Hope everyone is feeling much better as these last few weeks/ months to dome seems not to be going so good including myself.

I've still got sore gum/ itchy and the antibiotics that I'm taking don't seem to be doing jack ... I've not slept properly 2 days now with the excruciating pain I've kind of forgot about the baby ( counting kicks etc)

Well this evening I've had enough of it all so I actually brushed my teeth and gums with clove oil ( in desperation) and I was neatly pulling my hair out.

I'm off to birth and relaxation class tomorrow afternoon hope the tooth and gum settle. I don't think I could go into labour with tooth ache and swollen gums agrrrr!

I've not had any braxton hicks, or none that I've felt anyway. When I was in for monitoring last week the machine picked up tightening that I wasn't feeling!

teddy the reason I'm not enjoying maternity leave is the panic to get what has to be done done before I get induced early. I was hoping for 4/5 weeks of relaxing, going swimming, Xmas shopping, watching movies... But instead I have a week of rushing about trying to tidy my house and sort out what we desperately need!

Hope your mouth gets better soon Cheshire have you been given corsodyl? Hope you still enjoy your birth class.

Staying in all day today, it looks and sounds awful out there! Need to get hubby to build the drawers and then I can decant stuff into them and get rid of bags and boxes :-D that will make me feel happier :-D

Have a nice Sunday ladies x

SnozzberryPie · 15/11/2015 11:33

Chops I never felt any braxton hicks in my last pregnancy but when my waters broke I went into hospital and they said the same thing - the machine was picking up 'tightenings' which I couldn't feel at all. They gradually got stronger till they felt like period pains, then full on labour. Apparently braxton hicks are much more common in subsequent pregnancies.

I didn't realise I was having BH last time until a midwife told me I was having one whilst she was feeling my tummy! My bump used to go really hard and I thought it was just baby sticking her bum out... this time they are actually feeling quite uncomfortable, though not painful.

Hope your toothache and sore gums get better cheshire, can you try and get some different antibiotics if the ones you have are not doing anything?

Cheshirehello79 · 16/11/2015 01:00

Well labour and relaxation class was fab would definetly recommend it to anyone. Hope you've all got birth ball ( gym/ yoga ball)

Tooth ache/ gums still causing trouble looking to book an emergency appointment tomorrow and ask them to remove the filling they did whilst on second trimester and put some antibiotic inside and see what happens as they can't do root canal until they can X-ray . I think it's something to do with my hormones flaming all my gums and just causing me the argaaaaaaaa !!!! What I fear is that if I'm still on antibiotics and go into labour apparently won't be able to breast feed :-(

I'm so not enjoying these last month !

Who told you that about breastfeeding cheshire? I'm pretty sure that's not true. If you go to the website of the Breastfeeding Network there's a fact sheet on antibiotics and bf with a long list of different drugs that are all safe to take whilst bf.

Cheshirehello79 · 16/11/2015 23:55

I read it online metal but seeing my one to one midwife so will get more clarification.

Cheshire last time I was given antibiotics during labour due to prom (ie. My waters breaking at the start of labour, which increases the risk of infection). I think this is quite common if your waters break a long time before birth. There was no problem with me breastfeeding because of this. The only problem I can think of is that antibiotics can give you thrush which can show up in your nipples (!) when bfing and is rather painful, but you can take probiotics to prevent this happening and it can be treated if you do get it.

Metalhead · 17/11/2015 18:21

Anybody else feel like a punching ball? I never thought I'd say this but I wish she would stop moving quite so much... of course it's reassuring and I'm glad she seems to be a happy bunny in there but I've been sooo uncomfortable the last few days! Sad

Cheshirehello79 · 18/11/2015 01:19

Well decided to end the never ending pain of my tooth ache today and got it extracted after an emergency appointment. Had midwife checkup and after her confirming that yes guys you are right antibiotics are safe and will be able bf after the dose but the fact that I was in so much pain that's distressing me and the baby I had 3 options - more antibiotics and pain killers which went doing nothing anymore- extract- or open the filling get it cleaned with antibiotics but because my gums are still inflamed that might be a useless task as will still be in pain. Well had local anasthetic and just healing now.

Suddenly after 6 days of agony I can feel baby movements as I was in that much pain and couldn't care less about the pregnancy( as bad as it may sound) . Baby was happy when midwife listened to heart beat today as well which was reassuring .

38 weeks tomorrow :-)

What an awful nights sleep, saw every hour again. Very itchy too. The Midwife left a prescription for me at the GP surgery yesterday but I didn't have time to pick it up by the time I got home from town yesterday, so wish I had :-( Tired and hungry but I'm nil by mouth until I've had my liver scan :-( appointment at 9am which means rush hour bus commute to the hospital, oh how I've missed it, not!

Glad you've sorted out your mouth pain Cheshire Grin

metal wish I was being used as a punch bag! I need the reassurance of bub moving due to this flipping liver condition. Went in for reduced movements Sunday and nearly did again yesterday but for a last minute reprieve.

Big day tomorrow where I find out if I'm being induced next week!!!

Sorry if tmi but had some bloody discharge this morning. Half wondering if its a bit of the mucous plug... Not ready yet. Baby and membranes have to stay put for now please.

Hope you're all doing OK xx

Metalhead · 19/11/2015 12:34

Could well be the start of things mrsdiddly, though even if it is I think it can vary quite a bit as to how close you are to things kicking off (from hours to days).

I thought something was happening for me last night, but it was a false alarm - suddenly got this really strong period-type pain, but it was only on the left and lasted for about five minutes before going away again. Must have just been baby lying awkwardly I guess.

So I just read the junior doctors will strike on 1 December, meaning routine operations will have to be cancelled. I really hope that doesn't affect my ELCS, which is scheduled for the 2 December! Don't think I can face having to wait any longer... I'll have to ask what the likelihood is that it'll have to be postponed at my pre-op appointment next week if I haven't heard anything by then. Talk about bad timing!

chopsface · 19/11/2015 12:34

It could be diddly but it doesn't mean labour is imminent, how many weeks are you now?

chopsface · 19/11/2015 12:38

There are a few in your situation on the Facebook group too metal I hope you're not affected.

Off to see the consultant in a bit after a long morning waiting! Wish me luck!

Metalhead · 19/11/2015 15:12

Thanks chops, I just spoke to the midwifery liaison office and they said planned C-sections shouldn't be affected, so fx! (I guess that, while its not quite emergency surgery, it is more time sensitive than say a hip replacement, so they'll probably try and stick to their schedule.)

Good luck with your appointment, let us know how you got on.
