I have finally got that positive after 6 years of TTC. I checked on a site that calculates due dates for IVF cycles and it gave me the due date of August 3rd. Is there not a thread created yet for August 2007?

Lou

Happy New year Ladies!

feedmenow · 01/01/2007 11:17

Happy New Year to all, especially those who have had a sad last few weeks of 2006.

I slept the New Year in although dp did wake me up at some stage to give me a kiss and say "Happy New Year!"....I think I grunted a reply and went straight back to sleep!

paulaplumpbottom · 01/01/2007 11:20

What did everyone get up to last night?

nicknackpaddywack · 01/01/2007 11:29

Hi all, just found out I'm pregnant with no 2, and think I'm due the last weekend in Aug 2007. Have dd @13 months and feeling SO fortunate to have a chance for another!!

So sorry for those who have had mc. It must be so hard ... my thoughts are with you this New Year's Day ...

loler · 01/01/2007 12:27

Hello,

EDD around 28/8 (I think not got around to looking properly). This is no.3 already have dd 3 and ds 1. I live in Staffordshire. Currently feelings are going from yippee to oh my god what have I done! This time last year I said never never never again!!

Am feeling worried (like someone else said) as had 2 really easy Pg and don't feel like I could be that lucky again. Wasn't going to tell anyone at all until after the scan but told friends at midnight after hard core pushing me to get drunk and stay over. Just want to tell everyone now!

paulaplumpbottom · 01/01/2007 14:54

Congrats NickNack & Loler!

Catalepticdru · 01/01/2007 15:09

HAppy New Year!
I went to visit some friends in Sheffield, started to re flake around 1am but no-one was showing any sign of leaving so hid upstairs with the hostess in her bedroom. Eventually came downstairs after 2pm, could hardly stand, so wobbly, and no-one was going and I started to cry because I wanted to go to sleep but couldn't because we were supposed to be sleeping on a blow up mattress in the dining room! So the host managed to get everyone gone (quite a few were getting ready to go) but I felt guilty
Still everyone had a good time and I got a big fuss made over me.

paulaplumpbottom · 01/01/2007 15:49

Awww sorry you had a rough night.

paulaplumpbottom · 01/01/2007 21:10

welcome tang

Beakyman · 01/01/2007 21:31

Poor you Cata! I had a similar experience at my own 30th birthday party when I was pregnant with ds. My dh still goes on at me about how rude I was chucking everyone out!!!

Am now 8.5 weeks and am beginning to find it hard going. Can't stand the smell of food cooking (particularly meat/ fish) and can't eat hot food either, unless I'm in a restaurant and haven't smelled it cooking. Was exactly same in first preg too.

Also, no such thing as morning sickness for me. I wake up feeling fairly OK and then get more nauseous during the day. If I am sick its in the evening.

And finally, I fall into such a deep sleep during the afternoon, that I spend the rest of the day feeling jet lagged. But I don't think I could cope without a sleep yet!!!!

Anyone else the same?!

paulaplumpbottom · 01/01/2007 22:23

My husband wants to go away in a couple of weeks. He is thinking of the seychelles or Maldives. I don't think I should fly till my second trimester. What do you girls think?

Beakyman · 01/01/2007 22:47

FWIW I flew at 16 weeks when I was preg with ds, no problems at all. Flight was 2 hours. Not sure whether I would go on a long haul flight though, and remember if you go into labour suddenly in another country, it may be quite a while before you are allowed home!

Beakyman · 01/01/2007 22:50

Also, travelling might not be the best for general nausea!

Sorry, have realised the going into labour bit is not relevant if you're thinking of going in a couple of weeks.

Catalepticdru · 02/01/2007 09:10

I've got an appointment to see the Midwife today at 12.30. It'll just be me as hubby is at work, but hopefully I can get booked in for a can he'll go to that.

Hersetta · 02/01/2007 11:46

Hope you don't mind me joining this thread too. We found out on 16th December that I am expecting our first child - so i am now 6 weeks pg. The next day we flew out on holiday to the Dominican Republic which was great as it allowed me to put my feet up and do naff all except relax.

Been to the doctors and EDD is 28th August.

Both hubby and I are very excited and he is being terribly protective at the moment - wonder if that will last!

I am supposed to being going away on business to Chicago in two weeks and now really don't want to go but I can't get out of the trip unless I tell work about the pg which I don't want to do yet. Any suggestions?

This baby is well travelled already. It was conceived on a long weekend trip to New York and has already been to the Dominican Republic and Spain where we went for New Year to visit my Mum. We have a trip booked to the Maldives in May when I will be 24 weeks - hopefully I will still feel up to it as it is heaven on earth.

feedmenow · 02/01/2007 12:16

Hi everyone, and welcome to Tang and Hersetta. Listen to you all talking about your exotic travel plans! Me and dp are talking about a Saturday night away in Lemington Spa at the end of the month and thats about it!
Felt good yesterday and thought I had it sussed with the iron supplements, but not feeling good today and am about to take dd to London to the theatre. Hopefully I'll enjoy it once I'm there.
Have a good day everyone, and catch up later!

paulaplumpbottom · 02/01/2007 12:34

I am having a bit of a bad morning, I feel awful and DH had to go back to work today. Been chasing DD all morning and its making me whoozy. Didn't realise how spoiled I was over the holidays with him being here to help with her.I feel bad to cause she doesn't have her usually energetic Mommy to play with. Hope this gets better soon.

hormonalwreck · 02/01/2007 13:07

Happy New Year to all!

Warm welcome to the new arrivals. It's quite a treat to have a GP with us, I've had conflicting info from mine, it'll be good to hear a second opinion!

On the travel front. I'm a airline pilot and I get grounded for the first and last trimester, I've got the option of flying in the middle trimester. I spoken to the Aviation Medical doctors at the CAA and there is NO evidence that flying carries and increased risk to you or the baby.

In fact DH and I were looking a one last blowout beach holiday to Antigua in Apr (I'll be 25 weeks) I've been canvassing opinion from frineds and started a thread on mn. The general opinion is not to go anywhere too far from civilisation and find out how far the nearest english speaking doctor is and get his/her contact details when you arrive. Apparently travel in the 2nd trimester is better than the others.

On the plane try to get an aisle seat so you wont disturb people when you get up for your upteenth wee. If you're prone to sickness get a seat over the wing as the pitch movements are felt less there. Let the Cabin Crew know you're pg when you board (if it isn't obvious) just in case. Try to get up and walk around every hour or so and drink lots and lots of water. Double check with the airline that they're happy to take pg women and the max length of Pg (normally about 36 weeks or 34 for multiple pg). Other than that they say the rest, relaxation and hydrotherapy (swimming in warm, clear seas) will do both you and the baby good!

BabyMadwithBump · 02/01/2007 16:48

Happy New Year!

So Sorry for them that have MC, all the best for the future!

Week 9 for me and I've still got very bad MS or should I say alday sickness, still feel very drained, lost about 7-9lb in the last three weeks which I'm not happy about also boobs still hurting and I'm giving Pam a run for her money! First MW app tomorrow DH coming too, so that should be a very nice time for us, get my info pack and so on, and ask her about the 12w scan! I do hate the first trimester as you get nothing back you know your PG but no bump or scan or movement just alot of bad symptoms IYSWIM roll on 2/3 trimester.
With DS#2 I had bad MS and tiredness and I too had to go to a New Years Party, I just ended up finding a bed at 11pm and crashing on it for the best part of the party, but still the things you do when you feel this cr**.
