Is there a Due in August 2007 Thread?

I have finally got that positive after 6 years of TTC. I checked on a site that calculates due dates for IVF cycles and it gave me the due date of August 3rd. Is there not a thread created yet for August 2007?

Hi All,

Welcome and congratulations to katie! Cramping is normal as long as it is not really severe or associated with bleeding - like things starting to stretch I guess

So sorry to hear about how Yuck you are feeling Christmasmad - hope the doc can give you something to help you feel a bit more human again.

Feedme - sorry to hear about the hospital secretary bit it seems a very rude of them to be frank

I have had my scan this morning! I had been told it would be an internal but she said they would have a try on my tummy and there it was - like a little coffee bean with a flickering (so fast!) heart beat .
My dates fit with my charting ovulation date too and not my last period date.
LondonLou are you all set for your scan - is it still on wednesday?

I seem to be having symptoms which get worse one day, less the next and worse again the day after - hope they don't go to everyday!

Have you guys got any cravings yet?

feedmechristmaspuddingnow · 18/12/2006 16:02

Oooh, Gardeninggirl, thats so exciting!! Are you our first August scan? So what is your EDD? Did you get a piccie? Will you still have a 12 week scan?

gardeninggirl · 18/12/2006 16:36

Hi Feedme - I think I might have been the first - but I think LondonLou said she had one due on the 20th.
Have to say I was a bit teary after! Releif! I had to drive home (had taken a day of AL) via the shop to buy some pickled gerkins to celebrate -my latest craving!!
My GP had said I was 9 weeks and due in july - working on my last period. But cos we have been trying for ages - I was charting my temperatures and know I ovulated late so that is why I kept my EDD at 1st august - which the scan agreed with. Sometimes it is nice to be right !!

KatieandBB · 18/12/2006 16:47

unfortunately work girls do see me as one of them, ie: a raging alki. however am going to tell one who is guranteed to keep a secret and she can help me get rid of the alcoholic ones (she is going to be plastered)

breasts of boiling oil are awful bibijesus, feels like nipples are being sliced off, totally understand. gets worse in the cold too.

gardeninggirl - thats sounds so exciting, what a fab experience! congratulations to you

ChristmasMadwithBump · 18/12/2006 21:08

Doctor did jack s*, first I went to catch the bus at 3.25 just missed it and I had to wait with my 2 DS another 50 mins for the next one, when it's supposed to be a every 15 mins service, I asked the bus driver what the hold up had been she just stated that it was down it the building work in town, I just said "what a 50 mins hold up" she turn round and told me straight to my face that I could no way have been waiting 50 mins, I told her about the bus I missed at 25 past 3 and now it 15 past 4 so yes I had, then her colleague told her about this bus and something else that had crack off with other bus and he told her that it's very possible that I had been waiting 50+. I just sat down, after she was adamant that I was not getting apologue from her , and I just cried, bare in mind I was already late for my app, got to my doctor still crying apologizing for being 25 mins just to be told that I couldn't be seen due to being too late but I could come back later to see a doctor for the late app slots, I agreed to be seen then. Doctor didn't do anything really, noted that I was PG, check my tummy and listened to what I was complaining about (still crying), which was allot , but there's nothing they can do for MS "it's just one of them things" she said, no anti-sickness tabs nothing, she's booked me in with the midwife in 2 weeks, doctors said I was 7 weeks which is about right! sorry about the ranting and being very very hormonal

BibiJesus · 18/12/2006 21:59

Gosh, it sounds like no one's happy at the mo what with m/s and cr*ppy nhs service. Christmas is coming though guys, so sore boobs or no sore boobs I'll be dancing to christmas tunes all weekend long (around the house only I hasten to add), but I'll probably be wearing 3 bras to keep these puppies under control

