Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 34th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 34th grads fred is here

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 51st outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates.

bat I second potential sciatica?
jc sounds like the absolutely perfect sort of buy. Smile Yes, nice soft cheap and cheerful bedding! Or wait, I guess I should say linen? I don't know anything about bumpers or things, rhi, I just really love lovely bedlinens! Grin
We used a bassinet which we just put on the floor of the bedroom for the first four months. Then we got a largish travel cot so we could go places and DC could sleep in it permanently too. That way we figured we only have to make one big purchase which is a bed for DC when moving up to bigsleepstage. Don't know how feasible it is in reality but has worked thus far? Hmm

Aufwiedersehenpetrarch · 30/07/2015 15:08

bat Wikipedia says about sciatica "The straight-leg-raising test is often helpful in diagnosis. The test is positive if, when the leg is raised while a person is lying on their back, pain shoots below the knee."

SecondCupOfTea · 30/07/2015 15:08

So, scan done and all seems ok...was all a bit of a blur especially as I was so fucking tired. The actual scan took no more than 2 mins for a hundred fucking quid saw a vague blob (7mm), in the right place with a flickering heartbeat of 140bpm (even heard it for a few seconds). She dated the embryo at 6+3 (over a week less than my date) but said it's hard to be exact at this stage (and I'd not had a complete cycle since my implant was removed so my dates could just be guesses).

Oddly I don't feel elated or more excited Hmm I think I was expecting to see it a bit clearer or for it to take a bit longer not really sure what I was expecting but just feel a bit flat

On the important subject of undercrackers, I'm a thong girl, and intend to remain so for as long as possible Wink

batfish · 30/07/2015 15:13

Aww tea sorry you're feeling a bit rubbish about your scan experience - yay for little blob and heartbeat though!

Sciatica sounds horrible but at the moment preferable to going into 10 week premature labour on an island in the middle of the sea so fingers crossed that's what it is but that it's only temporary Grin I wouldn't be worried at all if I was at home because I know I would be within reach of a good NICU but it would be totally shite for something to happen right now!

Purpleball · 30/07/2015 15:15

Tea, hurray for good scans Smile I guess this means you're definitely pregnant - it's a bit of a weird feeling when you're confronted with the evidence.

Sciatica is a really sharp pain Bat, like someone has stabbed you with a skewer? It's very common in pregnancy as baby can trap the nerve. As long as it's moving normally I wouldn't worry, just get checked out when you get home

batfish · 30/07/2015 15:35

It wasn't really a sharp pain, more a radiating pain but quite strong. But hopefully it won't happen again and I'm just being a drama queen!!

Aufwiedersehenpetrarch · 30/07/2015 15:45

tea sorry you feel disappointed! It is rather underwhelming when you're normally just faced with humanlike blobs. But good news that all is well! And Isn't it amazing though that the blob beats! Smile

RhiannonElward · 30/07/2015 15:47

Excellent scan news Smile although two minutes for £100 is definitely a bit steep to say the least. Hearing the heartbeat is brilliant though, and drops the chances of a mc by loads. Congratulations!

Bat I had sciatic pain a couple of months back, I was putting my trousers on at the time and realised I couldn't lift my leg without this sort of toothachey pain in my upper arse. It lasted a week or two but then disappeared. Apparently the best thing to do is keep mobile and hope the changes in your pelvis sort it out. Do you have access to paracetamol? If so get some and see if that helps. I don't think it sounds like anything baby-related but I don't blame you for worrying given your situation. Smile

oneyorkshirepud · 30/07/2015 16:46

Tea I'm glad the scan went well but I would definitely be narked at 2 minutes for 100 quid!! When you get to your 12 week scan it looks more like a baby than a blob. I definitely didn't have a big rush of emotions at my scan, I was mostly massively relieved that there was no mmc. And other than that I thought 'that's pretty cool/a little bit weird!' Have definitely felt more attached the Xmas Pud since it started wiggling about.

CarrotPuff · 30/07/2015 17:05

Great news on the scan Tea, congrats! Sorry it was a bit underwhelming, but you'll get to see a more babylike bean in a few weeks!

goodnessgraciousgouda · 30/07/2015 17:29

Tea - I would agree with others that there's no reason why you should be feeling elated or whatever after a scan. At ten weeks, I was relieved to see the baby was okay after my bleeding, but there was no big emotional rush of love or whatever. It can be difficult to associate what's on screen to your body, especially when you can't feel any movement yet, and you don't actually look particularly pregnant.

