First trimester worries and joys. Test taking, morning sickness, midwife appointments and scans. It's all happening.

Can't believe we filled up a thread already. (I'll get this deleted if someone's already created a second thread, but I didn't see one!

Hi Peter I had some cramping for two evenings last week but no spotting or anything. Literally only noticed it as I lay in bed and it was over as soon as it started. My symptoms seem to fluctuate wildly, very nauseas today but forcing myself to eat so that keeps it at bay. Is it just me or is anyone else loving keeping it a secret? Just feel like my partner and I are in the loveliest little bubble at the moment Wink

PisforPeter · 28/09/2015 21:26

Yes, the secret is nice but dating scan is not till 16th November which seems like ages away.

Nicky333 · 28/09/2015 21:59

Bejeena and ICan't - nothing has stopped, but nothing has started. I'll be 6 weeks tomorrow and nothing. No morning sickness, no rattiness, no sore boobs (but that's because mine are ENTIRELY fake), no weird cravings.

Maybe a couple of little niggles but now I'm telling myself they're on the left, which means ectopic. (Yes, I read too much Google). I had one cramp on Saturday morning, all across my lower stomach, that lasted for about 5 seconds.

Reading that back, I'm worrying too much, aren't I? Hmm

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 28/09/2015 22:17

I'm a worrier too, I was in hospital last week with suspected ectopic and was fine (well it wasn't that!) but every twinge im the same.
You could be a mega lucky one with no symptoms!
Could ring GP or mw, mention pain and you'll be seen in epu and probably get a scan, that will reassure you. And at 6 weeks your babbas heartbeat will be seen :)

Nicky333 · 28/09/2015 22:29

Thanks ICant, we have our midwife appointment on Wednesday so I'm going to mention it then. I'm 40 as well, which puts me high risk.

Southy84 · 28/09/2015 22:43

Wow so much has gone on! I will try and read back. But just wanted to reassure you odog my brown spotting lasted just over a week and everything was ok, I would however phone and see if you can see someone just to put your mind at rest, I too can't believe how many have had spotting, I really didn't think it was that common either mama!

Some people don't have lots of symptoms nicky my mum said she didn't, the only thing that made her think she could be was that she was on a diet but stopped losing weight!

icant I had suspected ectopic too, our minds go crazy don't they and havjng suffered cramps and spotting I did think the worst. Trying to relax a bit now tho ... Trying!

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 28/09/2015 22:46

Aw bless you southy it's horrible isn't it, and such a scare!
Pregnancy half doesn't cause anxiety!

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 28/09/2015 22:46

And I hope weds goes ok nicky

Nicky333 · 28/09/2015 22:59

Thanks ICant and Southy. I think we're all worriers on here and yes, I didn't know that spotting was this common either!

Bluepigoon · 29/09/2015 06:46

Nicky I was panicking about lack of symptoms a while ago too, but my midwife told me it was completely normal. I had an early scan last week because of spotting and my bean was fine. According to the scan dates I'm 8+5 now and my symptoms are only slightly sore boobs and feeling a little bit tired. I think the first trimester is mostly about worry!

MollieRos · 29/09/2015 08:04

Hi grey, not to wish sickness on you at all (it sounds absolutely awful!) but I'm glad your symptoms are back! Smile fingers crossed for your scan on Saturday.

Peter I'm 5+2 and I've been getting slight cramps for the last few days. Mine seem to be worse in the evening and when I go to bed, and I've had some more painful ones (though still not particularly bad) during the night the last 2 nights. no bleeding though, thank goodness. Cramps do seem to be a very common in early pregnancy so I'm trying not to worry.

Mamama31 · 29/09/2015 08:14

Nicky up to 6 weeks I only had sore boobs and felt tired. Some slight food aversions- ate mostly carbs. A few days later the nausea kicked in so either your very lucky or it just hasn't hit yet! My friend went through her whole pregnancy without any symptoms and all was fine. She was just very lucky.

PeasinPod1 · 29/09/2015 08:45

No real symptoms here ether at 7+3...v sore nipples, boobs def getting bigger and still just bloated and off any food that isn't deeply unhealthy/junk food Shock

GizzyBoo · 29/09/2015 09:32

Same here Peas.
I'm so bloated. Get rib and back pain after eating. Odd wave of nausea which goes if I eat something suitably stodgy and full of carbs.

Lots of stretching pain here too. Ive had previous surgery (tummy tuck) and the car tissue inside is very tight.
Anyone else finding it painful to cough or sneeze? I have to brace myself and get sharp stabby pains for a minute after. Maybe that's the scar tissue under pressure too.
I'm finding lots of my cramping is down to bloating, trapped wind and constipation. How very glamorous! Confused

I'm taking #4 to toddlers for the second morning in a row. Surely that earns me half hour of cbeebies and a nap this afternoon?

GrouchyKiwi · 29/09/2015 09:39

I am so dizzy today. Can't even face a shower or hanging out the washing. House is a tip, have people coming over tonight. Argh.

I don't remember this from previous pregnancies.

ToffeeAppleMarsBar · 29/09/2015 10:02

I'm being a right wuss this morning and have called in sick to work. Not even BEEN sick this morning but have been really heaving something terrible and I just don't want to move. Does make pregnancy feel a bit more real.

Toast is my friend today!

Gosh, so much is happening on this thread now. So many appointments that all seem to be going super well. I've got GP appointment tomorrow to be referred to the midwife. Exciting! Know it won't be an exciting appointment but I'm looking forward to learning how it all works.

Ugh. Anyone else feel like they just don't know what to do to make themselves feel better?

TiffanyAtBreakfast · 29/09/2015 10:08

Morning all. Feeling really yuck today too, haven't been able to face breakfast (very unlike me! lol).

Grouchy Oh nooo, how long have you got to tidy, all day?

Gizzy that definitely earns you an afternoon snooze!

ODog · 29/09/2015 10:09

Spoke to epu and they have booked me on for a scan at 2pm. Feeling. But nervous now. Luckily I'm working from home today so my mum has DS anyway.

Nicky333 · 29/09/2015 10:14

Hope it all goes well today ODog

GrouchyKiwi · 29/09/2015 10:42

Tiff Yes, they're coming for dinner and to babysit the children. Managed a shower and washing so hopefully it's better now.

PeasinPod1 · 29/09/2015 11:12

Odog sure you will come out of the scan with a big smile on your face and feeling much calmer, good luck. Toffee also have my GP appointment/to set up 1st midwife tomorrow, very exciting! Smile

FluffyPersian · 29/09/2015 11:14

Best of luck 0dog - Hope everything goes really well Smile

ODog · 29/09/2015 11:38

Thanks everyone. I'm currently sitting waiting for my booking bloods to be done. It's all going on today! Not had by actual booking in appt yet though Hmm
