Maybe this will really be the last one... until the postnatal one.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
castlesintheair · 22/11/2006 17:19

Err, yes DD, it's a load of ole bolleaux, hence all the !!!

dublindee · 22/11/2006 17:23

I tried to do the grins but it didn't work for me.
Ah well.... still dreaming about roast lamb. Anybody want to send me up some to north wales perchance?

Carameli · 22/11/2006 18:52

I am doing roast lamb as I type with lovely roast potatoes and sweet potatoes and lots of mint sauce, now just need my dh to hurry on home.
Feeling totally exhausted today, dd(3yrs) was just hyper for most of the day and a real pain when we were out shopping, going to have to start using the toddler wrist strap again I think as she can out run me now.
On a happier note she is a sheep in her 1st Christmas play next week, can't wait

I am suffering from terrible heartburn and nausea these days. Drinking gavisocn like its going out of fashion.

accessorizequeen · 22/11/2006 19:11

The taste of gaviscon almost worse than the heartburn it solves, carameli! Am so thoroughly sick of slugging it a dozen or more times a day.
How're you guys with lo's managing to produce roast meals???? I made meatballs today (which I couldn't face eating after being near raw meat) for dinner, just about killed me I want to go to bed now but obviously have mumsnet to surf first. Took ds to waitrose for lunch coz even producing sandwiches these days is too much effort. Clearly am lazy mother of 1st degree as do not have spd or any complications to deal with
Have 1st proper day off tomorrow with ds at nursery, so best pack that bag! Course I may have finished work, but still have loads left to do & have to go into the office again or work from home. Jabber, I hope the reduced hours helps, I do think it's appalling what they did to you.
Welcome mamatuk!

Gatecrasher alert
I know it's a bit late for a newbie to join.... I'm from the January thread, but they are going to induce at 34 weeks.. which is 11th December.

Is it ok to sneak over here occasionally?

Hi Magnolia!

Calmriver · 22/11/2006 20:09

Hi All, been having BH all day too. I feel so much worse after food.

Wow, 36 is full term and we're pretty much all there now! I am 37 weeks now and feel like I should start carry around spare clothes with me. Had a thought the other day about my waters breaking in the street...in the cold.

Carameli · 22/11/2006 20:12

hi ELM, welcome and hope you are feeling well. I am due on 17th but a little bit of me would not mind a few days earlier.

Ac, well I don't work so I don't have to worry about rushing hoe to make a meal, would certainly be different then I think.
I lvoe doing roasts, think they are so easy once the prep bit is done, the oven takes care of the rest

Olihan · 22/11/2006 20:13

Hello, ELM and mumatuks, hope you are quick readers or have a lot of spare time, this lot can double the length of a thread in minutes!!

Mumatuks, glad there's someone else on here as brave/mad as me. I've got ds who is 3 on 31/12, dd who has just turned 15 months and dc3 is also (supposedly) my last. Do you find people give you VERY strange looks when you're out with 2 dcs plus bump? I was getting really paranoid that I had something on my face then realised everyone was looking and thinking 'you must be mad' or 'have you never heard of contraception, love?' We can share coping strategies on the post natal thread!

ELM, sorry to be nosy, but I'm sure everyone else will ask too, why are they inducing you at 34 weeks?

Having just added the newbies to the due dates list, I noticed that we're due to have a baby on every day in Dec except the 18th, 22nd, 29th, 30th, 31st. I think our challenge should be to have one for each day - some of us Boxing Day girls should be able to fill up the 29th - 31st. It could be a mumsnet record!

Yes, okay, I need to get out more .

