chops Shock oh my goodness. Have you had any itching? I can't remember you mentioning it (but have serious baby brain). Glad they've picked it up and hope the monitoring and scan goes ok. Will they see you this week? I'm guessing so.

Well I've been booked in for a scan at 38 weeks by the sonographer, but I see my consultant on Thursday and expect them to proceed and book me in for a section at 39 wks. Think I'm lucky at the moment as so far (tough wood) no bleeding. Spoke to my mw about it and she said it was unlikely to move enough now for a normal delivery, although not unheard of.

Metalhead · 09/11/2015 10:40

Oh my gosh that must have been quite a shock chops! But good that it's been picked up, I'm sure there are ways they can treat it and make sure you and baby are safe. And even if you do need to be induced early it's not the end of the world, at least you'll avoid another few weeks of being huge and uncomfortable.. (trying to look at the positives). Let us know how you get on with the consultant.

Good luck with your scan and appointments too mrs. If your placenta doesn't shift we can be CS buddies! Wink

Nothing much to report here, I seem to finally have managed to shake this annoying virus I had, but in return I now just cannot get comfortable in bed anymore; no matter what I try I end up tossing and turning for ages as bump is so heavy and my back is so achy. [sigh]

Cheshirehello79 · 09/11/2015 22:44

Oh my chops hope you're ok - it's good that they've picked that up and they will be looking after you . Stay positive and get your hospital bag ready stat.

Mrs hope all goes well got you too at the end of the day baby had to come out one way or the other so I guess which ever way as long as all is well you should be fine :-)

Metal glad virus gone. Talking about being comfortable I can't sit on the chair or sofa comfortably now so just bouncing on my birth ball if I gave to sit down. Sleeping is a task I'm not loving it at all and Brixton hicks are still very frequent. I've started having terrible heart burns when I've laid down so seeing consultant in hospital tomorrow as I'm scarred might choke myself whilst sleeping.

Officially 37 weeks ( full term tomorrow) and getting the feeling I'm just ready to pop as everything is sort of a task now already.

Hello all, can I join you? Bit late, I know... I'm due with DC2 on January 1st, but according to my LMP/cycle length etc., I reckon that my due date should be December. In any case, I will most likely have an ELCS in December (currently booked in for the 22nd), so I reckon that should be here, rather in the January antenatal thread...

I'm 32+5 today, finishing work in 4 weeks, yay! Everything is getting a bit cumbersome now. The antenatal appointments are starting to ramp up, I seem to have something almost every week now... But somehow, it still doesn't seem real sometimes! Especially since I have forgotten everything since DS (he's 4.5), I really hope that it'll all come back to me!

SnozzberryPie · 11/11/2015 14:38

Welcome cloudjumper!

I'm now on maternity leave, yay! Today I went swimming which was lovely, I swam a lot in my first pregnancy but I don't get the chance these days.

I'm 37 weeks tomorrow and just sent dp out for some bits I'll need if I have a home birth. We've already had a trial run filling the birth pool, dp was unimpressed to discover he has to fill it with buckets as we have funny shaped taps which won't fit the tap connectors.

Hope everyone else is OK, especially those with misbehaving placentas, livers etc.

chopsface · 11/11/2015 17:59

Hi all! Congrats on reaching full term Cheshire and snozz and probably metal by now too?

A positive diddly, like me... You will know when you will meet your bean xx

I am seeing the consultant next Thursday and having a scan, feels like an age away :-( Trying to pack my hospital bag now I'm off work but I seem to be missing a lot. Going shopping with my friend on Friday and going to buy some cheap nighties etc from primark.

Welcome cloud!

mrsdiddlydoo · 11/11/2015 18:14

Big wave to cloud Smile

Wow... Full term Cheshire and snozz!

2 days left at work. Friday can't come soon enough... Full of cold and sore belly button.

snozz can you get an adaptor for the taps? Did it take long to fill with buckets? Would love a hb just not confident enough and anyway, low placenta would gave scuppered those plans. We live really close to a great mlu so if I could that would be our choice.

Can't believe I'm actually at a point where I'm asking this... How big are your hospital bag(s)? I've an emergency one packed in case I have bleeding but not done my 'real' one yet. I remember last time most the clothes for DS were too small which was hilarious. He was very long! The last couple of days I have actually started feeling excited about this which has been a long time coming. I also can't stop walking into things and have serious baby brain. Sorry if I'm repeating myself!

SnozzberryPie · 11/11/2015 21:27

Apparently not diddly - all of our taps are dodgy ones that dp bought from Chinese ebay sites unusual sizes so we can't get a hose pipe adaptor, oh well at least filling the pool will keep dp quiet. It took him about half an hour so not too bad really.

We have no mlu near us so it is hospital or home and I wasn't keen on the hospital last time so hoping to avoid it this time around.

I have a hold all hospital bag in case I need to transfer in, with enough for two nights. I've also packed a small suitcase (airline hand luggage size) with more of everything in case of a long stay.

I also have a sore belly button, it is just about ready to pop into an 'outy'.

Cheshirehello79 · 12/11/2015 03:43

Cloud welcome to dec grads

It's official well you can all guess from the time I'm typing this that I can no longer sleep. I'm wide awake since 10pm when I got into bed :-(

One positive though it's officially I'm full term .. Oh yeah high 5 to snooze and metal you're on your way.

Unfortunately been having really sore gums despite spending a fortune on an electric tooth brush and my old filling has now inflamed and I'm on antibiotics - it's agony bet that's why I can't sleep but been popping some paracetamol to try and ease pain.