On that subject, where oh where can I get a nice maternity bra? Last time round I didnt find a single one that was comfortable and supportive. I've got fairly big ones so can't really go without underwiring and soft fabric cups are a no-no, as they just flop about in those...any ideas? Sorry for TMI, especially that last image for those of you with m/s.

conkertree · 19/12/2006 09:02

sorry no info about bras. went to look in bhs cause i've sometimes been surprised that they have all right underwear, but they were rubbish.

dh cooked me toad in the hole last night cause i fancied something quite salty, but really it was a very bad idea. was ok while eating but felt awful afterwards, and the smell from cooking seemed to get pretty much the whole way through the house so this morning when i woke up i was straight to the bathroom with my head over the toilet. but then cause my stomach was pretty empty, there wasnt really anything to come out so was just a whole lot of retching. which strangely did make me feel a bit better.

only 4 days of sitting in this stupid office to go (at least until January). sorry if that was a rant - just dreading having to speak to clients while i feel this sick.

Catalepticdru · 19/12/2006 10:19

Aren't we a bunch of moaning minnies... still we've got one hll of an excuse! Feeling rather depressed and teary today. Back at work, getting more hassle and stressed. Was supposed to be going to a meeting in West Yorks today (I work in Sunderland) but blew it off because my head aches I don't really feel up to the 1 1/2 hr drive. So I rang the guy chairing the meeting and he was very understanding fortunately.
But still stressed coz some of my staff are so f
ing useless, I have to hold their hands all the time agghhhh!!! /rant.
Hope you are all okay I'm sending all August mums a big hug. Have to say, dh has been making a big fuss over me, massaging my back and giving me lots of cuddles. I hope all your OHs are doing the same!

hormonalwreck · 19/12/2006 11:15

Think big hugs are needed all round! gardeningirl - wow what an experience, it sounds wonderful! I've booked my 12 week scan for 23rd jan which seems like an age away. (That said, August seems like an eternity away!)

I've also had tummy cramps which are worse one day then mild the next - what is going on down there!

On the bra front - My boobs are like fried eggs on an ironing board! the only thing that seems to have grown is my nipples (which my DH seems to think is hillarious) they've calmed down on the aching front but are still sensitive. Will they get bigger or is this my lot?
Anyway, bras, my friend told me to stop wearing underwired bras as it can interfere with milk duct production - anyone heard anything about this? I mean without underwiring and padding, there's nothing there!!!

cravings - sort of, was in the gym and really fancied capers!!! Came home and had smoked mackerel, caper and advocado sandwich - was really yummy, but v salty so I guess my body knows what it wants better than I do!

feedmechristmaspuddingnow · 19/12/2006 12:32

Yeah, I've heard that about bras too.
Hormonal, my boobs are like yours. Not getting bigger apart from bizarre looking nipples!
I'm feeling really sick at the moment. I just seem to swing from starving to feeling sick...I hate it! I haven't wrapped up any christmas pressies yet and have no idea when I'm going to do it cos the second the children are in bed I have to go to bed too! Theres no point me trying to get dp to do it cos wrapping really isn't one of his strengths
What cravings have we got so far? I've just read picked gerkhins and hormonals bizarre sandwich.....I've got a thing for lucozade. Anyone else?

conkertree · 19/12/2006 13:57

i had one for a corned beef and tomato sauce sandwich which purple rabbit very kindly bought for me when i was babysitting her ds last week - and then by the time i got there, i didnt fancy it quite as much. i've also really fancied fizzy drinks more than i ever normally do.

Catalepticdru · 19/12/2006 16:02

I've pretty much gone off food, except at times when I've become ravenously hungry then I want savoury. I now dislike alcohol and I'm not so bothered about chocolate, though I really fancy some ice cream...

Going to the doctor's in the morning to get my blood pressure checked. I rang NHS to see if I could take anything else apart from paracetamol for my headaches as they are quite severe and the paracetamol isn't working. Because they've been going on so long the health advisor I spoke to really thought I ought to get it checked out, because it may or may not be pregnancy related.