ELM · 22/11/2006 20:29

My waters broke at 27 weeks, and have been in hospital couple of times since then as they are worried about infection/early labour.
A couple of factors like high pulse rate, and ever decreasing iron levels, coupled with the fact that I had the steroid injctions so early mean they feel he would be better off outside than inside.
All the talk about roast dinners is making me hungry and DP has just polished off leftover pork! My big craving is pate...first timer question..When can I start eating it again if I want to BF?

accessorizequeen · 22/11/2006 20:33

Ashamed to admit have never cooked a roast...only learn to cook a bit when ds needed weaning, up until then I had cereal for dinner or dp cooked! Still find it really hard to cook for a family, and yes I suppose working 3 days makes it harder, I don't get home until 6 after picking ds up. Planning to spend a bit of mat leave figuring out meal planning as I'm sure that would help as I will never be natural cook. Panicking a bit over feeding 2 children plus dp & myself in kitchen size of closet, ds currently perches on sink draining unit, where will bean go?? My meatballs and spaghetti, with homemade sauce, went down quite well though...
It's nice to have some time to be back on here (in between winning ebay sales, just about to buy a folding crib for bean, I hope, won a sleeping bag half an hour ago!). Someone said about pnd the other day, I think just having the support on here is enough to make a difference for me this time, I felt so alone & such an awful mother last time.

VanillaMilkshake · 22/11/2006 20:41

Hey All,

Hi Elm, welcome!

The sex predicotr was 48% girl if I answered one way to needle question and 48% boy is I answered the other way (could'nt be asked to search out an actual needle and thread)- and 48 is a very middle of the road thing. So just as confused as ever! And what the blazes was the "has your nose spread" question about???

Roast was lovely esp as the chicken was a ready stuffed joint from Teso with no bones - made for 4-6 people DH and I finished it between us. DD had 2 mouthfuls, but doesnt really like roast chicken, or potatoes or anything that I put on her plate - although offer her McD's or KFC and she's quite happy . But after carefu negociation I managed to get her to eat two pieces of roast potato, to bits of chicken and a mouthfu of stuffing. Where after she went of to retreive cocktail sausages from the fridge followed by a slice of bread and butter - at least she ate!

Have just wrapped all DD's small pressies from Dh and me and her pressies from bump. Back is killing me!

lucy5 · 22/11/2006 21:00

Hola,

Sorry i haven't been around, my internet is down! Anyway, my news is that I am going in to be induced tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG I knew it was coming but I am still in shock. As usual I am completely unorganised but c'est la vie. i am fine but hospital is concerned about big baby, blood pressure etc I am 38 weeks so it's no big problem. I just can't believe that by this time tomorrow I will possibley be a mother of 2.

Anyway best wishes to all and I will keep you posted. Thanks for all your advice and support and good luck with your own births. Thinking of you Eli as you are next on the hit list xxxxxxx

magnolia1 · 22/11/2006 21:00

VanillaMilkshake · 22/11/2006 21:02

Oh Lucy - good luck, will be thinkning of you!

Also good luck Magnolia - you can only ask and they can only say no - but hopefully, given what's going on with you they will say yes.

(()) hugs to you both

VanillaMilkshake · 22/11/2006 21:05

You see, you see! When you lot talk about orgasms it;s okay, when my normal midwife does, it's okay - but the other one....I just dont want to hear it!

Apart from tickling my back DH is scared to come near me in case I go into labour . Dont wanna have to go DIY - but if it's a means to an end

weirdbird · 22/11/2006 21:06

Lucy

Your gonna be a mummy again

Really hope it all goes well and hope you find some way of letting us know how it all went

lucy5 · 22/11/2006 21:07

I am in shock and denial!!!!!!!!

weirdbird · 22/11/2006 21:08

VM - Have discovered my shower is very good for DIY and apparently though dont ask me where I read it, even DIY is meant to help the body prepare...

The sacrifices we have to make

weirdbird · 22/11/2006 21:10

Magnolia - Really hope they listen to your concerns and bring it forward..

If we dont hear from you, shall assume they have kept you in!!

VanillaMilkshake · 22/11/2006 21:14

I have a DIY secret weapon - helped me conceive too I think - both time (in the way that an orgasm after sex helps catapult the sperm in to you) - but not gonna share as is just way too even DH doesnt know!

VanillaMilkshake · 22/11/2006 21:28

Oh Hell, I've gone and killed our brind new thread Ignore my last post - keep talking....please

ELM · 22/11/2006 21:34

VanillaMilkshake: Tell us! Sex is a distant memory to me,banned by the midwife almost a month ago..

Magnolia/Lucy5 good luck tomorrow
