MOrning everyone. I still have to read through to cathch up.

I'm starting to look pregnant. Only my dh and I can tell now, but I am. Oh well, it happen sometime right now.

lupins71 · 07/12/2006 14:11

Just seeing it on the news rrb, what a nightmare - how scary for the people in those houses,

YIPEEEEEEEEEEEEEE I have finished the xmas shopping, wooooo hoooo so pleased

Just spoken to m/w she said i could go ahead and have triple test, however the nuchal was much more accurate and the blood tests on there own can be very misleading and cause alot of unnecessary worry and stress - so i shant be having that then,

hope ev1 is having a nice afternoon, lisa xx

Jess, Medised is pretty much as you describe, ?a magical, safe, sleep inducing wonder-tonic for feisty children? ha ha. It?s actually a medicine, but it contains an analgesic (is that right?) which helps them sleep. I don?t use it often, but it is my child drug of choice. I am one of those who swear by it. Mothers in the UK speak of it in hushed, reverent whispers, due to its scorcery-helped properties.

LG&T: I think even pgt women are allowed to consume champers. I?m usually really good about the whole alcohol thing, but wave a glass of bubbly under my nose? ahhh?.(.goes off into a dreamy state, in a world where I can drink again???.) As for that non-alcoholic rubbish ? DH brought me home some non-alcoholic Cobra. It was, without doubt, one of the most disgusting drinks I?ve ever tasted. Good on those of you who like it?.

Creen, congrats on hearing the heartbeat. How lovely for you?..

Right, best get back to the spreadsheets??..

wewishyouamerrychristmouse · 07/12/2006 15:44

Yes 12 DOC it is the tea they drink in the Ladies Detective Agency books I think it is called Rooibush officially, let us know if you are popping round for a cuppa. It looks like you might be moving on my birthday as well.

I am so behind all of you my 20 week scan isn't until the 9 January I think there are only a cuple of you after me for this scan (CreenaberrySauce and peacemakerukuk). I think I am the last of the due in Mays at the 31st and I also seem to be the biggest at 10 sheets. Boo hoo.

On a positive note I have been dreaming about having 2 healthy babies hope this is a premonition of good things to come.

Pinkjennyjoytotheworld enjoy the new carpet whilst you can, I am contemplating getting ours cleaned and was just wondering if I could squeeze it in before Christmas.

On the name front I am thinking of Faith and Hope if we have two little girls, it just seems appropriate somehow, obviously not as suitable if one bump is a boy but will probably change our minds anyway. We struggled to find one name we agreed on the first time round never mind two this time, we could just name one each. I still do not want to find out the sex and am dreading finding out by accident as we will be having so many scans. DH did want to know but not sure if he still does.

Stop worrying about the tests my stats are awful and I am reversing it so that my DT1 has a 2/3 chance of NOT having a chromosone problem and not the other way round.

I asked my boss this morning if she wanted me to "update that whatsit on the thingy" it is a good job she is pregnant as well or would think me completely doolally. My other colleague who sits next to me has just announced she is pregnant as well and actually understood what I meant- how scary is that?

RobinRedBreastsKennedy glad I am not tha only thouygh mine is nmore when I sneeze so think those PFE must get done more often.

Iam trying so hard to catch up with everyone but it is taking me forever and I have to leave for a meeting so please forgive me if I have not caught up with you yet, I am working my way up the list of messages and you lot are just too chatty. (not complaining really its just this darn work thing that gets in the way)

GodRestYeMerryPebblemum · 07/12/2006 15:46

Creena I was told that the faster the heartbeat the more chance it was a girl but according to my midwife its the other way round under 145 and its a girl, over and its a boy. She then said that until about 30wks both sexes hearts beat the same and even then its not an ideal way to find out that sex as it doesnt always work. We were going through all the silly old wives tale yesterday of how to tell the sex ie the way you carry the bump (load of rubbish as ive carried different both times and had two boys) the swinging of a ring above the bump, the type of craving you have (savoury for boy, sweet for girl) etc.

I read about the tornado on the internet, two minutes later the weather here went crazy and i poo'ed myself, the wind got up (ive lost my garden table and stack of chairs down the end of garden )and it rained so hard you couldnt see out of the window. It turned out to be nothing (just a pregnant woman over reacting )Must be quite scary for you though RRB, being a few streets away from it Its good that your Dh had to eat his words (I like it when us woman are proved right, which is normally 99% of the time lol)

MKGnearlyimmaculateconception · 07/12/2006 16:20

I'm glad to hear everyone is good. Charleymouse sounds like you are doing great. I'm so glad to hear it.

Jess-I haven't heard of medised, it's probably illegal here, since most foreign medicines are.

