started a new thread as the old one was getting full up. Thought I would post the link to stats here too so people can update if they want!

Thinking about it, it's pretty awful that you have to buy the tokens for the pictures before you know everything is alright! We only paid for one (£4) but the sonographer let us take pictures on our phones of all the ones she'd taken and they came out much brighter than the one she printed off! So I haven't even really looked at the hard copy one!

I'm not going to buy a Doppler Rosie. Watching the midwife yesterday it seemed like you do need to know what you're doing to find the baby's heartbeat and distinguish it from your own. I'd probably just end up worrying myself if I couldn't find it!

vroc81 · 24/09/2015 13:02

Trijo hope you're feeling better now, well done for the bloke getting you, some people do look up on the tube then!

Had my 16 week appointment this morning, met my midwife as was on holiday last time, she's lovely but failed to find a heart beat! She had started with a its not always easy at 16 weeks so don't worry if I can't, ha easier said than done although had read that not everyone does it as its a bit unreliable finding it at this stage.. but dispatched me straight off to the hospital for them to find it, which they did, straight away and even my colleague heard about 15m away! Big sigh of relief and glad I packed chocolate for lunch.

Rosieblossom123 · 24/09/2015 13:05

Yeah Me that's what I'm worried about it, because my midwife was also chasing my baby around with the doppler so If that's the case I won't know what's happening and don't want to start panicking!

vroc81 · 24/09/2015 13:07

And congrats on the scan magpie, forgot to press refresh and there had been a load of posts between reading and writing!! I'm not superstitious and I bet there's no running late on Friday 13th!

Gingerlady123 · 24/09/2015 13:08

Tri- hope your ok now.
Suz and vroc- glad heartbeats where found.
Dreading mine as I have an anterior placenta so I think it might not be found. If she tries at all.
Still throwing up. Today I threw up even though I took my phenergan, before phenergan it was 4-5 times daily. Fed up of it. 14+5 and no end in sight to it.
Just want to go home.
I'm lucky photos are free at my hospital. I think they charge dreadful prices.

Gingerlady123 · 24/09/2015 13:09

Speaking of Friday 13th my sil is booked in for her elcs on that date.
I'm not at all superstitious though

magpiedreams · 24/09/2015 13:14

Yes, making you pay before you know if its ok is a bit bad and £10 was the lowest price for 4, no option for just buying one.
At my MMC the sonographer said 'I'm sorry to tell you there's no heartbeat. If you want a refund for any pictures we can arrange it'. Made me laugh amid the tears, as if a few quid is what you're bothered about when your whole world seems to fall apart in those few seconds! Not the best breaking bad news ever...
We can laugh about it now, hence my running irritation with DH for throwing it away. He said it made him sad every time he came across it, so binned it, quite sweet really. suz I'm more on your DH's way of thinking!

Great to hear those of you hearing heartbeats, good idea to record it and listen back, aww!

TriJo · 24/09/2015 13:55

Feeling a bit better now but quite tired and it's hard to focus on my code at work. Blargle. I did actually have my badge on today. Had to go back to the hospital this morning before I headed in to work because I had to give a repeat urine sample and saw women with significantly less bump than what I have at the moment (14+4 today and there's quite a distinct bump shape going on!) wearing them so just said fuck it, why not...

We didn't have to pay for pics at the 12 week scan - we will at the 20 week one though. There was also a sign up in the scan room for the 12 week one requesting no phones.

ThePug · 24/09/2015 15:42

Hayley I'm 16 weeks today and don't have my 20 week scan date yet! Have my midwife appointment on Monday so presuming she will request it then, as she did for my dating scan.

When do we become '4 months'? Because 40 weeks divided by 4 would be 10 months, so we're not there yet! If my maths is right I think 4 months is at 17 + 4. Do we agree?

Just got home from my overnight flight from the US - wondering how long it'll be until I crash out completely. At the hospital for my consultant appointment tomorrow and wondering if I can convince them to scan me just to check everything is still all well.

BeautifulLiar · 24/09/2015 16:03

I think 4 months is 5 months before your due date! So for me October 8th.

Rosieblossom123 · 24/09/2015 16:10

I thought that 16 weeks is 4 months? I'm not sure.

Me624 · 24/09/2015 16:25

I'm counting 4 months as 4 months from my LMP, which for me is Tuesday when I'll be 17+4.

RhubarbAndMustard · 24/09/2015 16:30

My 'What to expect when your expecting' book says the 4th month is weeks 14-17. But an app said welcome to your 4th month today (16 weeks).

BeautifulLiar · 24/09/2015 17:07

Weird that everyone has different opinions, ha!

Fwiw - anyone who isn't sure whether to find out the sex - I'm so glad I did. I love thinking of her as a little person, who we've already named. DH climbed into bed last night (he stayed over, yay!) and said "hey baby girls" was so cheesy but sweet.

Ginger - I thought my sickness was miserable but yours sounds awful. Poor you. Really hope it stops for you soon. I think I have an anterior placenta too. I don't feel movements yet (16 + 2).

Rosieblossom123 · 24/09/2015 17:24

Beautiful That's why I want to know I hate calling my baby 'the baby' or 'It' haha

I'm 16+ 4 today and still can't feel any movements :( I thought I did last night but it was my cat purring which really annoyed me as I got really excited felt a bit like a plum! Blush

Me624 · 24/09/2015 18:00

Me neither Rosie and my midwife said yesterday that not many first timers will feel anything this early and that I should probably expect to be past 20 weeks before I feel anything. That's not long though!

