC, I know what you mean about the epi-no. I managed to get an unused one from a grad for £65 as £100 is a lot. However, the research behind them is good.

Been for a look around the birthing suite. Made me a bit worried for the first time really. It wasn't my normal lovely midwife so I just felt a bit rushed I think. I asked about internal exams and she said that they keep them to a minimum but that they 'like' to do one on arrival before you are given pain relief/get in the pool and that they 'like' to do them every 4 hours if progress isn't obvious. I know I can refuse them if I want to but it doesn't seem to be the done thing! I pretty much feel like I just want to be left the frick alone in labour! Have calmed down a bit now but had a bit of a wobble. She wasn't overly enamoured by the idea of DH being in the pool either but said we could so long as it was okay with the midwife on duty.

pretzelpieces · 27/10/2015 12:55

pud I feel the same about internal exams. I don't want them to stress me and cause my labour to stall.

Good luck for scan Thursday!

Good luck with your scan Thursday!

And gl with physio pretzel!

Glad you had good sleep jelly. Am I the only one who doesn't wake up for wees? Hmm

Don't stress about it pud. You might welcome an internal, or you might not need it. You just don't know what will happen. Just go with the flow Thanks You'll be ok.

jellypi3 · 27/10/2015 13:28

You must have a bladder of steel carrot! I've been up in the night peeing this entire pregnancy. I think it was my earliest "symptom".

Pud that sucks :( I'm sure on the day the experience will be better but it doesn't help to put your nerves at ease eh.

jellypi3 · 27/10/2015 13:29

On the epi-no, i'm in the same boat as you jc, not sure if i want to fork out £100 for one but also feel that if it stops my fanjo ripping it's got to be worth it.

honeysucklejasmine · 27/10/2015 13:38

Successful trip to IKEA done, meatballs eaten. Now off to John Lewis to get Moses basket etc with vouchers. (Thank you, wedding guests!)

Jcandy · 27/10/2015 14:19

Dp has said yes to epi-no if I want one and I guess from a peace of mind "yes I can push something that big out of my fanjo" type thing it would be good. But the research just isn't very clear. It has some effect in reducing tears and episiotomys but it definitely doesn't prevent them. Argh I hate decisions!!

I had meatballs when we went to ikea the other day honey Smile they are one of the best things about ikea

I too want to be left alone pud but at the same time I know they can be sometimes necessary. I'm planning on trying to use my daisy breathing to get through them and making sure I get off my back as soon as they've finished

ThursdayLastWeek · 27/10/2015 14:40

I prefer to know what's going on in labour as best as possible - and quite often the onky way for a MW to tell is by an internal examination.

Sweeps to me count as unecessary, but I think during labour itself is a different story. A LOT can change in four hours. Or not a lot can change in four hours, and women react so differently on the outside IYSWIM. I personally wouldn't prevent a MW from using the best method she had of judging what's going on.

But each to their own of course, and I'm hardly one to talk as not a single person is going anywhere near my fanjo this time Grin

Scan in an hour

oneyorkshirepud · 27/10/2015 15:03

That's a good way to think about it JC, I will remember that. I think in a way it will make me wait until I really have to go to hospital as I don't want to be sent home at 2cm!

pretzelpieces · 27/10/2015 15:25

Thanks everyone. Back from physio with a sore kneaded pelvis and a hot water bottle on it to calm it down. She thinks the sacroiliac joint is the problem one, and has given me some exercises to do. Go back in three weeks for review and more kneading. Halloween Hmm

jc I have similar thoughts on the epi no. So expensive. Halloween Confused

Are you having an elcs thurs

I'm meant to have daisy birthing tonight. throws toys out of pram ugh, don't want to.

I also have to get up and pee several times in the night.

PS on the subject of cervical dilation and progress in labour, I read this today and thought it was helpful.

MollyBloomYes · 27/10/2015 15:46

Hello everyone! Congrats andnwelcome Kate!

Been off the thread for ages I feel, just trying to catch up. Must be sponsored by ikea this week as I'm heading here tonight to get some sort of nappy storage cupboard shelving type thing. Going after dinner though so no meatballs for me Sad

Managed to get consultant appointment next week to discuss elcs, feels good to get ball rolling, pretty sure that's my decision now!

