Oh Rinnyx that's such a shame - any hope she will come round a bit?
Congrats to all those with scans it's all becoming very real.
I don't want to to speak to soon but think nausea vomiting might finally be tailing off - which will be a huge relief.
With dd they did a NT without consent it was out of range - there was a lot of pressure on us to go for further testing etc it ruined the whole pregnancy. This time the midwife has written 3 times in capitals on the scan form NO NT so hopefully a more peaceful pregnancy this time round.
Good weekend to all.

FussyHendricks · 18/09/2015 20:04

Oh Rinnyx that must have been a tough conversation. Regardless of her feelings towards your DP, it's still her grandchild your carrying! Maybe she'll come round in time?

FussyHendricks · 18/09/2015 20:07

Woundbobbin i think my sickness is beginning to ease too. 12+5 today & I've felt so much better that last few mornings. I'm still being sick in the evening but even a small amount of respite from the nausea is welcome! Hope you continue to feel better!

CarrotVan · 18/09/2015 20:51

FX she comes round rinny. Even if she doesn't like your partner she could still support you

AmpleRaspberries · 18/09/2015 21:08

Not having a good day today. Been sick non stop to the point where we have actually cancelled our weekend away. DH is being lovely and doing everything, even though I can tell he is shattered. I kept dd off nursery today as we were supposed to be going after lunch, poor thing has been like a caged animal all day. Terrible twos and me feeling rubbish have not made for a patient mummy today.

Looking forward to the sickness finishing and starting to enjoy being pregnant (and stopping moaning)

pingoose · 18/09/2015 21:35

Ugh rinny that sucks. Do you think she might come around one she's had time to think about it?
I'm nervous about telling my mum, as I'm halfway through my masters and she's always going on about waiting. I'm 29 and married for gods sake, I shouldn't be nervous!

ample that sounds awful! Bet you're thankful for a supportive DH. Hope you're feeling better soon.

MazzleDazzle · 18/09/2015 21:37

Sorry you're feeling so shit Ample. What a rotten time of it you've having!

Sorry also for Rinnyx. I know exactly how you're feeling as my mum never said congratulations for either of my first two pregnancies. I'm truly dreading telling her. She will be even more negative than before since it's my third and in her mind, 'unnecessary'. I'm trying to focus instead on how my friends will react as I know they will be over the moon. Also, I'm going to send her a message, which will hopefully make it a bit easier. Regardless of whether your mum comes round or not, it's wonderful news Rinnyx, so try not to let her spoil it!

Want2bSupermum · 19/09/2015 04:57

About to drop off asleep. Threw up 4 times this morning. Felt rotten. Sofa surfed for 2 hours and now just researched apple picking. Determined to get up and go. Found a place that does wine tasting too. It is $5 for wine tasting and $25 for unlimited apple picking this weekend. Hoping to have 2 kids who sleep tomorrow night.

DH came home with a McDonalds ice cream for me. I ate two mouthfuls and couldn't eat anymore. So not like me but right now all I want to eat is veggie or tomato soup.

Londonlady2015 · 19/09/2015 07:56

Hi everyone

Thanks for kind wishes and reassurance with blood tests etc. Always seems to be yet another thing to look for but I guess that's what it's going to be like!

Rinny I'm sorry you had that reaction esp from your mum. I find so far that people, whether initially excited or otherwise, are just genuinely shocked so hopefully she's just digesting the news. Not condoning it or anything but hopefully she'll become more enthused (and at least support you)

To those with sickness i feel your pain. Still having to manage symptoms by eating little and often but let me tell you that at 12w 4 I feel miles better than 3 weeks ago. (Thank GOD!)

Rinnyx · 19/09/2015 08:22

Thank you for the support and kind words ladies but I know she won't.
She didn't even show support when I MC.
She's never really showed much interest in DS tho has tried to build a wedge between DD and I cause I fell with her when she was trying to get pregnant and even says she'd be happy for me to go and her bring DD up as her own (I was just 19 when I fell with DD)
DD has said a few harse words to me last night about my mums attitude and I think she is getting sick of her coldness towards me, DP, etc.

Just gonna try carry on with only DPs families support as they seem happy and excited.

CarrotVan · 19/09/2015 08:28

rinny you don't have to have a relationship with her if she's horrible to you. Maybe distance yourself for the next year

AmpleRaspberries · 19/09/2015 08:32

Oh rinny how horrible for you. I agree with carrot distance yourself from your mum and surround yourself with those who are happy for you.

Rinnyx · 19/09/2015 08:42

Thank you Carrot and Ample
I gonna try push it to the back of my mind as its DDs 13th tomorrow so gonna let her pick a gift today and we are going to check out the new mothercare store too xx

MazzleDazzle · 19/09/2015 09:00

Morning all! Any plans for this weekend ladies?

That's rough Want2bsupermum. How far along are you now? I'm hoping after 12 weeks that we all star to feel a lot better!

A week today until my scan!

I wouldn't be surprised if there's 2 in there. I feel so bloated and chunky! Hopefully the nausea will settle down and I can go back to eating healthily rather than costantly nibbling on biscuits and toast!