I've just rearrange my kitchen cabinets because I realized that they aren't belly friendly. My bottom cabinets can fit a 13 year old in them (don't ask how I know), so everything was towards the back. So in order to rearrange that cabinet, I had to rearrange all of them.

jessinwa · 07/12/2006 17:19

illegal or not, i want some! does anyone need anything (other than frozen items or donuts ) from the us? i have to post lots of packages out by this weekend so it would be no big deal to toss in another package to your neck of the woods. (sometimes i like to say things that i think might be really american just to amuse you. like, "neck of the woods".)
sounds like you all are experiencing some icky weather. scary. i was born in a part of this country that gets a lot of tornadoes. it was always really exciting and scary when the sirens would go off at night. my parents would sometimes go outside with a six pack of beer and watch the sky. i thought they were crazy, but they always seemed to know if it was too dangerous.

largevirginbirthandtonic · 07/12/2006 17:59

I luuurrrrvvvveeee fruit roll ups, especially the cherry and grape one's....would be very happy to swap some medised for them.

LOL at dodgy smuggling over mumsnet....

Anything you would like really Jess, just ask i quite like putting packages together. We dont get lucky charms here either and im a bit of an addict, the last time i went to mexico i had quite a few stashed in my suitcase!!! They had no fruit roll ups though....the horror

largevirginbirthandtonic · 07/12/2006 18:01

Im also a tornado nut, weird i know. Ive always wanted to do one of those tornado chaser holidays

largevirginbirthandtonic · 07/12/2006 18:04

Jolly hockeysticks....hello mate....splendid...whoops a daisies....just a few very British sayings for you Jess! LOL

Pinkjennyjoytotheworld · 07/12/2006 18:15

Great to see Jordan is pregnant again. Just think girls, we can look to her for maternity fashion inspiration...

MereNoel · 07/12/2006 18:20

Hey all, Hands up I am a very naughty girl, I bought a box of 12 origional glazed kk's today................................... they were yummy, I am converted. AND GUESSE WHAT, the sign was turning so we got a free one each, well neally cause my divy dh said "No I'm fine thanks mate" when the guy offered him one. What a knob, I can't believe him sometimes.

I am also a very big medised fan, dd wont take calpol she spits it out, but is fine with medised and it makes her sleep which is great, calpol doesn't do that.

Had a play with my doppler earlier as my neices wanted to hear baby, naughty wee thing was also hiding well down in left corner, took ages to find it and my heart began to skip a beat or two in the searching process.

Must go, glad to hear you are all doing well. Keep chatting. xxx

Pinkjennyjoytotheworld · 07/12/2006 18:23

I still haven't tasted these bloody KKs. I'm starting to get a bit frustrated about it now.

Pinkjennyjoytotheworld · 07/12/2006 18:25

I keep thinking of more things once I've posted. I have my triple test on Monday. Has anyone got any idea on average how long it takes for the results to come through?

jessinwa · 07/12/2006 18:57

my pregnant brain isn't working again. i don't need you to send me any medised because my best friends are coming to visit me from london on the tenth. i will ask (order) them to bring me some. i am SO excited. i think i have mentioned them here before. they are the best.
lg&t, don't worry, i will still send you fruit roll ups and lucky charms. with pleasure! my email is jessica at jessica shaver dot com. in fact, i will send an extra little goody to the first person who can correctly guess my name! i don't feel so strange about putting it on here because that is my old name. i just changed it to my husband's name. it isn't an exciting name either.
now i want fruit roll ups. thanks.

lildrummerKel · 07/12/2006 19:26

Jess whereabouts were you born? I too am originally from the US (she says, in hushed voice, hoping neighbours won't overhear and chase us out of town) and I too was in tornado country for my younger years (Detroit, St Louis, Chicago). Lots of tornado drills and those funny green skies. Cool but scary at the same time!!

I also am a big fruit rollup fan - my mum used to be able to bribe me with them when I was six - but I can get my mum to send me some so I won't put you through the trouble. I'd also recommend poptarts (strawberry frosted) for those of you willing to sample America's finest cuisine lol!

Your real last name is now...Baker. Amiright??

lildrummerKel · 07/12/2006 19:28

OK and just decided, tomorrow morning, hail or no hail, I'm going to Kingston to gorge on KKs. I can't take the banter anymore!!!!

P.S. my dog has become were-terrier with the full moon. Barking at the wall. I kid you not...

NattyandThomasandBump · 07/12/2006 19:28

hello guys!
i disapeared from these boards for well over a month now i have just been soooo busy!

