Same here, DH watching football so I am banished to the PC, but not without his debit card LOL

I am also having a glass of wine, feeling guilty already but who knows it might be enough to relax into labour!!! LOL OK OK, any excuse I know, but there you go!! LOL

OP posts:
saralou100 · 29/11/2006 20:51

why the guilt? it's making you LOL alot!

bought anything nice?

is your dh a bolton fan by any chance?

NatalieJane · 29/11/2006 20:58

I always feel guilty when I have a drink when I'm pregnant, I've never had enough to feel even the slightst bit tipsy but I still get that 'I really shouldn't be doing this' feeling!

Yep, he is a Bolton fan, and Chelsea have scored so it isn't going well! He isn't that much of a sulker really, but he is actually from Bolton so it is his beloved team!

OP posts:
NatalieJane · 29/11/2006 20:59

And no, not brought anything yet, sometimes you just can't see for looking.

OP posts:
saralou100 · 29/11/2006 21:02

it appears were avoiding the same game then.. dp lifelong chelsea fan (so very happy at the moment-is a sulker)

i may join you in that glass of wine!

NatalieJane · 29/11/2006 21:07

LOL Why not? I think I'd have indulged in more than a glass by 5 days over!!!

Have you tried all of the sex/curry/walking etc?

OP posts:
saralou100 · 29/11/2006 21:18

rather romantically the other night i put to dp that i required his sperm for inducing properties for labour... he's been obliging for the last few nights now (reluctantly of course )

i have craved spicy food for most of this pg now, so curry eaten regularly (not tried vindaloo yet!)

long walks out of the question due to spd, i can't manage a 5 min walk to shops and back! although i am going into town tomoorow to get ds new shoes, should be fun (and out of this house, we got cabin fever bad)

wine is poured...mmmmm , alcohol! i miss this stuff!

NatalieJane · 29/11/2006 21:24

I bet you go into labour by the end of the week, you'll just wake up one night with contractions from no where, and then you will be holding your LO not long after

OP posts:
saralou100 · 29/11/2006 21:43

heres hoping!!

and heres hoping you wake up one night with contractions that don't go away !

NatalieJane · 29/11/2006 21:45

I think the longest I have gone with no contractions since they started is about 5-6 hours...

Come over to the labour thread, the girls are on top form tonight, it will really cheer you up, or egg you on!!

OP posts:
calsworld · 29/11/2006 21:58

Hi all....still here....still contracting. Debbsy, gutted you beat me to it...hope all goes well for you.

My contractions have picked up in strength again since going a bit quieter this afternoon. Can still swear through them - does that count as talking? Don't feel in the slightest like going to bed..think DH has other ideas (and no, not for anything other than sleep!).

Feel like a bit of a fraud...how long can this go on for? (Please don't say seven weeks ) and are these contractions actually achieving anything?

I'm tired and I've flattened a completely new battery in my Tens machine, now onto battery number two, and as DH insisted that I wouldn't need three, we'll be stripping them out of the smoke detectors if this one goes flat! Or he'll be going late night shopping - muppet - why didn't he just do as he was told??? Advice - have a whole blimmin' pack of them to save you the worry...

Am starting to get a bit grumpy now...off to skulk quietly for a while...C

NatalieJane · 30/11/2006 07:50

Cal, how's it going this morning?

I expect Debbsy is well on her way to holding her LO now!!! How excited must she be feeling now?!!!

I have been up all night, managed a couple of hours worth of dozing on the sofa bu tthat is it, someone suggested sex last night to see if it would get him shifting, it upped the contractions but this morning they have more or less gone again! So yet another wasted nights sleep!

But on the bright side of things, DS is up and eating his breakfast so it looks like he might make it back to school today He is so excited to be seeing his friends bless him! I was planning a trip into town, but the weather is blody awful out there, so I might just get down to some major scrubbing instead.

I am now offiacially overdue - how did I get here? I was going into labour at 33 weeks?!!!

