Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 37th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 36th grads fred is here

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 52nd outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates.

We have been told to take £10 for a pic at our 12week scan!! Shock

I don't think I have put on much, if anything, due to the sickness/lack of eating etc. I really should invest in some scales.

auf you are not alone. MS is kicking my butt, I throw up and gag for about 95% of my day (and night). Nothing I eat helps. I can keep ice water and caff free diet coke down long enough to not die of dehydration but besides that I feel like I'm dying! You are always welcome to msg me to moan! My DH is prob sick of me whining too as we havent told anyone else.

SecondCupOfTea · 20/08/2015 16:43

Putting my neck on the line here, but I see no issue with being asked to pay a few quid for a scan picture. IMHO these scans are part of a series of free medical check-ups we get. Checks that are often done by highly qualified but somewhat underpaid staff. They're not done for the main purpose of giving us a photo.

Sorry, I'll just move away from that soapbox... Hmm

5hell · 20/08/2015 17:03

was going to have a little moan about today's megaskittletits, wind, nausea and bloating, but I know I'm lucky compared to some of you so i take it back....it's probably mostly my fault for wearing an odd bra and eating too many lentils at lunchtime!!!

I agree with you tea

pretzelpieces · 20/08/2015 17:12

I can see how the photo is not part of the necessary medical procedure of the scan - but scans are not free! NHS treatment is paid for collectively, not free of charge!

pretzelpieces · 20/08/2015 17:21

I guess it's okay paying a few quid if you can afford it but not everybody can.

goodnessgraciousgouda · 20/08/2015 17:25

Agree with pretzel ! In fact, considering that the majority of people pay at least 12% of their earnings towards the NHS, you really don't get that much for your money!! I found out the other day that many places don't even do a gestational diabetes test as a routine - only if you fall into a high risk category!

Over here you are given scan pictures as part of the cost of your appointment (which can be within the amount the government cover, or more depending on which clinic you choose). Most of these show technical measurements and are just blobs and are for your medical records (which you keep yourself), but you do get the odd nice one. If you want a fancier picture just for private use then you pay extra.

honeysucklejasmine · 20/08/2015 17:35

I get a lot from the NHS, because of chronic health problems. In fact, some of you are probably subsidising me Wink

SecondCupOfTea · 20/08/2015 17:39

By 'free' I meant 'free at the point of contact'. I.e. you are not paying for each individual appointment, scan, test, etc. We all pay our taxes the same regardless of whether we use these particular NHS services, so in essence, they are 'free' to us when used.

I understand that everyone has different financial situations, but IMHO it's not for the taxpayer to fund scan pictures. Does the taxpayer fund school photos? (Actually, I have no idea if we do or not, but I don't think we should).

I'm not saying my opinion is right, it's just how I feel about it. Smile

MrsTattoo · 20/08/2015 17:50

I totally agree tea, thats not the purpose for the scans so am happy to pay for any pictures of TinyTattoo my blurry blob. I'm just amazed at the cost differences in different parts of the country Confused

honeysucklejasmine · 20/08/2015 18:02

I guess it's the same as not finding out the gender at 20 weeks. That's not the purpose of the scan. If they can tell you, and you want to know, they will (in most trusts, some don't!) but they won't offer another one for the express purpose of identifying gender.

And if any of you dare say anything about gender and sex not being the same thing... Shut it. Wink I know, I know.

purplewhale · 20/08/2015 18:12

We didn't have to pay for the 12w one as I agreed to a student in there. Didn't pay for 20w as it wasn't very clear!

purplewhale · 20/08/2015 18:15

Should have said both times we were prepared to pay. It was £4 for 1 or 3 for £10

Productive mat leave day today, got up at 10, made lemon drizzle cake and oat biscuits. Still need to sort out iTunes and playlists including one for c section

Purplebaby is very squirmy now and seems to wriggle 24/7 Smile

ThursdayLastWeek · 20/08/2015 18:49

Woop where I'm going for dinner tonight does a deep fried goats cheese fritter - preggo friendly goats cheese Grin

honeysucklejasmine · 20/08/2015 19:03

I had grilled goats cheese yesterday. Yummy. As. Fuck.

