AC - go get seen!!!! It's time poopsie, it just has to be and GOOD LUCK!!

northernmama · 05/12/2006 22:08

Oh, BTW, still pg (as a very wise woman once put it), and extremely grouchy today as other kids sassy and badly behaved.....sigh....why oh why did I think a third was a good idea, NM wonders today.....

jabberwocky · 05/12/2006 22:48

Congrats magnolia!! I'm SO glad everything went well.

AQ, hope this is it for you We had a very, very difficult morning with ds as we were getting ready to leave for my check-up this am. Even his beloved nanny couldn't do anything with him. He's settled down atm thouogh. Here's hoping we won 't have the hour tantrun tonight...

I had a great check-up today btw. MY OB said my bp had come down faster than any patient of hers ever So I'm down to just one bp tablet a day this week and will probably be off them after that. Have also lost so much fluid I'm now 20 lbs down from pg weight.

AC - hope you're on the way to hospital. Good luck

Congrats magnolia.

Good news for me was that the m/w said baby is fully engaged when she checked me this morning

Carameli · 06/12/2006 08:45

keeping my fingers crossed for ac here, hope its all going well for her.

I have a terrible cough at the moment, really annoying me and make me like being sick when I cough, sorry if tmi. The pharmacist gave me buttercup syrup to take, said it was fine in pregnancy, but I have noticed there is alcohol(ethanol) listed in the ingredients. Do you think I am just being over cautious at this stage about this. Surely it must be fine at this stage.

Also wanted to tell others about brill website for shopping for babies/children. They just delivered a gorgeous rocking horse for my 3yr old dd. REally helpful and friendly there.

worth a look if you are online shopping.

satinshoes · 06/12/2006 09:32

carameli - you can take Venos expectorant. My pharmacist and Dr both agreed i needed something as cough so bad and both said this was ok. Tastes vile though

mumatuks · 06/12/2006 10:40

Hi Everyone!
Hope you're all well!

I'm pleased to say that DB3 arrived safely at 10.55am yesterday (5th) Much to my surprise!

It was 3.30am in the morning when the contractions started, coming regular at ten minute intervals, but nothing too painful.
I didn't believe it was the real thing, as DB was due until the 10th!

By 7.00am they'd come down to every 8 mins, and then by 8.30 they were every 6mins. the midwife came to check on me, and (I didn't know at the time) actually did a membrane sweep, as she was concerned that the labour could be a stop start job as it my 3rd.

Anyway, she went off and said she'd be back with the stuff that we needed for the homebirth, ring her if my waters went or I wanted to bear down.

My waters didn't actually break until 10.30, my midwife arrived back at our house at 10.45 and baby Daniel appeared at 10.55!!!

He was quite a big lad, weighing in at 9lb 4oz.
His big brothers are chuffed to bits with him, especially DS1 who is 3. DS2 (18months) is not so impressed but likes to kiss him, and then poke him!

I'm feeling ok, had some nice fruit juice to drink (couldn't before as it gave me acid indegestion) and DH treated us to a chinese takeaway last night.

Oh before I go, my poor DH. He was absolutely wonderful, but I must confess I bit him as baby Dan was born!! You see because it all happened so quickly, there was no time for gas and air, so the mouth piece I usually chomped on was not there, DH's arm copped it instead (I was stood up holding on to him) I must give him his credit as he was wonderful and did everything I told him to do.

Here's to the rest of the Christmas Babies yet to arrive!

Love Mumatuks. xx (sorry for rambling, I'm hormonal!)

satinshoes · 06/12/2006 10:46

mamtuks - congratulations! Glad everything went smoothly

SHELL2006 · 06/12/2006 11:35

Congratulations mumatuks xx

MardyBum · 06/12/2006 11:54

Congratulations Mumatuks!

castlesintheair · 06/12/2006 12:02

Congrats Magnolia & mumatuks! Glad it went well.

Sorry only brief skim as have baby on my arm PERMANENTLY at moment plus 1 hand typing .

Jabber, sorry to hear probs with DS1 - it's normal though & if any consolation(?) my DS of nearly 5 is far more affected than DD1 of nearly 3. I really thought it would be other way round. It's v. upsetting when you have everything else to cope with isn't it? How are you and everyone else feeling post-natally? Should we start a post natal thread so as not to annoy those who are still waiting to give birth with our new set of whinging???

Good luck to everyone in labour or still waiting. Thinking of you all.

