congrats fhlh
im v v grumpy today cant seem to snap out of it.

saralou100 · 28/11/2006 11:07

funnily enough, no jealousy here, would rather not be known as the woman who got her dp to sniff her pad!!

i think you should consider doing mn's first live birth though!! you'll have thousands of women posting PUSH at the same time!!

Kaybee7777 · 28/11/2006 11:10

Congratulations fhlh, well done. Details please

Well I am feeling like most of you guys, emotions all over the place. I can't believe it's almost the end of Nov and still no baby - I was due 9 days ago! It's not fair.

Keep losing bits of show (sorry tmi ) but nothing else at all seems to be happening, except a few BH.

Am going ahead with induction tomorrow so all going well I may still have a Nov baby!

Good luck to everyone else
xx

NatalieJane · 28/11/2006 11:13

If I can the keyboard set up on the edge of the pool somehow, then I probably will!! LOL

I am actually planning on MN being a major part of the distraction for pain relief! At least in the earlier stages, I know it sounds sad, but there are some people on here that really have helped me through these last 6/7 weeks with all of the contractions and everything, I would feel like I've let them down if I didn't keep everyone informed!! Besides, how else will I be able to make such a tit of myself again if not in the throws of labour?!!! LOL

....And he didn't sniff the pad, just my fingers....!! LOL

harrogatemum · 28/11/2006 11:14

NJ - i am with you on the pad sniffing - it could have been describing me when I had first show on SAturday - shouted for DH to "come and look at this!". When I told my BF, she sounded disgusted that I had shown him, but FGS he has seen me give birth to twins!

NatalieJane · 28/11/2006 11:15

Kaybee, I don't know if I am or for you! I guess even if it comes about in a way that you didn't really want, by the end of tomorrow, you will be holding your new baby, and that is the most important thing to remember through it all.

OP posts:
NatalieJane · 28/11/2006 11:18

LOL HM, see I am not the only person who likes to share everything with DH then!! LOL

I remember after I had DS I lost a huge blood clot, no one had warned me that that could and does happen so obviosuly I was a bit worried when this thing the size of England fell onto the bathroom floor, DH had a good old poke around in it and decided all was well with it being dried blood, LOL He isn't bothered in the slightest!! And yet I would die of embarressment if he ever saw me going for a wee or heard me fart LMAO!!!

OP posts:
saralou100 · 28/11/2006 11:21

nj, thats not how the story will be told in the future.. chinese whispers and all that!!

kaybee, goodluck tomorrow.. your having a boy aren't you? once he's here it won't matter what you had to do to get him here iyswim! you'll be having the most precious cuddle of your life! (i'm welling up here)

saralou100 · 28/11/2006 11:28

do you lot not keep anything sacred?

I've never recovered from the fact that i poo'd in front of dp when pushing out ds... telling cyber world is one thing, i'm not having him sniff my pad, or my fingers! or showing him anything!

(he is under strict instructions, if i poo again he is to deny all knowledge.. conversation to go like this.. sara says "dp did i poo?" dp shakes head very enthusiastically and says "no, absolutely not, no way!" )

NatalieJane · 28/11/2006 11:38

See how can you be precious about a smell when your DP saw you poo???!!! LOL

OP posts:
saralou100 · 28/11/2006 11:49

(covering my ears shouting 'lalalala can't hear you!!!')

harrogatemum · 28/11/2006 11:49

I must be the worst then as DH sees me do everything and vice versa.

Kaybee7777 · 28/11/2006 11:53

Thanks NJ and Sara. You're right, as long as I arrive home with our baby boy in my arms that is the most important thing

My DH has been warned he may see some gross things, but he's taking it pretty well.

Am just off for a walk, still have about 18 hours to try and get this baby out naturally!!!

NatalieJane · 28/11/2006 12:03

Midwife has just rang, she asked if I could go down to the surgery tomorrow (because I cancelled todays appointment) so I said well as long as DS is back at school tomorrow and I am still on the mend, and asked her what time she wanted me there and she said well hang on my screen isn't working, I'll ring you back... why did she ring if she knew she couldn't see the screen?!!! Silly woman!!

OP posts:
calsworld · 28/11/2006 14:00

NJ - have you inflated your bpinab yet? Which size did you go for?

We found a hole in ours but its between the walls of the rings, not the wall and the outside so its not a crises - I've rung them and they are sending another for delivery tomorrow and have told me to hang onto this one, coz it is useable, until I've got the other one set up....they were more worried about the fact that due date is Friday than anything else...very good service...no arguments...nothing.

