Maybe this will really be the last one... until the postnatal one.

just popped on for a sec. so glad to see you are getting a rest Spina. Its hard work with a toddler running around and you sounds like you've really had a hectic time.
I still have tummy ache but feel better knowing that its just heartburn pains. Never thought it could get so uncomfortable.
Dd has last morning at nursery tomorrow(only goes Tues&THurs right morning) but dh is off from Fri so will have an extra pair of hands with her.
I remember having two weeks maternity leave when pregnant with dd and having nothing to do but chill out, it seems like such heaven right now.
But then again I would not be without my little girl desperate to give her present to the baby and telling it to hurry up and come out

spinasnowflake · 13/12/2006 11:01

Had great mug of coffee this morning and am paying the consequences, heartburn wise, now ,but it was really worth it!!

Must get on and do some stuff. Perhaps make some cranberry sauce.

Carameli · 13/12/2006 11:05

oh to have coffee again I cannot wait till this is all over for that. I love a cup of coffee but apart from heartburn I just cannot face it right now as it makes me feel nauseous, its not fair!!!

going to have lunch with dd now and then have a nap while she does:-) luckily she still loves her midday nap.

judemum · 13/12/2006 11:08

congrats to all the new mums- satin, beaker, indie..can't quite keep up!!! we're doing fine here. need to work out how to post a piccy of Ewan but he's doing great, although missing the long night's sleeps I had before he arrived. Recovery has been really quick from this birth and am so grateful. managed my first bowel movement the other dsay without feeling my intestines were about to fall out right, off to make mincepies, keep up with all the posts. great to read how you're all doing.....

annaspanner · 13/12/2006 11:21

Spina-I can sympathise with the building work getting you down-it's horrible having an open house when you want to be relaxing, and seeing the place dirty and not being able to do anything about it wehn you just want to be nesting. This is my first baby though so I must say how amazed I am that so many of you are doing the whole pregnancy thing AND coping with DCs and their reaction to it all. It sounds like you are doing really well. Don't lose heart...and really enjoy this time on your own, just doing nothing!

Bebespain-I?m sure you?ve done the right thing. Being overdue isn?t pleasant but when they gave me the choice today of waiting 2 more days or starting the drip, it didn?t take me long to decide. And I had no real pains or anything until after they examined me Monday, but was already 2cm dilated. So something (of the many things I tried) must have worked. Nothing happening today though-gonna try walking later!
Where are you in Spain?

Olihan, you are right, my last post sounded a bit negative (but I felt so sorry for that poor couple sharing our room)...it was actually a really positive experience because I feel so calm about it all now. I finally feel ready, for the first time in 9 months (a bit excited even). And if she doesn?t arrive before induction tomorrow, well, that?s the way it was meant to happen.

Calmriver · 13/12/2006 11:58

DD just dropped her canvas painting on DD2's head. GRRR! I know it wasn't meant, she just chucked it over her shoulder....it's a big canvas too. Poor little one had a quick little cry!

Had a whole 2 hours sleeplast night! I am so tired!

bebespain · 13/12/2006 12:03

I'm going to try some more walking too this aft. I am desperate for this baby to come by itself but hey don't suppose it's up to me. Feeling better about refusing the induction today but have hardly felt anything, just the odd twinge so not holding out too much hope...
Anna - I'm in Ronda - sending lots of positive birthing vibes to you and everyone else overdue!

lorie · 13/12/2006 13:41

Hiya everyone, I'm still here and still pg!! Due Friday but no sign of anything yet!

Good luck and congrats to fellow mnetters

Thinking of you all

Devongirl · 13/12/2006 13:53

Having a real fed up day today - I can't wait for baby now. Turning over at night is such a disgusting feeling, is anyone else feeling that? You feel like the ligaments have relaxed because you've been on one side for a few hours, so when you turn it just feels horrible. I couldn't sleep during the night so had a lie in but then woke up in a foul mood. I am angry with myself because I am happy and not even overdue yet, but just getting moody and feel stuck in my house. Grrrrrr

x

lorie · 13/12/2006 14:11

Devongirl, yep I am feeling like you too. I really am just waiting...what I really need is to do something to take my mind of it.

Should I return to work?! (Ha- only joking)

annaspanner · 13/12/2006 15:09

Bebespain-Lucy5 and I both live in Estepona but if you're are in Ronda there is a chance you are going to the Costa del Sol hospital too...no!, that would be too weird, the 3preg ladies on this thread who live in Spain, all using the same hospital.....you must be somewhere nearer Ronda. Shame though, because (and Lucy will back me up) the two male midwives there are gorgeous!

northernmama · 13/12/2006 15:10

Hello all! Have been catching up on the thread...congrats to all our new mummies Hooray!!

After a bit of a scare and a false alarm, I'm here to say still pg! Just over a week until due date now, and since my hubby is away this weekend, really don't want the LO to arrive!

Extremely tired of being pg at this point, and am terrible mum to my other 2!

No sign of BM yet hey.... there must be a baby then!!!

northernmama · 13/12/2006 15:14

"Sleeping" is something I have not done in days.... part of that is me the elephont trying to get comfortable and my ds has been sick again and is coughing in the night. Between him, getting up to pee, and trying to turn over, I must be getting up about 8 times per night.

