Maybe this will really be the last one... until the postnatal one.

Jabber, yes Eli went in for her section on Friday but we haven't heard anything yet. I guess she is still in hospital. I keep checking obsessively for news

jabberwocky · 27/11/2006 21:17

x-posts, castles, but yes, absolutely better the second time around. I was sooo stressed about every little thing with ds1. This time dh got a 24 hour stomach virus on Friday night and I said Go home and don't come back until we are ready to go with you! I was actually glad to have him out of thw way

jabberwocky · 27/11/2006 21:18

I hope she was OK with everything in the end re: section vs. VBAC.

castlesintheair · 27/11/2006 21:24

Yes she seemed fine about having her c-section in the end. I think her BP settled it and speaking to lulumama etc on the Pregnancy/Childbirth threads.

It's nice to have you back btw!

accessorizequeen · 27/11/2006 21:25

That sounds really brilliant, jabber, I'm so glad it worked out for you & excellent that they managed the shaking (must remember those tips & ask for blankets, oxygen & tilting if it ends up section). Can't understand 6 hr gap tho, why could he not go on straight away? Shield on one side so much better than expressing for a year!!! I wish there was any chance of seeing lactation consultant here every day, but I will pay for someone if need be...
I hope it's not Eli's bp that's the trouble btw & it's under control.

jabberwocky · 27/11/2006 21:34

Yes, very strange, AQ. For some reason it was 2 1/2 hours before I even got to hold him. By then he wasn't interested, but I thought we were going to try again in no more than an hour.

Oh, forgot to add I had to go on a magnesium drip for 24 hours b/c of my bp. Now that is vile!!! The surgeon kept apologizing beforehand and told me all the side effects. It was just as bad as she predicted, unfortunately. But, at least I was forewarned. It's like being on some eerie almost-hallucinogenic...

magnolia1 · 27/11/2006 21:43

Blimey all these babies appearing! I am seriously Shitting myself now ladies!!!!! I keep thinking they will call on Thursday morning to say they can't fit me in
Jabber how many weeks were you?

Olihan · 27/11/2006 22:05

Congratulations Jabber, such lovely news and I'm so glad you and Kiernan are doing well. 5 lbs is a good weight considering he's a bit early. Hope the bf is going okay and all your preparation is paying off! Take care of yourself and keep us updated when you can.

I'm starting to think that maybe I should wash and dry all the baby clothes that have been in the loft for the last 15 months, not to mention buy all the essentials and pack my bag. I am so sure that I'm going to be late and therefore still have 6-7 weeks left that I'm putting it off. All of these unexpectedly early arrivals are making me rethink!

Had a bit of a shocker of a day today, dd and ds got up at 5:45am, both in foul moods and SO not ready to be up, dd screamed for an hour, wouldn't come to me, only wanted dh but wouldn't go back to sleep. Ds spent 3 hours having tantrum after tantrum over the stupidest of things and I ended up in tears by 8am. Not a good start to the week but the day did improve slightly, especially as dd slept from 12:30 until 5pm when dh woke her up. I'm hoping they won't keep waking at that early, broken nights are bad enough without them starting the day at that time!!

Anyway, my aunt is coming to babysit tomorrow night so dh and I can go and finish the Christmas shopping. I've done loads of it online (in between MNetting!) which has been great but we're now stuck for the grandparents etc, so it'll have to be 'real shops'. Our local mall is open until 10pm, that'll be a fun night out without the kids then . Don't think we'll even have time to sit and have a leisurely cup of coffee unless we are hyper-decisive.

Found out yesterday that dh's grandad has terminal bladder and bowel cancer and has only got weeks left. Sadly, it looks as though it will all happen around the time dc3 arrives so it will be a really bittersweet Christmas and New Year for the PILs .

Olihan · 27/11/2006 22:12

Well, that'll teach me for typing such a long winded post whilst talking to dh, I miss all the updates .

Jabber, sounds as though feeding etc is going well, you're giving me hope!

Magnolia, can't believe you'll have your baby in 3 days. I'm so . Empathise with the shitting yourself though, I was the same in the run up to dd's induction. It all gets a bit too real when you have a definite date, I think.

magnolia1 · 27/11/2006 22:14

Olihan sorry to hear about Dh's grandad xxx I lost my nan 2 years ago (23rd dec) and Xmas was very strange but we were no able to be sad around the kids which actually helped. Thoughts are with you and Dh xxxxx

jabberwocky · 28/11/2006 00:26

magnolia, I was 36+5. Ironically, I had planned tto pack my bag the weekend before, then when I got the call to come back in to the dr.'s office I decided it wouldbe a good idea to pack a bag and have it in the car. So the funny part of our mad dash in is that I had finished packing only 15 minutes before my water broke!

