Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 37th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 36th grads fred is here

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 52nd outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates.

deeply yes you can use it on eye lids. Its about £7 I think. It was designed for use after a chemical peel so its very soothing and anti bacterial and what not.

WouldRatherHaveCake · 18/08/2015 08:16

Thursday yes hoping to, but today is only my 12w scan!

carrot don't feel bad, easier said than done I know. I was very shame faced when I had to take DS to the hospital after a nasty bump to the head and the consultant just laughed and warned me there will be many more. If there is any bruising arnica works wonders

ThursdayLast · 18/08/2015 08:18

Sorry would! I get mixed up.
Well, it'll be fun anyway, I suppose it'd be rather a shock if you could see a massive willy today Grin

5hell · 18/08/2015 08:22

country how weird is weird?

enjoy your scan would , hope you have a lovely sonographer :)

CountryGal4 · 18/08/2015 08:24

I looks a little bit like a small patch of eczema tbh

Purpleball · 18/08/2015 08:30

Gx Would Smile

LaLaLaaaa · 18/08/2015 08:37

5hell just seen your scan news - fantastic!!!!

Would - gx for you today, you will be fine x

Any itchy viroids - I found a shower every Eve before bed really helped as I had itchy legs through pg

picklethistle · 18/08/2015 08:53

thursday I am 6+2 but it's my first so I'm totally clueless Smile

CarrotPuff · 18/08/2015 09:22

Thanks viroids. The more I look at it, the more I think GP will just say put some ice on it and that's it. DP however is far more anxious than me and insists on him getting checked out. Hmm... I guess I'll give them a call and see what they say.

Good luck with the scan would, what time is it?

ThursdayLast · 18/08/2015 09:31

Well be reassured pickle that if you lived in Cornwall it wouldn't be out of the ordinary not to have heard from your MW yet Smile

SecondCupOfTea · 18/08/2015 09:56

Pickle I've added you to the list, and you are currently 32nd in the queue Grin. I've worked out your EDD as 10-04-16, is this right?

SecondCupOfTea · 18/08/2015 10:01

I slept until 0940 this morning not counting getting up for my 5am wee. It feels bloomin' marvellous. Got loads of things to do, mind Hmm

SecondCupOfTea · 18/08/2015 10:04

Let me take that back, perhaps I haven't had enough sleep. Was just reading the bumph about the hospital I'm going to tomorrow, and it mentions that the cafe sells coffees, pastries, cakes and penises. Penises! Shock. On second reading I realised it said paninis Blush

Then again, it is a maternity hospital, so you never know...

picklethistle · 18/08/2015 10:34

Yes tea that's right. Wow 32!!!! That's loads of babies!

Thanks thursday il try and be a bit more patient.

pretzelpieces · 18/08/2015 10:36

I've got my first appointment with the mental health midwives team today. I'm nervous! Especially about driving myself to the hospital and parking!!

WouldRatherHaveCake · 18/08/2015 10:54

It's at 1.15 carrot

pretzel you'll have to let me know how it goes, mines on the 1st and I'm a bit Hmm as I have to go on my own (the horror)

pretzelpieces · 18/08/2015 11:24

Will do would, good luck again for scan, can't wait to see pic of little cake!

SecondCupOfTea · 18/08/2015 12:01

GL Pretzel and I'm sure your driving will be fine (just think confidently and try not to fret)

Lookingforadvice123 · 18/08/2015 12:03

Hi viroids, sorry I haven't caught up on the thread as I've been trying to stay away from the boards as I don't think they help my anxiety, but I have a question and have no one else to turn to:

I've been worrying about cervix length / competence as I know it's something that can go wrong. Had a private scan just over a week ago and asked the sonographer to measure my cervix, which was 4.88cm so higher end of normal. I was told that if this was a concern, I could ask it to be checked at my anomaly scan, which was yesterday. The sonographer was reluctant and said they would usually only do it trans-vaginally (private scan was trans-abdominal) but that she would have a look abdominally anyway - she said it was "36" which I've only today realised must've meant 36mm, so over a cm reduction in only a week. I've managed to work myself into a state worrying over this, called the antenatal assessment centre to ask their advice, they just keep saying as I've not had this problem in a previous pregnancy (this is my 1st pregnancy!) there's no point worrying, although obviously that is a significant reduction in only a week. They've booked me in for an antenatal clinic appointment...in 6 weeks time. I have no idea what I can do now, my next midwife appointment won't be for 4 weeks but as if she would be able to do anything anyway. It seems as if no one will help unless I actually go into labour, start bleeding etc.

Lookingforadvice123 · 18/08/2015 12:05

Forgot to add - I have had a lot of discomfort in my pelvis/abdomen, including cramps, pain and pressure. I have explained this to the AAC but to no avail.

goodnessgraciousgouda · 18/08/2015 12:23

looking - I'm sorry that you're stressing about this. Obviously health resources are extremely finite, so really medical staff just aren't going to have time to sit down and talk through every single minor concern with every single pregnant woman. They HAVE to focus on people who are actually having problems, and need help as you mentioned. To be honest, I would take their advice on board - No problems, no worries.

I don't want to sound too dismissive, but it sounds like you are working yourself into a state over absolutely nothing whatsoever. Discomfort in the pelvis/abdo, cramps, pains, pressure are all completely normal (obviously if they are EXTREME then that is another thing). Your body is growing at a freakishly fast rate (everyone, not you specifically), and for most people that isn't without it's growing pains. Likewise, if you're stressed, that's likely to make pains worse - or at least seem worse - because you are hyper aware of them.

It doesn't sound like the sonographer was doing a particularly precise measurement, so there's no point worrying about what is most likely a half arsed measurement!

Why would you even be worried about an incompetence cervix anyway? There are an absolute fuck ton of things that can go wrong during a pregnancy, and really no point picking things at random to worry over!

gaggiagirl · 18/08/2015 12:25

Sorry, what is measuring 36mm, your cervix? Whatever made you worry about your cervix size?

pretzelpieces · 18/08/2015 12:32

Sorry you're worrying looking but it really sounds like all the signs are good. Did you go to the GP about help with your anxiety? I really feel that could be beneficial.

Lookingforadvice123 · 18/08/2015 12:52

Thanks gouda. I totally understand how short staffed the NHS is (I work in the public sector too!) but I'm really confused and upset that the midwife I spoke to admits that a shortening of over a cm in a week is a lot, but yet it won't be looked into for 6 weeks, by which time I imagine it will be too late. It seems that something has to go drastically wrong before anything will be done.

pretzel I saw my GP this morning, he has referred me for CBT but the waiting list is 14 months Sad really frustrating as I first saw a GP about anxiety 21 months ago, so if he had referred me then I would have been treated by now.

I've found a private antenatal care provider in my area who will do specific cervical scans (trams-vaginally) for £140, but in all honesty I'm skeptical and would rather be seen by an NHS doctor.

pretzelpieces · 18/08/2015 13:00

looking Oh how rubbish. I had a massive wait for my therapy but didn't think cbt would take as long. Well done for going to the GP about it nonetheless.
