Me! We found out last time (at DP's request) so I'm putting my foot down for a surprise this time. Can't say I won't be tempted though...!

Feefee45 · 13/09/2015 17:42

Me definitely though will be totally tempted and can't promise I won't change my mind though. I think it would be lovely if dh tells me rather than the midwife though.

CarrotVan · 13/09/2015 18:10

poco I took DS on Friday and it was fine. I had DH with me as well but the EPU have always been fine with DS being there for assessment and scan

5madthings · 13/09/2015 19:24

We will be team yellow. We didn't find out for first three madthings, then did for four, we weren't going to for five but the sonograoher said she had a really clear view so did we want to know.. And having done it both ways I much prefer a surprise as does dh.

And yes the madthings were healthy weights, dh is 6ft and has a huge head so I blame him, the madthings also all have big heads, ds4's was off the top of the chart.

Eating was the cure today, just had delicious beef bournignog made by dh for dinner, he is now bathing little ones and getting them to bed whilst I rest.. :)

Rinnyx · 13/09/2015 19:59

I would like a surprise but I think DP wants to know so we know when we move into new house to put DS or DD is the larger of the 2 children's bedrooms

MsGlitterJunkie · 13/09/2015 20:19

Team yellow over here too, we want it to be a complete surprise although slightly worried about finding neutral clothes, I guess white, grey and yellow are the way to go!

beanybean · 13/09/2015 20:25

Hello! Room for a newbie? I'm due 4 April with my second after IVF (natural first time). Have my scan a week tomorrow but have had a couple already because of the IVF.

Feefee45 · 13/09/2015 20:53

Hi beany welcome and congratulations on your IVF success.

CarrotVan · 13/09/2015 21:25

Babies don't care what colours they wear - get whatever stuff you like

Welcome beany

pingoose · 13/09/2015 21:45

Welcome beany!

I found out at my booking appointment that I'm O-, and since DH is A+ I'll most likely need an anti-d injection - is this the rhesus thing? I was being bombarded with info so didn't think to ask!

We're not sure about finding out the sex - I mainly don't want to just to annoy MiL. I love her, but she goes CRAZY with the pink stuff for her other 3 granddaughters, and we often butt heads on it. But I kind of do want to know!

FussyHendricks · 13/09/2015 21:52

Team yellow here too... for the moment at least Wink

DD was 8lb6 at 39 weeks! Dread to think what she would have been if I'd gone to 42w! Shock DH and I are both 6ft+ so our DC were never going to be small!

FussyHendricks · 13/09/2015 21:55

Find out but don't tell anyone Pingoose?

That's what my DB and SIL are doing and it's driving my poor DM mad! She's on a mission to get them to cave in and tell by Christmas!

beanybean · 13/09/2015 22:04

There is always the chance they'll get the sec wrong anyway! Has happened to a couple of people I know.

Rinnyx · 14/09/2015 07:13

Seeing the midwife in 2 hours...MIL is taking DS to school for me and I've got to try get to work on my own, only problem is if I take buses I won't get in til about 12 Hmm and I dread to think what a taxi will cost.
Enjoying still being in bed tho as id be on the first bus to work by now Grin tho back to the 6am start tomorrow

Feefee45 · 14/09/2015 07:39

Rinnyx good luck for today's appointment. Enjoy your long lie while you can. I am in work already and have to sit it out till 1 before I can leave for my scan.

Londonlady2015 · 14/09/2015 07:50

Morning everyone,

Good luck fee with scan, and rinny midwife, and anyone else who has appts today.
On/off weekend so feel exhausted this morning. Had to get off bus to be sick in street and was bent over...someone in their car stopped to see if I was ok. I was so touched I nearly cried. Honestly...

12 week scan this Friday afternoon. Haven't had one yet so quite nervous. Hoping the week goes quickly

Rinnyx · 14/09/2015 08:03

Thank you Feefee and good luck today.
Thank you also London
It's good job I'm going today as I haven't had any MS but have just been sick (nothing to sick up) and it was mostly bright red blood Confused

Feefee45 · 14/09/2015 08:27

Thanks Rinnyx. That doesn't sound too good hope all goes well with the MW and it's nothing to worry about. X

ashboo76 · 14/09/2015 08:59

I'm team yellow it's my first and probably only so want the suprise and thankfully DH does too.

Pingoose I'm A- and I also need the anti d but only if I bleed, have a knock to the bump and at birth if the baby is positive blood (my DH is A+) it's absolutely nothing to worry about I've always known my blood group (previous op it was necessary) and my mum was A- too so she always told me about it(she was a nurse) your first baby is in not in danger but after giving birth if the baby is + there is a chance they leave some cells behind (very normal) but if you have a second baby and they are - they could attack the baby and cause miscarriage. I have never ever heard this happen as this is why they invented anti D (a very long time ago) so don't worry and do ask your midwife xxx

MrWriter · 14/09/2015 10:26

I'm team yellow as my local hospital doesn't tell anyone. Apparently someone sued them for getting it wrong!

Cherrypie5 · 14/09/2015 10:33

I want to find out the sex as its my first and I'm too impatient and curious to wait a whole 9 to find out. However, dp wants to be team yellow! So we shall see, have another 3 months to decide before we can find out anyway.

Had my booking in with the midwife this morning, all went well except she couldn't get any blood out of me (typical for me!) so I have to go to the hospital for a phlebotomist to stab me with a few needles too.

Now just have to wait for the date for my 12 week scan date, I really cannot wait to be out of the first trimester.

Rinnyx · 14/09/2015 10:49

Saw the midwife, lots of questions, lots of blood taken, heard the heartbeat again and she's going to try push for a scan before this weeks out.
Hopefully they will call me after work today to book it.

Feefee45 · 14/09/2015 10:59

Excellent news Rinnyx. I've been clock watching all morning plus I'm at a stupid training event type thing.

Thanks London

Mummyofonesofar · 14/09/2015 12:21

Pallas, Rinny & cherry glad booking in went well! Rinny did they listen to yours already?! I didn??t think they would even try until 16weeks. Good luck Feefee for your scan!

Rinnyx I agree with H&M being below par, I got a few things there but it was much better 8 years ago when pg with DS.

14-16 hour days sounds very unreasonable for a pregnant woman Want2b I would talk to someone about that.

Crumbly yay for cute blob picture!

poco all the info I have seen for scans said as long as they aren??t disturbing the scan they can attend. Is there someone you can take with you who can watch him while you get scanned? My DP isn??t coming to my next scan either (because I want him at the nuchal scan I am having a few days later) so am taking a friend but I am lucky that DS is in school.

5madthings I am glad you felt better after a meal yesterday

Welcome beany congratulations! You can add yourself to the stats list here

DS was 7lb 9 at 42+2 so a bit worried about small twins and I think I have said on here already, we will be finding out what they are!

London glad someone was nice to you, I was always touched when I had ms in public, it is gross but so lovely for people to check you??re ok. I once was sick by a building site and had loads of builders run over with a chair, tissues (I was crying like a mad woman) and a cup of tea for me.

CarrotVan · 14/09/2015 12:28

Mummy I heard the heartbeat at my scan on Friday at 8+4 (NHS reassurance scan)