It's really not great for ones moods...

northernmama · 13/12/2006 15:27

( music from all I want for Christmas is my two front teeth...

)All I want for Christmas is my wee ba - by, my wee ba - by, oh, my wee ba - by.

All I want for Christmas is my wee ba - by, and I would wish you Merry Christmas!!!

Way too much time to think!! Having a morning off, but still had to be up at 7:30 to help hubby get the kids off to the sitter! Now of course can't get back to sleep...

Maybe I'll have a bath and try to shave my hairy legs!

annaspanner · 13/12/2006 16:05

Yep, turning over at night has become more and more painful. However, last nite and even the night before in a noisy shared room in hospital, have been the best nite's sleep I've had in ages. And today, all I can do is run around and clean the house-total energy spurt. Maybe at nearly 2 weeks overdue my body has finally decided enough is enough. I feel great actually. Well great compared to a week ago, not compared to my nonpregnant self obviously. What a difference a bit of sleep makes. I'm not snapping at everyone. My brother changed his daily 'any news?' message today to 'push' in a weak attempt at humour. And even that didn't piss me off.
And, after 2months of lies and hassle from an Ebay seller(for some wall stickers for the nursery), I won my Paypal dispute!

SHELL2006 · 13/12/2006 16:15

Hi All, was wondering if I could have some advice from someone??? when i went to see my Dr 3 weeks ago he said DD head was half engaged, at my MW appt last week she said the head was on the brim, so basically had popped out, but today & yeseterday i am having a pulling/tugging sensation down below just by my pubic bone, it feels quite heavy, is this her head engaging again or is something else happening?? Thanks x

TheOlihantheIvy · 13/12/2006 16:25

Sympathetic at rolling over in bed! Every time I turn over dh wants to know what's wrong because I grunt so much! It's a god job we haven't got a water bed or he'd be bounced out several times a night!

Spina, I have so much sympathy for you. I still have some vivid memories of a couple of unbelieveably awful days with ds when I was pg with ds and in the early weeks after dd was born. Sleep deprivation, hormones and stroppy toddlers do NOT mix. I was the same as you and had this rose tinted idea of what it would be like and the reality was so different. Fortunately my ds has a very short memory and would be back for cuddles and kisses in a very short time. Just be nice to yourself, accept that it's going to happen and move on from it. It won't do him any harm in the long run, or affect his relationship with his new brother or sister, so try not to give yourself anything more to feel guilty about! Hope you've had a relaxing day with ds at nursery and are feeling a bit better about things.

ELM, I know it's a bit late but good luck, hope you are holding your baby very soon.

castlesintheair · 13/12/2006 16:35

(((( HUGS ))))) Spina. Hope you are having a better day today.

Good luck ELM.

Good luck to everyone else too

SHELL2006 · 13/12/2006 16:47

Sorry meant to say I am 39 weeks, also am I posting on the wrong thread, am a newbie to this!!

BaileysMilkshake · 13/12/2006 17:47

Hi All,

X-posts sorry.

Would like to annouce the safe arrival of baby Dylan Edward born 11.02pm on Tuesday 12th December weight 8lb 1.5oz.

Mummy was sent to day assessment with high BP on Monday 1th, and kept in with a view to induction the following day. 1 pessary inserted at 3.15pm, strong contractions led to birth within 8 hours.

longer and sorer than DD - who the devil said they get easier! has a lot of stitches and

Calmriver · 13/12/2006 17:49

For all you preggars that aren't getting much sleep............

It's ALL just preparation!!!!!You'll more than likely get EVEN less in the next few weeks!

Baconbaps · 13/12/2006 17:58

Oh many congrats BM! Well done and welcome to Dylan - love the names btw! We guessed you were busy! Hope you're ok and glad all went relatively smoothly.

SHELL - welcome and yes, you're on the right thread if you're still waiting! Not sure about the head engagement thing tbh. Sounds like it's well down and bouncing on the nerves though which is a feeling that always sets my teeth on edge! If you're worried though I'd ring MW or maternity unit for more advice.

bebespain · 13/12/2006 17:59

Oh turning over at night.....me too. The clicks and clacks makes me feel about 100, DH reckons I need some WD40...However, apart from the sleep thing I really mustn't complain in every other aspect I feel fine
Anna - I'm sooo envious...dishy male midwives (swoons out loud) Unfortunately for me Ronda has its own hospital, pretty small but just round the corner which is very handy.

Indith · 13/12/2006 18:16

Hi Shell welcome to the waiting list!

Congrats to BM

Had our last aquanatal class before the pool shuts for christmas today. Most of us are due over the Christmas break so was all discussion about what mum and baby groups we would be going to and if we would see each other there! I'm going to miss my weekly float and gossip sessions!

On the plus side Dp is getting better at back massage. Wonder if I should be naughty and start using clary sage..........

satinshoes · 13/12/2006 18:26

Congrats to BM - welcome Dylan.

Welcome Shell. In the right place.

Bit too much to catch up on but good luck anyone waiting.....

I've found that I'm sleeping better now I've had the baby even if it is only short bursts of 2 hours or so.
