Don't know yet wax I expect so as they'll class me as high risk now I think

Want2bSupermum · 01/10/2015 11:00

carrot that is terrible news. Can't remember if you have kids already but here in the us they give all the kids a chicken pox vaccine. DS was 3 months short of getting it and my obn told me to speak to his doctor about both of my kids. I took both in last week for the flu shot and DS got the chicken pox vaccine.

I know it's too late now but def consider the flu vaccine for any kids. I'm going to get my flu shot at my next obn appointment. If your kids haven't had chicken pox I would also get them vaccinated because if they get it and pass it on to the baby in the first couple of months it's very serious.

Not very good at catching up now we have facebook too! Had my NT scan yesterday and both very low risk (1 in 50,000 and 1 in 48700) now 13+5 - quite round from pelvis to ribs already - but second and third babies - with DS I didn't clearly show til about 6 months either. Today I think I feel little movements but alot higher up than I thought they would be so unsure whether it is babies or not.

CantWin I was trying to work out one of my babies nubs – only got one clear shot of one twin – but very confusing – laying flatish which is meant to mean girl but the shape (bulbous end) is meant to mean boy.

I have 1 DS and have never imagined having girls – so call both babies he at the moment – time will tell I guess!

crumbly I know a lovely Margot – so I think it is lovely. We have no idea on names – My DS name starts with a “L” and I always imagined having a second “L” name with baby two but think it is taking it a bit far to have 3 “L”’s so have no idea now. And we aren’t good at agreeing either.

Ample I have lots of very vivid dreams – not all very nice either!

Dragon Welcome and congrats on your twins and successful IVF – I am also expecting twins! Did you have 2 eggs transferred or have they split early on? Push to get your scan date – mine had to be done at my hospital then referral to another hospital for twin NT scan – you want to make sure you get it in time! Enjoy your scan this afternoon.

daisy sorry you have ben bleeding but glad the hospital are keeping an eye with regular scans – hope it stops soon so you can worry less!

Carrot so sorry about the chicken pox – hope the Drs act swiftly, sending you hugs x

Mummyofonesofar · 01/10/2015 12:36

wax I don't have a pm from you - do you want to check you sent it to the right person? Use the message poster button on this post

CarrotVan · 01/10/2015 13:53

The CP vaccine isn't available routinely although you can get it privately (about £400). It's fairly unusual to have no immunity as an adult - 90% of people have immunity by the time they are 15. At least the boy has now had it and won't get it again

The flu jab is standard for expectant mothers and the under 5s so the boy and I will both get it in a couple of weeks

CarrotVan · 01/10/2015 14:08

Finally heard back from the GP - 5 day course of anti viral drugs and an extra scan in 5 weeks on the instructions of the on call obstetric consultant

So pleased you had a good scan mummyofone

waxweasel · 01/10/2015 14:11

How odd mummyof1 - I've messaged you again :)

Wow £400 is insane for the CP jab! I got DD done here (SE London) and it was £65 a jab, 2 jabs, so £130 total. I thought that was bad enough for a vaccination that is routine in most other countries. A couple of my friends also got it as they're Australian and their kids wouldnt be able to attend school without it if they ever moved back. But I dont know many other people who've done it, the majority don't. You've just been really really unlucky Carrot

waxweasel · 01/10/2015 14:12

Oh cross post - good news you don't have long to wait for the next scan

CarrotVan · 01/10/2015 14:16

I've got my routine scan two weeks from today anyway so will have them at 13, 16 and 20 weeks now

I must look into the CP vaccine again. I looked at it when DS was small but maybe prices have come down

FussyHendricks · 01/10/2015 14:28

Hello and welcome to all the new faces!

Bloody hell indeed Carrot, that is rotten luck! FX the antivirals do the job.

Sympathy for all those still feeling rubbish. I've picked up a bug and feel like death warmed up today. Honey and lemon just isn't cutting it!

I finally got my screening results through after 2 weeks of waiting and have been given a low risk.

Has anyone received their maternity exemption card yet? The doctor sent off my form 10 days ago so I'm wondering when to start chasing...

Mummyofonesofar · 01/10/2015 15:14

CarrotV sorry to say this but your DS may get it again – it is unlikely he will but it is possible – I had it 3 times as a little’un. I didn’t even know you could get a vacc for CP – that would have saved my DS from a week of awful scratchy horribleness. Glad you’ve got a plan from the GPs – an extra scan is always nice Grin

Fussy yay for low risk Smile I got my mat exemption about 1-2 weeks after sending it off.

wax I have your second message Smile

Sezramum · 01/10/2015 16:06

Poor you Carrott I really hope the antiviral work and everything is ok. I am glad you have plenty of scans to keep an eye on everything.

Pleased you got low risk results Fussy and mummy Smile. I will get mine a week on Monday. It seems forever away!

My Mat card came through about two weeks after my booking in appointment.

Dragonfly2 · 01/10/2015 16:43

Had my scan today ladies and both babies were there and wiggling about. Had a little cry I was so relieved. After that I chased up the hospital for my 12 week scan and although the letter hasn't arrived I'm on their system for oct 13th so I'll be 13 weeks. I will probably still obsess and worry about every little thing but at least I don't have long before I get to check in on them again. Smile

kungfupannda · 01/10/2015 16:49

I've been off the thread for a while as I've been feeling grim.

I've just had my Harmony test results back and all good. They've also confirmed that this is boy number 3, as expected!

My due date has been changed to 11th April.

CarrotVan · 01/10/2015 17:16

Apparently I can expect additional consultant appointments and some additional later scans too. I must ask for my exemption form.

PallasCat · 01/10/2015 17:27

Finally have an appointment for my scan! 19th Oct, so I'll be 13 weeks 2 days. Seems like a very long time away still.

Welcome Daisy! Sorry to hear you've been having such a rough time of it so far, but sounds like good support from EPAU to get you through.

CarrotVan how awful love. You poor thing. Thinking of you. xxx

CarolPeletier · 01/10/2015 17:35

Hello Ladies, can I join you please?! Due end of April, No. 3.

Been feeling sick on and off, already look huge! Pretty anxious - you would think third time round I would take it all in my stride, but no!

Hoping to use Doppler tonight for first time, fingers crossed this helps with the anxiety rather than increase it.

Oh, and am so so tired. Aside to pregnancy exhaustion I have a poorly toddler who has kept me up the last four nights!

Anyway, that's me. Pleased to meet y'all and hopefully share our crazy pregnancy journey together :-)

thundernlightning · 02/10/2015 05:11

Ooh, me too, CarolP

Hello everyone! I'm late to the party but can I join too? Due April 3rd and this is my first and I'm 34. My DH is midway through his degree. Agh!

In my first trimester I got a new job (yay!) and had a terrible time getting a primary care provider (boo!) and was generally busy. But now life is settling, food is lovely once more, and I feel like I have two braincells again. At last!

CantWin · 02/10/2015 13:56

PallasCat · 02/10/2015 17:13

Thank goodness it's the weekend! I have nothing planned, and plan on doing nothing. Ahhhhh.... and breathe.

Welcome thunder and carol!

MazzleDazzle · 02/10/2015 19:37

Welcome newbies! Congratulations.

Told my work colleagues and boss today. It was okay all things considering. I'm a teacher so they're relived I can work until the end of the seniors' course, though one colleague said "You'll have to send your DH for the snip!" and my boss asked "Was it deliberate?" Hmm.
