Morning!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Juicythe2ndnotsowiseman · 06/12/2006 19:02

You've made me feel so much better SM - how many weeks are you now?

BTW - bought a KK when we were in Selfridges on Saturday. (then helped DH eat his!)

jessinwa · 06/12/2006 19:04

i have resorted to keeping a little notepad next to the computer so that i can keep up with what is going on. half of the time i can't remember who said what and i feel selfish only posting about myself. i love reading your stories, especially today ).
lg&t, your ex is an idiot. i am sure you already know that though.
12days, your six baby dream sounds like a nightmare to me. i love children but six at once would be out of control. and your "milk in the fridge" phrasing problem sounds very familiar to me. my dh talks like that all the time. i have to really think about what he is trying to say. it is almost like english is his second language, though it totally isn't. he is an engineer. that should explain a lot.
rk, your potty dream is equal parts horrid and hilarious. at least the dream fairy has blessed you with the happy ending dreams as well. i guess only four percent of prego women have orgasm dreams. i do. one of the best pregnancy symptoms i have had.
creena, i love mitzi and eoin. so nice.
meggle, only a stone overweight, huh? HA! my goal weight is a stone overweight. i guarantee that i am the heftiest mama due in may. i have you all beat, for sure!
i had my twenty week scan yesterday and little one looks great. we didn't find out the sex. i definitely saw the little penis or labia but i tried to look away before i could figure out what it was. a couple of times it totally looked like a boy's stuff and a couple of times it looked like a girl's. we will find out soon enough. oh, they said i am a few days further along than they originally thought but they aren't changing my due date. i am glad. i have gotten used to april 26th.
anyone want a screaming fourteen month old? he has been refusing to take naps lately. it is great fun. [fsarcastic]
hope you are all feeling well.

SnowyMeadow · 06/12/2006 19:07

MereNoel · 06/12/2006 21:27

Hello>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>. Oh my god, you lot have lost it, I can't believe we still have another, (hold on can't type whilst counting on fingers) 6mths of this to go. I think we will all need help by May.

lol at the bed wetting, keys in fridge and lunch thefts.

PJ - Mason was the boys name we liked when pg with dd, changed our minds in the end because as you know we are in France and the French couldn't say Mason it would be Maison, which as I'm sure you also know means house in French.

lvbt, I'm really looking forward to a meet if we can pull it off. I know the park, that would be a good idea, Grannie lives on the front above the shops on the corner of peir street, so easy for us to get there. I'll e-mail you my mob number, but it will be from my neice's e-mail so look out for one you don't recognise.

More shopping tommorow, going to selfiges so you know what that means. My neice says that apparently if the sign is turning then you get free ones?

largevirginbirthandtonic · 06/12/2006 21:52

Free KK's....... soooo jealous.

So funny Mere, i drive by those shops everyday! Now i will wave to Granny... Cant wait Mere...hooray...

JonahB · 06/12/2006 22:09

Ooh, Twelve, you sound like a big, important lady with a city job. Do you do all that arm waving that was so prevalent in every eighties yuppie film, or is that something film-makers made up to make people like Rob Lowe & Judd Nelson seem more fanciable??

Jess, congrats on the scan!! Oh, and about your DS not sleeping ? do you have Medised in the US ? If not, I?ll send you some in return for your frozen dessert waffles (as opposed to cr*p potato ones)

Lupins, I?m a little ?un too. I?m only 5?.

I?m so envious of all of you so far ahead of me. I?m only 16 weeks on Friday and some of you are 4 weeks ahead of me. DS1 had been due on the 5th June but was 11 days late. I spent the entire 11 days spontaneously bursting into tears as I learnt of yet another person either on MN or from my ante-natal group who had their babies before me, who were due after me. Be warned you 1st timers, the little b*ggers NEVER come on time....

jessinwa · 06/12/2006 22:16

what is medised? i am now dreaming that it is a magical, safe, sleep inducing wonder-tonic for feisty children. if it is, please send some my way!
i am so envious of the meet up. would some of you please take a little trip to seattle so that i can meet you? please...

largevirginbirthandtonic · 06/12/2006 22:28

On my way Jess, cases packed with medised. Always wanted to visit Seattle since i saw Sleepless in Seattle, i even have a Jonah named after the little boy in the film!

jessinwa · 07/12/2006 03:01

should i really ask one of you to send some medised? i had never heard of it before now. is it a miracle? as far as i know we don't have anything like it here. mkg, have you ever heard of it?

