Welcome all the newbies!

So glad it's the weekend. I've been exhausted all week. However, we're visiting my brother and his 2 DDs for the weekend so can't imagine it being a relaxing one. Finally on the one week countdown to my scan now!

Rinnyx · 03/10/2015 07:24

Wow what things to say to you Mazzle Shock
I've asked to work til Easter hols start tho person who's sorting out risk assessments etc thinks it might be cutting it a bit close.
Going to talk leaving & return dates after 20 weeks scan.

I was intending a sleep in today seeing as I've been ill (but still working) but stupid body has had me up since 5:45AM Angry
Going to head in the city later to get some free goodie bags (Emma's diary) that I filled in forms online for.
I found the bounty pack rather rubbish this time round and not impressed all the vouchers where for items in the U.S.

ComeLuckyApril · 03/10/2015 08:56

Scan went well, though I didn't get to see much as they made me lie flat and only my partner could see the screen most of the time! But apparently the baby did do wriggling when I was doing all of that. They moved me back to my original dates, but it looks like the NHS measurements are different from this chart www.babycentre.co.uk/a1004000/average-fetal-length-and-weight-chart which I had been using.

Anyone else really really achy around 12-13 weeks? I think it must be the uterus growing, it's achy all around there, and I mostly notice it when I'm lying down to try to sleep.

MazzleDazzle · 03/10/2015 19:55

Is anyone else breathless? Feels like a weight on my chest and I'm out of breath when I climb the stairs!

If I'm like this now, goodness knows what it'll be like in the end. Can't remember having this in my last two pregnancies and definitely not this early on.

CarolPeletier · 03/10/2015 21:27

I've felt a bit breathless when walking, thought I was maybe just unfit :-)

On, reassure me! I have used the Doppler twice and cannot find a heartbeat. I was able to with both my previous pregnancies by this stage. I am trying not to panic, its still two weeks til my scan....

thundernlightning · 03/10/2015 23:45

ComeLuckyApril Me too. I'm 13+5 and was actually getting a bit anxious about the pains on Thursday, but they've settled down now.

Carol I've heard that sometimes the way they're lying can make it hard to hear the heartbeat. Here's hoping you hear it soon!

Want2bSupermum · 04/10/2015 00:30

I've been breathless too. It's my third pregnancy and I didn't have it with either of my first two. Obn put me on iron as said its most likely anemia and she turned out to be right. Blood test showed I was very low.

CarolPeletier · 04/10/2015 07:56

Spent a while last night with the Doppler and think I found it for about 10 seconds. Based on the rate it would be somewhere between 160-170 beats per minute so must have been baby - as soon as I tried to turn sound up I lost it and wasn't able to find it again. Been feeling much better since.

Rinnyx · 04/10/2015 09:29

Have very painful aches, stabbing pains this morning, may be TMI but don't think it's down to wind (I get that a lot first thing)
I wonder if baby and womb are having a big growth spurt of sorts, either way very ouchy!

SaltySeaBird · 04/10/2015 10:40

Hi all

Only checking in periodically at the moment as I'm getting very paranoid about things going wrong. I'm 14+2 now and all was fine at the 12 week scan but of course you can always find horror stories if you look on Google ... I also feel a bit disconnected from this pregnancy and I know it sounds silly but I think it's because there are no names we want to use. At 38 you think I'd know better, but I can't picture this baby at all as I can't imagine a child with no name! We went through the top 500 names in the UK for last year this morning and between us discounted them all. DD wants to call it Rapunzal which obviously won't make the shortlist!

Yes to the feeling out of breath. I'm still trying to run but really struggling now. My clothes are feeling really tight but I don't want to get my maternity stuff out until the 20 week scan.

thundernlightning · 04/10/2015 16:58

Me too with the shortness of breath. I usually walk faster than anybody else on the sidewalk, but in the last two weeks I haven't been able to keep up with myself IYSWIM. Now I just sort of… amble. Also, stairs? Ugh. Total nightmare.

CarrotVan · 04/10/2015 20:24

I'm spotting. I've spoken to the EPU and I can't go in until the chicken pox scabs over. I'm not feeling positive as no symptoms, no weight gain, not showing.

I probably won't come back here if I miscarry again. Don't think I could handle it so if I don't come back that's why.

CarolPeletier · 04/10/2015 20:29

Ah CarrotVan what a difficult time for you. I hope everything is OK, how long since the chicken pox broke out? Spotting doesn't necessarily mean miscarriage so try and stay calm until you can get to the epu.

5madthings · 04/10/2015 20:29

carrot how many weeks are you now? I have had two lots of spotting this preg and scan showed everything was fine. I shall be keeping everything crossed for you and I hope the chickenpox scabs over ASAP. I used aqueous cream with calamine lotion in it, from the chemist with my kids. Xxxx

Want2bSupermum · 04/10/2015 22:46

carrot and they couldn't accomodate you in A&E? While you are contagious they could and should accomodate you.

pingoose · 04/10/2015 23:52

carrot will be thinking of you over the next few days. Fingers crossed it's nothing Flowers

thundernlightning · 05/10/2015 02:51

Oh Carrot, you poor thing. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Rinnyx · 05/10/2015 07:46

Everything crossed for you xx

Cherrypie5 · 05/10/2015 12:29

Thinking of you carrot fingers crossed everything is ok and it's just one of those things xx

ashboo76 · 05/10/2015 13:51

Sorry your having such a bad time carrot a thinking of you xx

waxweasel · 05/10/2015 15:10

Oh carrot how awful, I'm so so sorry. I have everything crossed that you'll be able to get checked soon and it'll be positive news. Your DS has had the pox for a while now hasn't he, so you can't be far off the scabbing stage? Flowers

MsGlitterJunkie · 05/10/2015 15:18

Hugs to you carrot let's hope it's just a bout of mystery spotting that seems so common in these early weeks. Fingers and toes crossed you can get in to be seen soon to put your mind at ease.

CarrotVan · 05/10/2015 16:10

It's now considerably more than spotting. I'm being assessed tomorrow but I think it's pretty clear.

Good luck everyone.

waxweasel · 05/10/2015 16:43

I'm so sorry - you poor, poor thing. I hope you're ok x

Want2bSupermum · 05/10/2015 16:59

I'm so sorry carrot. Many hugs and Flowers
