Also, do we still have a list to update with dates etc?

ComeLuckyApril · 29/10/2015 08:41

ping eeee! oh I hope it is. It's tiny, tiny feelings, I can't wait to get more certain ones.

All I know so far about birth options is that I've been told I have to be in hospital because of my epilepsy, but a water birth might still be an option if I stay seizure free, and I'd like one of those, or failing that, a mobile epidural if my hospital offer it. I don't like the idea of pethidine etc but they don't recommend those with epilepsy anyway.

Seeing my midwife today! I hope she will try to hear the heartbeat.

Hi all, can I join? I'm 14 weeks (tomorrow) with dc2...already have a 2 year old dd. This is my 4th pregnancy...mc twice. The second time was just before I conceived this little one so I've been quiet nervous. Had a perfect scan. Bubba is doing fine. Only thing is I'm suffering from hyperemesis like I did with dd so I'm heavily medicated to ensure I can keep some food and water down...touch and go really. Starting to have some okish days where I vomit only a few times followed by many awful days. Sorry for going on. Anyway I'm due April 29th...6 days after my own birthday!

Rinnyx · 29/10/2015 08:45

I was one of them people that fell on the pill, it just makes more of a point to me personally that this baby really wanted to be here and as they say, life finds a way.

In talks of birth I've been given the heads up I might end up having a home birth cause both births where so fast I just might not make it to the hospital in time, warned MIL last night

I'm now getting the fun of all the growth pain around the lower part of my bump and having to 'man spread' if I'm sitting down and want to lean forward

RalucaMorena · 29/10/2015 09:46

Hi all! 14w today and happy that I did not have any phone calls from hospital in the last 3 days which means we are low risk for downs. Smile
I feel a tougher area above the pubis and I suppose that's where my tiny peep is. I can't wait to feel him/her kicking! With ds I felt him at 16 weeks so not long now.

ComeLuckyApril · 29/10/2015 16:22

Sure is! I think it feels as though I've suddenly got some new impressive stomach muscles, even though I know it's baby. I really like it :)

Got to hear the heartbeat at 16 week midwife appointment today - glad I knew to ask for it as she didn't offer (I think they only offer if you ask). It was great to hear.

Oopsnumber3 · 29/10/2015 16:32

I'm going ELCS after two horrendous, traumatic labours and births. The second ended in EMCS which the best it of the whole thing so I've no worries about what an ELCS will be like. I'm just glad I don't have to face a labour again (NB for the first timers, not all labours are the same I've just been unlucky twice Smile)

PallasCat · 29/10/2015 18:09

having to 'man spread' if I'm sitting down and want to lean forward Woah yes, Rinnyx! Was doing an activity on the floor with my class today, mainly concentrating on "how on earth will I reach that?!" rather than, y'know, actually teaching...

Welcome to new folks!

Birth plan - hoping to deliver at a local midwife-run unit. So far no concerns have been raised that would prevent this, but I'm asthmatic so if my symptoms get bad I may have to have a hospital delivery. The MW unit is fantastic by all accounts, and very calm and peaceful which is really important to me. They also offer the option of a water birth, which really appeals (although I'm not sure how far they let you progress with this, but even if it's only pain release pre-delivery, that would be better than not at all).

MazzleDazzle · 29/10/2015 20:37

Welcome newbies! Congratulations!

I'm 16+6. At appt today the consultant recommended a planned section and pencilled in April 1st. After 2 traumatic deliveries, both by emcs, I thought I'd be relieved, but I'm dreading it a bit.

Off to bed for an early night. I have so much paperwork to do for tomorrow, but I'm exhausted!

helen how did your scan go on Wed?

helensburgh · 29/10/2015 21:10

Hi I posted a few days ago about possibly .having seen diaphragmatic hernia on 12 wek scan. Well had another scan yesterday and all is fine.
Never be so relieved. Got date for 20 week scan too. Hurrah

kittenkatzen · 29/10/2015 22:38

pallas I spent the majority of my last labour in a midwife led unit and I really thought it was lovely, thoroughly recommend it as an option! So peaceful and calm and just none of the background tension of a hospital. I'm still disappointed now that I didn't get to actually give birth there.

