Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 37th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 36th grads fred is here

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 52nd outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates.

What a luffly day. Squishy tiny baby cuddles at our friends, only meant to stay an hour so we didn't intrude but they'd got in pizzas so we have just got in! Discussed getting a cottage together next year too, love having fun plans to look forward to! Only downside was killer headache which came from nowhere, hung around for ages then when it slightly receded I felt very swimmy and dizzy with pins and needles everywhere. OK now just very drained and slightly feel like inside of head has been scooped out Confused

purplewhale · 29/08/2015 21:52

Pretzel I've gained loads in the last month, prior to that not much at all but I was obese to start with. I think 2 stones is a normal amount but don't obsess if you can avoid it. If you follow a healthy diet then you won't be gaining fat. If you eat tons of junk food and cake then you will be.
I've not actually gained fat, my arse and legs are smaller than when I got pregnant. The weight I've gained seems to be all pregnancy related I hope

Looking it's a reaction to a Fragmin injection, I have to do them daily and they sting a lot. Twice now I've had a horrible reaction, it's sore and swollen and I'm just waiting for the bruise to come out. Last time it was better after 3-4 days. Currently I have a bag of frozen peas on it which seems to help

oneyorkshirepud · 29/08/2015 22:07

Hopefully you will get more info from your MW on Tues Purple but maybe there is an alternative to the Framin? Have you/can you stop the injections for now? (I don't know what fragmin is for...)

Ha ha Bat I feel the same! I love how we have had home visits/address checks etc to adopt kittens but no one checks if we are suitable to be parents ha ha!

Had a nice day shopping for home stuff with MIL, then she cooked us both tea and let me pick adorable cardigans out of her massive stash of knitting patterns that she will make for the baby! We are spoilt!

batfish · 30/08/2015 07:05

Thanks purple - I do have lists but for some reason even they confuse me! I don't have any cardigans so was just going to pack babygros but then I don't know if I'm supposed to put a vest one under a long one or just a long one or what's going on! No idea why I'm finding it so hard but when I tried to pack yesterday I felt really scared like the first time I tried to buy things from a baby shop! Then I was chatting to my sister and mentioned swaddling and she is a midwife and said that they recommend against it as it increases the chances of SIDS - but it's pretty popular here and apparently the midwives in the hospitals will swaddle the babies for you so now I'm a bit worried about that too! I'm normally a very laid back person but this is freaking me out and it's happening soon!

jellypi3 · 30/08/2015 07:43

bat i think it's natural to freak out at that stage, everything is about to change for you and soon. Flowers for you

my wind took a turn for the worst last night and became a hazardous gas. I was round a friends house and they kept blaming their 9 month old daughter for the smell...am I a bad person for not owning up Blush

MollyBloomYes · 30/08/2015 07:49

Jelly that is absolutely what babies are for and on of the great pleasures of having one Wink

ThursdayLastWeek · 30/08/2015 08:02

MWs swaddle in the UK too bat. IMO nothing to worry about as it can really help some babies sleep. I guess if you do t want them to, you'll have to tell them?

DH family happy for us and DH let it slip to my sis last night and she's v happy too. Just my parents to go now.

oneyorkshirepud · 30/08/2015 08:18

Ooh telling people is fun Thurs!

Bat, swaddling is pretty common in the UK too as far as I know.

Right then, moan time. I am having real issues with lower back pain (muscular, not labour esk, don't panic). I think this is because my stomach muscles have exploded there is nothing to act against my back muscles which are pulling tight and causing my lower back to over arch. This is made worse by the fact that I normally either sleep completely flat on my front or back and now I am trying to sleep on my side - which I find chuffing uncomfortable. Going to order a dream geni today and will see the physio for a massage later in the week if it doesn't get better. We can see physios right? Could actually cry. Sad Very unusually grumpy face for pud today. Waaaaaaaah. Sad

jellypi3 · 30/08/2015 08:25

:( awww pud you poor thing. Deffo try a dream genii, i'm going to buy one soon I think, i'm really struggling sleeping on my left but want to try my best to do so!

jellypi3 · 30/08/2015 08:59

when is too early to start planning what you are going to buy. I'm generally a very organised person and i've started planning (via spreadsheets) what co-sleepers, furniture sets, prams/carseats etc we are going to get. DP said it's too early.

purplewhale · 30/08/2015 09:10

Aww Pud I feel for you. I'd recommend physio/sports massage

Jelly I chose my pram and car seat at 4 weeks!

Fragmin is to prevent thrombosis. It's an anti clotting agent. I'm high risk cos of diabetes. I'm still doing the injections as clots scare me

Oh and cocodamol means constipation -I'd forgotten that delight

oneyorkshirepud · 30/08/2015 09:15

Thanks for the sympathy Viroids. Have done some stretching on the floor and now having kitten cuddles while DH cleans the house so have cheered up a bit. Smile

Jelly, not to early to be planning. We didn't buy anything until after 20 week scan but I think that was a particularly cautious approach. Buying baby stuff is fun!

jellypi3 · 30/08/2015 09:17

I don't even want to buy i just want to plan but DP is being really uninterested :(

Lookingforadvice123 · 30/08/2015 09:28

pud Flowers I suffer with back pain too, always have on and off and I have a misaligned pelvis which doesn't help. Saying that my preggo pillow has helped, sleeping with it between your knees on your side is a really good way to support the lower back. Also, maybe buy a gym/birthing ball? I have one as our sofa is quite soft (fabric rather than leather) and if I sit on it for long periods of time my back tends to hurt, assuming lack of support as I never suffer with my back at my desk chair in work. So I've got the ball to sit on as an alternative when it's bad, that helps too as the pain tends to subside after sitting on it for a while.

batfish · 30/08/2015 10:02

Awww pud that sounds horrid, you can definitely see a physio if you need to, hopefully the pillow will help too.