I know people who start to bond with the baby as soon as they have the first ultrasound at 12 weeks, but I just can't understand it at all.

goodnessgraciousgouda · 30/07/2015 17:29

PS, for £100 though I would definitely be lodging a formal complaint.

jellypi3 · 30/07/2015 17:47

I was more relieved than anything at my 6 week scan, but like you all we saw was blob and heart, and even then what we thought was blobs head was the yolk sack! My 10w scan was better because it was more baby shaped. 12 week was brilliant because it had a nose and legs and arms and was wriggling and everything :)

pud you felt movement quite early didn't you? I really want to feel something

Purpleball · 30/07/2015 18:02

The early scan was worth every penny for the reassurance that there really was a live baby in there. It was an odd feeling though, not sure either of us fell in love with him then, that was more like the 12 or 20 week one. But we were emotional and there was a massive sense of relief

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 30/07/2015 18:19

Had early scans with DD as a friend is a scan tech. She was unplanned so they actually terrified me. I remember thinking her heartbeat sounded like a small scared animal. By the 12 week scan I was completely in love.

oneyorkshirepud · 30/07/2015 18:27

Jelly yeah I felt movement unusually early I think - 15 weeks was the first time but I think that was because I rolled over in bed in a funny way and squashed the baby it was quote a specific feeling, a bit like it was knocking as if to say 'Get off!'

Then I didn't feel anything for another couple of weeks. I have been able to feel it most days from 17 weeks, and DH has felt it move twice although normally it is not strong enough to feel on the outside. It is usually when everything gets a bit squashed (like sat on the sofa leaning forwards) or if I am laid on my back in bed. Lots of people don't feel anything until 18-20 weeks though so I think I am quite lucky, or I have a future kick boxer in there.... apparently you are more likely to feel it move if you are a slim jim. It's ace though when it happens!

jellypi3 · 30/07/2015 18:36

ahh i probs won't feel it for ages then, i'm not a slim jim by any stretch of the imagination! Wink

jellypi3 · 30/07/2015 18:39

by the way i've cleared the stats :) so la is now a grads grad, and ind is next Grin theres quite a gap between ind and the next few though!

batfish · 30/07/2015 19:08

No more pains, phew! I did almost faint at dinner and slightly terrified mr bat but I think it was just hot sitting outside and I've had a lot of sun today!

jelly I'm no slim jim either but actually felt a few tiny twitches from 17-18 weeks, doc said it was too early but there was nothing else it could be and the same feelings just became more frequent until I felt proper kicks at about 22-23 weeks.

Lookingforadvice123 · 30/07/2015 21:14

jelly I'm 99% sure I felt movements from 15 weeks, at first I wasn't sure as they've been described to me like butterflies which mine definitely haven't been! More like one swift muscle twitch or a little pop, but usually only happens once or twice in one go. As the weeks have gone by though I'm more sure that it is movements and not a twitch! I don't think DH would be able to feel them yet though as they happen so sporadically. Looking forward to them getting stronger!

I'm not a slim Jim any more Sad I was before I got pregnant. But when I had a scan at 16 weeks the sonographer said the position of my placenta would mean id feel them earlier than some women (it's at the back of the uterus).

I definitely wouldn't worry though as I think a lot of women don't feel them until 20+ weeks.

Jcandy · 30/07/2015 21:34

I've felt them from around 15 weeks too and my placenta is also at the back but it's different for everyone. Baby Candy is in fact kicking me now as I type so it must want to say hello to you all Smile Oh and jelly your pictures suggest that you're a slim Jim so I don't know what you're talking about Wink

My lemon drizzle cake worked beautifully! I'm impressed that I made a light cake Smile they normally come out stodgy for me. Do think it needed slightly more drizzle though.....

gaggiagirl · 30/07/2015 21:34

30 weeks todaaaaaaay!!!! Bring. It. On!!! Wooooop.

Jcandy · 30/07/2015 21:35

Anyone know what it is when my tummy gets achy and the lower part of it goes really hard? It's only for a short while. It's not painful so I'm not worried but just wondered what it was

gaggiagirl · 30/07/2015 21:37

candy can you re drizzle it? Double drizzle if you will!

gaggiagirl · 30/07/2015 21:38
