to be honest it didnt bother me too much and i knew that dp would laugh about it and not be too upset. his favourite question at the moment whenever i do something stupid or have any kind of ache or pain or anything = he just looks at me and says 'ahh is it a symptom? is it?' and pats me on the head. i had a cup of herbal tea before bed which was stupid as i knew i would need to get up and go, but didnt count on the toilet dream! of course hes left the sheets on for me to change when i get home, but then, i suppose i would do the same. im lucky that hes not easily offended. well, then i suppose he wouldnt be with me if he was!

lupins71 · 06/12/2006 15:46

DH is always saying, (straight out of "Your Pregnancy Bible"), as I tidy up around him, "At this stage of your pregnancy, the danger is that you do TOO much." Doesn't really make him get off his arse though.

He rang me at work on Monday evening and offered to make dinner. I nearly fell off my seat.

And he changed two lightbulbs after I said I would climb on a chair at the top of the stairs myself if he didn't do it...

lol 12doc i know where you are coming from here

twelvedaysofchristmas · 06/12/2006 15:57

Christ. I have hidden the scales since we moved. I don't want to know.

Though strangely, I have one pair of trousers which still fit me. They were always very loose and now they're snug, but figure it's still a good sign.

Hey all those early mornings, when I was getting to work at 7am, was to help one or the other of a two person team that works on my desk. (When the other was away.) They just gave me a £100 voucher for SpaceNK. Yipee! Have to pick up the laundry from the laundrette by 6pm tonight, otherwise I'd be STRAIGHT in there. I LOVE make up and stuff.

Actually, went through my make up last night, re-organising it, saddo that I am. Gives me a warm fuzzy feeling looking at it all...

I reckon I am actually keeping the MAC cosmetics company afloat all by myself. Scary. Hope DH doesn't notice.

Lupins, what is this weighing thing you speak of?

Don't own scales, couldn't tell you what I weigh. Determined not to care, hence the displacement activity re. TPT.

RobinRedBreastsKennedy · 06/12/2006 16:00

I weigh myself for a laugh* every Thursday. In the last week ive gone from 69.5kgs to 71.2 today, which is about 11st 3. My pre-preg weight was always between 9.5-10st so thats quite a gain. but at the moment I love it, as as you say Lupins its mostly bumppety bump and bouncing bazookas. Theres no mistaking that theres one in the oven now. especially since I cant stop rubbing it like the ladies in the mothercare catalouge.

  • i understand this may not make me laugh til may
Juicythe2ndnotsowiseman · 06/12/2006 16:00

My DH is sooo sweet. He is doing everything. Cooking, cleaning. Running around after me. Oh wait, hold on, that's what he always does

Now I don't even have to clean the bathrooms before he comes home, as he doesn't want me using cleaning products. Bless him.

He's making veggie soups till they fall out of the freezer to make sure I get my vitamins when he's away and I'm under strict instructions not to eat any takeaways. He's determined Pod will be the best nourished baby ever.

I think there's something wrong with me. I seem to have only put on 3lbs. I thought you were meant to put on about 10lb by now? - My bump just looks like a spare tyre

lupins71 · 06/12/2006 16:01

I was curious lol wish i hadnt bothered, i put on 5st with dd it has taken 4 yrs to get back to 8 st and size 8, am determined not to get like that this time, i had gd and put on alot of weight with that grrrr

peacemakertooneandall · 06/12/2006 16:07

Yes Careena, we can't wait, the time seems to be dragging, even with xmas coming up.

We are having real problems with boys name at the moment, we have a girls name, Faith Kyra but no boys names we can agree on. Once we know the sex it will make things easier I think

Juicythe2ndnotsowiseman · 06/12/2006 16:14

I think my baby weight has replaced my alcohol weight, and maybe that's why I haven't put on loads yet. I suppose there is still lots of time yet...

I'm just hoping that nothings wrong...

twelvedaysofchristmas · 06/12/2006 16:15

I was 11st before I started... That's 154lbs for you ladies in the US. Feck knows what I am now. Prob nearer 12. And I'm only tiny. 5ft 3. Last time I was a size 10 (around 1997 or thereabouts) my granny thought I was sick. Haha.

I'm telling myself, that when I'm not working, I'll be at home and have more time to watch what I eat. This was true when I had 6 mths off a couple of years back. I lost weight and did lots of walking and running.

Reckon living in Muswell Hill, which is, well, a hill, and pushing a buggy around will help.

Yeah, right. More time for baking lemon drizzle cake and scoffing it whilst on MN more likely.

OMG PMSL at you all... especially the keys in the fridge. Going to look in mine when finished typing this actually as we've been missing few things lately and swear I've looked everywhere...

Lupinaroundthexmastree is a good one 12DOC!!

Sorry not much wit to add at the mo, off to check said fridge.

twelvedaysofchristmas · 06/12/2006 16:19

JL, can't remember how bad your mornign sickness was... If you were bad, then you will have lost weight at the start.

I on the other hand, felt fine most of the time and scoffed whatever I could get my hands on.

Was quite funny just now. The guy next to me saw me with the doughnuts and says, (it was a joke btw) "Can't wait until you BLOW UP and you're HUGE and then I'll take the piss out of you until you CRY. Arrhaarrrharrrharrr." About 10 seconds later, completely by chance, the whole region got an email entitled "Bullying and Harassment Policy".