PS DH is getting me some ice cream

feedmechristmaspuddingnow · 19/12/2006 16:24

I think my lucozade fixation may be responsible for this afternoons chronic wind problem Good thing that there hasn't been anyone else in the office this afternoon
Cateleptic, I hope the headaches subside.....it's so horrible not being able to pill-pop at the drop of a hat.

KatieandBB · 19/12/2006 17:11

hiya

I had one paracetamol this morning befaore going to the doctors and still feel guilty. am off chocolate too, the more savoury the better.

re boobs: when do we need to start wearing maternity bras anyway? although I am 32G already so may have to sew two parachutes together!

treacletart · 19/12/2006 18:02

Have you tried 4Head or Tiger Balm on your headaches? - I've found them suprisingly effective.

I've never had pregnancy cravings before, but I have developed a bit of a thing for cup-a-soups strong, salty and as artificial as you can get!

I reckon Bravado do the comfiest maternity bras for the larger norked lass. I'm 32H when not pregnant but I wore underwires all through when I was pregnant with DS - didn't affect my milk production at all.

Loulee · 19/12/2006 20:06

Hi all, Haven't checked in for a few weeks - wow! quite impressive all those posts. For those of you (most ) I've not met I'm 37, have a dd1 (3.5) and dd2 (1.5) and expecting no3 in 1st week of aug. Sorry to hear of all feeling fed up - and entertained to read of all the similar experiences re; xmas parties, ms etc!

Must admit, I've only skimmed
...but curiously have the same addiction to lucozade,

...would second the bravado maternity bra but have to say i think the elee macpherson ones are better - and certainly give you a better shape / make you feel less frumpy. i used them in my last 2 pregnancies and am 30dd if that helps
Had been feeling awful sick and tired and then invested in one of those multivitamin 'pregnacare' tablets. Amazing! - sickness gone - unless i forget to take it and then I'm guaranteed to throw up within 24 hours! - very strange - thought I'd share, just in case it works for anyone else. I was really sick in both my previous pregnancies. if only I'd known..

boobooma · 19/12/2006 20:21

BRAS: Yup, Bravado were the best of the pick of bras IMO, even better if you can get to one of their shops, they have fantastic service. I'm still wearing my Bravado breastfeeding bra tho I stopped nearly 3 months ago. Figleaves are pretty good too.

I was also told not to wear underwire and given a very convincing argument about it blocking the milk ducts and potentially causing mastitis, yuk. Put the fear of god into me and made sense.

I'm really pleased to hear about scans happening and planned, makes it seem all the more real and exciting. Looking forward to christmas and telling family even though I'll only be 5 or 6 weeks by then.

Endless, still my only symptoms are being tired and emotional, so I'm also a bit worried about it being real, but similar to last time so I suppose that's more reassuring for me.

gardeninggirl · 19/12/2006 21:29

God all of this stuff is golddust for us first timers!
Tried to do some Christmas shopping today but oh what a nightmare - I am just so tired. And discovered taking the tube back from town in the rushour is a sure way to getting real bad waves of nausea!

lovelybird · 19/12/2006 21:40

Hi all, hope you're OK. Christmasmad - you poor thing jut wanted to send you a big hug after your bus/drs trauma.
My boobs are really starting to hurt now so will start looking for a maternity bra this week. The ones I had last time have no underwiring at all, in fact have never seen one with underwiring so the milk thing must be the reason I guess. I really want a T shirt one though, with some padding to hide my nipples! I remember when I was preg with DS and needed to use breast pads when I was leaking milk they are visible through a non-padded bra which can be embarrassing at work! If you know of any padded ones let me know, i'll start looking.
I'm really thirsty and craving milk and drinking loads of milk every evening. Feel crap all day, very sick but haven't been sick yet, only start to feel OK when it's time for bed! Break up from work tomorrow-yippee!

smellymelly · 20/12/2006 07:32

Hi all - started to fell sick yesterday pm, so am really happy now !!! Dh breathed on me this morning and I nearly threw up(!) he had had garlic last night..