No news from HM for a while BTW

Hi all

Spent over 6 hours in the hospital - they wanted to keep me in the antenatal ward again (told you they had a quiet night) but I decided I'd sleep better at home. One mum came into the CDS and had her baby in the length of time it took them to sort me out. Whether waters broke - is inconclusive (that's the main reason we went in) as for contractions - several MW got a feel of them due to shift change and student training. Conclusion I am in early labour - I've just got to wait for them to become more regular/frequent. Came home at midnight and simply went to bed (I was knackered) took paracetamol for the pain. Slept for about three hours before trip to loo - back to bad - major contraction followed quickly by two little ones - then it wore off and I got another two hours sleep. Another trip to loo, another contraction - still no regularity. I'm finding I need to keep a sick bowel nearby at the moment (pinched a couple from the hospital) - I'm planning a bath and another dose of paracetamol and possibly going back to bed - no regularity - just bl**dy annoying pains in pelvis and back, and the odd contraction that takes my breath away and makes me swear like a trooper.

One thing that did happen - and I wonder if anyone else has had it - whilst in hospital (after settling down after wandering around for a bit) Baby moved so violently that DP could see it, than seemed to go 'bang' into my cervix - boy did that make my eyes water. Very uncomfortable - as baby had already fully engaged it seemed very odd. I think baby wants out - so hopefully not too long now. Another conclusion from the experience is that my fears for a big baby are unfounded - initial examination seems to indicate that it's most likely to be a nice 7 to 8 lb one.

Good luck girls! LA

NatalieJane · 30/11/2006 09:14

LA, now is the time for sex, curry, pineapple, walking, nipple stim, scrubbing, my mum swears by digging the garden (set 3 out of 5 off for her!!) but it is bloody horrible out there today, so perhaps not the best idea!

Just spoke to my DH, (to tell him DS went off to school OK - hooooray !!) and I said I was going into town, and he has put the bloody willies up me, he said 'Are you sure that's a good idea?' I said 'Yes, why not?' he said 'I would have thought you'd be better not leaving the house now unless you have to incase anything starts' I was fine until he said it, obviously it does go through your mind what would happen if it did start while I am out on my own, but for crying out loud, I am talking a 5 minute bus journey, not 2 hours away! But now, I am a bit, wouldn't say worried but I don't want to go now! Someone talk some sense into me please?!!! LOL

OP posts:
NatalieJane · 30/11/2006 09:17

Oh, meant to say LA, I don't know exactly what it is he hits, but I do get what feels like the baby hitting against something, it could be my cervix as it is in that sort of area, but I don't know for sure.

OP posts:
calsworld · 30/11/2006 09:17

LA, sounds like we had a very similar night! I had increasingly strong 'somethings' up until about 11.30, then they eased off and I was able to get some sleep but they started again at around 3. I phoned the delivery suite to speak to a midwife cos wasn't sure if I should be trying to sleep or walking around trying to stay active!

She voted sleep, paracetamol, warm baths, sleep....so had a v early bowl of porridge with 2 paracetamol and managed to sleep from about 4 to nearly 8. Hooray!

Still got random somethings this morning and going to the loo sooooo often...but have had hot milky drink and am going to try to get some more sleep..I've had two really bad nights now.

Spoke to mum this morning and she said this is how all three of her labours went, but that she went almost straight from pre-labour to 2nd stage, only spent about 15 mins in 1st stage - is that the memory thing playing tricks on her coz it sounds too good to be true! Hope I take after her though! (And hope I have time to fill the pool!! I've always wanted a water birth!!).

Oh well, need to close eyes and try to sleep, I've got DH working from home again today so at least I'm not doing this on my own...and hopefully, not too much more to cope with.

Thinking of you LA and hope it all moves along for you soon!

NJ, glad your DS is well enough to go back to school today, at least that now gives you some time to get some rest - nevermind scrubbing the floor, watch a film or something! Am loving your other thread - you've made some lovely friends and you all really brought a smile to my face last night when things were starting to get a little tough going...

Charlee, can't wait to come over and join you but think its going to be a while yet!

Sarahlou, I think regardless of whether LO is in or out, by tonight I think I'll be needing to join you in that glass of vino! A nice juicy red one...mmmm....I can taste it already and its only 9.15am !