Mwwaaahhaa. The whole desk fell around laughing.

Peacemaker - I'm glad I'm not the only one who is finding boys names difficult. There seems to somehow be less choice, in a way.

Juicy - I think I'll stick with Mitzi rather then Morag. Morag would be way too cruel and my mum always hated it.

Poor RedKennedy - I've had those 'dying for a wee, here I am on a nice toilet, ooooh relief' type dreams. I've never followed through though, although I have on a few of my rude dreams.

RobinRedBreastsKennedy · 06/12/2006 16:20

JL Im sure thats what it is - I didnt start gaining until about a week or 2 ago, quite literally, and Im due May 19th so am slightly ahead of you if I recall? (although why im even trying..) In my booking in session I was 67.6 and that was November 9th. I was the same right until then end of November, and then last week (i swear it seems its all happened in a week) Ive ballooned. Dont worry yourself sweetheart xx

GodRestYeMerryPebblemum · 06/12/2006 16:22

Afternoon ladies have just got back form the mIdwife, all is well. She couldnt find a heartbeat at first which caused a bit of panic. The baby turned out to be lower down (below knicker line, trying to keep warm) than she was expecting and once it was found it was beating like a trooper (big sighs of relief all round)I told my midwife i was hoping for a waterbirth and she was over the moon, apparantly the pool doesnt getused anywhere near enough so theres a high chance of it being available when i need it

LVB&T its horrible when our LO's get bullied. At the beginning of the year ds1 was being bullied almost continuely by the same boy, ds1 ignored it for ages ( he knew the boy was being an idiot and he didnt let it get to him)but when it got out of hand (face being smashed against a wall) We knew we had to get serious. On advice from the school (who had tried but failed to stop the bullying previously) we got the police involved. If the boy had been a year older then we could have pressed charges but instead they just made sure the boy and his parents knew how serious it was and that if it happened again the parents would be held responsible. The bullying stopped right there and then. I think this incident may have been a one off as ds1 hasnt complained of anything happening before but its still annoyedme. You expect your kids to be safe in school. Ds1 returned to school today for all of half hour then he was sent home because he had a headache. He said it wasnt that bad but the school insisted he came home so ive had him sulking all day wanting to go back. We will try again tomorrow

MKG Alana and Danica were two names i had thought of. ds2 was going to be either Alana May or Alana Rose (if we use it this time i will go with the May one, it was my nans name and she passed away last year, ds1 has my grandads name so i think it would be quite nice) Im trying not to think of names too much until Jan when i find out the sex, i dont want to get my hopes up

I just measured myself for TPT but wish i hadnt, ive shrunk back down to 9 sheets, i reckon its because the baby is lying low because everyone ive seen today thinks i look huge. Ive also noticed my bump is off centre, its more to the right than central (obviously pissed like its dad

MKGnearlyimmaculateconception · 06/12/2006 16:27

I've decided not to weight myself as I get weighed at every checkup. I just go by my clothes. Also I had just got back to my prepregnancy weight with ds (it took a year) and the next week I was pregnant again. I know whatever I gain I can and will lose it again. So it doesn't worry me. I just started exercising again too. I figure if I eat reasonably, and exercise I can't do much else.

Megglepantomimevache · 06/12/2006 16:53

Hello all you nutters. I love that you talk about food so much [drooooooool]

I met my Doula today who was so lovely and inspirational and she's given me the confidence to go for a home birth VBAC. She's told me I'll encounter lots of resistence but has told me how to handle it- she's very supportive (phew)

Anyone here started any kind of yoga I was thinking about giving it a go but can't find any maternity classes as such.

I've put on 3 pounds but I was a stone overweight to begin with so maybe that's why. I'm probably still heavier than most of you sylphs

It's so lovely to catch up with everyone's news.

Juicythe2ndnotsowiseman · 06/12/2006 17:00

Thanks girls. Know I shouldn't worry. It's just now all the crap symtoms have gone I need some way of knowing I'm still pg. IFKWIM?

I didn't get MS too badly, but probably ate less and my alcohol consumption pre pg was 1/2 btle of wine a night plus more at the w/e's so I probably lost weight during that time. I didnt' weigh myself.

I'm 5'7" and was about 67.5/68 at the start and now I'm 69.5 and 15weeks.

I'll probably be on here in Jan complaining about how fat I've gotten!!

Hope MW listens for heartbeat on Monday, that will put my mind at rest.

Pebble - how lovely you can use your nans name for a girl.

twelvedaysofchristmas · 06/12/2006 17:12

They do a pregnancy yoga class in my work gym, but the feckers put it on at 4pm on a Weds. Great if you do a 9 to 5 regular job. Useless if you work on the trading floor as the stock exchange closes at 4.30, therefore it's the busiest time for the phones. Tch.

SnowyMeadow · 06/12/2006 18:44

RRBK - thats the funniest thingi have read! Beats me wetting my pants

SnowyMeadow · 06/12/2006 18:51

Sorry - made me laughout loud that some one esle has joined the weak bladder crew

I weighed myself today and although i feel huge and look it, i have only put on 3lbs. I currently weigh 9st 10lbs. Was 9st before ds and just couldnt shift that last 7lbs.

Feeling crap at the mo, mainly due to the horrid cold i have along with the golfs balls in my throat that seem to have razor blades attached to them!
