That's meant to say I guess I want to know what I'd plan to do.

Mamama31 · 23/09/2015 15:43

Tiff just out with friends Fri night for a chinese...hoping there is something on the menu that I will want! Then relaxing rest of the wkend. A cottage break will be lovely and I'm sure your bro will be very happy to hear your news :) very exciting!

Odog I guess it is a personal choice really, there are no rights and wrongs it's really your call what you feel is best.

TiffanyAtBreakfast · 23/09/2015 16:37

Thanks, should be good fun! Sounds like a lovely weekend Mama. Have you told many friends or just keeping it quiet for the moment?

Belmo · 23/09/2015 16:46

Odog My dd bfed til she was 3.5 (she's 4 now) - not an intentional thing but just how it worked out and I don't regret it, although I was ready to stop when we did. She remembers it very fondly, and has said on several occasions that she hopes we have another baby so she can have milk again. I wouldn't let her actually bf, but if she asked to I'd let her have some in a cup.

Nearly home/nap time for most I hope! I've phoned in sick (work evenings) and I'm planning to lie on the sofa eating chocolate all night.

ODog · 23/09/2015 16:59

That's lovely that she has fond memories of it belmo. I hope to continue as long as it works out for everyone this time and hopefully until the baby self weans. I stopped at 5months last time under the illusion that ff would help him sleep. And I was pretty desperate for sleep by then. It didn't and I regretted stopping, I'd defo let him have some in a cup I think. But only if he asked.

Belmo · 23/09/2015 17:07

I can totally understand that Odog! Fingers crossed you get a bit more sleep this time! Dd wasn't the worst sleeper ever, by any means, but she woke every 3-4 hours until 2ish. My sil's baby on the other hand has genuinely slept through the night since 4 days old, and was bf for a good 6 months - not fair!

PisforPeter · 23/09/2015 17:35

Still at work here & have been since 7am [yawn]

Greyhorses · 23/09/2015 18:16

Hi everyone, this thread moves too fast to keep up but I hope everyone is feeling good today!

beckle I am coping thank you for asking. I did take the tablets and they have taken the edge off the sickness, it's still there but I have managed to stomach a tiny bit of food for the first time in days Smile I am also wearing sea bands- not sure if these work but I'm willing to try anything!

I am officially 7w tomorrow and have my booking in appointment. Slightly worried about what to expect but I'm sure it will be okay! Still trying to decide whether to pay for an early scan or wait it out until 12w!

MollieRos · 23/09/2015 19:17

Hi everyone, is it ok if I join? I'm due on 29th May I think- I get different numbers according to which website I use but my last period was 28th August and I have fairly short cycles (23 days) so I'm pretty sure I'm 4+3. So extremely early days! DH and I are currently working hard to not get our hopes up too much as it's so early on, whilst I cross everything and hope it sticks!

I'm 33, this is my first pregnancy, and I live in Lancashire.

ODog · 23/09/2015 19:34

Welcome and congrats mollie. The odds are in your favour so try not to worry.

Mamama31 · 23/09/2015 19:39

Tiff I've only told a few close friends, my mum and my sister. They are the people who would support me if anything went wrong so I'm glad they all know.

Welcome Mollie and congrats! I think we are all still being cautiously excited, but hoping for the best and trying to stay positive. I am 33 as well, I thought that was quite young until I looked at the stats and most ladies are in their twenties I think!

MollieRos · 23/09/2015 20:32

I've just had a chance to have a bit of a read through the thread, though lots to keep track of! Congratulations to everyone, and sorry to hear about the people who have been having a tough time.

Mama I was actually feeling quite old already at 33, so I'm glad to have some early 30's company!

It's really interesting (and a bit surreal) reading about people's symptoms- most people on here are a bit further along than me so I keep thinking "that might be me in a couple of weeks!"- seems strange as so far I feel absolutely normal! Cautiously excited is exactly the right description- it all just feels very surreal, and neither my DH or I can quite take it in. We had literally just decided to be less careful and see what happened, and have somehow immediately got pregnant. I was fully expecting it to take months, so it being so fast has completely taken me by surprise!