RalucaMorena · 29/10/2015 23:24

The good news is that I have low risk of Downs 1/8308. The not so good news is that I had to rush to the toilet with pain although only once. Now, considering that this is my rainbow baby, I am scared to death that the little pip is harmed in any way. That tough area in my tummy is not so tough after I went to the loo (I was previously constipated tmi but maybe that's why I felt that area... erm . .. the constipation was pushing the uterus out???) So now I am officially panicking! Any ideas? ??

ComeLuckyApril · 30/10/2015 08:49

Constipation can be very painful! The first time I got really constipated, a few years ago, I was writhing with agony on the floor and genuinely thought I had somehow got accidentally pregnant and gone into labour or something. It feels very much the same as severe period cramps to me. But constipation won't hurt the baby, don't worry - it can feel scary if you're not used to it and have it badly, though.

Want2bSupermum · 30/10/2015 13:46

It won't hurt the baby but it isn't good. I heard about others having lots of issues and drink a pint of warm lemon water first thing in the morning when pregnant and for 3 months after delivery. I've never had a problem. During the day I drink warm water, about 2L a day when pregnant.

Want2bSupermum · 30/10/2015 13:46

Sorry 3L! Think 6 bottles of water.

Oopsnumber3 · 30/10/2015 16:22

helen! That's such great news! Hurrah for the nano Helen being ok Grin

FatimaLovesBread · 30/10/2015 19:40

Has any one had the flu jab and had a reaction? I had mine yesterday and it was tender last night like last time, today though it has got swollen and red and is really warm. Sure it's nothing to worry about but never had a reaction before.

PallasCat · 30/10/2015 20:09

Fatima don't worry, that sounds like a low-level reaction to me. I had mine over a week ago, and it is still itchy, slightly red and a little hard and raised, and warm until yesterday. This is way less of a reaction than I have had with any previous flu jab (I get them every year, being an asthmatic teacher!). They are usually so sore that I can't sleep on that side for a week, and I develop a large swollen and red patch, plus stiffness all up my arm and into my neck. Of course if you're concerned speak to MW, but from what you've said, your reaction sounds within a range that isn't of concern.

Helen great news! So glad for you.

FatimaLovesBread · 30/10/2015 20:16

Thanks pallas when I had it before it was just a bit of an ache. But this times sounds more like one of your previous reactions. Big and red and v sore and stuff arm. Glad it's within the realms of normal Smile

I think I'll be sleeping on my right hand side again tonight Grin

Oopsnumber3 · 30/10/2015 21:02

Fatima, have you tried arnica gel on it? It can help take the heat and ouch out of it. I always put it on my babies post jabs too.

PurplePoppy17 · 30/10/2015 22:59

Hi all, I'm 16+2 Smile Just wondering if anyone has felt there little one move around yet? there has been a few times where I've thought I've felt it bit never sure if it's definitely baby or not?

MazzleDazzle · 31/10/2015 08:55

So pleased for you helen! What a relief.

My flu jab is the same Fatima. I got mine on Wed and it's still sore.

I'm 17 + 1 and can't feel any movement. Thought I could feel a sort of swooshing around a few weeks ago, and was so sure it was the baby, but maybe it was something else!

Rinnyx · 31/10/2015 09:34

PallasCat I hear you!
I'm back to work Monday and thinking it's going to be interesting getting up and down off the crazy small Yr1 chairs and I was only 18 weeks yesterday Hmm

I went on another hunt for trousers for work yesterday and can't believe everywhere (other than h&m) only sell their maternity range online, really? Angry

RalucaMorena · 31/10/2015 12:18

Hi all.
I just got on the scale and I didn't put on any weight. It is true that I still have nausea some days but still... no weight gain at 14 weeks. And buba was fine a week ago and they even brought forward my edd by 4 days.

ComeLuckyApril · 31/10/2015 15:04

I don't think I've put any weight on either overall. I lost a bit initially with not eating due to nausea, but back at pre-pregnancy weight last time I checked at 16 weeks. People put it on at different times.

I feel like if I can't shop in person for maternity stuff, I might as well buy it all cheap on ebay.

I think I'm feeling movement sometimes but it's hard to be sure that's what it is, early days yet though :)
