I am so in love with my baby already and can't wait to meet him, just needed to share that.
Watched a couple of the BBC episodes of countdown to life tonight. There was a baby with a hair lip who was laughing and so happy and it made me cry, even DH thought he was adorable. Don't watch it if you are a worrier as it is basically a catalogue of all the things that can go wrong with your baby!
It did have some really interesting stuff though, they had genetically identical mice and implanted the embryos into different mothers and feed the mothers different diets. It caused obesity and changes in fur colour, the 2 mice looked completely different despite their identical genetics. They also had a theory that nutritionally deprived mothers had babies that were geared up to eat nutritionally poor diets their whole lives, so then if they ingest a high calorie diet are more likely to be obese. Therefore we should all eat like pigs throughout our pregnancies
Flu jab, I'm not having. I had it last year and had a very sore arm for a week. Then found out it was completely pointless as they had picked the wrong flu strains. There is a study that showed if you take 100 people and vaccinate then against flu and take 100 people and don't vaccinate them. The vaccinated group only had 1 case less of flu then the unvaccinated group! I just think everyone should make an informed choice and not take everything that medical professionals say as fact. I personally don't want to put anything unnecessary in my body and have gone to great lengths to not expose myself to chemicals as much as possible.
I've found that if I sleep with my knees parallel to each other and therefore my hips are parallel I don't get half as much pain in the night. Also stretching before bed is a must for me now. I do have a huge maternity pillow which takes up half the bed, particularly when I kick it in the middle during the night, it is like a 3rd person in the bed!