Had enchiladas tonight. Yum, but couldn't eat much.

OP posts:
SecondCupOfTea · 20/08/2015 19:18

Oh freaky honey cos I've just made enchiladas for dinner as well Hmm

honeysucklejasmine · 20/08/2015 19:33

We had beef ones as chicken makes me gag these days.

picklethistle · 20/08/2015 19:34

When you put it like that tea I see your point regarding scan pictures. I just wasn't prepared. I'm scotland they ask for a donation which I think is helpful for everyone. I don't know how much they want for a picture as they just said bring the correct change. Might call them and check.

How is everyone feeling? I'm starting to feel a bit icky most of the day but not actually thrown up yet. Have stashed IKEA freezer bags in each back just in case Grin

CarrotPuff · 20/08/2015 19:49

I agree with Tea. Picture is not the purpose of the scan. It's a nice extra, but not a must.

Still no call about the job... Boo hoo...

NFMD: pizza tonight. Cheese is rich in calcium, right?

SecondCupOfTea · 20/08/2015 19:52

Pickle I've still not really had any nausea, but noticed that I get really hot and feel odd if I have to bend over for any time. Was just trying to fix the catflap and had to go and splash water on my face then sit down Hmm

It's not like standard low bp symptoms, it's just a bit odd and only really been the last couple of weeks. I may use it as an excuse not to pick anything up off the floor Grin

honeysucklejasmine · 20/08/2015 21:34

I am painting by finger nails and watching trash on telly. I love trash. Tonight is "Escape from a cult" on channel 5.

Hi all!

pretz the reason you should change all passwords is that the hackers will likely have your IP address and could, in theory could have deployed the same tactics to access your other accounts Sad I run a digital agency and he is our tech guru.

Not sure who wanted Wine but am pretty sure you can have a small glass. The NHS says 1-2 units a week is ok. I have a friend who is a specialist nurse that says it is actually good for you once in awhile - something to do with blood pressure and relaxing your muscles that are stressed from things growing and shifting. When I was pregnant with DD I spent a lot of time in France. I'd order a glass of champagne, have a sip and then give it to whomever I was dining with. The ordering and single sip were all I needed. weirdo

MollyBloomYes · 20/08/2015 22:03

Well that was a riot of password changing, account setting fun Hmm have had my bil staying and in need of entertainment so been very busy. Has been fun though, he's 15 and more than willing to be an absolute loon with DS Smile

I was asked for donation for ds scans which we were happy to give, and these scans (different pcts) were £5 for two with a maximum of four allowed to be purchased. Doesn't bother me having to pay but would love it if we didn't have to scrabble around for change every time!

What does spd/pgp feel like? Didn't have it last time but have a horrible feeling....

pretzelpieces · 20/08/2015 22:14

Ah, thanks sky. I just don't have the energy at the moment so the other passwords will have to wait for now! But it's useful (if terrifying!) to have the info.

Yesterday I nearly passed out in primark at the tills in front of a massive queue of people! I had to sit on the floor quite suddenly Blush and then to make it worse I had to go back today cause I'd left a ring binder of work notes behind when it happened. I know I don't need to be embarrassed but I felt like a right knob all the same. Blush

DP is home tomorrow evening for the weekend. I've missed him heaps. We're just going to have a weekend to regroup as we've had a lot of (non baby related) bad news this week.

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 20/08/2015 22:26

pretz hope you're ok. Sounds like you're dealing with a lot!

pretzelpieces · 20/08/2015 22:56

Thank you sky. Yeah things are hard at the moment. I don't feel like my usual self. Just trying to pace myself and know we'll get out the other side.