Yay thursday hope the rest of your telling people goes well!

Haha jelly I totally wouldn't have owned up to the smell! Never to early to plan I say, I would say mr bat was never that interested in Internet research though but has had a lot of enthusiasm in the shops so hopefully mr jelly will be the same!

gaggiagirl · 30/08/2015 10:22

bat let the midwives or who ever it will be in those parts dress baby after birth. They will give you a little tutorial. Short sleeve vest and babygrow is fine.
jelly after 20 weeks should be ok.
pud there should be a special antenatal/womens health physio at your hospital. Midwife/GP/self referral.

Sorry to those with arse rain, pukes and headaches xxx

All the sex was had last night and today were up faaaar north honey spotting!

oneyorkshirepud · 30/08/2015 10:37

Ooh good info Ga, I was just going to go to the private physio that is next to work. I have ordered the pillow (Yey!) And will see how I get on. If I'm still struggling I will let mw know.
Looking, I will get the gym ball blown back up and give it a go - thanks! How are you?

pretzelpieces · 30/08/2015 10:56

Thanks purple! I'm eating lots of cheese at the moment! Confused

bat I think parenting is one of those learn on the job things right? Surely we all feel like that to start off with. Flowers

thursday glad the big reveal went well!

pud I've had the same (except for the stomach muscles bit, never had any of those haha). I've been referred to an obstetric physio for it. It's especially painful at night and first thing in the morning.

SecondCupOfTea · 30/08/2015 11:09

Crikey, such a lot to catch up on! So erm... Cake / Flowers / hooyahs / Brew / Star take your appropriate item from the list

I've hit 12 weeks today Shock and have already purchased my first maternity item, a very comfy pair of jeans off Asos for £13 it's not so much bump, more increasing general bloat

I may need a hooyah myself here, but I'm getting nervous that I might have another bleed in the next few days. My previous one was at 8 weeks, so am presuming it was a breakthrough bleed. Now I'm not sure if that makes me more likely to get the same at 12 weeks Confused

Will be happy once I've had my scan on Thursday as my vague symptoms make me nervy Hmm

pretzelpieces · 30/08/2015 11:14

tea! Congrats on 12 weeks! selects one hooyah and one gold star from the list for myself I don't think you're necessarily likely to get a breakthrough bleed at 12 weeks just because you got one at 8, but try not to worry ahead of time. Good luck for scan!

oneyorkshirepud · 30/08/2015 11:50

Yey! Congrats on 12 weeks tea! I had a btb at 4 weeks and that was it. So just because you have had one doesn't mean you will have another.

Sorry you are suffering too Pretzel, yes first thing on a morning is so painful! Will see if I can get a referal from mw if it continues.

purplewhale · 30/08/2015 12:01

Hurray for 12 weeks Tea

Dried apricots for brekkie here, hopefully they'll help get things moving.

Jelly my DH wasn't interested til 12 weeks. I still planned everything though.

Bat I'm not that sure either but I figure the midwives will tell me if I'm wrong or I could just ask

deeplybaffled · 30/08/2015 12:15

Pud, I had pre existing back probs and the m/w sent me to a physio who provided a velcro and elasticated support belt to use when standing or walking and I found that pretty helpful. I also have a dream genii which is good, although would caveat that I get really hot at night if I use it as it traps your body heat next to you, so maybe better in cooler weather unless you are a chilly person at night?
indigo - glad to hear all well. Have been bad and not touched epi no recently for various reasons including nasty streaming cold which has knocked me sideways.
Colds should be banned in summer and if you are full term :( - although might help with a sneeze birth. ....

Lookingforadvice123 · 30/08/2015 12:16

tea I felt exactly the same. My second bleed actually came at 15+6 instead so was actually 7 weeks after the first. Doctor told me there's not really a pattern so could happen at any time, just try to relax even if it does happen again (surprised myself with how calm I was when the second one happened)! Currently 22+1 and still expecting another!

pud am good thank you have been much better this past week. Sometimes I think it takes a meltdown to start to feel better as it gets rid of all the built up anxiety/tension. Off on hols to Majorca next Saturday for a week though which I will be nervous about, being out of my comfort zone!

Indigoblue2 · 30/08/2015 12:20

bat the midwives will show you what to do. I didn't know anything. They will show you how to dress and lift them, how to position them for feeding etc, how to put a nappy on and all that kind of stuff. Like Ga said it's pretty much your own little one on one tutorial. I imagine it will be just the same where you are? I had bought some vest from markies and some from primark, both newborn, but the primark ones were much bigger. I took 4 of each and three sleep suits in newborn size (sleep suits being the baby grows with legs and arms). I also took a packet of wet wipes, a packet of nappies in first size (newborn), two packets of maternity pads, lansinoh (TAKE IT!), lansinoh breast pads (waste of time as milk wasn't in till I came home but take them anyway incase you're in longer). I took one cellular blanket which I didn't use till going home as they have NHS ones. And the midwives swaddled the whole time in hospital. Take a lot of changes of pants for leaking maternity pads etc. I took 4 which was fine but more would be good, no harm if they come home unused. I also wore some of DHs boxers on top of pants and then a nightie on my top half.

tea congrats on 12 weeks! Looking forward to scan!