I have to go into the city today to return some clothes. I'm fairly rural, so it's an hour and a half each way! I only need go to one shop. I might try to grab a couple of pairs of maternity trousers/jeans while I'm there. My usual skinnies won't even go past my calves Blush.

Thankfully my childminder offered to take the kids, so at least I won't have them in tow. The eldest gets terribly travel sick and as she's not old enough to aim in one direction it's rather explosive!

CarrotVan · 19/09/2015 11:42

We're lying low this weekend as the boy has chicken pox

MsGlitterJunkie · 19/09/2015 12:35

Afternoon ladies. Huge congratulations on all the scans over the past few days, so exciting I bet it all feels very real now! My scan is on Thursday, 5 more sleeps.......

Sorry to those who are feeling so rough with ms I'm 11+6 today and thought I'd escaped the last of the nausea, ha! I had to go back to bed after getting up this morning dry retching for an hour, nice!

I keep getting sharp jabbing pelvic pain on and off, sometimes in my back sometimes in my leg, always on the right hand side......not sure if it's something to worry about or not??

Lovely day here in London so I'm going out to get some much needed vitamin D!

CarrotVan · 19/09/2015 12:55

If it carries on check out SPD or pelvic girdle pain. It can be treated

waxweasel · 19/09/2015 14:08

Hello everyone, and congratulations to all those who have shared lovely scan photos! Mine is on Monday, but I'll only be 11+2 (which idiot receptionist refuses to accept) so reckon I'll have to go back a week later too for the nuchal test.

I'm so sorry about your mum being so unsupportive Rinnyx, she sounds awful. Honestly, in your position I'm not sure I'd stay in contact - she sounds poisonous.

I've been lying low as we're having problems with DD - basically a recurrent itchy bottom that has kept her awake all night every night since last Friday, and no dr can seem to fix. Am on my knees! The record was her waking up at 11.30pm, and not sleeping again! Last night she was up from 2ish but finally conked out again naked on a changing mat on the kitchen floor, covered with towels. Honestly, we're all a total mess.

Anyway, she is out with DM and DF today at a funfair so I have the day off - have gone out shopping and am considering going to mamas and papas to get some bits for the baby, even though I know I probably shouldn't...but it would cheer me up!

waxweasel · 19/09/2015 14:09

MsGlitterJunkie, is the pain worse in bed at night? That's how my SPD started. If I were you I'd get yourself to an osteo or physio to get it checked out. The earlier you catch it the better.

DizzyMerry · 19/09/2015 17:42

Congratulations on all the scans. Hope people can now start to relax and enjoy their pregnancies. My scan is on Wednesday and I'm getting incredibly anxious. It will feel real once that's done.

I thought I'd seen the last of the nausea but had a tiny bout of it again today. Sorry to those still suffering but hopefully the symptoms will start to ease off soon.

Glittery it sounds like SPD. I had it with DD but thankfully it disappeared on it's own quite quickly. I got a jabbing pain in my buttock earlier but hoping it doesn't start up again. Get it checked out if it continues.

Rhinny sorry your mum is being unsupportive and selfish. She should be able to put her feelings aside and be a support to you. If she carries on I would be inclined to reduce contact as you don't need her negativity impacting on you Flowers

pingoose · 19/09/2015 21:30

It's horrible weather where we are, so spending the weekend inside, watching the rugby. Although may go to look at some houses tomorrow, as we're getting ready to buy our first house.

wax my scan isn't for 3 weeks, but I'll also be 11+2. If they have to redo your one, I may try get a new appointment!

I got a jabbing pain in my tail bone the other day, felt like a pinched nerve. Is that what SPD feels like?

Oopsnumber3 · 19/09/2015 21:45

waxweasel have you treated your DD for worms and washed all he bedding etc? Worms are much more active at night and that might be why it's driving her nuts. You might not be able to see them either. Treatment is an over the counter job at the pharmacist. Might be worth a go even if Dr didn't think so.

waxweasel · 19/09/2015 21:47

Yeah, we've treated for worms but no improvement...I'm going to keep going with the next dose though as I think that's what it is. Drs have so far prescribed for thrush, then eczema, and now want a urine sample to check for UTIs. I'm convinced it's worms, as it really is only at night, but there are literally no other symptoms besides the itching.

Dexlie0806 · 19/09/2015 22:43

Aw rinny I hope ya ok. It's sad that she isn't happy for u but as u say u have do many other people around u. Hope she comes round.

Hope your daughter is ok wax and u have a better night tonight.

So we were waiting till our 12 week scan (which is tues) to tell our 2ds about the pregnancy. They r 7 and 3. Anyway tonight just felt like the perfect time to do it so we told them. They r both over the moon and their reactions have made our week. They r gonna make amazing big brothers. Just need everything to go well on tues now. Grin

MsGlitterJunkie · 19/09/2015 23:14

Thanks for the advice carrot, wax & merry I haven't heard of SPD before, will see if it continues this week then get myself referred to a physio if necessary.

Lovely to hear your boys were so delighted by the news dexlie I bet their excitement is off the scale!

Looks like next week is going to be scantastic, so many of us hitting that milestone at the same time Smile
