First trimester worries and joys. Test taking, morning sickness, midwife appointments and scans. It's all happening.

Can't believe we filled up a thread already. (I'll get this deleted if someone's already created a second thread, but I didn't see one!

grouchy I keep loosing the thread then am so behind to catch up! I've lost track :(
On my 2nd pregnancy and felt baby 11+3 and thought I was going mad. So I posted on MN and a few said they had, then had a scan and the sonographer asked have I felt baby yet as its one of the most active baby she's ever seen! I'm overweight too, but reassured me a bit that I wasn't going mad, it's like a fluttering?

29redshoes · 29/10/2015 16:33

Hello all, I've also not posted for a while as work has been so busy. Loads to catch up on! I'm so sorry there was a run of bad news, if those posters are still reading my heart goes out to you. This whole pregnancy game feels like such a lottery sometimes.

Had my scan today and was measuring two days ahead so my due date is now 9th may. Good heartbeat and no signs of NTDs at this stage which is something I was worried about as have family history.

Of course I have to have something to panic about though! Nuchal measurement was 2.2mm, which sonographer said was normal. But then I made the mistake of consulting Dr Google. It seems it's actually at the upper end of normal for my gestation (found a calculator online which said its 86th percentile!) and some people see it as a "not great" result.

Has rather taken the wind out of my sails. Was all ready to announce at work etc but now feel I should wait until the blood test results are back to be on the safe side.

GrouchyKiwi · 29/10/2015 16:46

Cantbelieve With both of my babies I had to go back for a second 12-week scan because the baby was moving so much they couldn't take accurate measurements. Might forgo my morning coffee on scan day to try to avoid a repeat!

29 Try not to worry about the nuchal measurement. (Easier said than done I know.) How long till you get the bloods back?

grouchy wow, twins! How would you feel about that? I've always thought thought twins would be lovely, although I guess rather a handful...! A little envious that you and icant have felt movement already, how exciting!

peas I'm a London commuter too and the tube has been...interesting. I have generally had good luck with the BoB badges though, I almost always get offered a seat. I find it interesting to see who offers actually, it's usually older people or women around the same age as me. Tourists never do, but I'll let them off as they probably don't know what the badge means!

lljeffro I've found nights out with drunk people a bit tough if I'm honest. I didn't realise how boring drunk people are! Do you like dancing though? Fortunately I do, and since getting pregnant I'm always first on the dancefloor. So you could try that if the others are up for it (in between their shots Halloween Grin)

parsnip glad booking in went well and you like your midwife. I think some people find booking in a bit boring but I actually quite enjoyed it.

29redshoes · 29/10/2015 16:49

grouchy they said two weeks in the post, but they call within three days if something is wrong. I think that means three working days, so I'll be on edge until the end of Tuesday at least.

frozensmoothie · 29/10/2015 16:52

Try not to worry 29 my nuchal measurement was 1.9mm and the sonographer said they wouldn't normally be concerned if it was under 3mm. Step away from Dr Google!

Bishboshbash · 29/10/2015 16:57

My nuchal fold with DS was 2.6, he is fine though so try not to worry.
I definitely look pregnant all of a sudden and seen as I had a bit of a belly already I look about 5 months gone! Going to have to get some maternity jeans next week I think.
When is your 12 week scan Grouchy? Mine is the 9th, still seems like ages away.
Hope everyone else is well x.

GrouchyKiwi · 29/10/2015 16:58

29 3 days isn't too long to wait, but also ages! Try not to think about it. Smile

I'd be delighted and terrified if we actually are having twins. I've joked for years with DH that we'd have twins for our 4th baby so we ended up with the 5 I want. So this would be a pregnancy too early. Wink

I'm sure when we go to the scan I'll feel a bit disappointed when there's only one baby in there.

Mine is 12 November, Bish. Did you have a good holiday?

ljjeffro · 29/10/2015 17:17

everything I'm really looking forward to Liverpool. What a lovely surprise for Christmas day!
29 luckily i do like dancing and so do my friends so that will be a welcome relief from some ear chewing. Mind you I'm quite happy to tell my friends when they're starting to get annoying after a few drinks Grin

MollieRos · 29/10/2015 17:22

So lovely to hear about people's bumps appearing, though I'm also very jealous! I am quite bloated and can't fit into one pair of jeans so far, but a way off an actual bump!