Loulee - I think I have read somewhere that if some women take b vits it can help with the sickness, so perhaps it is that.

Endless - your doc won't hand out sickness tablets, I thought they were dangerous to babe? I am afraid we all just have to get through it.... I wore those seabands 24 hrs a day up to 12 weeks I think last time, was too scared to take them off. Funny thing was the only place I didn't feel sick was on our boat!

I have worn underwired bras in all my pregnancies until it got too uncomfortable. Was tol by a midwife that I would have damaged my milk supply when I was pregnant with my 1st, but it was all fine. Have fed all of mine and am still feeding dd2 who is just 2! I think you all have to find what is the most comfortable for you...

boobooma · 20/12/2006 08:40

Hello everyone

I agree with melly, do whats right for you with bras, and it is possible to survive without underwire, even with mega boobs.

I'd echo what Loulee said about multivitamins. Ive been using the prenatal solgar ones and not been sick this time or at all last time, so maybe that's the reason why? I don't want to experiment and stop to see if I get sick.

bresha · 20/12/2006 09:25

Morning every one, hope you all had a good weekend, u sure talk a lot

Im actually dreading Christmas feel so sick, I don?t think I could eat xmas dinner or all the chocolate, the only thing I can eat and keep down at the moment are oranges and banana sandwiches and only at lunch time, cant eat a thing in the morning or the evening. Iv also been wonting fizzy drinks, normally I hate the stuff,

I have lots on at the mo, spent the hole weekend face painting out side in the cold and we have all the family to visit and end of school parties and what not

I couldn?t find any good maternity bras last time, there isn?t any shop near me that sell them so had to order them and I sent loads back, were abouts is the best place to buy them? I never heard that underwierd bras were bad for milk, I wore them in both my pg and I wasn?t able to bf them properly, had to give up after 2 weeks, so could be true, hmm, might have to look into that.

Wow gardinggirl, glad you had a scan, I cant Waite till mine, got to Waite till end of Jan though

Big hug christmasmadwithbump, what a day , the drs don?t seem to wont to know do they, im just waiting for the mw to call and make a booking appointment, it will be after xmas now though, he did give me a EDD of 7/08/07 but other than that it was a waste of time.

Uki · 20/12/2006 09:32

Hi All

Congrat's on the scan gardeninggirl,
mine's not till 15th Jan seems like forever.

I thought you could wear underwire up till near the end, 35 weeeks which is what i did last time.

Loulee-glad the tabs made you feel better, they do the opposite with me however.

My belly is looking so big already , i don't get it. I feel really bloated, can't be baby.

bresha · 20/12/2006 09:33

Q. Is it okay to wear an underwired bikini? I?m going on holiday and don?t want to have to buy a new one.
A Some midwives advise against underwired bras and bikinis as the wire can restrict the changes in size and shape of the breast or interfere with the developing milk ducts. But so long as your bikini is comfy, supportive and doesn?t cut into your breasts, you should be fine to wear it on holiday. When it comes to bras, though, it?s best to buy a proper maternity bra. hormonalwreck · 20/12/2006 10:35

That's all good bra info, have looked at a few maternity bras and they all look ENORMOUS - can only dream of being that size! Think I'll have to wait til I have something to put in it and avoid underwire. As a first timer I don't want to risk anything (mad parania kiicks in again)

Feedme, think I'm having same symptoms as you, feel nauseous in the morning, then starving midmorning and so it cycles thro the day, one extreme to the other.

I also seem to have put on weight around my waist and tummy but it looks more like fat than baby bump. All my trousers are snug around my waist/hips too. Surely it's way to early to 'show'? Is anyone else this shape - As my friend put it, 'looking fat not pg yet' just in time for christmas - great!!!