Photographer is on her way back round, a couple of shots haven't come out quite as she wanted them too so she wants to do them again - really looking forward to the company...I've only done two weeks and two days on leave and I'm starting to go a bit potty! Oh, she's arrived....must go and be model like !

C

NatalieJane · 28/11/2006 14:07

Yep, we have fully inflated the two bottom rings and left the top one just particially inflated so we can get the liner in nice and quickly.

I haven't had any reason to ring them, but others have said how good they are at sorting things out quickly without fuss. I suppose they have to be though, something like that goes by word of mouth really doesn't it?

Have fun with the photographer

just returned from madwife lady... baby has finally moved down a bit 4/5ths engaged, hooray!! everything else is fine... booked for a internal on friday, madwife lady coming here to do it, so very convenient!

has anyone noticed that heartbeat is a bit slower? it sounded slower today than it normally does, madwife wasn't worried, or she didn't say anything (paranoid brain)..

NatalieJane · 28/11/2006 15:02

Sara, I also thought the heartbeat sounded slower last week, but the midwife said it was fine and I just put it down to him being a bit bigger really. I suppose as well, once they start to engage their circulation must be affected, not enough to be worryingly slow obviously, but you would think it would be slightly restricted? That is only me thinking out loud though really, I haven't read or heard anything about it.

OP posts:
saralou100 · 28/11/2006 15:24

hmm, interesting theory.. i'm just finding something to worry over probably.. baby's moving fine still!

phoned dp to tell him about appointment and started crying.. i'm such a tit at times,w hen he asked what was wrong i had no explanation... damn these hormones!!

LadyAnne1stTimeMum · 28/11/2006 15:30

Hello again

Mn really is a source of support I feel very honoured to have you all to talk to - even it is in cyber space.

Well, I went to see MW - told her everything that's happened to me over the last few days (good job she's patient). I took one of my pads with me - although it's inconclusive to say one way or the other, she was glad I took it in. After the usual examination she told me that the baby's head is so fully engaged that she can't even feel it now. Knew I needed the loo very often - apparently I'll be very lucky if I keep anything in my bladder for more then five minutes. She says that there is a good chance that my waters did break by the way I described them and the reason why I haven't got anything substantial on my pad - and why my discharge seems to have dried up as well, is because baby is so far down it is effectively plugging the gap. In short nothing is going to get out of there until baby does! We still went through the proceedure of booking an induction for December 9th and another appointment with MW next week - but she doubts that I'll keep it. Now we have a waiting game - all that needs to happen now is the hormone to kick in that will open my cervix for baby. I was also told to call the Labour ward - to make sure they know about it - I have to call them again if I feel unwell or anything unusual happens. Baby is being very helpful - wiggling a little and putting pressure on it (feels very peculiar)- baby may be deep in my pelvis, but its certainly quite active. background pain is less focussed on my back and more on my pelvis. I have had quite a few cramps and the odd 'contraction' - still nothing regular - I have just been told to relax, take it easy and let nature take it's course. Mum is looking after me well and DP has promised me a massage when he gets back. Overall I have to let go of my anxiety and reduce tension - time to try meditation methinks.

Will keep you posted.

These last few weeks are so hard, no matter how easy, or how hard the pregnancy has been, by this time everyone just wants to meet their LO so much, there are bound to be tears along the way.

OP posts:
NatalieJane · 28/11/2006 15:35

Good luck LA

I really must do some more reading up, I have always been under the impression that once the waters have started to leak or have gone, it was pretty much counting down for 96 hours and then if nothing they would induce because of the risk of infection, but with yours and Debbsys stories, it seems they are't so bothered now when the waters go? Because of the home birth I only get 24 hours after my waters go to get the baby delivered else I have to have him in hospital, so is it another one of those things that differs from county to county?

OP posts:
LadyAnne1stTimeMum · 28/11/2006 15:45

Hi NJ

Don't know whether it varies from county to county or what - the general consensis from the MW's here seems to be that I should have a baby in my arms by the end of the week. I do recall being up at the maternity unit when one young mum was tearfully and loudly complaining on her mobile that 'My waters broke two days ago and they still won't do anything'. So there is a feeling that they aren't duly concerned - maybe it's just the home birth situation that adds a countdown (I saw something on telly about a woman who was having a home birth and was counting down as her waters had broken several days before and they were going to get her in hospital if she didn't deliver within 76 hours). I only live 15 minutes from the hospital so perhaps if I feel unwell - that is the hint that there is an infection and I can be whisked straight in.

It's all a bit of a mystery to me - this pregnancy lark ...

Good luck LA

NatalieJane · 28/11/2006 15:54

Hmm, I will ask my midwife tomorrow, see if she can shed some light.
