congrats lubella.

Loulou000 · 20/12/2006 18:09

Congratulations to all of you with babies!

I'm too tired to catch up on all the posts just now, but just wanted to say I had Annabelle Rose by c-section on Monday and am now home, hurrah. She's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.

I hope everyone who is still waiting is doing ok.

accessorizechristmas · 21/12/2006 10:46

Congrats to loulou and lubella, wonderful news for you both. Everytime I come on here, somebody else has dropped a sprog!
To all those still pg, sympathies! I went through masses of gaviscon in the last two weeks, perhaps it's a sign spina
I think Elliot has got colic (ds1 had it so I know the signs) so have just gone from fairly easy baby to nightmare. Sigh. He's lovely when he's not screaming though...

weirdbird · 21/12/2006 13:58

Hi All

Spina - You sound just like I feel, I have had accupuncture but if bump isnt ready it wont actually bring on labour. Mine came to nothing....

Just can't contemplate sex anymore, as long as it doesnt actually try and arrive on Xmas Day I am starting to not care, have had no contractions all week so far, which is bizarre after having so many the 2 weeks previously, oh well {hmm}

The really strange thing is, that I am now getting really apprehensive about giving birth in a way that I havn't been.

jennie80 · 21/12/2006 14:10

I know how you feel. I'm due December the 18th, the baby has dropped really low but nothing seems to be happening. Got a feeling he is going to make an apearance christmas day, but my parnter Dave is really paranoid and is on edge all the time, thinking i'm going to go into labour any second. Saying that i'm getting a braxton hicks contraction as i'm writing.

Indith · 21/12/2006 14:36

Congratulations for Loulou and lubella!

MW came round today, baby moving in right direction apparently which is nice to know! Still getting stupidly impatient mind you though I still have a whole week til D-day! Fed up of feeling sick every time I bend over and of getting those odd little pains all round my lower back and pelvic area when I go to the loo (and that includes peeing too so not just a lack of prunes!)

Anyway I shall now be good, stop complaining and wait for my due date like a good girl. I have Christmas to enjoy now so Bump can stay put!

Hormones are odd things. Had a fight with DP over potatoes of all things the other day but today I broke my one and only vase and gashed my hand quite badly while doing it and it just doesn't matter (but the fact that I've not cleaned that bathroom yet because of the gash really really does matter.....)

northernmama · 21/12/2006 15:07

Morning all! Threads pretty quiet overall, so I'm hopeful that everyone is on about the christmas crazies, or shopping or even just trudging round the neigborhood trying to inspire labor...

It's about 8 AM here, and I think I'll bundle the kids up and walk until this baby falls out!! Had membranes stripped yesterday AND some nooky to boot, but still pg this AM.

Am quite uncomfortable and have had lots of show, so maybe today?........

northernmama · 21/12/2006 15:09

congratulations to loulou and lubella!!

Hope everyone else is hanging in there... ran into an old friend who said a capful of castor oil did the trick to start labor with both of her kids!!!!

Seriously thinking about it!

Devongirl · 21/12/2006 16:08

Bleugh am sick of pineapple! Today I have tried a walk, pineapple, used my breast pump (very odd feeling!), gardening and a hot bath, but nothing yet! Trying not to get as I know he'll come when he's ready but it's hard!

Ho hum...

spinasnowflake · 21/12/2006 16:58

congrat loulou

have a collection of pinapples rotting in my kitchen as I type. Heartburn is too bad to even think about pineapple at mo!!And I'm sick of it. Should really eat some though.

Had to pop up to hospital yesterday as Beanie hadn't moved much all day(Not that I'd actually noticed as I'd been doing other stuff but then at 6pm suddanly realised "no movement all day"(How bad a mum am i?) So I got popped onto a monitor and no surprises,Bean spent an hour jumping around with a perfect heart trace to show for it. My DH then got put through the embarassment of the midwives lecturing him the only way to get a baby out was the same way you get them in!! So we obviously followed orders this morning Then I went shopping and drop off some goodies to work(as I refuse to do Xmas cards for the sake of it and I've run out of time to have a baby and add his name to them!) I hoped the stress of busy high street and bags(containing mat notes, bottles of water, some yummy treats to get me through being overdue with the ILs next week and a few last bits and pieces) would bring labour on. No luck!!

I've actually got to the stage that although I'd love LO asap,I'm now concentrating on NOT having him at a time that will prevent me seeing DS1 open his presents. So any other time will suit me even if it's Jan 7th! I've given up!!!!

stokeymonkey · 21/12/2006 17:42

funny, spina - i feel exactly the same way!
am due on the 28th but am scared stiff I'll have Beastie at xmas - I know i should have reconciled myself to the fact by now, but somehow it still feels all wrong...i'm keeping my legs crossed till early jan, if I don't go totally insane first..