Mamama31 · 23/09/2015 20:38

Mollie that's great! Your very lucky then! It took us 2 yrs but we had a miscarriage in April so hoping this is it this time!!! I had sore boobs from I found out but the nausea has only kicked in over the last few days! Enjoy feeling normal as it will all change quite soon I'm sure! Unless your a lucky one and get no symptoms.

MollieRos · 23/09/2015 21:04

We're incredibly lucky, and I think that's partly why I'm somehow doubtful that it'll all work out- it seems so implausible somehow. Some of my friends have shared information about their miscarriages in the past, so I'm sort of thinking that it would be too good to be true if it was this easy. But I shall try and just think positive thoughts- there's nothing else I can do at this stage!

Though I've just been having a little panic as I just read that shoulder pain is a symptom of ectopic pregnancy. I have had a sharp pain in my shoulder and neck for the last 2-3 days, though no abdominal pain so hopefully it's just a sore shoulder. Although I know googling medical symptoms is a surefire way to diagnose myself with all kinds of awful things, I need to do a bit of research...

Mama I have my fingers crossed that this is it for you this time- it must have been a very long 2 years for you. I'm sending lots of positive thoughts your way.

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 23/09/2015 21:06

Welcome and congratulations Mollie.
Grey I hope your appt goes ok.
Peter hope your home and resting!

The ward I'm on needed my room so I've been moved to antenatal - very weird!!

Mamama31 · 23/09/2015 21:59

Peter and Icant hope your both doing ok.

Mollie thanks, I'm hoping so too!! Step away from google it's not healthy to self diagnose as google only has the scariest information. If your still worried in a day or 2 contact your GP to discuss. It's hard not to worry in early pregnancy though- the worry on here is rife! But we are very good and calming eachother down, very supportive ladies :)

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 23/09/2015 22:14

I'm doing a lot better thanks mama
:)

Mamama31 · 23/09/2015 22:30

That's great to hear Icant, rest up!

TiffanyAtBreakfast · 24/09/2015 09:14

Welcome to the clan Mollie, congratulations! Smile

How's everyone feeling this morning? I don't feel like eating anything and haven't had any breakfast yet. I've brought a belvita bar to work but the smell of DH having one this morning made me feel rather sick!

A trip to the shop might be in order for a random purchase, in the style of Mama!

Mamama31 · 24/09/2015 09:34

Haha Tiff! Do it! I had Co Co pops this morning, they went down ok. I'm feeling a little bit off though. Also worried I have meetings over lunch time and if I don't eat I feel worse! Need to call to shop for some random snacks to eat on the way to my meeting.

Hope everyone has a nice day! Nearly the weekend...phew!!!! I need some lie in's!

ToffeeAppleMarsBar · 24/09/2015 09:45

Morning all! Welcome Mollie - lovely to have someone new join us on this exciting, nervewracking journey!

I'm the same as you this morning Tiff - STRUGGLING. I fell asleep as soon as I got home last night so didn't even have any dinner and now haven't had breakfast. I know if I just eat something I'll feel better but feeling so nauseous just REALLY puts me off. I don't fancy anything. I've had a ginger biscuit and a few grapes. And lots of water. I look ROUGH today. Bluergh.

Woke up and told DH that I was feeling really sick and his response? "Oh, that's good!" YES. Yes it's good but it's also really not!

ODog · 24/09/2015 11:15

I need some nausea. I get a bit when I wake up but it seems ok after breakfast. The problem is I can't stop eating utter crap. I can see the 3st from last time being exceeded.

Daphnedolittle · 24/09/2015 11:24

My nausea has more or less worn off Sad
Trying to stay positive as I know every woman/pregnancy is different but 8 weeks seems early to be feeling more or less normal. My boobs still hurt so hoping everything is ok in there.
It's quite nice to feel a bit less sick, went to the gym yesterday and was fine, but there's just a nagging feeling that something's not right.

GrouchyKiwi · 24/09/2015 12:25

My nausea comes and goes. Try not to worry about it, Daphne. I know it's hard. Flowers

With both of my previous pregnancies I was worried (in the back of my mind) that the sonographer was going to find nothing there and they'd send me to a psych ward. The first trimester is pretty much all worry.

Hope everyone who has been having a difficult time is doing better. Smile

GrouchyKiwi · 24/09/2015 12:27

Oh, and welcome and congratulations Mollie!
