SHELL2006 · 05/12/2006 15:37

Hi Ladies, I am new to mumsnet, but wanted to tell you all that I am due on 21/12!!! Hopefully my DD will come sooner though as I am starting to get really painful backache & what feels like braxton hicks, are braxton hicks meant to hurt this much???

bebespain · 05/12/2006 16:24

Hi everyone
I'm a newbie too although have been lurking and looking at all your posts for weeks!
My due date was the 12th Dec but since moving to Spain at 5 months pg it has changed to the 1st, so has been and gone ....Yes I'm confused too!
Will be induced on the 13th if bubs doesn't come by himself - anyone any good experiences of this to share? I'm a first timer!
Good luck to you all and let's hope the time flies for all of us!

poppiesinalinewithtinsel · 05/12/2006 16:36

Wow you are all popping like pods

I have to say I have seen Magnolia1's little Ben very quickly and he is soooooo cute

Well done Magnolia and a HUGE congratulations.

dublindee · 05/12/2006 16:39

Hi Magnolia welcome back!

Indie - best of luck for today - we're all thinking of you.

Also welcome shell and bebespain. We're a nice bunch on here, if somewhat a little impatient with our bumps at the mo.
I keep poking mine and saying "You can come out now you know. There's no need to stay hiding in there!" but unfortunately he's not listening.
Typical boy. Stubborn!

Dragonhart · 05/12/2006 16:49

Congratulations Magnolia! Glad all went well. xxx

Loulou000 · 05/12/2006 16:53

Wow nearlythere, what an exciting story! Sounds like the perfect birth. And well done magnolia - I'm glad everything went ok, post about the section when you get time!

Welcome newbies. Shell, hmm, I thought braxton hicks weren't meant to hurt...

Indith · 05/12/2006 16:55

Wow!

Now stop arguing over who will be last ladies Stokey and I are bringing up the rear of this list and I'm sure this little thing is going to be stubborn and come as late and as close to the start of term as possible just to make mummy's degree even harder!

Also getting very I keep seeing all the soft little clothes and fluffy nappies I have ready and I really need a baby to put in them now!

BaileysMilkshake · 05/12/2006 17:03

Congrats Magnolia

Welcome Newbies

Satin - Ketones I am told show up when you have'nt eaten, I am always being told off because I have skipped breakfast - can't belive they can tell this from your wee though!

But in the last 2 days I have eaten 6 eggs - all soft yolks , wonder what that will show as?

AQ - DH suggested MIL go for a walk today and get some fresh air and he would watch DD while I slept - she declined. She has sat on the sofa or at the table all day and goes from playing with DD to telling her off for dropping toys (by acident)

In defence of her statue like behaviour (yes I am defending her - just this time) because we have had to unplug our phone and plug hers in ours is now beeping because the battery needs charging - she has been worried that it's been her hearing aid beeping as without it she's as deaf as a post and feels vunerable and embarrassed at the thought of not being able to hear whe people talk to her - understandably. However we have solved the 'what's the beep?' mystery and she is now back on form!

Dingdongdebbsyandbibbyonhigh · 05/12/2006 17:09

Good luck ladies there are still 5 of us on the Nov thread so save some labour vibes for us please.Theres Me,Natalie Jane,Saralou,Ladyann and Kelsuprise.

dublindee · 05/12/2006 17:17

Poor Natalie jane has had a thread going for donkeys now about being in labour and then not. Has she not gone to the MW and DEMANDED to have somethign done yet Debbsy? Don't think I'd be sane any more if it was me. No snide comments pls!!

Dingdongdebbsyandbibbyonhigh · 05/12/2006 18:02

no one seems like they want to help she has been to the hospital as she is swelling up,but they sent her home again i think she has had enough we all have.Alli can say is we must have extremely comfy ovens

spinasnowflake · 05/12/2006 19:54

Congrats Magnolia!

I'm keeping an eye on the famous five,Debs. I'm sure your time will be very soon!

BaileysMilkshake · 05/12/2006 20:10

She's done it - she's gone and committed the cardinal sin of telling me not to raise my voice at my own child when she was showing off

This from a woman who proudly claims to have hit her DC's with a stick - which she still has!

Someone please tell me a none sex related way to get this baby out so I can be rid of her!

satinshoes · 05/12/2006 20:26

Magnolia, it wont be long now. Get DH to talk to her.

Well, as you can see I'm still here. My DH has let me rest all day - it has been lovely. and he is taking tomorrow off to let me do the same again feeling very lucky.

spinasnowflake · 05/12/2006 20:26

accessorizechristmas · 05/12/2006 21:14

Coming every3 mins now, contractions since 3.30 this arvo. But dp and i still don't want to go to hospital!

Carameli · 05/12/2006 21:16

Baileys: you have my sympathy. I would have gone mad if anyone had told me off for that..

congrats to those that have popped recently, just popping in to say hi and that I am still here and getting really fed up. Had day assessment yesterday, in the end after they lost samples in the lab and had to do them all over again all was fine. turned out was not drinking enough! but awful heartburn has been the main cause of that so what was I to do.
Had a local midwife appt today to meet her as we have just moved and she is so so lovely and will be looking after me after the birth.
She also said I am 4/5 engaged which she said was really great for a 2nd timer. SO pleased about that.

well heres to lots more of us popping.

Dingdongdebbsyandbibbyonhigh · 05/12/2006 21:17

have you phoned the hospital?

northernmama · 05/12/2006 22:04