Kaybee - any news yet? And FHLH, totally missed your announcement, sorry - congratulations and look forward to seeing you 'on t'other side!'.

saralou100 · 30/11/2006 09:20

my computers demented... just wrote a messae then something happened (i didn't touch anything) and it's all gone!!

goodluck LA, as least you know something is happening.. i'm sure your trying all the usual suspects to really get things going... hopefully labour will kick off big time today!! keep us updated!!

nj, sorry your contractions died off again! your body is so well practised now, i bet when you do labour that little boy shoots straight out (no consolation in the meantime i'm sure!)

cal, hope things are on the up for you too!

thats it, the last remaining few as everyone else is off having their baby's!!

i got that weird, gonna start a period type feeling last night (finally a sign) but it's come to nothing...

the full moon is almost here, maybe that will be the end of all of this

calsworld · 30/11/2006 09:21

NJ, only just saw your post, if you really really want to go to town then go, like you say, its not far and you could always grab a cab back if you need to?

Alternatively, if you are really looking for an excuse to put your feet up, without being disturbed and having to run around after anyone, then now's the time to do it! There won't be many opportunities soon!!

C

NatalieJane · 30/11/2006 09:24

Cal, they have all been brilliant on the other thread, I can't believe how they have put up with me on there (and on this one as well, I seem to be moaning for England at the moment!! )

Fingers crossed one of you will be able to squeeze another November baby out by the end of today

OP posts:
NatalieJane · 30/11/2006 09:27

Sara, I think something has happened to MN in the few days, I don't look while I am typing, so I am sat there typing away, go to press send and then realise that the cursor isn't in the box, so I have totype it all again! Maybe it is just me being thick!! LOL

Cal, I do want to go, (the gales and rain are a little off putting, but they are never as bad down in the town as they are up here) but he has planted that bloody seed in my mind now!

OP posts:
LadyAnne1stTimeMum · 30/11/2006 10:12

Hello again

I'm having trouble with Mn as well - several times I've typed a capital letter and it won't pick it up... Maybe I'm not focused right. Feel very very sick - I am eating and drinking as I've been told to keep the level of nausea down - but every time a 'something' happens I feel like I'm going to throw. The girls from work are sending me encouraging mesages and have everything crossed for me - which is nice, not sure how to reply to them though.

Had a quick peek on the other threads - it's strange seeing all those names that used to be so active on this one - lets hope the remaining November mums get to join them soon (and none of us will end up a billy no mates on this one)...

Time to stick together! Good luck everyone
LA

saralou100 · 30/11/2006 10:34

i thought it was just my 'puter... enlightning!!

nj, go into town, it'll get you out the house, distract you from whatever, and hopefully get that baby moving!! people keep saying these things to me when ido eventually leave the house, but what can we do? spend the next 2 weeks sitting around waiting, twiddling our thumbs? or try and keep a little bit normal? (well as normal as a person can be at 40 weeks!)

DebbsyandBibby · 30/11/2006 11:04

Well ladies here i am again thanks for good wishes but bibby didnt want to come last nite..
got to hospital as still contracting every 5 mins they agreed i was in established labour put me in a progress room.with a ball beanbag mat etc after 7 hours i was still contracting at 5 mins v painful but they werent getting any closer together,so for te sake of dh (who hasnt slept since 1am yesterday morning) i asked them to examine me cervix very soft but only just about open so they gave me some pain killers after i asked to go home.So here i am in early labour just waiting for lo to decide whwn he wants to make his grand entrance he clearly does not want to be rushed.Sort of glad he didnt come last nite really as isaid to dh i was far to tired to even try to push a bibbles out.xxxxxxx
Will keep you all posted but hopefully it wont be too longs now as everything seems to be heading in the right direction still got pains today so doubt ill be around very much.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

DebbsyandBibby · 30/11/2006 11:15

nj glad your sons better i would go into town just to take your mind off things
cal hope things are starting to progress for you.
Sara hopefully the full moon will bring them all at once then we can all be sat at home cuddling our lo's.
la we seem to be mirroring one another, one things for sure im not going to hospital until these contractions are 3 mins apart or im climbing the walls with pain and screaming for gas n air.
catch you all later xx

fondant4000 · 30/11/2006 11:50

Hi, well I'm still here too! (due 24 Nov).

I've had a couple of bhs, some pains, but no contractions Have booked me for cs on Monday when I'll be 40+10 (due to previous cs, will not induce). Lucklily I managed to persuade them not to do it tomorrow (apparently 40 +6 is standard procedure).

DD has horrendous cold with fever and continuous coughing for 4 days, so have been up most nights and holding her (no wonder the LO doesn't want to come!).

Today she's not coughing (hurrah) so hopefully on the mend.

Really don't want cs, but not sure this one is ever going to arrive otherwise!
