Am massaging my reflexology points just in case...

Carameli · 07/12/2006 11:18

we've also had a major hailstorm, down in Ashtead, Surrey and yes beutiful sunshine now.
I was listening to my hypno cd imagining myself on a beach[fmsile] and heard the hail. this weather is so strange.

weirdbird · 07/12/2006 11:54

isn't it just, am having contractions but quite far apart, at least 20 min.

After having had weaker ones on and off for the last 2 weeks am not celebrating yet, but hubby is on alert, so won't vanish off for a 2 hour meeting, which is re-assuring.

Am due to see the Accupuncturist at 1.30pm so hopefully that will help them along a bit!!

Either that or the bump is pre-empting me!

Carameli · 07/12/2006 12:18

will keep my fingers crossed for you wierdbird. I have been having really strong bh's and lots of lower back pain type contractions in the evening but then they just disappear ts so frustrating, have been deliverately going over all the speed bumps around here, there are lots of them

Indith · 07/12/2006 13:31

Well Its all go around here isn't it!

My birthing boxes arrived today, can I have my baby now?

Must remember to buy some cheap sheets....

satinshoes · 07/12/2006 14:12

weirdbird, i'm the same. lots of contrax in the evening about 15-20 mins apart then nothing....

dublindee · 07/12/2006 14:56

GOOD LUCK WEIRDBIRD!!!!

dublindee · 07/12/2006 14:56

GOOD LUCK WEIRDBIRD!!!!

softymom · 07/12/2006 15:25

hello all! first time to catch up in ages.

Olihan - thank you for your statistic inserts - invaluable to those of us who can't keep up.

Still waiting, so of all you who have already popped - congratulations and well done!

Been enjoying reading about inlaws. When we had dd I discovered we hadn't had one child - we had in fact had 5 - the baby plus the four grandparents. Now that we treat them all like toddlers life is a bit easier. At least now I'm online nobody can all to ask if I've had the baby yet.

So good to have somewhere to come for a bit of a grump . Good luck to all if I don't get back on again before the thread goes post-natal.

weirdbird · 07/12/2006 15:26

Well am back safely from the Accupuncture and now just need to wait and see, have another sessions booked for the 12th as well.

Did anyone see the news that what we felt with the wind/hail weird weather was probably the edge of the tornado they had in North London?

stokeymonkey · 07/12/2006 15:32

don't know about a tornado, but it might as well have been - it started up just as I set foot outside the hairdressers in Reigate and wrecked my lovely new 'do. Got completely soaked too!!

Good luck WB. Am v, v, v that you might be on the brink!
I just KNOW I'm still going to be pg in blimmin January. Another month of feeling like a heffalump. Aaaargh!

dublindee · 07/12/2006 15:37

If anyone else asks me how I feel and then say "ooh you'll have your hands full" I'm gonna smeck 'em!

BaileysMilkshake · 07/12/2006 16:07

Have had a bit of sleep - got cross at MIL who told DH I had already slept (dozed on sofa) when he told me to go to bed. DD is getting fed up too, actually came with me for an afternoon nap - said she was going to watch Mary Poppins on the portable DVD but actually fell asleep within 10 minutes!

No signs of anything yet WB - how you doing?

Hope no one on here suffered any damage from the tornado!

dublindee · 07/12/2006 16:10

FFS Baileys so what if you HAD been dozing. You're heavily pregnant and bound to feel shattered, at your MIL for you!

Am off downstairs to sort out my pineapple!

3 days to go.......

northernmama · 07/12/2006 16:12

Morning all!! Ha ha its late afternoon in the UK but only 9:00 am here... though it already feels as if I've been awake for a really long time. I'm so tired, today I just can hardly get going. Seriously thnking about some caffeine just to jump start me day!!

Congrats to the new arrivals!!! Great news!! Wish it was me. I'm now 37 +6, and finally this baby is beginning to act as if it may arrive in the next month.... At least I've just started to dilate (a very little bit), and baby is at -2. "Progress" I suppose! It didn't make a darn bit of difference with the other two - I was 2 com dilated and 85% effaced for two weeks prior to the birth of each of them!!!

northernmama · 07/12/2006 16:15

good luck to WB!! Will keep all my stuff crossed for her...

Olihan - haven't heard much from you - are you OK?

BM - just ignore her...she probably can't remember how tired one feels when she is busy GROWING a new PERSON inside her AND looking after a little one. And from the sounds of things, you seem to be looking after her a great deal too if you're cooking her meals for her!!! Shouldn't that be the other way around??

BaileysMilkshake · 07/12/2006 16:18

Thanks DD & Co for your support of my rants - Dee gonna join you I some pineapple I think.

Due date is now just 20 hours away (I'm not deperate or anything ). I have a 6 years olds birthday party to go to so hopefully the noise will start something!

dublindee · 07/12/2006 16:30

Mmmm mmmm, yummy pineapple!

you only having 20 hours or so left Baileys.
Thought I felt something last night after my umpteenth curry, but no joy!

Ho-hum

northernmama · 07/12/2006 16:36

Dublindee - I know exactly how you feel!! I don't need to hear it just now I already know!! What I want is a sure - fire method of getting labour started!! Have been eating pineapple and side stairs too.... the side stairs actually helped my hips feel better.... hopefully the MUB will see the light and come on out

Olihan · 07/12/2006 16:42

Right girls, just seen this link on another thread. Mission 'Get That Baby Out' has officially begun .

Good luck Weirdbird, hope it is your waters, then you'll have a baby by Staurday for definite!!

dublindee · 07/12/2006 16:44

Thanks, glad to know it's not just me!
Was very brave at the weekend and got really fruity with DP but although it was fantastic - I felt like I was squishing him and bump to death (sorry if TMI ). That's meant to be a surefire way but I've had NO luck at all!

I'm still having pep talks with bump and telling him to come out too - that's still not working!

weirdbird · 07/12/2006 17:08

Still here

Accupuncturist thought that baby would be out by the weekend, but I won't hold my breath!

Am thinking of ordering a takeaway for dinner (curry anyone?) and persuading Dh to get fruity and if all that doesnt work I am filing a complaint somewhere!!

Am still getting the occasional contraction and bump is being very active, but nothing with any regularity...

Carameli · 07/12/2006 17:27

trying to take my mind off the fact that I am not going into labour right now... so online shopping.
Want to order some nice new nursing bras. Don't really need them but feel like having something nice to wear for the next few months. Don't exactly like the ones I have but never got around to looking for new ones.
have an of you got the la mere ones, they look lovely.

I also saw some really pretty ones just now on la redoute
la redoute nursing bra

any ideas.

MardyBum · 07/12/2006 19:18

Wondering whether to splash out on a baby sheepskin.... Managed without for dd1, and they are super expensive, but one of my friends swears by hers... hmm

mumatuks · 07/12/2006 19:29

Hi Guys,

Just popped back on to see if any new news.

Everything is going well here, I'm still looking at baby Dan and can't believe he's here. (although am reminded he is everytime I see my jelly tummy!)

He's a champion feeder and loves his milk!

DS2 who was my "baby" now seems to be a massive 18 month old toddler, and not my baby at all! DH and I had forgotten just how small they really are!

Wishing you guys all the best and that babies arrive soon. If it helps at all I cleaned like fury the day before baby Dan arived. Including getting down on the wooden hall floor and cleaning it (rather than mopping!) Also cleaned up the boys room, bathroom and the front door (don't ask why the front door, it just seemed necessary!) Never got the curry or sex that DH offered if I got desperate!.

Take care. x