That's an icky feeling, btw...With ds it trickled mostly but this time came in gushy waves.

jabberwocky · 28/11/2006 00:27

Oh, Olihan, so sorry to hear about dh's gf. I lost mine just before Christmas many years ago and it's so very hard to deal with around the holidays.

Pann · 28/11/2006 00:30

just seen this thread jabberwocky. Remember me from the HSC thread in summer. You were great then.

Big congrats. to you and dp.

MerryChipmonkAndAHappyNewey · 28/11/2006 00:43

Jabberwocky, congratulations!!!! Very glad I came on MN tonight! Another lovely Irish name, too!
How does ds1 like his little brother?

jabberwocky · 28/11/2006 02:03

Hey, Pan and chipmonkey! Thank you so much. I'm still in awe of how much better things went this time - even considering that he came early.

DS1 is not quite so pleased, but is handling the situation tolerably well.

Baconbaps · 28/11/2006 08:15

Congratulations JW! Lovely to hear of another safe arrival and so glad everythings's gone well for you and that you were looked after so well in hospital.

I'm trying not to worry about going into labour and just trust my body to do it's job, I mean it's not like I haven't done it twice already! But I am panicking a bit to be honest and that's not good because I know that will make it more difficult. Maybe a mallet to the head until it's all over is the answer..

Gloria42 · 28/11/2006 09:08

Congratulations Jabberwocky! Another one delivered safe and sound!

I have MW appointment today to check position of bump. Not sure what scares me more - breech and section or Ceph and labour!!!

DebbsyandBibby · 28/11/2006 09:36

Just popping across from the Nov thread as i was with you for a short while.
Any babies arrived yet?

Good luck ladies

judemum · 28/11/2006 09:47

Congratulations Jabber- and love his name! Keep us updated on your progress.

jabberwocky · 28/11/2006 12:03

Magnolia, just caught up with the fact that your section is on Thursday. I will definitely have you and lo in my thoughts.

I officially finished Christmas shopping last night while bfing ds2. I just loooove the internet

Loulou000 · 28/11/2006 12:13

Congratulations Jabber! I'm glad everything went well for you.

I had yet another scan yesterday and the news is that placenta is still very low; but now, instead of booking me in this week (36 weeks) they want to wait until 39 weeks so that the baby is less premature. Well, didn't the doctor who told me I'd be having a CS this week realise 36 weeks was going to be premature?? Grrrr. So I'm booked in for 18 December now. Another three weeks of mooching around the house.

magnolia1 · 28/11/2006 12:27

Loulou, Thats a royal pain in the arse. They wanted me to have it at 38 weeks but I did ask for it to be bout forward and will be 36+6 when they do he section. Earlier han they would like but to be honest because mine is still covering the cervix going into labour would be more dangerous to me and baby than an early baby. Well thats my view anyway
I do think 39 is a bit late for a low placenta though. Is it covering your cervix at all or just close to it?

judemum · 28/11/2006 12:28

Loulou- very annoying for you as I expect you were all mentally geared up etc. Spose you have to console yourself about whats right for the baby etc, but very frustrating for you and as you say, the doctor should have thought about that in the first place...

spinasnowflake · 28/11/2006 12:37

Congrats JW. Love his name.I might try to steal it for DS22B's middle name actually!

Hi Debs! I was thinking of you this morning as I thought your due date was exactly four weeks before mine and I feel like I'm about to go at anytime(but won't I know and will still be lurking on herein 6 and a half weeks time!)

With regards to all other crucial topics, I haven't shaved anything for weeks.Might have to get the hedgetrimers out of garden shed
I am really getting of all of the babies and babies to arrive soon. I keep forgetting that I'm still a few weeks behind some of you and with my "slow cooker" status I'm not likely to see LO before Jan.

Gotta go. DS1 is at the toaster again

Loulou000 · 28/11/2006 13:05

It is a pain in the arse, and I'm feeling guilty that I would so much rather have it done now even though it would be a bit early for the baby.

39 weeks does seem quite late, so I'm mentally preparing myself to look out for early signs of labour and get myself to hospital for an emergency CS if anything happens sooner than that!

Mine is just close to the cervix, Magnolia, and posterior, so not quite as troublesome as yours I think.