Someone did start a post-natal thread a while back - it's here

Olihan · 06/12/2006 12:52

Congratulations Mumatuks. Sounds like a great 3rd birh, hope mine is that straightforward!

Still no signs AT ALL, no BH, no twinges, nothing that could remotely resemble a show and one of my friends commented on high my bump was this morning. I'm going to be starting a concerted effort to coax it out at the weekend, once I get to 38 weeks.

BM, hope you (or rather MIL) are surviving!

Hello to any newbies I haven't said it to yet - Bebespain, Lucy5 and Annaspanner are both in Spain, although I don't know whereabouts.

annaspanner · 06/12/2006 13:02

Congratulations to Magnolia & mumatuks!

I'm still here at 40weeks+5. I'm booked in for Monday morning but would prefer to induce naturally if possible (pineapples, sex, walking, raspbery leaf tea, up and downstairs sideways-been there, done that, hasn't worked yet ).
I don't mind that much(still have loads to do)just have had enough of both insomnia (yawn) and of being asked 'any news yet?'

I don't have internet at the moment so will catch up as soon as I can.......

Good luck everyone.....xx

summerlovebaby · 06/12/2006 13:25

Congratulation mumatuks !! omg since I am almost at the bottom of the due dates list I wonder if anyone will be left on this thread by the time I deliver?? Ah..I'll be chasing after you all on the post natal thread

summerlovebaby · 06/12/2006 13:30

annaspanner, have you considered reflexology? costs about 30 quid for an hour and can induce labour. hope you don't have to wait too long..

xx

jabberwocky · 06/12/2006 13:39

Congratulaions mumatk! What a birth atory

castles, interesting about your 5 year old. After our terrible morning and another brief episode at lunch, ds1 was then a perfect angel the rest of the day Here's hoping for more angelic times ahead...

dublindee · 06/12/2006 15:37

Congrats Mumatuks. Well impressed with the birth story. And welcome to little Daniel, I love the name - DP wouldn't let it be on our short-list but I love it!

Off to see Santy with DS and future MIL soon. Can't wait!

beepbeep · 06/12/2006 16:12

Soory been off for a while - busy giving birth!! Esta May was born on 28th Nov at 8lb 1oz. born 3/4 hour after arriving at hospital fully dilated - been at our last nct class til 21.45 and she popped out at 01.35 - couldn't have asked for anything better, though was a bit of a shock to happen so fast - think dp thought i was over reacting so took a very chilled drive to hospital & was most upset that he didn't get to use his pre packed swim shorts, massage oil etc etc! was 4 hours from start to finish.

to all still waiting - i'd eaten 2 pineapples in the 24hours before contractions started and did 2 mile walk when they did start to keep them going - not sure if this had anything to do with it - but maybe worth a try!

congrats to all others having 'popped' this last week x

judemum · 06/12/2006 16:43

Hi everyone- just a quick one to say how lovely it is to hear all the birth stories and thar all is going well... haven'tbeen on for quite a while so can't remember who I was going to respond to, but beebn laughing at the MIL stories..
enjoying (finally) being on mat leave. have finally packed hops bag (with 9 days to go) and sorted out baby clothes etc so feeling a bit more in control. keep posting everyone, its sucjh a lifeline knowing you're all out there doing pretty much the same as me

BaileysMilkshake · 06/12/2006 17:00

Congrats Mumatuks!!

Looking forward to hearing from AQ.

Very much want baby out - DH and I are snatching little moments alone sitting on the bed whispering with the light out telling each other to have a nap, as he is tired from work and I am just tired!

Bought pineapple, rasperberry leaf tea and sending DH out for egg fried rice and curry sauce for my tea!

Gloria42 · 06/12/2006 17:21

Congrats to all the new mums - not that I am at all!!!
SLB, you and me will be rattling around here by ourselves at the end of the month!

Carameli · 06/12/2006 17:30

congrats to all the new mums here. Very envious of you all right now
I just want this one out. Tomorrow is our 4th wedding anniversary so it would be quite funny if things started then. Going out for a nice meal at the weekend, although with the pidgeon portions I can eat its going to be a bit frustrating for me. Perhaps I should suggest a curry instead

been getting loads of strong bh's in the evening mainly and lots of that lower back pain but it never progresses further than that...

dublindee · 06/12/2006 19:23

Well Santy was fab. No tears, but he was a bit wary at first!! Got some lovely pics with him on Santy's knee and grandma was delighted she got to be there for it. Got DS home bathed and in bed so am going to order a curry for tea tonight and have some pineapple for dessert. Me? Desperate? NEVER!