SnowyMeadow · 07/12/2006 07:23

WHAT FREEEEEEEEEEEE KK's thats just not fair

I'm still cross with myself that i FORGOT to get some when i was in Kingston!

Jess, Medised is good if it works. It worked for about a week with ds and then nada! Although i do have lots of friends who swear by it.

largevirginbirthandtonic · 07/12/2006 07:57

Morning all...so stormy last night i thought it was coming through the windows, the poor rabbits outside.

Im cleaning today...has to be done we have people descending tonight. All in a good cause though, it's the inlaws, they are having all the kids so i can go to the ball. Will be cinderella tomorrow...

No talking to me today or i will be obliged to sit down and talk back....while eating a cake and having a coffee....where's my f*ing fairy godmother when i need her most...

lildrummerKel · 07/12/2006 08:10

morning all!!! apologies in advance for ultra-sunny behaviour today but my LO gave me the greatest gift of all...slept in till 8am this morning. WHOOO HOOOO Must have been the crash following his first sugar high (bits of chocolate from his St. Nicolaus day pressies).

all y'all who get your hands on KKs. Someone with access please eat a cream-filled glazed for me. Or 2. Or 3. I do live in Twickenham so could get to Kingston in theory but the thought of trying to park there during xmastime fills me with dread!!

12DOC - sympathies to you - I used to be on a trading desk and Lord if there was ever a bunch of people who just don't get pg, it's those lads.

Jessie - Medised does mean "miracle" in some languages, I'm sure of it. Sorta like Benadryl for kids. Knocks 'em out. Bliss.

GodRestYeMerryPebblemum · 07/12/2006 10:11

Hello ladies

I have got a nice peaceful day today, hurrah. Dh is at work for a few hours this morning then buggering about playing golf, stuffing his fae etc with his colleague until he has to start work later so he wont be here all day and ds1 is back at school (fingers crossed he lasts all day without getting sent home for whatever reason). I still have ds2 with me but hes no problem, he just sits and plays on his own. I have had to ban him from the kitchen though, he is going through a helpful stage and keeps trying to wash up, shame he floods everywhere in the process

Juicythe2ndnotsowiseman · 07/12/2006 10:16

I didn't know they celebrated St Nicholas in the UK, I thought it was only on the continent??

How are we all feeling today. The weather is really quite pants at the moment.

Off to the North East tonight, so will be off-line until Monday. Visiting DH's relies. Just got to get through it...drudge, drudge, drudge. Although his Nana is really sweet and we get to see my friends too, so musn't grumble.

Hope you all have a fab weekend. LVB&T - have a wonderful time at the ball. I think at least one glass of champers is in order, don't you??

Pinkjennyjoytotheworld · 07/12/2006 10:30

Morning

I'm so enjoying my week off work, now basking in the glory of our finished (almost) house. We are still loving the carpet (a bit too much I think) and are ridiculously houseproud and paranoid about it. Until the baby comes along and trashes it! Can't wait.

Have just been freaking dh out by turning over loads of page corners in the mamas and papas catalogue and saying, 'need that, need that, need that'. He was desperately trying to ignore me.

Am going to chill out all day and read some mags I think.

My wind is terrible. (just thought I'd share)

largevirginbirthandtonic · 07/12/2006 11:07

Hope your day remains calm pebble, eat lots and vegetate. You too Pink just dont eat on your new carpet! That's the babies job... and thanks for the wind update.....