Hope everyone's ok!

oneyorkshirepud · 27/10/2015 16:14

Molly you are pregnant, you can absolutely have meat balls after dinner!

Pud bump is measuring a week behind (not a big deal), so DH's conclusion was that I need to eat more chocolate and pork pies. WINNER!! Smile

oneyorkshirepud · 27/10/2015 16:15

Pretzel is it your last daisy session?

pretzelpieces · 27/10/2015 16:36

pud mmm yum sounds like a plan. No, I've still got THREE to go including tonight Haloween Sad. I don't know why I don't like it, I just find it kind of boring and stressful at the same time argh (but I think the techniques could be helpful).

OP posts:
jellypi3 · 27/10/2015 16:38

more chocolate is always a good thing pud!!

i'm a bit nervous about internals, never had someone look up my foof! not even DP! Shock

i've been feeling a lot of pressure down below today, assume baby is sitting on my cervix? it's made me walk a bit like John Wayne all day!

good luck in the scan thurs :)

honeysucklejasmine · 27/10/2015 16:50

Meh, I've had various consultants shove a few fingers up me in the past, I'm not really bothered.

So, went to John Lewis. Decided in the end to get the crib. Narrow enough to fit in our room but big enough that I won't have to move them in to a crib in next room at 4 weeks old. Wink

It's being delivered on Friday morning. Bought the basic mattress but got two (still cheaper than one premium one!) in case of mega vomit attacks, or a baby who likes padding!

I am mostly excited to turn the ikea flannels in to reusable wipes. It'll work out at 20 wipes for £3 so can't complain! But I bough two packs, so will have LOADS!

fruitlovingmonkey · 27/10/2015 17:22

Now I really want to go to Ikea. Might drag DH there next week for tea in the cafe to pick up some throws before our new sofa arrives.
How exciting about the crib Honey, which one did you go for? I only recently found out that baby has to sleep in our room at first so much to learn! and there isn't much space so I'll be looking for a narrow one too.
How the bloody hell have you never had anyone look up your foof Jelly?? What about smear tests?

ThursdayLastWeek · 27/10/2015 17:38

Hello everyone, we're looking into a trip to ikea too, though our nearest is like 3.5 hours away, so if we can do a big order and get it delivered we'll do that. Just depends on if we can find a new mattress for us somewhere local first.

20 week scan absolutely perfect Smile
Baby still sex unknown and erring on the larger centiles...not unlike its big brother.

pretzelpieces · 27/10/2015 17:42

Yay Thursday, glad to hear about the good scan news.

OP posts:
jellypi3 · 27/10/2015 17:45

I live 5 minutes (literally) from an ikea. Might have to pop there!

Yay for scan thursday! Great news :)

fruit my first ever smear was booked for a week after I got my bfp so I had to cancel it lol. You don't really have any foof examinations before 25 i guess unless you are high risk?

honeysucklejasmine · 27/10/2015 17:46

This one Fruit. It has a bolt so you can stop it swinging if you want.

Good news Thursday!

Jelly I'd guess as an England resident, hasn't had a smear before... Only just old enough now!

fruitlovingmonkey · 27/10/2015 18:04

Congrats Thursday glad the baby didn't flash it's bits at you!
That one is lovely honey.
I didn't realise you were so young jelly Blush. Also, I've lived abroad for a long time so had forgotten about the nhs and their 25 rule. I remember my first doctor outside of the UK thought it was a scandal that I was 21 and hadn't had a smear yet. Make sure you get one asap. My friend had pre- cancerous cells that appeared very rapidly, luckily she had been offered an early smear as part of a women's health campaign, hate to think what would've happened if she'd waited three years.

jellypi3 · 27/10/2015 18:16

Yeah I plan on getting it done as soon as baby is here and I'm given the all clear to. I think 25 is too late to wait (and thanks for calling me young, I don't feel it lol Grin)

honeysucklejasmine · 27/10/2015 20:32

I need to have another, but I haven't had a begging letter recently. I'm 29 so must be over due.