SOH nice to see you! hows everything going?

until 2 days ago i was convinced something was wrong... looking at photo's of me at same point last time i was huge compared to now, i have practically a flat stomach! so therfore my looney pregnancy mind decided id had an undiagnosed silent m/c (despite having had a scan only a few weeks before how daft am i!!)

well that is until the day before yesterday when i felt.. u guessed it the butterflys! and today i was belted so hard it actually WOKE ME UP from my nap! so i think the little tinker is ok!

just a thought.. from the lack of bump, nan is predicting its a girl as pregnancy is SOOOOO different this time. any ideas guys??

speak soon i do hope someone is online now!

lots of love

N&T&B

jessinwa · 07/12/2006 19:41

lildrummerkel, i was born in kansas city, missouri. i lived there until my parents split when i was six. then we moved to denver, colorado. not as many tornadoes there, but plenty of blizzards. i agree about poptarts. i always liked the plain blueberry ones when i was a kid but i don't think they make them anymore. and, no, my new name is not baker, but it does start with a b.
welcome back nattyandthomasandbump

twelvedaysofchristmas · 07/12/2006 20:34

Evening Ladies. LOL JonahB - I am THE most important person on my trading desk. I am THE ASSISTANT. They hate it when I go on holiday. God love them when I'm away for a year. Think I might recruit a rubbish replacement so I look even MORE marvellous.

Would you believe, RRBK, that 4 of the guys on my desk have had babies in the last couple of months and there's another one due. They're all bleedin' experts now of course. Oh and you must live near my uncle and cousin. They're the Harrow Road end of Kensal Rise. Glad you didn't get hit!

Christmouse - Don't forget that with twins you'll most likely go early, so you won't be last, don't worry!

Our vendor called last night and asked if we'd like to move the completion date to Jan 9th as his next house will be ready for him to move into. HOOORRAAYYY. Can't wait. Moving in on the 10th subject to the movers being able to work that date for us.

LVB&T - I doubt I'll be on tomorrow as am off on my LAYDEES lunch, so have a WONDERFUL time at the ball.

Sorry if I've missed anyone.

OP posts:
GodRestYeMerryPebblemum · 08/12/2006 09:36

Morning ladies

Im off out for most of the day so thought i would quickly say LVB&T, have a great time at the ball and enjoy having DH back home. Bet you cant wait!!!

Hope the rest of you are all well.

scootermum · 08/12/2006 11:37

Hi all,
Havent been able to post since last week as the interweb has been down at work.Felt like I was in purgatory, so glad to be back..

Hope all are well-but havent time to read through a weeks worth of messages so have just had to make do with a quick scan..

Am absolutely knackered-went with dh to see Paulo Nutini concert on Wednesday-standing tickets not a good idea after a day at work, last night was work Christmas meal, Lebanese food, quite nice but terrible heartburn for the pg lady, and tonight we are off to see the Charlatans play in Brixton, again standing up tickets, can already feel my knees begin to buckle..
Decided to skive work today and have a little lie in.As was driving in my boss called me from outside my office, where she had gone to deliver my birthday present..Whoops..Told her was busy buying Christmas decorations for my service as some w**r has stolen all ours.(That part is really true-how can people be so mean as to steal Christmas decs from old people?)So now will really have to go out and buy some.May go to Ikea and whilst there have some meat balls in the caff.

Look v pg today but thats possibly because already today I have had two crumpets and 6 Fox's chocolate viennese...
With ref to the weight thing-Ive no idea what I weigh as I forbade the midwife to tell me but she said my BMI was ok so im contenting myself with that...

Its my birthday on Monday and this will the the 3rd in a row that I cant drink, becuase I am always it seems, with child.I am desperate, desperate I tell you, for a pint of lager, followed by a gin and lemonade.Am considering buying myself a bottle of Kaliber and pretending very hard...

love to all..

CreenaberrySauce · 08/12/2006 12:31

Man alive, I'd really love to sink a nice, icy cold beer! I will have longings all day now, Pebble. Yesterday, it was champers and today it's beer - I'm hoping this is because I'm just longing for what I can't have rather than being a closet alcoholic!

LVB&T - is it today your DH returns? It must be, as you've got your glitzy ball tonight. I expect we won't be seeing much of you over the weekend so have a fabulous night tonight, missus!

CreenaberrySauce · 08/12/2006 12:32

Whoops, I meant Scooter not Pebble. Gah - pregnancy brain. Sorry about that!

JonahB · 08/12/2006 13:14

Can I wear that dress jordan wore in her last pgy? You know the one ? with a piece of shiny fabric at the front and some leather straps across her sides holding to another flimsy piece of shiny fabric covering her arse. Think it would suit me

What are fruit roll ups and should I be coveting them?

Twelvedays, lolls at getting a rubbish replacement. On my last mat leave, my boss got someone new in, who lasted all of 4 months before he was gently but purposefully moved on. I did feel quite smug when I heard?..How much of a cow am I .