Have fun at the relies, im sure it will be lovely...someone else to cook and no cleaning sounds like heaven to me

largevirginbirthandtonic · 07/12/2006 11:09

One glass of champers... perhaps 2 or 3...ive earned it this week and it will only send the baby to sleep, it's probably had a very stressful week too because of me...

lildrummerKel · 07/12/2006 11:19

Ooh how fun to have a new house - and new carpet too . We hope to move in early 2008. Were going to this year since bubs2 is on the way but alas it's just too blummin expensive. Will have to make do with my 9mo DS in his room and the new one in ours, and hope that works. I have real nightmares though about two screaming babies at once and me just melting down in the hall somewhere...[fhmmm]

St. Nicks - we celebrate it here in the UK cuz DH is German and I like getting choccies

We have a hugely social weekend planned. I am sooo looking forward to it as I feel I've just been a Baby Production Factory for the past two years and the thought of wearing heels makes me giddy . DH's work do tomorrow night, which is interesting as it's his last one (shhhhh) and it's the firm where we met 4 years ago so I know everyone too. Then dinner on Saturday night! Bring on the champers for sure...!!!!!

RobinRedBreastsKennedy · 07/12/2006 12:00

Morning All!
You will all be pleased to know that I had a dry night last night, no more toilet dreams. Which was a relief. BUT - I did have a coughing fit and let a small amount of wee out while I was on the bus home last night, which is worrying me. This is my first and its only 4 months - what will it be like at 6 & 8? Will I really have to wear the nappy dp has threatened me with? AND Ive been doing the excercises. Balls.
Glad you are all ok this morning. Its just blown a right old storm here, really sudden massive thunder & lightning, and now 15 mins later bright blue clear sky. Apparently there was just a little twister a mile or 2 away in Queens Park, its taken the conservatory roof off a friends house while she was having a pedicure (and shes 9 months preggers).
Saw a friend this morning who has had ear acupuncture needles left in her ears to curb her eating and drinking and she says they really work. I might get them for my wine craving. Its getting silly. Some days I let myself have wine with my dinner, but I generally want more and more, so I need to do something about that. If only pregnancy had made it taste horrible.
ALCHY ALERT!!!!

Juicythe2ndnotsowiseman · 07/12/2006 12:15

Aha Alles Klar! I used to love Nicolaus when I lived in Germany. All the kids got more excited about that than they did about Christmas.

All this talk of champers is making me want to have some. Only got alco-free beer to look forward to! Dull.

Juicythe2ndnotsowiseman · 07/12/2006 12:37

RRBK - I have a fear of trying wine again in case it tastes good again. Beer tastes good again, so I fear the same for wine, so I'm just not going there and remembering how crap it tasted at the start.

Otherwise may be following you in the acupuncture route some time soon

GodRestYeMerryPebblemum · 07/12/2006 12:41

Have had a really nice morning so far but really feel i should be doing something constructive instead of sitting around.

All this talk of champagne has me craving a nice cool glass of wine I dont like champagne, too many bubbles and too expensive. When i took dh away for his birthday he decided to order a bottle of champagne from room service, it cost £25 for a small bottle (not even a half size one) and it tasted foul so neither of us drank it

CreenaberrySauce · 07/12/2006 13:16

Hullo everyone!

Had my 16 wk appointment with the midwife this morning and all is well. Like Pebble's bobba, mine was hiding below my knicker line, tucked away in the corner. We heard the heartbeat, which is always lovely and reassuring to hear. It sounded just like a train! I reminded myself to listen out for whether it sounded like a horse galloping or a train but now I've totally forgotten the old wives' tale behind it! Does a heartbeat that sounds like a train mean it's a boy or a girl?

RobinRedBreastsKennedy · 07/12/2006 13:26

Good god. there really was a tornado! it hit literally 3 roads away from my house! phoned dp when I heard about it and he poo-pooed me and said whilst he had heard some fire engines, I was obviously exaggerating the damage.
Its completely ripped houses apart and screwed a whole street! Cars destroyed and houses falling down. No doubt you will all see it on the news. Hes just seen it on the news and has had to eat his words.
what a mad world