Went to see consultant re my terrible heartburn and he ordered a scan yesterday and though everything else is fine consultant pointed out that baby growth had decelerated so I'm going for another scan in 2 weeks (39 weeks) and if things haven't changed most likely I'm going to be induced at exactly 40 weeks and they are not going to let me go over ( well I guess it's good and not so good news)

My hospital bag is all packed I've got a hold-all with big my stuff and baby together:
My stuff
2 nighties and pair of pjs
1 dark dressing gown
10 pairs big knickers
2packs of 10 always nights

Good list Cheshire, I would add something to wear on your feet - slippers and flip flops (toilet floors aren't always the cleanest). If you do end up being induced then take some entertainment for the boring early part, and eye mask / ear plugs so you can sleep on the ward.

Just a thought about your gums, when I had terrible heartburn with dd I got a really sore throat due to the acid burning my throat - I wonder if it could be aggravating your gums too?

mrsdiddlydoo · 12/11/2015 13:19

You are amazingly organised Cheshire I've packed earplugs in mine and plan to take an eye mask aswell. Hope you managed to get some sleep in the end. I'm struggling sleeping too. It's ridiculous. But part of it!!

So 38 wk scan cancelled and form for section filled in. Just waiting for a call about dates and pre op assessment. Seems I really am considered high risk to them ... Something I struggle to get my head round yet... And section will be around 39 wks unless something happens before. O m g...

Cheshirehello79 · 12/11/2015 17:37

Good shout snooze forgot my slippers and socks all packed now and some flipflopps. Makes sense the heartburn burn and acid thing. I do fee like much better today hope I can i can some good nights sleep.

Will try get some earplugs stat . hope you get your date soon Mrs and no more waiting( exciting times :-)

Good list cheshire..... You seem very organised....i keep thinking of getting my hospital bag started but just dont seem to get down to it.

Happyteddy · 12/11/2015 23:29

Diddlydoo....i hope u get your c- sec date soon. Best of luckSmile

Cheshirehello79 · 12/11/2015 23:33

I just felt the earlier you pack it you notice if there's anything missing and you can get it then. I'm on my own so if not well organised and leave it last minute for mum who'll be with me and sisters they won't have a clue where to start in the house - doesn't help I've just moved to new place. I've had to label some stuff to make easier for family in case end up staying in hospital longer ( you never know these things!)

Cheshire......thats true...better to be organised than miss out on things

mrsdiddlydoo · 13/11/2015 16:39

I'm officially on maternity leave ... Well 3 weeks leave first but that's me done. Smile totally surreal.

Thanks teddy and Cheshire

SnozzberryPie · 13/11/2015 16:50

Hooray mrsdiddly. Mat leave is great. Today I have been to aquanatal then spent the afternoon putting the last three years worth of photos in albums. I can't imagine getting bored of this.

chopsface · 14/11/2015 07:08

Morning ladies, preggo insomnia strikes again!

I'm currently not enjoying maternity leave Sad how bad is that? Started annual leave on Wednesday which was meant to last until Dec 7th. As I might be induced week of Nov 23rd I need to contact my boss to start my Maternity when bub is born. He's already agreed to carry over my leave and add it to the end. So far this week I've been trying to sort the house out, my hospital bag, and hospital appointments that need chasing up as my hospital is shite. Next week is taken up by 3 out of 5 days with some medical appointment or other, 2 at the hospital. Am feeling like I have no chillout time for just me before the baby :-(

Sorry for the me post, hope you're all well x

Metalhead · 14/11/2015 15:20

Hi all, sounds like most of us are on maternity leave now! Sorry yours hasn't been very relaxing so far chops, but at least you don't have to do all the house stuff and hospital appts whilst worrying about work as well. Can you try and combine your hospital trips with something nice, like lunch out or coffee with friends?

My bags are all packed now apart from last minute things like make up and phone charger that I'm still using daily. I've got two hand luggage sized suitcases, one for me and one for baby.

Yesterday I was temporarily worried I might be going into early labour, had really strong Braxton Hicks all day and my back was aching too. Thankfully it was a false alarm and seems to have calmed down again today, but any kind of mild exertion seems to bring on the BH contractions these days. 18 days to go until my section... hopefully baby will stay put until then!

mrsdiddlydoo · 14/11/2015 16:13

Well day 1 of maternity leave so far has involved waking up at 3 am bleeding and being admitted. Exhausted but we're OK. Darn low placenta. Likely to be here until late tomorrow, but if it starts again I could be here until baby comes. Steroid injections sting! Might be a Nov baby now...

Sending big weekend love to everyone esp chops

chopsface · 14/11/2015 18:33

Hope you're OK diddly Confused rest up x

Did anyone hear from pizzacat after her scare a while back?

SnozzberryPie · 14/11/2015 18:44

How many weeks are you metalhead? I'm having braxton hicks and backache too but I don't know if this is the early signs of labour or or just normal for late pregnancy (my last labour started with waters breaking with no warning signs that I remember)

I am 37 weeks now so on the one hand going into labour would be OK, except that dd has been poorly with a high temperature and not sleeping, so I don't want to have the baby till she's better and I've had a good night's sleep!

Mrs that sounds stressful. If it is any consolation the steroid injections were the worst part of my labour with dd, I found them really painful!

Metalhead · 14/11/2015 19:13

Sorry to hear about your bleed mrs, I hope it settles down and you don't have to stay in hospital!

I will be 37 weeks on Monday snozberry. Part of me wouldn't mind if baby came a bit early, though I would be a bit concerned about still getting my section in that case as it would be handled as an emergency, and also we haven't rally got anyone to look after DD1 until my parents arrive on the 24th.. Having said that, I had lots of BH last time as well so I don't think it means labour is imminent just yet.

Happyteddy · 14/11/2015 23:41

Sorry to hear thats you are not enjoying your maternity leave chopsface....give yourself sometime....it took me a week to ten days to get used to being at home.