Welcome Everything and congratulations! My work also have a very active grapevine- it's impossible to keep anything secret! And I work almost entirely with women, who are always very eagle eyed when it comes to a possible pregnancy. A few people I work closely with do know already, but I'm trying to keep it a secret for as long as possible.

parsnip glad your booking in appt was ok, the midwives I met were lovely too, not at all intimidating and put me and DH at ease.

29 try not to worry, and hopefully it'll be good news.

Sickness has kicked in properly for me- I was doing ok till about a week ago but I've been feeling pretty rubbish since then. I'm only actually throwing up once a day generally, but I just feel so awful most of the time. the only way to get through the day is if I eat constantly, so I'm sure people will be guessing before long. Yesterday I left work a bit early, slept for an hour, ate tea, then was in bed fast asleep by 8pm. I think my rock and roll days are over Smile

I'm so impatient for my scan, it's not till 26th November, when I'll potentially be around 13wks. It seems so long away when everyone on here seems to have already had their scans ages ago!

Nicky333 · 29/10/2015 17:25

Icant, do you click on the 'I'm watching' at the top? That's the easiest way for me to find this thread. It shows all the threads you've commented on. Of course, it might not help if you comment on a lot of threads. And we're very close to a third thread too, in another 13 posts I think.

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 29/10/2015 17:40

I can't find that Nicky? I'm on my phone using it though, I don't comment on many I've got an "im on" option but if I don't comment for a day it just disappears Hmm

Bishboshbash · 29/10/2015 17:41

Sorry your feeling rubbish Mollie, hopefully its a short lived thing!
Yes holiday was good thanks Grouchy nice to see all the family and tell them our news, totally exhausted now though!

Would anyone be interested in a FB group? Much easier to keep up that way!

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 29/10/2015 17:58

I'm interested in that Bishbosh

evs34 · 29/10/2015 18:17

Fb group would be good as I find this app rubbish and hard to keep up with xx

Nicky333 · 29/10/2015 19:19

icant, I only look on here on a laptop or an iPad, never a phone. The 'I'm watching' is next to the 'I'm on' on both devices I use.

Would the FB group be totally secret? So people can't see that we've joined or that we comment?

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 29/10/2015 19:26

I've just only now seen it now you've said it - I feel so silly hahah! How to I add it to watching? Sorry I still feel like a newbie oops!

Bishboshbash · 29/10/2015 19:34

Yes it would be a secret group. I am on one from my last antenatal thread, its been great, much easier to get to know each other!

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 29/10/2015 19:38

Sounds good if ones started up let me know :)

Bishboshbash · 29/10/2015 19:41

I don't mind setting one up if people are interested. Hang on I'll give it a go...

Bishboshbash · 29/10/2015 19:54

Ok I need a guinea pig to start a group, can someone PM me their name on fb and I will try and add you please? :-)

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 29/10/2015 20:57

I PMd you bishbosh

Bishboshbash · 29/10/2015 21:20

Ok that worked! anyone else who would like to be added to May Mums(!) can you PM me your fb name! :-)

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 30/10/2015 06:57

Thanks bishbashbosh message sent!

But uuuuurrrrgghhhh I had my first attack of hysterical crying of this pregnancy yesterday followed by a night of insomnia, I feel totally wrecked! Somewhere in between two hideous tube journeys to and from work (peas I think you suffered with this too yesterday?), the new pair of maternity tights which spent the entire day 6 inches below my crotch, and stressing about ordering a new kitchen sometime today when I'm supposed to be conducting interviews at work all tipped me over the edge. We were watching something on TV last night (a comedy...) where someone was told they had a high risk of a downs pregnancy and despite there fact I have all my results back I just started absolutely sobbing and could not stop! Poor OH had no idea what to do with me...
Anyway then I lay awake since 2.30am stressing about not knowing where the new credit card is that I need for the kitchen ordering today...which I just found, but instead of trying to get extra sleep after he left this morning I was searching files and drawers, so now I am still totally wrecked and exhausted!
Sorry for the long rant, I'm just feeling a bit like a madwoman and it's not even 7am Confused