TheOlihantheIvy · 21/12/2006 22:19

Snap Spina and Stokey. I've hit the 'well if it's not here by Friday then it can wait until after New Year' frame of mind. It's my 30th on Saturday and we've booked to go to a very nice restaurant with friends so I don't want to miss that. Then obviously it's Xmas, then it's ds's b'day on New Year's eve and I don't want to miss that either. So it's New Years Day onwards, thank you very much!

Can't remember who I've said congratulations to, but lots of congrats to lubella and loulou on your little girls. We seem to be quite girl heavy at the moment and we're nearly halfway through the list!

Hope everyone's feeling okayish and not too fed up.

mishelfish · 21/12/2006 23:58

hi everyone

i'm due tomorrow and was convinced into thinking he was going to come early by everyone so am now feeling a bit frustrated! i always thought he was going to come on the 27th or 29th anyway so really i am just going to try to get on with partners birthday on sat and xmas and hope that he holds off now! having said that, have just finished cleaning the kitchen and bathroom floors for no reason so maybe he will turn up soon.....

all i want for christmas is a big piece of brie and pate and some prawns..... mmmmm

Dingdongdebbsyandbibbyonhigh · 22/12/2006 09:39

Spina still keep checking on you hun xx

northernmama · 22/12/2006 21:26

Hi everyone, just a quick scribble to let you know that Kirsten Ada arrived last night!! Dec. 21st. at 9:34 pm. 7 lbs. 8 oz. baby girl just in time for a good old Canadian Christmas!!!!

Completely knackered, so will catch up later!! NM

TheOlihantheIvy · 22/12/2006 21:35

Congratulations Northernmama! 1 hr 45 mins - hope mine is that quick!

Just havin a break from blitzing the kitchen. Don't think it's proper nesting, just don't want to get back from PILs to the current mess that has taken over my house!

Michelfish, just have them, they're not going to mak any difference at this point. I've been eating prawns all the way through this time. MMmmmm! You can have Brie if it's cooked, try baking one in the oven for an hour or so, then dipping warm french bread into it - divine!!

BaileysMilkshake · 22/12/2006 21:40

Congrats NM!

MardyBum · 22/12/2006 22:07

Congratulations Northernmama!

MardyBum · 22/12/2006 22:10

Still no sign of my baby, am 41+3, what's going on!!

Anyway, will be induced on Boxing Day if its still a no show by then. Am seriously starting to wonder if I am really pregnant. Keep telling my dd that her little sister will be coming out of mummy's tummy and living with us in our house very soon, maybe even today. She's starting to give me "yeah, yeah right mum" looks. Such cynicism in a two year old!

mishelfish · 22/12/2006 22:13

i van have brie if its cooked!!???? why has no one told me that? am going to get one tomorrow.
still no sign of a baby though, mw was all " ha ha you`re going to have it on xmas day!!!" i could've killed her! actually she's really nice but didnt tell me anything new or encouraging which is what i wanted. congratulations to all those who have had their xmas presents early this year!

pedilia · 22/12/2006 22:14

Congratulations NM- still nothing for me!!

softymom · 23/12/2006 08:33

Just a quickie to say I've finally had my baby - boy, 4 kg (8lb 9oz?) 11:47 on Sunday Dec 17 - 10 mins before being 14 days overdue . Went into labour naturally and delivered by c-section but totally happy with the whole experience.

Had reverse nesting before labour. Felt v tired and couldn't be bothered to do any cleaning at all (Friday is cleaning day) - just wanted to lie in bed and eat chocolates - so house a tip now.

Good luck to all those still waiting. Drives you mad!...

satinshoes · 23/12/2006 13:06

Congratulations everyone who has had their babies. There is a postnatal thread here if anyone has any energy to chat

northernmama · 23/12/2006 15:12

Hello everyone! I think that yesterday I was still on some kind of high, but this morning (it is morning here in Canada) reality of setting in, and boy am I tired!

Kirsten is beautiful and if I figure out how to attach, I'll add a pictue soon - has hardly cried at all so far, but hasn't eaten much either... I was up most of the night with her again though, so will be anxious to lie down for a nap today.

Will get PHN in to see us sometime today, and am expecting the lecture about waking her to feed every 3 hours, etc....

My other kids are crazy about her too - even my little guy, who I thought might not be very happy about it. For all you others with toddlers, it'll be OK. Even though we know there's bound to be issues, having seen his reaction to her has made me believe that adapting is possible!!!