Rosieblossom123 · 24/09/2015 19:07

You're right Me my midwife said the same, just frustrating seeing baby move but can't feel it! No not long hopefully the next 3/4 weeks don't drag!!

dobbythedoggy · 24/09/2015 21:05

I've been shopping for dd this evening and out for tea with my mum. She seems to have shot up over the last week so all her t-shirts, vests and loads of her dresses have suddenly become far too short. Just have to sort through the bags of hand me downs we've got and work out where on earth I'm going to put all the things that don't fit anymore. I was really hoping to wait until post scan before doing all that!

Found it very hard to resist the baby clothes...but I do have an 80l box of each size stacked up in our bedroom. If we have a little boy I'm going to spend ages selling on all the girly stuff. Will have to add a couple of brand new bits too but dd has always had so many clothes!

I seem to have developed a stinking cold. Despite the bunged up streaming nose I can still smell EVERYTHING. Annoyingly tissues seem to stink horriably. The builders down the road forced us out the house as they've been digging up and laying new tarmac.

tri glad you're feeling better now. Fainting is horriable, almost done it a couple of times this time around. Once while in town with dd and once at home. Atleast at home I could just lay on the floor as soon as I felt feeling faint.

Sorry you're still feeling rough ginger, sickness is horriable. I'm still being sick most morning at 17+1. Unfortantly I was sick most of the time with dd so thinking I might go the same way again. I was taking phenergon but managed to stop at 13 week as I was still bring sick on it once or twice a day. Before meds I was being sick almost all day, lost count of the number! The same off it but feel better not being sedated every night! Have you tried any indegestion remedies, I descovered acid reflux/indegestion was making me sick quite late on with dd. I take something after each meal and beofre bed which keeps my stomach more settled.

ffauxlivia · 25/09/2015 01:28

Another one with an anterior placenta here - well the nurse said it was on the top so not sure if that's the same thing? She said I likely won't feel kicks 'till after 20 weeks, boo hoo!

Am 14 weeks today and really want to have a bump so I feel more pregnant! Just have a small bit of hardness really. Went to prenatal yoga last night and everyone else had 26+ week bumps, I felt like such a fraud

Also does anyone know when we get the beautiful thick pregnancy hair my friends talked about?! My hair is so fine - I've been looking forward to it thickening up but it's still falling out the same rate it always has!! Maybe it doesn't happen for everyone?

Aw hope you feel better soon Ginger, and hope you enjoyed Minneapolis Pug!

BeautifulLiar · 25/09/2015 06:17

I think second trimester = thick hair although probably not for everyone... hopefully not me as it's thick enough! I got the hairdresser to thin it out yesterday actually!

I feel huge but EVERYONE says you can't even tell I'm pregnant. One of the nursery teachers said "you just look like you had an extra large pea for lunch". Damn! I guess it's good to be small in a way, I don't want a big baby and I'm hoping my body will go back again...

IndomitabIe · 25/09/2015 06:39

My belly is enormous. I'm having real trouble finding clothes to cover it (too short/tight, but maternity things way too big). Boo.

I don't think I get the thick hair thing. Mine stays thin, fine and limp.

We're away this weekend. There'll be a hot tub. I'm not allowed in the hot tub, am I?

What am i going to wear today?!

MyNameIsSuz · 25/09/2015 06:47

Mine's getting pleasingly round too, I'm fully in maternity jeans too. Indomitable, I've been wearing stretchy h&m vests under a loose jumper (it seems boxy is in again so there are lots about!), today I'm going to go for it and wear a plain maternity top I got from gap - it doesn't have the ruching down the sides or anything so just looks like a normal top. Yesterday was the first time people mentioned a bump, it was the first day I wore something tight (a fairly long fine knit jumper with a bit of stretch).

Oh, and my hair and nails never do anything. But my skin does clear up beautifully!

BeautifulLiar · 25/09/2015 06:51

I'm really spotty!

I've been wearing long vests under jumpers too. Or my fake bump bands i.e. boob tubes from Primarni.

Leggings, leggings, leggings!

RhubarbAndMustard · 25/09/2015 07:22

Looks like we are all in the same maternity uniform. I'm in my maternity skinny jeans mostly, with long vest top and jumper too. I can just about still wear my regular ones but not as comfy.
I took advantage of the Verbaudet sale as need more work clothes. I've ordered 3 tops, 1 jumper, 1 jeans, 1 trousers and a skirt. Should arrive today. Just hope it all fits! Came in at just over £100 which I didn't think was too bad.

Me624 · 25/09/2015 09:32

My ASOS package arrived yesterday but I was quite disappointed - I'm returning 5 out of 9 dresses! Some of them are very cheap looking material. You get what you pay for I suppose.

I've ordered a few more bits now from New Look but I'm struggling to find any really smart dresses for work. I'm a lawyer and I can get away with being a bit more casual in the office but I need something smart for when I need to go to court. Any recommendations? I've looked at Seraphine and everything they do seems to be made of Jersey still! Normally I buy smart dresses from places like Reiss or Hobbs but none of them seem to do maternity ranges.
